    "Resist"

To resist:is to abstain from, to resist temptation. When temptation is strong and pulling at us, and it does pull at us and tries to get us to give in.to refrain or abstain from, especially with difficulty or reluctance:to make a stand or make efforts in opposition; act in opposition; 1 Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.NLT1 Corinthians 10:13 The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.✨Matthew 26:41Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.Jesus tells us in scripture tells us to watch and pray. The Lord knows our spirit is willing to do right, but our flesh is weak.✨1 Timothy 6:9But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.A snare: anything serving to entrap or entangle unawares; trap.It not only small animals that get caught. Luke 13:24KJVLuk 13:24  Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. Luke 13:24 NLTLuke 13:24 Work hard to enter the narrow door to God's Kingdom, for many will try to enter but will fail. 1Co 5:1  It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife. 1 Corinthians 5:1-3,6 NLTI can hardly believe the report about the sexual immorality going on among you-something that even pagans don't do. I am told that a man in your church is living in sin with his stepmother.[2] You are so proud of yourselves, but you should be mourning in sorrow and shame. And you should remove this man from your fellowship. [3] Even though I am not with you in person, I am with you in the Spirit. And as though I were there, I have already passed judgment on this man [6] Your boasting about this is terrible. Don't you realize that this sin is like a little yeast that spreads through the whole batch of dough?1 Corinthians 6:13 NLTYou say, "Food was made for the stomach, and the stomach for food." (This is true, though someday God will do away with both of them.) But you can't say that our bodies were made for sexual immorality. They were made for the Lord, and the Lord cares about our bodies.1Co 10:8  Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand. Gal 5:19  Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 1Th 4:3  For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:1Th 4:4  That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour;Jude 1:7 NLTAnd don't forget Sodom and Gomorrah and their neighboring towns, which were filled with immorality and every kind of sexual perversion. Those cities were destroyed by fire and serve as a warning of the eternal fire of God's judgment.Note: this does not say anything about exceptions to this rule.Song: King Jesus Will Roll All Your Burdens Awayby Kenneth Morris 1947Pianist: Late Mrs. Loretta RaySinger: Marsha SingletonSong:  "This Little Light of Mine" Reference Credits:Edward G. "After Thoughts"

1 Corinthians 10:12 So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall!Genesis 18:16Then the men got up from their meal and looked out toward Sodom. As they left, Abraham went with them to send them on their way. [17] "Should I hide my plan from Abraham?" the LORD asked. 18] "For Abraham will certainly become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth will be blessed through him. 19] I have singled him out so that he will direct his sons and their families to keep the way of the LORD by doing what is right and just. Then I will do for Abraham all that I have promised." 20] So the LORD told Abraham, "I have heard a great outcry from Sodom and Gomorrah, because their sin is so flagrant. 21] I am going down to see if their actions are as wicked as I have heard. If not, I want to know." 22] The other men turned and headed toward Sodom, but the LORD remained with Abraham. 23] Abraham approached him and said, "Will you sweep away both the righteous and the wicked? 24] Suppose you find fifty righteous people living there in the city-will you still sweep it away and not spare it for their sakes? 25] Surely you wouldn't do such a thing, destroying the righteous along with the wicked. Why, you would be treating the righteous and the wicked exactly the same! Surely you wouldn't do that! Should not the Judge of all the earth do what is right?" 26] And the LORD replied, "If I find fifty righteous people in Sodom, I will spare the entire city for their sake." 27] Then Abraham spoke again. "Since I have begun, let me speak further to my Lord, even though I am but dust and ashes. 28] Suppose there are only forty-five righteous people rather than fifty? Will you destroy the whole city for lack of five?" And the LORD said, "I will not destroy it if I find forty-five righteous people there." 29] Then Abraham pressed his request further. "Suppose there are only forty?" And the LORD replied, "I will not destroy it for the sake of the forty." 30] "Please don't be angry, my Lord," Abraham pleaded. "Let me speak-suppose only thirty righteous people are found?" And the LORD replied, "I will not destroy it if I find thirty." 31] Then Abraham said, "Since I have dared to speak to the LorSong: King Jesus Will Roll All Your Burdens Awayby Kenneth Morris 1947Pianist: Late Mrs. Loretta RaySinger: Marsha SingletonSong:  "This Little Light of Mine" Reference Credits:Edward G. Psa 107:9  For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness. John 6:32-35 32 Jesus said,  tell you the truth, Moses didn't give you bread from heaven. My Father did. And now he offers you the true bread from heaven. 