The Rested Rebel Podcast

The RESTED Rebel Podcast is where urgency dissolves and rhythm returns. Each episode offers short, bite sized practices including Yoga Nidra, nervous system resets, moon rituals, and embodied moments of pause, woven together with honest reflections on burnout, healing, rest, and the wild beauty of being human. This podcast serves the ones who are tired of rushing through their lives. The ones longing to slow down, soften, and reconnect with themselves again. This is rest with an edge.Tender, radical, and real.Created and hosted by Nikki of RESTED Rebel, these practices are born from my own journey of slowing down after living too fast.Episodes arrive in rhythm, not on demand.Because rest is not another task.It is a way back to yourself.Listen on Apple | Spotify restedrebel.substack.com

    30 day return is legit

Who is following the moon?Who does that? Why waste time?Hear me out.The moon, the sun, and the stars are some of the only things that remain true.I mean… what other truth is there?Even for people who think the world is flat…the moon, the sun, and the stars are still there.Still moving.Still cycling.Still reminding us.I grew up doing rituals according to the moon.In my culture, a newborn baby’s first haircut would happen on a Full Moon. The first baby celebration would happen on the first Full Moon after birth. For me, the moon is second nature.I pretty much rely on it, but my kids were born on waxing moon phase.I was born during the waning moon close to the Full Moon.My emotions can be wild. And honestly… maybe that makes sense. Not because I think the moon controls my life. But because it helps me pay attention to my life. While we are so busy building our dreams into reality, sometimes we forget about SELF.How have you actually been looking after yourself? What have you been eating? How have you been sleeping?Who have you been spending time with? What conversations have been shaping your energy?Have you been rushing through your lifeor actually living it?This week’s MoonNidra asks us to return to the masterplan.“Dogs bark at what they don’t understand.”“The moon does not worry about the barking of dogs.” RumiTo stay conscious. To make every breath count.Part of awakening awareness in the mind is conscious counting. Not counting to sleep. But counting to notice. Each breath. Each pause. Each moment. In this practice we work with the single digit 9.In numerology, 9 represents both endings and beginnings.A closing and an opening happening at the same time.Just like the moon. The moon phases are not here to control us.Maybe they are just soft reminders to check in.A quiet awareness clock in the sky.Because while we are busy creating the outer world, the inner world is still waiting for our attention too. That is the moon.PS. Following the moon does not make you more special than others.Maybe it simply reminds us that we are all special.xxN This is a public episode. THE GEM WITHIN

A Taurus New Moon reflection on peeling back the layers and returning to what is real. Before this week’s MoonNidra, I made a simple 1 minute warm up to help the body land a little softer before rest.1 minute videoSkrolla ner för svenskaWriting from abroad always feels like I should be sharing sunny stories.Well… it is sunny.I like the sun here.I am down on the coast of Málaga and the charm of Málaga is that you could be, as I was, sitting at a restaurant with a mob, a billionaire, a golf wife, a hardworking sex worker, and a fluent Spanish speaking Brit real estate agent selling dreams to both the have and the have not.Everyone chasing the same hot fantasy under the same blazing sun.Málaga only has billionaires. The millionaires are in Mallorca. Just joking. Aspire to be at least…I love it here though. The pawn is pawning people. The strange theatre of desire. Luxury. Reinvention. Escape. Performance.Everyone selling something. Everyone becoming something.Meanwhile I have been fully booked with work back in Ronneby, lining up upcoming events, sessions, and private clients while my brain hosts a full blown game show with my emotions. My lease is up soon and I am combing through what my future could look like by the end of the year.Which brings me to this week’s New Moon. The New Moon arrives in Taurus and unlike the usual “new moon, new you” performance, this one feels slower. Deeper. More honest.Taurus does not rush.It asks us to come back to what is real. The body. The breath. The meal. The home. The values underneath the noise.Taurus has always felt like creative wealth to me. Not just money, but richness. Beauty. Sensuality. Stability. In Ayurvedic and Vedic symbolism it reminds me of Nandi, the sacred bull, grounded enough to hold immense force without needing to prove it.And somehow this year’s Fire Horse energy feels like the accelerator quietly kicking in underneath it all.One part wants to root deeper. Another part wants movement. Heat. Momentum. Risk.Build carefully. But do not sleep on your own life.If you are new to Eastern astrology, Ayurvedic philosophy, or Vedic symbolism, don’t worry too much about understanding every reference intellectually. Feel the essence first. Sometimes wisdom lands in the body before the brain catches up.Normally the New Moon is about becoming someone new. New habits. New goals. New manifestations. La la la.But maybe this week is not about adding more.Maybe it is about peeling away the crusty layers built through survival. The overthinking. The performance. The rushing. The identities that no longer fit.So the gem within you can resurface. Not a new you. The real you.The one underneath the pressure. The one underneath the proving. The one who already knows.Let’s honour the saying we throw around so easily:it’s all within you. This week’s MoonNidra will move gently through that space.Less manifestation. Stark men stadig. Mindre manifestation. Mer remembering. This is a public episode. If you would like to discuss this with other subscribers or get access to bonus episodes, visit restedrebel.substack.com

