Blog 29 - The Morning After

Welcome back everyone!Today’s blog episode is going to be the last of Christian Girl Chronicles, and so it’s going to be a little longer than usual. In it I am sharing my testimony of God’s faithfulness and goodness. Which feels like a full-circle moment. When God first led me to start this audio blog, I had no idea where it would lead to but I am so grateful on this day of Thanks, that it led me here. It has been two full years of reflections, a-ha moments, self-discovery, and fellowship with all of you. Thankyou! God has been truly amazing and I thank you for following me on this journey. Today, along with my testimony, we will be talking about restoration. Sometimes when we are in the thick of a tough time, it feels as though things will never get better. There are times when the pain from struggles can feel so heavy, that you may wonder if you can ever be delivered from it. I am here to let you know, that you surely can be. Tears do dry up, hearts do mend, minds do rest and love does cover. I pray today’s blog, “The Morning After” truly blesses you. Love you all! 💕#singles #christian #restoration #encouragement #wisdom

    Blog 28 - Amplified Anxiety

Welcome back everyone!Have you ever stopped to think about where fear and anxiety comes from? In my quiet moments this week I found myself thinking about this question and reflecting on the times in my past when I struggled with fear and anxiety the most. What I noted was that whenever I felt powerless, alone, helpless, and inferior, these were the times fear and anxiety showed up. For years, I always felt like fear and anxiety controlled me. But God used a sickness to show me the very opposite.  I talk about it in this week’s blog episode, “Amplified Anxiety”, and I pray that it blesses you! If you aren't following my blog, I invite you to do so by clicking the Follow button on Spotify or whichever platform you are using. Blog 27 - Don't Fumble Your Blessing

Welcome back everyone! The waiting season. It’s almost a buzzword at this point because everywhere you look, someone is talking about it. Whether you are single, married, or somewhere in the middle, everyone finds themselves waiting for something at one point or another. Depending on how you wait, can make this period anywhere from fine to agonizing. One thing I can admit about myself is that I don’t like waiting and if I’m waiting, I don’t like feeling like I’m wasting my time. It’s a safe assumption that most individuals don’t mind waiting as long as they know something will eventually come. But how long are we willing to wait for that something and most importantly what are we doing in the meantime? I believe that God gives us opportunities to prepare for what He has for us but it is our responsibility to recognize and use these opportunities to our benefit. The only problem is, how do you know which opportunity will benefit you and which ones can be passed on?I attempt to answer this question in this week’s episode of the blog, “Don’t Fumble Your Blessing.” I pray it blesses you!If you aren't following my blog, I invite you to do so by clicking the Follow button on Spotify or whichever platform you are using. Blog 26 - (Seeing Yourself) Through His Eyes

Welcome back everyone!Have you ever had someone say something negative about you that was either true or untrue and it left you feeling awful? Well, I bet you’re not the only one. Hurtful comments are hard to hear and sometimes these comments aren’t even intended to hurt you. But unfortunately, that doesn’t soften the blow. Our words have the ability to build someone up and cut them down. This is why scripture cautions us to use our words wisely because what you say to someone today can have lasting impacts on them for years to come. Many of us are holding onto words that were spoken to us and we have not been able to let them go. It has affected our relationships, how we see others and how we see ourselves. In today’s blog, I am going to share how I believe you can finally let those words go and truly begin to view yourself and the life that God has for you through His eyes. I pray that it blesses you! If you aren't following my blog, I invite you to do so by clicking the Follow button on Spotify or whichever platform you are using. Blog 25 - Releasing Perfectionism

Welcome back everyone! Are there any perfectionists in the room? Let me see you! Being a perfectionist is something that I have always low-key loved about myself. I would laugh about it and proudly own that title when discussing it with others. In fact if you told me I was a perfectionist, not only would I agree with you but I would probably feel really good about it too. This was because in my mind, perfectionism and excellence went hand in hand and it was big time #goals. However, over the years, though gaining societal applause, it has been highlighted to me why this personality trait is not as good as I once believed it to be. I talk about it all in today’s blog “Releasing Perfectionism.” I pray it blesses you! Blog 24 - Rebuilding Your Blocks