33] The true bread of God is the one who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.34] "Sir," they said, give us that bread every day.35] Jesus replied, I am the bread of life. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.Act 10:34  Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:Act 10:35  But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with himActs 10:9-33 NLTThe next day as Cornelius's messengers were nearing the town, Peter went up on the flat roof to pray. It was about noon,10] and he was hungry. But while a meal was being prepared, he fell into a trance. 11] He saw the sky open, and something like a large sheet was let down by its four corners. 12] In the sheet were all sorts of animals, reptiles, and birds. 13] Then a voice said to him, "Get up, Peter; kill and eat them." 14] "No, Lord," Peter declared. "I have never eaten anything that our Jewish laws have declared impure and unclean." 15] But the voice spoke again: "Do not call something unclean if God has made it clean." 16] The same vision was repeated three times. Then the sheet was suddenly pulled up to heaven. 17] Peter was very perplexed. What could the vision mean? Just then the men sent by Cornelius found Simon's house. Standing outside the gate, 18] they asked if a man named Simon Peter was staying there. 19] Meanwhile, as Peter was puzzling over the vision, the Holy Spirit said to him, "Three men have come looking for you. 20] Get up, go downstairs, and go with them without hesitation. Don't worry, for I have sent them." 21] So Peter went down and said, "I'm the man you are looking for. Why have you come?" 22] They said, "We were sent by Cornelius, a Roman officer. "Hearing God"

Matthew 13:1-9 NLTLater that same day Jesus left the house and sat beside the lake. 2 A large crowd soon gathered around him, so he got into a boat. Then he sat there and taught as the people stood on the shore. 3  He told many stories in the form of parables, such as this one: "Listen! A farmer went out to plant some seeds. 4 As he scattered them across his field, some seeds fell on a footpath, and the birds came and ate them. 5 Other seeds fell on shallow soil with underlying rock. The seeds sprouted quickly because the soil was shallow. 6 But the plants soon wilted under the hot sun, and since they didn't have deep roots, they died. 7 Other seeds fell among thorns that grew up and choked out the tender plants. 8 Still other seeds fell on fertile soil, and they produced a crop that was thirty, sixty, and even a hundred times as much as had been planted! 9 Anyone with ears to hear should listen and understand."Matthew 13:10-17 NLT The Purpose of the Parables10 His disciples came and asked him, "Why do you use parables when you talk to the people?" 11  He replied, "You are permitted to understand the secrets of the Kingdom of Heaven, but others are not. 12 To those who listen to my teaching, more understanding will be given, and they will have an abundance of knowledge. But for those who are not listening, even what little understanding they have will be taken away from them. 13 That is why I use these parables, For they look, but they don't really see. They hear, but they don't really listen or understand. 14 This fulfills the prophecy of Isaiah that says, 'When you hear what I say, you will not understand. When you see what I do, you will not comprehend. 15 For the hearts of these people are hardened, and their ears cannot hear, and they have closed their eyes- so their eyes cannot see, and their ears cannot hear, and their hearts cannot understand, and they cannot turn to me and let me heal them.16 But blessed are your eyes, because they see; and your ears, because they hear. 17 I tell you the truth, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see, but they didn't see it. "The Hate of Haman"

Matthew 7:2 For you will be treated as you treat others. The standard you use in judging is the standard by which you will be judged.Esther 3:1-6 Some time later King Xerxes promoted Haman son of Hammedatha the Agagite over all the other nobles, making him the most powerful official in the empire. 2] All the king's officials would bow down before Haman to show him respect whenever he passed by, for so the king had commanded. But Mordecai refused to bow down or show him respect. [3] Then the palace officials at the king's gate asked Mordecai, "Why are you disobeying the king's command?" 4] They spoke to him day after day, but still he refused to comply with the order. So they spoke to Haman about this to see if he would tolerate Mordecai's conduct, since Mordecai had told them he was a Jew. 5] When Haman saw that Mordecai would not bow down or show him respect, he was filled with rage. 6] He had learned of Mordecai's nationality, so he decided it was not enough to lay hands on Mordecai alone. "Get Your Affairs in Order With the Lord"