Clarity Nidra | A Practice for Quieting the Noise

Moon phase: Last QuarterMoon edits: Releasing, Re editing, SimplifyingA practice for quieting the internal noise. For overthinking. For emotional overwhelm. For decision fatigue. For the version of you that has been holding too much for too long.Recorded during the current waning moon phase following the Last Quarter Moon on May 9, this MoonNidra is inspired by the quieter wisdom of slowing down, reflecting, and simplifying the noise around us.This is a softer phase of the lunar cycle.Less accumulation.More listening.A practice where clarity is not forced, but gently revealed through rest. This is not about finding immediate answers. It is about becoming still enough to hear yourself again.Headphones recommended.Lie down if you can.No experience with Yoga Nidra needed.xxNikkiPs. Full Moon Ritual Holding Fear with the Index Finger

Tonight’s full moon pulls old fear to the surface. Not the obvious fear. The quiet fear that rises when things begin to work. The fear of success. The fear of not knowing how long it will last.In Jin Shin Jyutsu the index finger is connected to fear. When you hold it you are asking the fear to speak rather than control you.You are asking it to show you where it began. You are letting it guide you inward instead of shutting your system down. This three minute ritual is simple.Hold the index finger.Breathe slowly.Let your fear soften enough to be understood.Let the full moon illuminate what you are ready to releaseand what you are ready to grow into. MoonNidra | The Body Remembers Safety

Episode Title: MoonNidra – The Body Remembers SafetyTheme: Taurus Moon | Resting into what is realLength: 20 minutesBody Focus: Throat, neck, and lower bodyThis MoonNidra marks a gentle milestone — my first week teaching again in my new hometown, Ronneby, and the beginning of our Yellowmoon Practice Journey Yogakurs, a twelve class exploration through the Five Elements: Earth, Wood, Metal, Fire and Water. We begin with Earth, and the timing could not be more aligned with the Taurus Moon. Both teach us how to stay close to what is steady and to rebuild from simplicity. This practice is an invitation to slow down, to trust your rhythm, and to let the body remember how safety feels.Taurus energy lives through the throat and neck, the bridge between thought and expression. When this space softens, the voice returns, the nervous system settles, and a deep inner calm begins to rise.In this episode I also share a few quiet updates:teaching again at Yellowmoon Studio in Ronneby, offering Spinal Energetics sessions, and returning to Lund for my first post-COVID workshop since closing my studio there. Each moment feels like part of a wider circle — teaching from the heart, creating again, and allowing life to flow as it is.If this practice resonates, join Sunday Reset,my weekly letter about rest, rhythm, and what the elements are teaching us each week. You can subscribe on Substack or explore more at nikkileeboklund.com. The Still Point Within the Storm