Welcome back everyone! In the words of Tasha Cobbs, “I’m getting ready to see something I’ve never seen!” If that’s your meditation this year, shout, “I’m getting ready!” Happy new year everyone! It’s 2025, we’re a couple days in and I’m back with a blog to set you up for success. Whether you are committed to getting healthier, starting a business, repairing or beginning a new relationship, we will all find ourselves at the stage of rebuilding. It’s not an easy one because rebuilding often means admitting to a failed attempt. No one likes to admit failure but being in a position to rebuild presents an opportunity to build better. If this resonates with you, I encourage you to check out today's blog entitled "(Re) Building Your Blocks". I pray it blesses you! Blog 23- The "S-Word"

Welcome back everyone! As a single Christian woman who would like to one day get married, I have tussled with the idea of marital submission for years. In fact, I told myself that I didn’t like it and it just wasn’t for me. However, in the recent couple of months, God has highlighted a few things to me that has kind of made me think differently about it and I wanted to share my thoughts with you in today’s blog “The S-Word: Reconsidering Marital Submission”   If you aren't following my blog, I invite you to do so by clicking the Follow button on Spotify. Blog 22 - New Season, Old Me

Welcome back everyone! Has anyone else noticed that Fall has arrived? Yes, it’s time for cozy layers, pumpkin-spiced lattes, warm brown and orange tones, and my personal favourite... the beautiful change of the leaves on the trees. Yes, it is no secret that Fall is one of my favorite times of the year. But the onset of Fall also places my heart in a reflective state and as always, this time of year, I often find myself thinking about change. However, as we touched on pruning in my last blog, I also find my mind reflecting on the topic of growth, and how one does not necessarily indicate the other. How many of us know that passed time does not guarantee change and while change can occur, it does not always reflect growth? In order for growth to take place, intention needs to be part of the equation. So, in today’s blog I ask the question, How are you changing? How are you moving from season to season? Are you just going through the motions or is progress actually taking place? These are the questions that will be dropped in today’s blog, “New Season, Old Me.” If you aren't following my blog, I invite you to do so by clicking the Follow button on Spotify. Also, if you like what I'm sharing, I would love it if you followed me on social media (@alisamiam on IG) and share the blogs in your circles. Blog 21 - The Pruning - Christian Girl Chronicles

Welcome back everyone!Today we are continuing on in our self-development season and in the spirit of true self-development, we’re going there and talking about pruning. Yes, I know…no one likes to get cut but whether we want to admit it or not, cutting is part of the growing process. I remember several years ago, I did the big chop and I HATED it! I felt uncomfortable and even shed a few tears when I looked at my shortened coiffure in the mirror…BUT…did my hair GROW after that! AND it grew back healthier and stronger. The same goes for when God does some cutting in us. Yes, it may feel uncomfortable and yes you may shed a few tears as you adjust to things, after the cut. But God promises that the cut will work FOR you, not against you. So, if you are in a season where you’re finding that God is calling you to let go of a few things ✂️✂️ and it’s a struggle, today’s blog “The Pruning”, is for you. I pray that it blesses you. Blog 20 - Showing Grace When It's Hard - Christian Girl Chronicles