Proverbs 14:12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof arethe ways of death. Proverbs 12:15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise. John 8:1-11 NLT[1] Jesus returned to the Mount of Olives, 2 but early the next morning he was back again at the Temple. A crowd soon gathered, and he sat down and taught them. 3 As he was speaking, the teachers of religious law and the Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in the act of adultery. They put her in front of the crowd. 4 Teacher, they said to Jesus, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. 5 The law of Moses says to stone her. What do you say?6 They were trying to trap him into saying something they could use against him, but Jesus stooped down and wrote in the dust with his finger. 7 They kept demanding an answer, so he stood up again and said, All right, but let the one who has never sinned throw the first stone! 8 Then he stooped down again and wrote in the dust. 9 When the accusers heard this, they slipped away one by one, beginning with the oldest, until only Jesus was left in the middle of the crowd with the woman. 10 Then Jesus stood up again and said to the woman, Where are your accusers? Didn't even one of them condemn you?11 No, Lord, she said. And Jesus said, Neither do I. Go and sin no more.Luke 13:1-5 NLT[1] About this time Jesus was informed that Pilate had murdered some people from Galilee as they were offering sacrifices at the Temple. 2 Do you think those Galileans were worse sinners than all the other people from Galilee? Jesus asked. Is that why they suffered? 3 Not at all! And you will perish, too, unless you repent of your sins and turn to God. 4 And what about the eighteen people who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them? Were they the worst sinners in Jerusalem? 5 No, and I tell you again that unless you repent, you will perish, too.Luke 13:22-30 NLT[22] Jesus went through the towns and villages, teaching as he went, always pressing on toward Jerusalem. [23] SomSong: King Jesus Will Roll All Your Burdens Awayby Kenneth Morris 1947Pianist: Late Mrs. Loretta RaySinger: Marsha SingletonSong:  "This Little Light of Mine" Reference Credits:Edward G. "Who Are You?"

Acts 19:11-20 NLTActs 19 11 God gave Paul the power to perform unusual miracles. Acts 19 12 When handkerchiefs or aprons that had merely touched his skin were placed on sick people, they were healed of their diseases, and evil spirits were expelled. 🌟Acts 19:13 A group of Jews was traveling from town to town casting out evil spirits. They tried to use the name of the Lord Jesus in their incantation, saying, "I command you in the name of Jesus, whom Paul preaches, to come out!" 🌟Acts 19:14 Seven sons of Sceva, a leading priest, were doing this.Acts 19:15 But one time when they tried it, the evil spirit replied, "I know Jesus, and I know Paul, but who are you?" Acts 19:16 Then the man with the evil spirit leaped on them, overpowered them, and attacked them with such violence that they fled from the house, naked and battered. Acts 19:17 The story of what happened spread quickly all through Ephesus, to Jews and Greeks alike. A solemn fear descended on the city, and the name of the Lord Jesus was greatly honored. Acts 19:18 Many who became believers confessed their sinful practices. Acts 19:19 A number of them who had been practicing sorcery brought their incantation books and burned them at a public bonfire. The value of the books was several million dollars. Acts 19:20 So the message about the Lord spread widely and had a powerful effect. Mark 9:38-40 NLT [38] John said to Jesus, "Teacher, we saw someone using your name to cast out demons, but we told him to stop because he wasn't in our group."[39] "Don't stop him!" "Rabbi," he said, "we all know that God has sent you to teach us. Your miraculous signs are evidence that God is with you." [3] Jesus replied, "I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God." [4] "What do you mean?" exclaimed Nicodemus. "How can an old man go back into his mother's womb and be born again?" [5] Jesus replied, "I assure you, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit. [6] Humans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives birth to spiritual life. [7] So don't be surprised when I say, 'You must be born again.' [8] The wind blows wherever it wants. Just as you can hear the wind but can't tell where it comes from or where it is going, so you can't explain how people are born of the Spirit." [9] "How are these things possible?" Nicodemus asked. [10] Jesus replied, "You are a respected Jewish teacher, and yet you don't understand these things? [11] I assure you, we tell you what we know and have seen, and yet you won't believe our testimony. [12] But if you don't believe me when I tell you about earthly things, how can you possibly believe if I tell you about heavenly things?🟣Luke 16:19-31 [19] Jesus said, There was a certain rich man who was splendidly clothed in purple and fine linen and who lived each day in luxury. The Hand of God is Mighty Part 2