October’s Full Moon always arrives with contrast. The air sharpens, the light shifts, and everything in nature begins to move. Storm Amy sweeps across Europe this week, and the winds mirror what many of us feel inside: a stirring, a restlessness, a call to release what no longer needs to be carried.Autumn is the season of Vata — the dosha of air, space, movement, and transition. It is a time when we are invited to slow down even as the world around us speeds up. To anchor deeper even as the winds swirl. To trust that stillness is not the absence of motion but the steady centre beneath it.This is the heart of this week’s MoonNidra. It is a guided practice designed to help you find that still point. To soften the impulse to control. To honour what has grown. To release what is ready to fall away. And to receive what has been waiting to arrive. This practice is not about fixing or improving. It is an invitation to remember. To return. To rest.Practice Focus* Body focus: Heart and upper back, the landscape of receiving, emotional steadiness, and soft expansion.* Theme: Stillness amidst movement, receiving light, releasing control.* Seasonal support: Full Moon in October, Harvest energy, Vata season, storm clearing.Journal PromptAs the winds shift and the season changes, take a moment to notice what offers you stillness. It might be a breath that grounds you, a simple daily ritual, or a space that feels deeply safe and steady.Ask yourself:* What anchors me when everything around me is moving* What does enough feel like in my body right now* What am I ready to release so I can receive more fullyIf this practice resonates, share it with someone who needs a reminder that calm isn’t something we wait for, it’s something we return to, again and again.xxNikki This is a public episode. Episode 2 of 4 — Suits of the Body: Cups × Sacral ChakraThe Suit of Cups speaks in the language of the heart — love, grief, joy, longing. I’m back — and taking this opportunity to step into the 8/8 portal with intention, softness, and something I’ve been waiting to share. Let’s reset our idea of the Pentacle suits. This suit is not just about money. 🌒 MoonNidra · June 2 – Resting in the Light

Welcome to June. This week’s Nidra meets the Waxing Crescent Moon —a tender return of light after the dark. Our body focus is the lower back and spine —the structures that hold us upright, and the ones that quietly ask for rest when we carry too much. This practice is part of a month-long theme:Resting in the Light. Each week in June, we’ll meet a different part of the body, listening gently for what it needs to feel safe, supported, and steady again.Let this be your pause.Let the spine soften.Let breath move where tension once lived.🌿 The Clarity Pack is now open —a 21-day journey to reset your nervous system and reclaim your energy.Learn more hereWith love,Nikki This is a public episode. MoonNidra | May 26 – Krittika and the Quiet Fire

This week’s MoonNidra arrives with the New Moon —a time of stillness, soft resets, and unseen beginnings. In the Vedic sky, this moon rests in Krittika Nakshatra —a solar fire that clears space for truth.Krittika means “the cutters” — an energy that doesn’t rush, but refines. Our body focus is the pelvis and lower belly —the place where rest is most physical. Most primal.Where you don’t think — you feel.Where you don’t push — you hold. This week’s Nidra is longer.A 20-minute guided rest — unedited, unpolished, live. You’ll move through a gentle full-body scan, visualization, and quiet affirmations —a place to drop, not decide. You don’t have to name the seed. You don’t have to make it grow.Just let it rest in the dark.🎧 Listen now: The Seed Beneath the Stillness[Insert audio player or podcast link here]🧭 What Is Yoga Nidra?Traditional Yoga Nidra moves through a subtle rhythm:Stillness → Intention (Sankalpa) → Body awareness → Breath → Withdrawal → Visualization → Return.MoonNidra honors this rhythm —but lets the moon, the body, and the emotional climate lead. Each session:* Follows the current moon phase* Focuses on one part of the body* Moves gently through:Intro → Breath → Body Scan → Visualization → Rest → ReturnThis is rest for real life.No edits. No expectations. Just breath and body and moon.🌱 What’s NextI had planned to open subscriptions in June — but I’ve decided to wait. The Clarity Pack launch is around the corner, and I want to give that space to bloom first.MoonNidra will remain free for now.Still weekly. Thumb Travel