Welcome back everyone!Let’s be honest. It’s easy to extend grace when the offence is light. Like when someone steps on your toe in the bus. It may hurt a bit, but it doesn’t take much to give that person a pardon and let it go right? But what about when the offence is done by a friend, a partner, a sibling, a parent, or a mentor? What if the offence is malicious and intended to hurt you? What if the person doesn’t even seem sorry for their actions, could you give them a pardon in the same way, as the toe stomper? Moment of truth. God has been doing some major renovations on my heart in the last couple of months and one of the things He has made uncomfortably clear to me is how much I struggle with showing grace. It hasn’t been the easiest thing to acknowledge because in doing so, I am also exposing the parts of me that I’d rather remain hidden… the parts of me that…well…don’t look like God. But one thing that I am learning is that God is more concerned about my growth, than He is about my comfort. So, if you’re like me and truly struggle in this area, I invite you to check out today's blog, “Showing Grace When It’s Hard”. I pray that it blesses you. Blog 19 - Spiritually Managing Your Emotions - Christian Girl Chronicles

    Welcome back everyone!
Have you ever been told that you need tougher skin? That you were too soft? Too emotional? Do you feel like you feel emotions deeper than most people and therefore at times you hurt deeper as well? Then today’s blog is for you.
In a world where we are often encouraged not to wear our hearts on our sleeve, not to cry, and not to show emotion, it can feel like being an emotional person is a bad thing. We obviously know this is not correct. God created us as emotional beings. It’s our emotions that grant us opportunities to connect with others and can tell us more about a situation than our five senses ever could. But on the flip side, our emotions can also lead us to perceive things that aren’t true.
So, what is the role of our emotions and how can we make them work for us instead of against us? I talk about it in today’s blog, “Spiritually Managing Your Emotions.”

Blog 18 - Transforming - Christian Girl Chronicles

Welcome back everyone! In today’s blog we’re going to be talking about transformation. This has been a huge theme for me during the last few months as I’ve felt God calling me to a season of personal development. We’re going to be asking the hard questions of "Why am I like this? Why do I react this way? Is it just my personality or is something else going on?" And probably the most important question, "Is it maybe time to make some changes?" It can be a daunting task to look yourself in the mirror and give an honest assessment of the individual staring back at you. It may require acknowledging some hard truths—maybe even coming to grips with a few unsightly flaws. But if transformation is to happen, we must be willing to go there. Blog 17 - End of the Road - Christian Girl Chronicles

Welcome back everyone! We are gearing up for season 2 and as you can guess by the title, in today's prelude, we are talking about coming to the end of a road. It’s not the easiest place to find yourself as it usually means you need to figure out your next move. For some, that can be obvious and for others, not so much. But however you look at it, the end of one road often leads you to the beginning of another. If you’re riding shotgun with me, make sure your seat belt is on—I feel like this one might be a bit bumpy! If you aren't following my blog, I invite you to do so. Blog 16 - Healing Past Hurts - Christian Girl Chronicles

Welcome back everyone! It can be very difficult to go through a hurtful experience. The actions of others can seem light in nature but have a lasting impact on those individuals experiencing the hurt. Some hurts can last days, weeks, months or even years. Some can even cause emotional trauma that make it difficult for one to heal from it. I definitely know what it feels like to be hurt by someone and how it sometimes may even feel like that hurt will always be there. But healing IS possible and in today’s blog “Healing Past Hurts”, I share the 5 things that helped me get there. I hope this blesses someone today! Blog 14 - When God Says No - Christian Girl Chronicles

Welcome back everyone! Have you ever prayed for something sincere, and God said no to your request? How did you deal with it? I’ll admit, in the (not so far away) past, this wouldn’t have been something that I handled well—especially if what I was praying for was completely selfless and kind. This can be difficult in all our walks, but I find it especially hard in the singles journey. What do you do when what you are praying for doesn’t happen? This week, I believe God gave me 4 ways that singles (and anyone really) can navigate this difficult period. I go through them all in this week’s blog, “When God Says No” I hope this one ministers to your heart. If you aren't following my blog, I invite you to do so. Blog 13 - Suddenly Single - Christian Girl Chronicles

