My Menopause POV + 5 Pillars For Menopausal Care
In this first episode, I'm sharing a peek into my past, my menopausal point of view, and five pillars of menopausal care. My passion for health and wellness was ignited by my grandmother, who was, more or less, our family "bush doctor," aka medical practitioner. Growing up in a small village meant that doctors weren't readily accessible. So grannie concocted herbs from the garden of Eden in our yard and got us right. When perimenopause came knocking at thirty-eight, It didn't dawn on me that my body had begun priming for menopause. It took some time before I realized what was happening. But once I did, there was no stopping me from obtaining ways and means to move through this phase as healthily and vibrantly as possible. That's when I realized the lack of awareness and education around this rite of passage. Initially, I felt alone. My friends, both my age and older, weren't saying anything, my family was tightlipped, and my healthcare practitioners didn't seem to recognize that my body was changing. So yeah. Talk about a silo.
