Botox, Fillers & Facelifts: What Works & When to Do Nothing with Facial Plastic Surgeon Dr. Michael Brandt
Facial plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Brandt joins Tracy for an honest, judgment-free conversation about Botox, fillers, facelifts, aesthetic medicine, and the decision to do nothing at all.Dr. Brandt, founder of FORM Face + Body in Toronto, explains the differences between traditional, mini, and deep plane facelifts; what creates natural-looking results; and why choosing the right provider matters as much as choosing the right procedure. He also discusses Botox and other neuromodulators, how long facial fillers may remain in the body, nonsurgical rhinoplasty, lip filler, eyelid surgery, neck lifts, laser resurfacing, chemical peels, retinol, red light and infrared masks, and everyday ways to protect aging skin.Tracy and Dr. Brandt also explore:How to know whether an aesthetic procedure is right for youWhy a reputable provider may tell you to wait or do nothingThe risks and benefits of surgical and nonsurgical treatmentsWhat women with melanated skin should know about lasers, chemical peels, scarring, and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentationWhy fillers can sometimes create a pillowy or overfilled appearanceWhether Botox and cosmetic procedures can become addictiveWhat to consider when looking for natural-looking resultsWhy second opinions are important before a major procedureHow aesthetic medicine can support confidence without becoming a pursuit of perfectionWhether you are considering cosmetic work, firmly opposed to it, or simply curious about the options, this conversation is designed to help you make informed decisions from a place of knowledge rather than pressure or fear.Connect with Dr. Michael Brandt:Instagram: @dr.m.brandt & @formfaceandbodyLinkedIn: drmbrandtWebsite: https://formfacebody.caDownload Dr. Brandt’s guide, Questions Worth Asking at Any Aesthetic Consultation: https://drive.google.com/file/d/18Ha3PsjAlmj9zrhnx3xeTC3r7PprqJFq/view?usp=sharingThis episode is for general educational and informational purposes only and does not constitute medical advice. When It Rains, Let It Rain: How to Find Contentment When Life Doesn’t Go as Planned
What if contentment isn’t something you find when life finally goes according to plan, but something you can practice right in the middle of the mess? After a powerful derecho tore through my neighborhood, we were left with flooded streets, fallen trees, no power, no WiFi and neighbors suddenly pouring out of their homes to help one another. Somewhere between clearing storm drains, laughing with my neighbor Sue in her red rain boots and watching complete strangers show up for each other, I realized I was experiencing something I’d recently been studying in yoga philosophy: Santosha, the practice of contentment. In this solo episode of A Beautiful Fix, we explore what Santosha can teach us about finding contentment when life doesn’t go as planned, practicing gratitude for what’s already here and letting go of our constant need for life to be different before we allow ourselves to enjoy it.Because maybe contentment isn’t about pretending everything is perfect. Maybe it’s learning to stop looking over the fence, stop waiting for the next thing and fall in love with the life that’s actually happening right now.And sometimes, when it rains, you just let it rain.Want More?Grab your Human Design chart here: https://www.abeautifulfix.com/pages/hdchartWant to unpack it together? She Left Everything Behind: 7 Years of Solo Travel | Kristy Halvorsen, Author of Perfect Unfolding
What happens when you leave behind the life you’re supposed to want and start following what actually makes you feel alive? After 14 years as a firefighter and paramedic, Kristy Halvorsen walked away from her career, sold her home and most of her belongings, and set out alone in an Airstream. What began as a leap into the unknown became seven years of solo travel across North America and ultimately inspired her book, Perfect Unfolding. In this episode of A Beautiful Fix, Kristy shares what she learned about trusting yourself when you don’t know what comes next, overcoming fear, embracing uncertainty, and following what she calls the “tickles of your soul.” We talk about the extraordinary kindness of strangers, finding freedom outside of society’s expectations, falling in love with life, and why you don’t need to sell everything or travel across a continent to begin changing your own life.We also explore Kristy’s Human Design as a 1/3 Emotional Generator with an open Identity Center and how beautifully it reflects a life built through experimentation, experience, and the willingness to let identity evolve. If you’ve ever wondered whether there could be more for you, or felt the pull toward a life that doesn’t quite make logical sense, this conversation is an invitation to trust the next step. You don’t have to know where it will lead.Connect with KristyWebsite: Perfect Unfolding Instagram: @Kristy.Halvorsen Free 7-Day Journey: Perfect Unfolding 7-Day Journey: https://perfectunfolding.com/7day/ Want More?Grab your Human Design chart here: https://www.abeautifulfix.com/pages/hdchartWant to unpack it together? Leave Yourself Alone