Ezra 8:21  Then I proclaimed a fast there, at the river of Ahava, that we might afflict ourselves before our God, to seek of him a right way for us, and for our little ones, and for all our substance. KJVEzra 8:22  For I was ashamed to require of the king a band of soldiers and horsemen to help us against the enemy in the way: because we had spoken unto the king, saying, The hand of our God is upon all them for good that seek him; but his power and his wrath is against all them that forsake him. KJVEzra 8:23  So we fasted and besought our God for this: and he was intreated of us. Ezr 8:31  Then we departed from the river of Ahava on the twelfth day of the first month, to go unto Jerusalem: and the hand of our God was upon us, and he delivered us from the hand of the enemy, and of such as lay in wait by the way. Proverbs 3:66  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.Ezr 7:27  Blessed be the LORD God of our fathers, which hath put such a thing as this in the king's heart, to beautify the house of the LORD which is in Jerusalem:Ezr 7:28  And hath extended mercy unto me before the king, and his counsellors, and before all the king's mighty princes. "The Hand of God"

Ezra 7:6  This Ezra went up from Babylon; and he was a ready scribe in the law of Moses, which the LORD God of Israel had given: and the king granted him all his request, according to the hand of the LORD his God upon him. In 2Chronicles 36:22 The Lord stirred the heart of King Cyrus that he wanted his temple rebuilt in Jerusalem. And the king notified God’s people of the endeavor and asked who would go of their own free will to do it.Ezra 4:1-5 NLT1] The enemies of Judah and Benjamin heard that the exiles were rebuilding a Temple to the LORD, the God of Israel. 2] So they approached Zerubbabel and the other leaders and said, "Let us build with you, for we worship your God just as you do. We have sacrificed to him ever since King Esarhaddon of Assyria brought us here." 3] But Zerubbabel, Jeshua, and the other leaders of Israel replied, "You may have no part in this work. We alone will build the Temple for the LORD, the God of Israel, just as King Cyrus of Persia commanded us." 4] Then the local residents tried to discourage and frighten the people of Judah to keep them from their work. 5] They bribed agents to work against them and to frustrate their plans. This went on during the entire reign of King Cyrus of Persia and lasted until King Darius of Persia took the throne. Ezra 4:11 NLT[11] This is a copy of their letter: "To King Artaxerxes, from your loyal subjects in the province west of the Euphrates River.12] The king should know that the Jews who came here to Jerusalem from Babylon are rebuilding this rebellious and evil city. They have already laid the foundation and will soon finish its walls. 13] And the king should know that if this city is rebuilt and its walls are completed, it will be much to your disadvantage, for the Jews will then refuse to pay their tribute, customs, and tolls to you. 14] Since we are your loyal subjects and do not want to see the king dishonored in this way, we have sent the king this information. 15] We suggest that a search be made in your ancestors' records, where you will discover what a rebellious city this has been in the past. In fact, it was destroyed because of its long and troublesome history of revolt against the kings and countries who controlled it. 16] We declare to the king thSong: King Jesus Will Roll All Your Burdens Awayby Kenneth Morris 1947Pianist: Late Mrs. Loretta RaySinger: Marsha SingletonSong:  "This Little Light of Mine" Reference Credits:Edward G. "A Pane in the Window"

Proverbs 4:23 Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.2 Chronicles 35:18-19 [18] Never since the time of the prophet Samuel had there been such a Passover. None of the kings of Israel had ever kept a Passover as Josiah did, involving all the priests and Levites, all the people of Jerusalem, and people from all over Judah and Israel.2Chr 35:19 This Passover was celebrated in the eighteenth year of Josiah's reign. What is the Passover?Exodus 11:1-10 NLT[1] Then the LORD said to Moses, I will strike Pharaoh and the land of Egypt with one more blow. After that, Pharaoh will let you leave this country. In fact, he will be so eager to get rid of you that he will force you all to leave.2] Tell all the Israelite men and women to ask their Egyptian neighbors for articles of silver and gold.[3] (Now the LORD had caused the Egyptians to look favorably on the people of Israel. And Moses was considered a very great man in the land of Egypt, respected by Pharaoh's officials and the Egyptian people alike.) [4] Moses had announced to Pharaoh, This is what the LORD says: At midnight tonight I will pass through the heart of Egypt. 5] All the firstborn sons will die in every family in Egypt, from the oldest son of Pharaoh, who sits on his throne, to the oldest son of his lowliest servant girl who grinds the flour. Even the firstborn of all the livestock will die. [6] Then a loud wail will rise throughout the land of Egypt, a wail like no one has heard before or will ever hear again. 7] But among the Israelites it will be so peaceful that not even a dog will bark. Then you will know that the LORD makes a distinction between the Egyptians and the Israelites. 8] All the officials of Egypt will run to me and fall to the ground before me. 'Please leave!' they will beg. 'Hurry! And take all your followers with you.' Only then will I go!" Then, burning with anger, Moses left Pharaoh. [9] Now the LORD had told Moses earlier, "Pharaoh will not listen to you, but then I will do even more mighty miracles in the land of Egypt." 10] Moses and Aaron performed these miracles in Pharaoh's presence, but the LORD hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he wouldn't let the Israelites leave the country. This Passover contained specific instructions regarding preparation, and cooking, of the bread and the meat. "You Have A Choice"

