Squeezing THE PLUMS with Steven Singh

A few years ago I was standing shirtless and frightened in the middle of a psychedelic ceremony. I was desperate to find the answers to why i was suffering from the world’s most painful headache condition. After 16 years of torture, oxygen tanks in my bedroom and carrying epi-pens on dates, I was ready to get rid of this nightmare pain. I share this experience in my very first episode. I decided to create Squeezing The Plums from the learnings I gathered in that ceremony. I wanted to create a place where men could share their stories, knowledge & opinions to develop the next generation of man

#50 Balancing security and passion, a blueprint for pursuing your dreams with Ricky Flow

I sat down with Ricky Flow to explore his journey from corporate beginnings to spiritual entrepreneurship. What begins as a reflection on following his brother’s footsteps into accounting at KPMG evolves into a deeper exploration of how a Tony Robbins event at 19 inspired him to quit his job and pursue a more meaningful path. Discover how witnessing a colleague’s eBay success planted the seed for entrepreneurship, why balancing security with passion is key during major life transitions, and how Ricky reconciled his practical upbringing in a Catholic, private school environment with his aspirational, creative side. This conversation reveals the man behind the entrepreneur—someone who has sold multiple businesses, embarked on a three-year spiritual journey, and now integrates business acumen with spiritual wisdom through writing, speaking, and singing. It’s a thought-provoking discussion about personal growth, decision-making, and how to pursue dreams without losing your foundation.

#48 2 Years Since My Last Cluster Headache - "Surrender But Don't Give Up"

Its been exactly 2 years to the day since my last cluster headache. On the 28th of December 2022 I experienced the worst pain possible on a 40 degree day in Sorrento. I was there for a friends birthday and started to get nervous that fatigue from the end of the work year, alcohol and heat would be a recipe for disaster. And sure enough it was. However the scariest thing about cluster headaches, was once you suffered one, the risk of experiencing a wave of clusters over the coming days and months (hence the term cluster headache) significantly increased. I very nearly have never just suffered one in isolation. Yet 2 years later and I have had no repeat thankgod. So what did i do and what was the internal dialogue? I go through what i mean by the phrase surrender, but don't give up. It's something that for me has allowed me to get through all stressful events full and well knowing there are always bright moments ahead if i choose to look after myself.

    #47 The Wheel of Life

After every year i do this one activity. I call it charting the wheel of life. The 7 key areas of my life and the lives of many are discussed in this episode and what you can do to figure out how your time and energy has been spent. I have always found this exercise is enlightening for me. Having a framework to literally pick apart my life has allowed me to reduce the stress i have on certain areas of my life and manage my own expectations. In saying that, it also shows where i'm wasting my energy and what parts of my life i'm dominating in. Enjoy Episode 47, it's one that if you do it well, can literally change your life forever.

How I Kept My New Years Resolution And The Science I Used to Help Me!

Almost 2 years ago I was addicted to coffee! I needed it for work, life and the prevention of my diagnosed cluster headaches. I effectively treated it as a tasty medicine that I felt was a necessity for function and performance. But when does it become too much? Well 5 long blacks a day including a quick visit to 7/11 on the way to the gym. An espresso at the gym. A double shot long black before work and of course a coffee for any meetings or lunches scheduled in were all ways in which i rationalised consuming coffee. SO HOW DID I STOP IT? Well besides a bit of old fashioned stubbornness and grit i used the science behind habit making to give me a hand. I learnt that willpower and discipline can only take you so far until you add in stress and a poor routine around your habits. And once i figured that out, i became unbeatable. Tune in today to learn about what the key 4 things you need to do to make your NY resolution stick.

Today has been crazy to say the least! After Donald Trump's landslide win for the republican party, we've seen every potential emotion come out. Every person has an opinion. BUT...just like Covid-19. People with an opinion that was outside the norm of the society they lived in were criticised, ostracised and condemned for their points of view. Today I take you through what my beliefs are around the way we should navigate the news of Donald Trump's election win and how we should be willing to hear both sides of people's opinions in order to serve ourselves better and remove ourselves from echo chambers of the same happy or sad set of stories.

#30 What is Apex Leadership with Patty McDonald

Apex Leadership? What the ….. You may have heard of Apex Predators, but how is it that you can apply that too leadership? Apex predators are the top of the food chain, they maintain the ecosystem and they command the respect of their other inhabitants. Alongside that Leadership in my mind has always been a multifaceted but to keep it simple it’s the ability to influence and look after the person to the left and right of you alongside yourself. Often people think Leadership directly correlates with rank or authority yet we all know people who are in high positions that we wouldn’t follow. Think Covid, Melbourne and the State Government. To discuss Apex Leadership I have brought in my special guest Patty McDonald. Combining the essence of leadership alongside an Apex position of authority is something i hadn’t to this date explored the concept off. NOT ACCEPTING THE DIAGNOSIS with Simba Khaira

Meet Simba Khaira, A friend of mine for over a decade, Simba and I met in our early 20’s. We were two brown brothers united through our social circles, gym and loving the hustle and grind. However like most men, we are great at sharing the good and not so open about sharing the struggles. Simba although fit and strong in his early 20’s was suffering from ankylosing spondylitis, an inflammatory disease of the spine and body which riddles people of their movement and livelihood. At the same time I was battling with my cluster headaches. And yet up until recently neither of us knew about each others battles. As our lives moved on we both went on seperate but similar journeys looking at differing practices of healing, psychedelics and inner work to rid ourselves of our conditions. 🚀 Episode 23 of @squeezingtheplums with Simba covers: 💥 Not accepting a diagnosis without a fight 💥 The MERJ principle to living a vital life 💥 The Psychedelic trap people fall into 💥 Love, Growth and Fame ⚡️WATCH EPISODE 23 “NOT ACCEPTING THE DIAGNOSIS ”👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼 💥 SEARCH AND FOLLOW SQUEEZING THE PLUMS ON Spotify, YouTube and Apple Podcasts 💥Want to support our mission? Dylan Jones: You can make quality time for your family, YOU JUST NEED DISCIPLINE.

Meet Dylan Jones, business owner of State of Fitness. When Dylan met his wife 10 years ago things were aligned for him very differently. He was partying every weekend and hanging out with a crowd that would be happy just to keep doing the same shit over and over again. But adding in a strong positive person into your life can do wonders. In Dylan’s case it was his girlfriend. As Dylan puts it love didn’t stem from the conventional idea of someone backing your every move. Rather it stemmed from the challenge that his now wife gave him to become better and more aligned to his values. A PT during the week whilst partying, having little sleep and eating crap on the weekends was something that Dylan learnt to change. And amongst all that he fell in love with the woman who “saw through his bullshit” and made him a better version of himself. Since then, Dylan prides himself on developing the systems and processes to make sure he turns up as the best father, husband and business owner. Surviving through early family bankruptcy, covid and business turmoil are just some of the things Dylan has had to go through. 🚀 Episode 19 of @squeezingtheplums with Dylan covers: 💥 Superficial Love vs Real Love 💥 How his upbringing made him obsess over systems and processes for life 💥 Why he bought a gym during COVID. 💥 How he makes time for his family whilst running a busy PT studio. ⚡️WATCH EPISODE 19 “YOU CAN MAKE QUALITY TIME FOR YOUR FAMILY; YOU JUST NEED DISCIPLINE. ”👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼 💥 SEARCH AND FOLLOW SQUEEZING THE PLUMS ON Spotify, YouTube and Apple Podcasts 💥 Want to support our mission? ABOUT THIS SHOW