Welcome back everyone! What do you do when you find yourself suddenly single? I mean step on the breaks, sharp left turn, completely out of nowhere - sudden. Our girl Ruth definitely knows a thing or two about this! Many of us know the Bible story of Ruth as a tale of romance— and how a suddenly-single woman snatched up her swoon-worthy husband Boaz. But things did not start off this way. In fact, Ruth’s mind wasn’t even on finding a husband when she found Boaz. So, if she wasn’t focused on finding her husband, what was she focused on, and how did focusing on this thing, help lead her to him? I discuss it all in this week’s blog, " Suddenly Single” I hope this one ministers to your heart. If you aren't following my blog, I invite you to do so. Blog 12 - Verses for the Single Heart- Christian Girl Chronicles

Welcome back everyone! In today’s blog we are getting in the Word and I am going to be sharing three of my favorite scriptures that have influenced my singles journey. As the Holy book says, God’s Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. There really is no way that we can expect to live a life for Him, if we are not spending time in His Word. However, the bible also says that we cannot just simply read or hear His Word, we have to apply it to our lives to reap its full benefits. I hope the three scriptures that I share in today’s blog encourage you to do just that, as we continue to walk with Him on our singles journey. If you aren't following my blog, I invite you to do so. Blog 11 - Training Season - How to Truly Be Single & Content- Christian Girl Chronicles

Welcome back everyone! Today’s blog is going to touch on how to truly be single and content. It is a question I have been asking for years and although I found different resources that have tried to provide an answer to it, I don’t believe I have come across anything that has put it over in the way that God helped me put it over in today’s blog. Similarly, to how athletes must go through grueling training seasons in preparation for a game, run or match, God will use our single season to train us for what he has prepared for us. Although it may not be our favorite season now, it is in our singleness that God can use others to groom us into proper receivers for the gifts that he has for us. It may not always be enjoyable, but this grace period that God allows us to “get it right” is just what we need (and will eventually appreciate) in our walk with Him. After all, God is an intentional God. If He is taking the time to prepare us for what he has for us, that means it’s going to be big. Now who wouldn’t be happy with a gift like that? I hope this one ministers to your heart. If you aren't following my blog, I invite you to do so. Blog 10 - Winning Season - Christian Girl Chronicles

Welcome everyone! Happy New Year! Today is the first blog of 2024 and in it I am talking about my heart’s posture at the end of 2023. It is common practice for us to spend the year end focusing on what stressed us out and, vowing to do things better in the new year. #NewYearNewMe But in today’s blog, we’re going to do things a bit differently and instead focus on all the things that went right in 2023, making every effort to continue winning in the new year. God promises that with a little bit of faith we have the power to move mountains, but He also says that faith without works his death meaning we have to put some work behind that win. If you are like me and finding yourself feeling a bit apprehensive about what work will be required of you in this winning season, this blog is for you. If you haven't subscribed to my blog (either audio or written), I invite you to do so. Also, if you like what I'm sharing, I would love it if you followed me on social media (IG or FB) and share the blogs in your circles. Blog 9 - Your Reintroduction - Christian Girl Chronicles

Welcome back everyone! This is going to be our last blog of 2023 and we are wrapping up our series on identity. I’m so pleased with this concluding blog and it’s a perfect way to prepare for a new year. Identity is so important in our Christian walk. How we feel, what we think about, even who we choose, is all directly linked to knowing who we are in Christ and even though this continuous process self-pruning can be uncomfortable, it is all going to be worth it when we are standing face to face with our almighty father. Oh, what a day that will be! If you have been riding along this identity train with us, we started off in part 1 with acknowledging that we have been chosen, hand-selected, set-apart and sanctified by God to be used for His glorious purpose in this world. However, in part 2, we learned that before we can assume this new identity, there are things from our past (whether that’s from when we were a child or older) that we need to address in order for our sense of self to be restored. Part 3 of our series will now look at the steps we need to take to be able to reintroduce our newly created selves to our former selves, in order for us to walk in confidence into the life of true freedom that God had has called us into. So, from my heart to yours, here is the concluding blog of our identity series, ”Your Reintroduction”   If you haven't subscribed to my blog (either audio or written), I invite you to do so. Also, if you like what I'm sharing, I would love it if you followed me on social media (@alisamiam) and share the blogs in your circles. It is my continuous goal to take you along on my singles journey and help other singles navigate their season of waiting, one blog at a time. Have a wonderful Christmas and New Years eve! Stay safe and I will see you in the new year. 2024 is going to be amazing! Love you all! 💕 #singles #christian #identity #unlearning #waitingseason #encouragement #wisdom