2 Chronicles 26:3-15 NLT[3] Uzziah was sixteen years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem fifty-two years. His mother was Jecoliah from Jerusalem. [4] He did what was pleasing in the LORD's sight, just as his father, Amaziah, had done. [5] Uzziah sought God during the days of Zechariah, who taught him to fear God. And as long as the king sought guidance from the LORD, God gave him success. [6] Uzziah declared war on the Philistines and broke down the walls of Gath, Jabneh, and Ashdod. Then he built new towns in the Ashdod area and in other parts of Philistia. [7] God helped him in his wars against the Philistines, his battles with the Arabs of Gur, and his wars with the Meunites. [8] The Meunites paid annual tribute to him, and his fame spread even to Egypt, for he had become very powerful. [9] Uzziah built fortified towers in Jerusalem at the Corner Gate, at the Valley Gate, and at the angle in the wall. [10] He also constructed forts in the wilderness and dug many water cisterns, because he kept great herds of livestock in the foothills of Judah and on the plains. He was also a man who loved the soil. He had many workers who cared for his farms and vineyards, both on the hillsides and in the fertile valleys. [11] Uzziah had an army of well-trained warriors, ready to march into battle, unit by unit. This army had been mustered and organized by Jeiel, the secretary of the army, and his assistant, Maaseiah. They were under the direction of Hananiah, one of the king's officials. [12] These regiments of mighty warriors were commanded by 2,600 clan leaders. [13] The army consisted of 307,500 men, all elite troops. They were prepared to assist the king against any enemy. [14] Uzziah provided the entire army with shields, spears, helmets, coats of mail, bows, and sling stones. [15] And he built structures on the walls of Jerusalem, designed by experts to protect those who shot arrows and hurled large stones f from the towers and the corners of the wall. His fame spread far and wide, for the LORD gave him marvelous help, and he became very powerful. 2Chronicles 26:16 But when he had become powerful, he also became proud, which led to his downfall. He sinned against the LORD his God by entering the sanctuary of the LORD's Temple and personally burning incense on the incense altar. [17] Azariah the high priestSong: King Jesus Will Roll All Your Burdens Awayby Kenneth Morris 1947Pianist: Late Mrs. Loretta RaySinger: Marsha SingletonSong:  "This Little Light of Mine" Reference Credits:Edward G. 2 Chronicles 21:12-15 NLT[12] Then Elijah the prophet wrote Jehoram this letter: This is what the LORD, the God of your ancestor David, says: You have not followed the good example of your father, Jehoshaphat, or your grandfather King Asa of Judah. [13] Instead, you have been as evil as the kings of Israel. You have led the people of Jerusalem and Judah to worship idols, just as King Ahab did in Israel. And you have even killed your own brothers, men who were better than you. [14] So now the LORD is about to strike you, your people, your children, your wives, and all that is yours with a heavy blow. [15] You yourself will suffer with a severe intestinal disease that will get worse each day until your bowels come out.2Chronicles 21:3 NLT[3] Their father had given each of them valuable gifts of silver, gold, and costly items, and also some of Judah's fortified towns. However, he designated Jehoram as the next king because he was the oldest.2 Chronicles 21:4 NLT[4] But when Jehoram had become solidly established as king, he killed all his brothers and some of the other leaders of Judah.2 Chronicles 21:11 NLT[11] He had built pagan shrines in the hill country of Judah and had led the people of Jerusalem and Judah to give themselves to pagan gods and to go astray.2 Chronicles 21:7 But the LORD did not want to destroy David's dynasty, for he had made a covenant with David and promised that his descendants would continue to rule, shining like a lamp forever.2 Samuel 7:8-17 NLT[8] Now go and say to my servant David, 'This is what the LORD of Heaven's Armies has declared: I took you from tending sheep in the pasture and selected you to be the leader of my people Israel. [9] I have been with you wherever you have gone, and I have destroyed all your enemies before your eyes. They tried to use the name of the Lord Jesus in their incantation, saying, "I command you in the name of Jesus, whom Paul preaches, to come out!" 14] Seven sons of Sceva, a leading priest, were doing this. 15] But one time when they tried it, the evil spirit replied, "I know Jesus, and I know Paul, but who are you?" 16] Then the man with the evil spirit leaped on them, overpowered them, and attacked them with such violence that they fled from the house, naked and battered. 