Hey, travel enthusiasts! It's Nikki here, sharing a personal journey and a powerful tool I’ve discovered which has helped me tremendously with travel anxiety. As I prepare for my upcoming flight from Malaysia to Australia, I want to share this wonderful practice from the art of Jin Shin Jutsu. It’s a five-finger meditation technique that has been part of my personal routine for the past three to four years. Join me as I dive into the world of thumb meditation – a simple yet effective way to manage anxiety during travel. Understanding The Thumb MeditationJust like many of you, I’ve faced the intense jitters before a flight. Anxiety and panic attacks have often tagged along as unwelcome travel companions. But fret not, because this thumb meditation can help alleviate those fears. The thumb acts as a connection to your stomach and spleen, which, according to Chinese medicine, govern emotions like fear and anxiety. Your stomach flutters not because of excitement, but often because of nerves, and here's how you can manage that. Step-By-Step Guide to Thumb Meditation 1. Find Your Comfort ZoneStart by finding a comfortable position. You can do this meditation standing or seated. It’s all about what feels best for you in the moment. 2. Engage with Your ThumbGrasp your thumb gently in your opposite hand. Allow yourself to focus on warming up the thumb. Feel the sensation, perhaps in the side of your head or hand that’s holding your thumb. 3. Breathe DeeplyBegin to breathe deeply in and out. Let the rhythm of your breath guide you into a deeper experience. Allow each breath to harmonize with your body. 4. Feel the PulsePay attention; you might feel a soft pulse in your thumb, a connection to your heartbeat. Try to listen to the rhythm in your hands and synchronize with it. 5. Arrival into Your BodyAs you become more aware, you’ll feel a sensation of arrival inside your body. Notice how your shoulders relax and how you become attuned above the surrounding noises. Reset and RestartMeditation practices like this serve to reset our mental state, allowing us to feel more in control. It’s similar to flipping a switch in your brain that helps you move forward without fear. Once you feel synchronized – and you’ll know when you do – gently release your thumb, perhaps rub your hands together, open your eyes, and embrace your day with renewed energy. Final Thoughts & A Little Extra As the new year takes flight, I wish you all safe and serene travels. Today marks the sixth day of new beginnings, and it’s the perfect time to introduce my new ebook, 31 Tiny Rituals for Everyday Calm. It’s packed with rituals like these and includes voice notes to guide you daily. Thank you for joining me on this tranquil journey, and may your travels be as calming as your inner peace. Until next time, safe travels!xxNikki This is a public episode. If you would like to discuss this with other subscribers or get access to bonus episodes, visit restedrebel.substack.com

    2025 is what it is!

2025 feels like a bridge to something bigger, brighter, and (hopefully) less chaotic. My business is thriving here in this quaint little town, where life moves slower but somehow my to-do list still grows faster than my houseplants. It’s been rewarding to see my work take root locally, proving that even in a quiet corner of the world, big things can happen.Meanwhile, my digital platform has started to catch on—like sourdough in 2020. With courses, eBooks, and podcasts brewing, it’s been amazing to connect with people far beyond my little bubble. Turns out, you don’t need a big city to make a big impact—just Wi-Fi and a lot of tea. This year, my focus is simple: stay on the path and keep things flowing. 2024 was all about clearing and resetting, and now it’s time to build on that foundation. Embrace Change