Blog 6: Why Am I Still Single? - Christian Girl Chronicles

Welcome back everyone! Today, we’re going to attempt to answer the question that many single individuals ask: “Why Am I Still Single?”  Now today’s blog is not for the fly individuals who are rocking their singleness happy and content. This one is for my singles who desire a relationship and are wondering how much longer they must wait for one. For Christian singles who want to be in a relationship, the singles journey can be difficult. We watch countless of encouragement videos, read quotes and books to try and keep our hearts and minds focused on God, believing that He has called us to singleness for a reason. Being single in your 20s for a couple of years isn’t so bad. But what happens when you’re in your 30s and 40s and God still has you on this journey? You’ve gone to therapy, you’ve spent time with yourself, and in your heart, you truly feel ready but still God has you waiting.   If you can relate to this, I’m with you friends! However, one thing that I have learned about God is that he is intentional. If you desire to be married and in a godly relationship, I believe that He will give you the desires of your heart in His time. I know this is frustrating to hear but we really do have to trust that He is God and we are not. God revealed something to me this week on this topic, and in sharing it with you, I hope it brings you some encouragement. If you haven't subscribed to my blog (either audio or written), I invite you to do so. Also, if you like what I'm sharing, I would love it if you followed me on social media (@alisamiam on IG) and share the blogs in your circles. Welcome back everyone! Have you ever been faced with a time in your life when you questioned whether you were ready or not? Perhaps, you have been out of practice for a while and you’re not sure if you’re ready to get back out there. Or maybe you’ve just become accustomed to living life a certain way and now God is asking you to follow Him into unfamiliar territory. How do you know that you are truly ready for this next chapter? We’ll today’s blog is going to attempt to answer that very question. I hope this one ministers to your heart! If you haven't subscribed to my blog (either audio or written), I invite you to do so. Welcome back everyone! Today’s blog is going to deal with matters of the heart-literally! We’re going to be talking about the heart in it’s literal, emotional and biblical sense. Now this one is going to be a little personal for me, only because I really do believe that God has given me a unique heart that loves deeply and unfortunately also hurts deeply. So, if you can relate to that, today’s blog is for you. As you can tell from the title, we’ll also be talking about gate keepers. The definition of a gate keeper is a person who controls access to something. They assess who is “in or out”. So, the question I have for you today is, who is YOUR gate keeper? I hope this one ministers to your heart! If you haven't subscribed to my blog (either audio or written), I invite you to do so. Also, if you like what I'm sharing, I would love it if you followed me on social media (@alisamiam on IG) and share the blogs in your circles. It is my continuous goal to take you along on my singles journey and help other singles navigate their season of waiting, one blog at a time. Blog 3: God Will Restore- Christian Girl Chronicles

Welcome back everyone! Today’s blog is going to focus on believing that God will restore everything that the enemy has taken from you, whether that be time, opportunities, or even godly relationships that may have gotten lost throughout the years. If you’re like me, sometimes you may find it hard to trust God with the things that seem impossible. However, as He has revealed to me this morning, these are the exact things that He wants our trust in. We serve a God who we know can do the impossible and so as I encourage myself, I encourage you to trust God with whatever opportunities you feel you may have lost or things that you may be doubting He’s able to do in your life. Blog 2: It is Time - Christian Girl Chronicles

