059: Quick Tip: Did I unsubscribe from your emails?

Do you send out mass emails with a service, something like MailChimp or Constant Contact? You may be losing subscribers that you don't want to lose. Today I unsubscribed from a couple of email lists and I liked getting the emails, but I have multiple emails and my priority email is where these mass market emails were going and they're using a service. Perhaps it's MailChimp, perhaps it's Constant Contact, great services, by the way, or maybe it's one of the thousands of others out there. But I didn't want to unsubscribe. What I wanted to do was change where the email arrived. So I looked for and update preferences or change your profile kind of link. The only link they had was an unsubscribe link and so all I could do was hit that link and the only option on that link was to unsubscribe. There was no option to change the email where it arrives or to change my profile, which would have been useful. Instead, I got off their list. Now, if you're sending out mass emails and you don't have an option for your people to change the email at which they receive your mass emails, they may still want them. But if you don't give them a choice to change their email, you're going to lose them. And I say this assuming that many people have many emails like I do. So, you might want to look at that and find out how to give the folks you're sending emails to an option to change their profile, change their email instead of just the option to unsubscribe.

054: Quick Tip: Save time by listening to anything online at increased speed

This is specifically for the Chrome browser. If you use another browser or if you have a Mac, I'm sure there is something similar there.  You know, we can process the spoken word a lot faster than most people speak. And there's a way to speed up your listening if you're using the Chrome browser and other browsers as well. So I found this tool, and I have used it tremendously. I can listen at 20%, 40%, 60% faster, sometimes even 80% faster. So I can listen to a 45 minutes podcast in a half an hour or 20 minutes, depending on how fast I speed it up. And it's so easy to do.  I've got the Chrome browser up and what we would want to do is add a tool. So we go to more tools and then we can go to extensions right here. You will be able to search extensions if you don't have the actual extension. I do have the extension down here. It is called “video speed controller”. And here are some details. So speed up, slow down, advance rewind. It is awesome. And it saves so much time.  I've actually set up hotkeys. So when I'm listening to a video, I can hit the letter D and it just increases that speed by 20% at a time. And then if I want to drop back to regular speed or rewind to listen to something a little more intensely, I can hit R and it automatically drops back to the original time of the video. But most of the time I'm listening at 1.4 speed. So I can save a whole lot of time. And so can you. Look for it in your Chrome extensions or whatever browser you use there should be something similar.  That's it for today.