Have you ever spent more energy avoiding something than it would have actually taken to just do it?This week I finally recorded my first yoga teacher certification video. Six months late. Fifteen minutes of footage nobody will ever see. One husband who said two words. And one hour that actually counted. What happened in the middle of all of that led me straight to Saucha, the first Niyama in the ancient yogic tradition, and it had something very specific to say about what I had been doing to myself.Saucha means purity. But not the kind you are thinking. This episode gets into what purity actually looks like in everyday life, the energy that moves through us in moments of unexpected beauty, the beginner's mind, and three words from Anthony de Mello that I am still sitting with.Leave yourself alone. If you have been managing yourself, judging yourself, or making something simple into a whole production, this one is for you.Visit abeautifulfix.com to explore the podcast, Human Design sessions, and retreat experiences.Want More?Grab your Human Design chart here: https://www.abeautifulfix.com/pages/hdchartWant to unpack it together? I Had It All and Then I Didn't: Dr. Susan Miele on Identity, Menopause, and Beginning Again
What happens when everything you built your identity around disappears in less than a year?Dr. Susan Miele was a Chief People Officer at a Fortune 500 company. She reached the C suite before 40, which had been her goal since she was a teenager. Her career was not just what she did. It was who she was. Then at 42, undiagnosed perimenopause began dismantling everything. Her performance. Her marriage. Her sense of self. She resigned without a plan, downsized her life, and then watched her new home burn to the ground twelve days after moving in.In less than twelve months she lost her career, her health, and her home. What followed was not a reinvention. It was a pause. And that pause became the foundation for her book, Paused: Redefining Identity When Our Story No Longer Holds Us.In this conversation we get into the story she wrote for herself at fourteen and lived into for decades, what perimenopause really looks like when it does not look like what anyone told you to expect, why she spent seven years trying to get back to who she was before she realized there was no going back, the three questions that anchor identity, who am I, how did I get here, and where am I going, what it means to try on possible selves like clothes in a dressing room, and why the struggle is the path. This episode also touches on menopause in the workplace and why less than twenty percent of US companies currently offer any menopausal benefits, even as fifty percent of their workforce will experience it.If you have ever defined yourself by what you do and wondered who you would be without it, this conversation is for you.Connect with Susan: Website: www.susanmiele.com Substack: https://susanannmiele.substack.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/susan-a-miele-phd/LinkedIn Newsletter: https://www.linkedin.com/newsletters/paused-refections-on-identity-7318329934446276609/Susan A. What We Try to Possess Possesses Us.
There is a grand piano in your life that you keep trying to carry to the dining room.Maybe it is a career you walked away from but still dream about. Maybe it is clothes hanging in your closet from a chapter that is already closed. Maybe it is a story about who you are that you wrote a long time ago and have not been able to put down.In this episode we get into Aparigraha, the fifth and final Yama from the ancient yogic tradition, and what non attachment actually looks like in real life. Drawing on Deborah Adele's book The Yamas and Niyamas, we explore the difference between loving something fully and clinging to it, why letting go feels like being suspended in midair on a trapeze, and what a teenager with no plans for packing taught one of the wisest women I know about freedom.Plus a brief tease of next week's guest, who held on to a story she created at age fourteen for decades, and what it cost her.If you have ever thought you let go of something only to find it still showing up in your dreams, this one is for you.Visit abeautifulfix.com to explore the podcast, Human Design sessions, and retreat experiences.Want More?Grab your Human Design chart here: https://www.abeautifulfix.com/pages/hdchartWant to unpack it together? Non Excess: How to Stop Burning Your Energy on Things That Do Not Make You Come Alive
I am an Olympic level overthinker. If there were a medal for it I would have swept the podium by now. This Fourth of July I applied that skill to a single rib. Seven year vegetarian streak on the line. Barbecue sauce involved. The rib never got eaten. But it did teach me something about where my energy actually goes and why it matters.Today we are talking about Brahmacharya, the fourth Yama in the ancient yogic tradition, and what non excess actually looks like in everyday life. Not just with food. With your time, your mental energy, your busyness, and the decisions you have been running laps around for no good reason.Drawing on Deborah Adele's book The Yamas and Niyamas and a quote from Howard Thurman, this episode is an invitation to stop spending your energy on things that do not make you come alive so you actually have enough left for the things that do.Want More?Grab your Human Design chart here: https://www.abeautifulfix.com/pages/hdchartWant to unpack it together? You Do Not Have to Choose: Kim Waller on Having the Career and the Life