Welcome back everyone! I always find myself mesmerized by the warm, vibrant, and gorgeous aesthetics of fall. But fall also reminds us about change and that is what today’s blog is going to be about. As we all have come to know, while change is good it’s not always easy. However, change is absolutely necessary for growth and so as I reflect on what is required from me as I progress on my singles journey, I invite you to also think about what God may be asking of you. Perhaps it’s to let go of something (or someone), or maybe it is to change the way you have been doing something for years but now He’s asking you to switch things up. Whatever it is, scripture tells us that He promises to make all things work for our good. So, even though this part of our story may feel uncomfortable now, it’s all going to come together. Blog 1: Stepping Out on Faith- Christian Girl Chronicles

Welcome to the Christian Girl Chronicles Audio Blog! Today’s blog is going to be about having faith and how timely is this as I get ready to embark on my own journey of faith that God is calling me to? Having faith as a Christian is a must but as we know, it is not always easy. Sometimes, God will call us to an assignment that feels bigger than us. In my experience, that usually means I put up one heck of a fight before I finally say yes to whatever He is asking of me! However, this time I am choosing to follow Him and allow Him to take the reigns. Am I scared? Yes! Am I a bit worried that I’m not well equipped for what’s ahead? Absolutely! But one thing I know is that, if God is calling us to something, He already has given us what we need to succeed. All that’s left from us is to have a little faith. I hope this one ministers to your heart! If you haven't subscribed to my blog (either audio or written), I invite you to do so. Also, if you like what I'm sharing, I would love it if you followed me on social media (@alisamiam on IG) and share the blogs in your circles. Blog 8: Child in the Mirror - Christian Girl Chronicles

Welcome back everyone! Today’s blog is going to be Part 2 of our mini-series on “Identity”, and it’s going to focus on the topic of childhood trauma. ----- Content Warning The following blog contains material that may be potentially harmful or traumatizing to some audiences. We will be addressing themes of: Violence  Domestic Abuse Eating-Disorders If you are not comfortable at this stage in your journey to engage in topics relating to the above themes, please feel free to excuse yourself from listening to today’s blog. My intention is only to share my story, my reflection and offer encouragement to those who may be on a similar journey. We are going through this together and I hope in sharing my story, it can help provide a voice for yours. --- In Part 1 of our mini-series, I spoke about how God chooses us for His divine purpose, and I left off with the question: What does this now require from us? After we have acknowledged that we are chosen by our almighty Father, the next step I believe is to come to a place where we can identify as His child. However, in order to be able to fully absorb this new identity, we have to take part in the continuous unlearning of behaviors that we may have learned as unhealed children. This requires for us to do the work in healing from the trauma in our childhood experiences.   Help is available but we need to take the first step in getting there.   If you haven't subscribed to my blog (either audio or written), I invite you to do so. Also, if you like what I'm sharing, I would love it if you followed me on social media (IG or FB) and share the blogs in your circles. It is my continuous goal to take you along on my singles journey and help other singles navigate their season of waiting, one blog at a time. Blog 7: Chosen - Christian Girl Chronicles

Welcome back everyone! Today’s blog is going to be focused on the topic of being chosen. This is going to be part of a mini-series that attempts to answer the question that I believe Christian singles need to be asking themselves throughout their singles journey, and that is “Who Am I?” This is based on the idea that we were created by God and as we know, God is intentional. Everything he does is for a purpose and so when we’re talking about our singles journey, knowing that God is up to something, we have to think BIGGER. What does God really want me to understand with this? I think a good place to begin, is to start with examining who we are—or in other words what is our identity in Christ. I hope this one ministers to your heart! If you haven't subscribed to my blog (either audio or written), I invite you to do so. Also, if you like what I'm sharing, follow me on social media (IG: @alisamiam) and share the blogs in your circles. It is my continuous goal to take you along on my singles journey and help other singles navigate their season of waiting, one blog at a time. Love you all! 💕 #singles #christian #childofgod #identity #waitingseason #encouragement #wisdom