Embrace Change Meditation: Grounding During Vata SeasonAs we move into the season of change, we naturally feel the shift in energy around us. In Ayurveda, fall is known as Vata season—a time ruled by the elements of air and space. Vata energy is light, dry, and quick, which can leave us feeling ungrounded, scattered, or even anxious. To maintain balance during this season, grounding practices are essential. They bring the stability and warmth that help us stay centered amidst the natural turbulence of change.Change is inevitable, but how we respond to it determines whether we flow gracefully or feel overwhelmed. That’s where the Embrace Change Meditation and the R.E.S.T. Method come into play. By focusing on grounding ourselves, we can meet the winds of change with steadiness, remaining calm and open-hearted.3 Grounding Tips for Vata Season:* Connect with the Earth:Spend time outdoors, whether it’s walking barefoot on the grass or sitting quietly under a tree. The physical connection to the earth balances Vata's light and airy qualities, providing both mind and body with much-needed stability.* Nourish Your Body with Warm Foods:Incorporate warm, grounding foods into your diet like root vegetables, soups, and stews. Focus on meals that are nourishing, oily, and heavier to counterbalance the cool and dry nature of Vata. Add spices like ginger, cinnamon, and cardamom to enhance digestion and provide warmth.* Herbal Tea for Grounding:A warm cup of herbal tea is a soothing way to ground yourself during Vata season. Try a blend of ashwagandha, ginger, and licorice—these herbs provide warmth, balance energy, and calm the nervous system. Sip slowly, taking time to feel the warmth spread through your body. The R.E.S.T. Method for Embracing ChangeLet’s now apply the R.E.S.T. Method to guide us through this grounding process.Take a deep breath and allow yourself to settle into this moment.* Restart: Reset your mindset, releasing any resistance or hesitation toward change. Let this moment be a fresh beginning, an opportunity to see things from a new perspective. How can you open your mind to what’s unfolding?* Engage: Focus fully on your breath. With each inhale, feel fresh energy filling your body. With each exhale, release anything that no longer serves you. Engage your senses—notice the air in your lungs, the stability of the earth beneath you. Feel how grounding brings presence.* Silent: Allow silence to wash over you. In this stillness, there is no need to rush. Let the quiet reveal insights, allowing space for your intuition to guide you. What does the silence bring to your awareness in this moment of change?* Tuned In: Now, visualize a door before you, symbolizing the change or new opportunity in your life. With each breath, step closer to this door, feeling curiosity and openness. How does applying the R.E.S.T. Method help you trust and embrace this new chapter? Notice how your body, mind, and spirit respond.Take a few moments to sit with this visualization. When you're ready, gently bring your awareness back to your breath, feeling refreshed and more open to the possibilities ahead.5 Takeaways from the Embrace Change Meditation:* Increased Resilience: Grounding gives you the strength to face change with adaptability. When you are rooted, even the strongest winds of change feel manageable.* Clarity of Mind: Staying grounded helps clear mental clutter, allowing you to approach new opportunities with a calm and focused mind.* Emotional Balance: Grounding practices create emotional stability, helping you process change without being swept away by anxiety or fear.* Calm Amidst Chaos: This meditation teaches you how to remain calm in the midst of life’s chaos. The more grounded you are, the easier it becomes to navigate the ups and downs of change.* Deeper Connection: Grounding connects you to yourself, your intuition, and the present moment. This connection helps you align with the flow of life rather than resisting the changes that come your way.3 Practical Applications of the R.E.S.T. Method:* Restart When Feeling Overwhelmed: If change feels overwhelming, use the Restart step to reset your mindset. Let go of old expectations and invite fresh perspectives, allowing change to feel like a new beginning.* Engage with Breath During Transitions: Anytime you feel unsettled or scattered, come back to your breath. Deep, slow breathing grounds your energy and reduces the airy qualities of Vata.* Silent Reflection in Daily Life: Use the Silent step to carve out moments of stillness during your day. Silence helps you reflect on change, making it easier to trust the process and stay grounded.Grounding practices are not only crucial during Vata season but anytime you are facing a period of transition. By integrating the R.E.S.T. Method and Ayurvedic wisdom, you can create a deeper sense of calm, clarity, and balance as you navigate life’s changes.xxNikki This is a public episode.
