The Breaking Moment Podcast
by Rajene Bowe
The Breaking Moment Podcast is an encouraging and inspiring podcast. In 2021, I had a breaking moment that caused an interruption in my life. I had to change my old patterns as they were no longer serving me because a new me was forming. While finishing my bachelor's and master's degree in social work I had the loneliest, darkest, and scariest days of my life, until it led me to a better version of myself. Through scriptures, education and personal experience, I will discuss topics about mental health and spirituality, to help you with your healing journey. This podcast provides encouragement and support and is dedicated to serving anyone who wants to become a better version of themselves! You are not alone in this journey. It all starts with The Breaking Moment ....

Walk & talk w/ Rae: pause and reflect on your growth
Welcome to another walk and talk with Rae… this week I want to remind you to pause and reflect on your growth. Many of us have been doing the work of healing whether that’s going to therapy, journaling or being intentional with our healing ! One thing I’m learning in this journey of life, is that some days it feels like we’re not seeing our progress or what we’re doing doesn’t matter…. But I want to remind you, it does matter! You doing the work, you being intentional at becoming a better version of you, matters ! I want to remind you that I am proud of you and most importantly God is proud of you! Walk & talk w/ Rae: what do you have?
Hello everybody and welcome to another walk and talk with Rae. If you’re new to this welcome and if you’re not new to this welcome back❤️ This week I want us to focus on gratitude. I started the conversation asking who’s fighting your battle when everything around you feels like it’s too much? What if we lean into gratitude this week? Admits the storm, or not knowing how you’re gonna pay the bills… let’s fight with gratitude this week. We spend so much time worried about what we don’t have or comparing ourselves to others and what they have but, that’s not the way to live life. Living life that way makes us miserable, unhappy, hateful, and angry. It’s easier to focus on what you don’t have. It’s more of a challenge to focus on what you do have. The truth is the things we have now we once prayed for, so why not be grateful for the things you do have?I encourage us this week to live in the present moment. Take out a piece of paper or use your phone and start off with three things that you’re grateful for… maybe it’s food, water, a house, a community, being able to buy groceries, the list can go on and on . This is how we renew our minds and this is how practice gratitude. Practicing gratitude can change our mood and it changes the way we think about our situation. If you found this helpful ! Walk & talk w/ Rae: healing series part 3
On this week’s walk and talk w/ Rae 🤍💙💛🧡 for the last part of our healing series…..we will be talking about forgetting what lies behind and pressing forward in our healing journey .Just to recap… we talked about identifying and coming to an acknowledgment of the pain that we’ve been through. And then we talked about confronting the thing and replacing it with the truth. Confronting lies & confronting pain with the truth of God‘s word.So this week, I want us to remember to forget what lies behind and to actively press forward. When we are healing, when we recognize that things have happened to us & people have hurt us, it’s easy to get stuck in a victim mentality of what happened and what was. But I want to encourage you this week and remind you to keep pressing forward! There’s a scripture that I’m referring to. I want you guys to check out Philippians 3:12-14. Healing is a process and it doesn’t mean the pain goes away, but it does mean it no longer dictates your life. It’s a choice to live past the things that were meant to destroy you. And a decision to use that pain to maybe help others or to live a life that is filled with the abundance of the Lord. But the choice is yours! So I’ll leave you with this question… Do you want to be healed? It won’t be easy, but it’ll be worth it! And remember you’re not alone in anything you do, I’m rooting for you, you got this! Lastly, there’s a healed version of you that the world needs, that your family needs and that you need….but, it all starts with a decision to make that change ☀️🙏🏽Send us Fan MailSupport the showWebsite link:https://thebreakingmomentpodcast.buzzsprout.com/

Walk & talk w/ Rae: healing series part 2
Welcome to another walk and talk w/ Rae 🤍 On part two of our healing series….. we will be talking about confronting our giant and replacing it with truth.Last week we talked about examining ourselves and acknowledging our giants . And this week we will talk about confronting our giant and replacing the lies with the truth. One thing about healing is once we know things…sometimes we beat ourselves up for the things we didn’t know, the things we didn’t do or the things we should’ve done. I want to encourage you to see healing as an opportunity to do better and not an opportunity to beat yourself up. The truth is when we recognize our dysfunction, old patterns and pain. It can be really uncomfortable and it can make us feel a lot of guilt and shame. But I want to encourage you to see the truth as an opportunity for a new beginning. The Bible tells us in Isaiah 43:18-19 ““Do not remember the former things, Or ponder the things of the past. Listen carefully, I am about to do a new thing, Now it will spring forth; Will you not be aware of it? I will even put a road in the wilderness, Rivers in the desert.”We see a great example in the Bible about David and Goliath. David was the only one willing to stand up to the giant while everyone else around him was afraid. The thing about David, he knew who was with him and he knew who he served, GOD! David knew he wasn’t alone and neither are you. Just like David had the strength to face a giant that was bigger than him…We also have the strength to do the same thing ! So I encourage you this week to confront your giant and replace it with the truth!Scriptures for the week:- John 8:36- John 14:6- 1 Samuel 17 ( the chapter about David and Goliath )Send us Fan MailSupport the showWebsite link:https://thebreakingmomentpodcast.buzzsprout.com/

