Rehab to Row with Jack Burns
Jack Burns is a former Great Britain international rower and the founder of Edge Rowing, an online coaching company that helps busy professionals reach their full potential in rowing without sacrificing their careers or health. After competing internationally for GB in the single scull, Jack transitioned into coaching, combining performance data, technique, and mindset training to help athletes improve efficiently. Today he works with rowers around the world and shares insights on performance, mindset, and high-level training through his content, coaching, and podcast conversations with elite athletes. Rehab to Row with Savannah Brija
Savannah Brija, a former soccer player turned rower, shared her journey from discovering rowing in college to her current elite training with Arion Rowing team and her recent return to competition after recovering from a rib injury. She discussed her training approach, including cross-training on the bike and the use of technology like the X-Boat device to monitor performance during her rehabilitation. Rehab to Row with Lisa Lowe
Lisa shared her experience recovering from a hip replacement, noting that her recovery was slower than average due to her unique circumstances, such as the age at which she had the surgery and the specific surgical approach. Overall Lisa has great insight into the process of hip replacement rehab which provides valuable insights for others. Lisa has been gradually returning to rowing, starting with 4k in 45 minutes and now rowing 2-3 times a week. Lisa emphasized the importance of building up repetitive flexion movements slowly and using drills to maintain proper form. She advised patience during recovery, as the first few months can be challenging, and suggested being mindful of the repetitive nature of rowing strokes.
