Ep. #351 - Reflection: Hands Full of Shells
In this episode of The Journey, I share a simple moment from Fort Myers Beach that turned into a powerful reminder about growth, change, and the opportunities we miss when we keep our hands full of the past. As I watched a young boy struggle to grab a starfish because he was already holding shells, I could not help but reflect on how often we do the same thing in life. We hold onto what is familiar, even when something greater is right in front of us. This conversation is about learning to let go so we can truly move forward. I talk about the awareness, intention, and courage it takes to release what no longer serves us, make space for new possibilities, and stop standing on the sidelines admiring what could be. The journey requires risk, but that climb is what shapes us into who we are meant to become.

Ep. #346 - Reflection on The Myth of Greatness

Episode #345 - Reflection: Waiting on Direction
I wonder if this ever happened, I believe the prompting is not an accident and I know what direction to go in. But it does seem to be the right time. So, I must just wait and be patient. Not comfortable but necessary. So, what to do. A quote from Maya Angelou helps, “Do the best you can until you know better. Then, when you know better, do better.”

Ep. #338 - Revisiting a Christmas Carol: A story of Transformation
Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol is more than a holiday classic—it’s a mirror. Through the transformation of Ebenezer Scrooge, we’re reminded that change doesn’t require perfection, only honesty, courage, and a willingness to see ourselves clearly. In this episode, I reflect on how Ebenezer’s awakening—his reckoning with the past, his awareness of the present, and his responsibility for the future—can be our story as we step into a new year. Ep. #318 - What does the good life look like for you?
This week on The Journey, I reflect on the idea of the good life. What if you woke up tomorrow and found yourself living it? What would be different? What would you be doing? In this episode, I explore why asking these kinds of questions matters — sometimes even more than finding the answer. Ep. #317 - Completing the Threat Response Cycle
In this episode, I reflect on the work of Emily and Amelia Nagoski and their insights into the threat response cycle. In today’s world, most of our threats aren’t physical — they’re emotional, mental, and psychological. And yet, our bodies still respond as if we're in danger. Too often, we suppress those feelings, leaving stress unresolved and our systems stuck in overdrive. I talk about why it’s essential to complete that cycle — to let our bodies burn off what was triggered — and how doing so can protect our mental and emotional well-being. I close with a reminder: whether through professional support or facing these challenges intentionally, healing begins with the choice to do the work.

Ep. #316 - The Story We Tell Ourselves: The Power of Perspective
In this week's episode of The Journey, I reflect on the power of perspective. When you see a glass with 8 ounces of water, do you see it as half full or half empty? When she returned to the U.S., Lacey entered foster care and lived with her grandmother and aunt until she was 17. Despite these early hardships, she found a way forward—earning her college degree and discovering powerful truths about herself along the way. What struck me most about Lacey is not just what she’s endured, but the strength, wisdom, and self-awareness she’s gained through it all. Her story is a reminder that even in our darkest moments, we can find light—and sometimes, even gifts. I hope you’re as inspired by her journey as I was.