Walk & talk w/ Rae: healing series part 1
On this weeks walk and talk with Rae❄️….We start the first part of our healing series! The first part of this journey is to become aware/acknowledge the wounds, the pain, the hurt, the areas that you never talked about or the areas you never processed/dealt with. In order to do become aware we have to examine ourselves. We have to examine what keeps us from receiving God’s love, what keeps us from walking into what God called us to, what keeps us from receiving love again, what keeps us bound and what keeps us from looking more like Christ? We have to ask ourselves these hard questions so that we can bring it to the light . Scripture tells us that the Lord brings light to the darkness. And that if we follow Jesus who is the light of the world, we will not walk in darkness, but will have the Light of life! 💡And this journey of bringing things to the light can feel uncomfortable, scary, isolating and uncertain. But I want you to know that you don’t have to walk this journey alone. When you know where your help comes from, you can fight any battle, face any giant and walk through any storm ⛈️. I encourage you this week to take the first step I’m rooting for you! 🎉Scriptures to meditate on:-2 Corinthians 13:5 -Matthew 10:27 -John 8:12Song of the week 🎶:-God problems by: Maverick City Music, Chandler Moore & Naomi RaineSend us Fan MailSupport the showWebsite link:https://thebreakingmomentpodcast.buzzsprout.com/

Walk & talk with Rae: 2
I made this about three weeks ago, but it just blessed me and hope it blesses you. On this weeks walk and talk with Rae…Forgetting the former things, unlearning old things and letting go, all require work . It’s not an easy journey but it is required if we want to grow. Sometimes we hold onto attitudes, mindset, people, situations, heartbreaks, pain, etc. but no matter what it is, I encourage you to let it go. Letting go is a hard process and something that I work through every single day, so if you’re in that space right now I want you to know you’re not alone. The verse that I mentioned comes from Isaiah 43:18-20 “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”This is a reminder that we have to let go in order to make room for more. Maybe we are making room for more wisdom, more discernment, an open door, an opportunity, or a relationship, but the truth is… we won’t know until we let go. Just like I mentioned about my phone storage not allowing me to make room for more videos, the same goes for us if we don’t let things go. I realize that when we dwell on the past, we miss out on life and opportunities. Our past is meant to teach us, but it’s not meant to be a life sentence. So this is for anyone who’s struggling with guilt, shame, uncertainty, bitterness, hurt, disappointment , or whatever else you’re going through… let it go because you don’t have to carry it any longer. Cry through , talk about it , pray about it but let it go. So I leave with this question :Every day you have a choice…so what will you choose today? To move forward or to stay stuck. To settle or to grow. To let go or to hold on?Song of the week 🎶: Unlearning - by Lizzie Morgan Send us Fan MailSupport the showWebsite link:https://thebreakingmomentpodcast.buzzsprout.com/

Walk & talk with Rae: 1
On this week’s walk & talk w/ Rae 🌲💚.A tree has purpose …It absorbs CO2 and gives us oxygen. It enriches the soil. It provides shade and shelter. It is a home for many animals. A trees purpose is important!🌎 One thing we do notice about the tree, it changes during each season. In summer its leaves are full. The leaves are different colors and it looks strong and healthy. In fall the leaves start falling off and changing colors, we notice a shift in the way the tree looks. In winter the tree looks bare and looks weak because the leaves are gone. And in spring, the leaves start growing again almost like the tree is regaining its strength. What I admire about the tree is no matter what season it’s in. It’s still going to perform the roles it’s called to do. The same goes for us …. No matter what season we’re in we have to stand on a firm foundation of who we are in God. Things change, people change, seasons change but God and his word does not (Hebrews 13:8)No matter what season we are in .. we are called to serve the Lord, we are called to be lights in this world and we are called to love our neighbor as ourselves. That will never change no matter what season you’re in .I encourage you this week…1. Figure out what season you’re in 2. Go to the Bible and figure out what your role is as a believer3. Be honest with God about where you are and about what you’re experiencing Lastly, God cares about you. In Jeremiah 1:5 (amplified) “Before I formed you in the womb I knew[a] you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” God created you and gave you a purpose and a plan regardless of what season you’re in today, God still created you with a purpose and a plan. Don’t let your season take you away from God or the thing Gods called you to do! It's time to break up with you !
Hey everyone and welcome back to another episode of the Breaking Moment Podcast! It’s been a while but y’all I have a good topic for us to talk about … break ups. Break ups are hard, it requires letting go and grieving but it’s required in this journey. This episode, specifically we will be talking about breaking up with ourselves. As we continue to grow in Christ it requires us to let go of our old man daily!!! It requires us to renew our minds to God and his word daily!! So, in better terms we have to break up with us! This week I want you to reflect on the parts of you that you’ve been holding onto, but God wants you to let go of. What do you need to break up with? Is it people pleasing, pride, procrastination, being a perfectionist, settling, disobedience, staying in our comfort zones. While this can be a difficult thing to do, I want you to remember … you don’t have to do it alone because God is with you every step of the way!