17] The story of what happened spread quickly all through Ephesus, to Jews and Greeks alike. A solemn fear descended on the city, and the name of the Lord Jesus was greatly honored. 18] Many who became believers confessed their sinful practices. 19] A number of them who had been practicing sorcery brought their incantation books and burned them at a public bonfire. The value of the books was several million dollars. 20] So the message about the Lord spread widely and had a powerful effect.🟢Romans 2:13Romans 2:13 For merely listening to the law doesn't make us right with God. John 14:27-28John 14:27 I am leaving you with a gift-peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don't be troubled or afraid. John 14:28 Remember what I told you: I am going away, but I will come back to you again. If you really loved me, you would be happy that I am going to the Father, who is greater than I am.John 6:40 For it is my Father's will that all who see his Son and believe in him should have eternal life. I will raise them up at the last day.John 14:2-4 NIVJohn 14:2 My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? John 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. John 14:4You know the way to the place where I am going.John 14:8-11John 14:8 Philip said, "Lord, show us the Father, and we will be satisfied." John 14:9 Jesus replied, "Have I been with you all this time, Philip, and yet you still don't know who I am? The doors were locked; but suddenly, as before, Jesus was standing among them. "Peace be with you," he said. 27] Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here, and look at my hands. Since they are no longer two but one, [9] let no one split apart what God has joined together." [10] Later, when he was alone with his disciples in the house, they brought up the subject again. [11] He told them, "Whoever divorces his wife and marries someone else commits adultery against her. [12] And if a woman divorces her husband and marries someone else, she commits adultery.”Luke 16:14-18 NLT[14] The Pharisees, who dearly loved their money, heard all this and scoffed at him. [15] Then he said to them, You like to appear righteous in public, but God knows your hearts. The Death of LazarusJoh 11:1  Now a certain man was sick, named Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha. Joh 11:2  (It was that Mary which anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.) Joh 11:3  Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick. Joh 11:4  When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby. Joh 11:5  Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus. Joh 11:6  When he had heard therefore that he was sick, he abode two days still in the same place where he was. Joh 11:7  Then after that saith he to his disciples, Let us go into Judaea again. Joh 11:8  His disciples say unto him, Master, the Jews of late sought to stone thee; and goest thou thither again? Joh 11:9  Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world. Joh 11:10  But if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because there is no light in him. Joh 11:11  These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep. Joh 11:12  Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well. Joh 11:13  Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep. Joh 11:14  Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead. Joh 11:15  And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, to the intent ye may believe; nevertheless let us go unto him. Joh 11:16  Then said Thomas, which is called Didymus, unto his fellowdisciples, Let us also go, that we may die with him. I Am the Resurrection and the LifeJoh 11:17  Then when Jesus came, he found that he had lain in the grave four days already. Joh 11:18  Now Bethany was nigh unto Jerusalem, about fifteen furlongs off: Joh 11:19  And many of the Jews came to Martha and Mary, to comfort them concerning their brother. Joh 11:20  Then Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met him: but Mary sat still in the house. Joh 11:21  Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died. Joh 11:22  But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God wiSong: King Jesus Will Roll All Your Burdens Awayby Kenneth Morris 1947Pianist: Late Mrs. Loretta RaySinger: Marsha SingletonSong:  "This Little Light of Mine" Reference Credits:Edward G. Don’t they come from the evil desires at war within you? [2] You want what you don't have, so you scheme and kill to get it. You are jealous of what others have, but you can't get it, so you fight and wage war to take it away from them. Yet you don't have what you want because you don't ask God for it. [3] And even when you ask, you don't get it because your motives are all wrong-you want only what will give you pleasure. [4] You adulterers! Don't you realize that friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God? I say it again: If you want to be a friend of the world, you make yourself an enemy of God. [5] Do you think the Scriptures have no meaning? They say that God is passionate that the spirit he has placed within us should be faithful to him. [6] And he gives grace generously. As the Scriptures say, "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.[7] So humble yourselves before God.