What if you never had to choose between the career you built and the life you actually want?Kim Waller spent more than three decades at the highest levels of corporate America, holding senior leadership roles at Aon, Willis Towers Watson, and Korn Ferry, helping organizations navigate transformation, inclusion, and culture change. And somewhere in the middle of all of that, she also built a lake house she calls the House of Healing, deepened a yoga practice that has sustained her through divorce, career pivots, and personal reinvention, and became a yoga teacher whose classes fill up every single week.In this conversation we get into what it really means to own your power, why self care is not a luxury but a leadership strategy, the role yoga and mindfulness played in keeping Kim grounded through decades of high pressure leadership, her thoughts on inclusion and why diversity drives high performance, what retirement actually looks like when you have been quietly building a full life all along, and why the most important thing you can do is trust that you have what you need. This is one of those conversations that makes you want to rethink how you have been spending your energy.Connect with Kim: LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/kim-waller-0498791 Website: meridianpathconsulting.comWant More?Grab your Human Design chart here: https://www.abeautifulfix.com/pages/hdchartWant to unpack it together? Four Ways You Are Stealing Your Own Peace Without Knowing It
I have a story I tell sometimes that gets the same reaction every single time. People ask me if I am crazy. It involves a $75 shirt, a register total that did not add up, and a decision that, looking back, taught me more about honesty than almost anything else in my life.Asteya, the third Yama in the Yoga Sutras, is what got me thinking about that story and it completely changed how I define stealing.Turns out there are four different ways we steal without realizing it, and most of them have nothing to do with a cash register. This episode gets into all four, drawing on Deborah Adele's book The Yamas and Niyamas, including the one that might be stealing your own peace right now.Want More?Grab your Human Design chart here: https://www.abeautifulfix.com/pages/hdchartWant to unpack it together? Stop Editing Yourself
Are you a good blender? Not the kitchen kind. The kind where you walk into a room and immediately start editing yourself down to something safer, smaller, and easier for everyone else to digest. In this episode we get into Satya, the second of the ancient yogic principles called the Yamas, and what truthfulness actually means when you apply it to yourself. Spoiler: it has nothing to do with being brutally honest with other people and everything to do with stopping the performance you have been giving your whole life. Embrace the Suck
Some seasons just suck. And if you are in one right now, this episode is for you.In this solo episode you are going to hear the story of Deanna, a woman who turned her husband's eight hour chemotherapy sessions into weekly picnic adventures, complete with a pretend flight to Italy, first class and coach included. Her story is going to change how you think about hard things. You are also going to learn why resisting the hard stuff makes it harder, what Buddhism and yogic philosophy have taught for thousands of years about suffering and attachment, and where the phrase embrace the suck actually came from. By the time this episode is over you will have a new framework for the hard seasons, a permission slip to stop labeling things as good or bad, and one practical question to ask yourself the next time life gets heavy. This one is for the woman in the middle of something hard who needs a reminder that getting through it is its own kind of beautiful.Want More?Grab your Human Design chart here: https://www.abeautifulfix.com/pages/hdchartWant to unpack it together? Mr. No Almost Won: What I Found When I Stopped Listening to the Voice in My Head
What would you do if the voice in your head talked you out of one of the most important moments of your life? In this episode I am taking you on a road trip to rural Tennessee — to a 1,400 acre spiritual retreat founded by world-renowned yogi Sadhguru, and to the back roads where my grandfather's land sits quiet and waiting. Two destinations. Two completely different kinds of humbling. And one voice I call Mr. No who almost made sure neither one happened. This is a story about fear, curiosity, ancestral connection, and what becomes possible when you stop listening to the chatter in your mind and go back anyway. If you have been waiting for a sign to explore something new, visit somewhere that is calling you, or simply be a beginner again — this one is for you.Want More?Grab your Human Design chart here: https://www.abeautifulfix.com/pages/hdchartWant to unpack it together? This Might Not Be a You Problem (It’s Your Nervous System) with Lori Montry
If you’ve ever felt stuck in the same patterns…overthinking, self-sabotage, burnout, or wondering why change feels so hard…this might not be a you problem. In this episode, I sit down with somatic healing practitioner Lori Montry to talk about something that’s changing the way more and more women understand themselves… the nervous system.Because if your body is operating in survival mode, no amount of mindset work, discipline, or “trying harder” is going to create lasting change.Lori breaks down what it really means to work with your nervous system, how patterns are formed, and why the behaviors you’ve been judging yourself for might actually be intelligent survival responses. We also talk about her Freedom Formula, a nervous system-based approach to creating sustainable change by focusing on safety, capacity, and energy first. This conversation will help you see yourself differently… with more compassion, more clarity, and a deeper understanding of what’s actually going on beneath the surface. In this episode, we talk about:• Why nervous system regulation matters more than mindset• What somatic healing actually is (and why it’s gaining so much attention)• How your body stores experiences and shapes your behavior• The difference between your Adaptive Self and Expansive Self• Why “fixing yourself” doesn’t work and what to do instead• The foundation needed for real, lasting change• How to start building a relationship with your bodyConnect with Lori:Website: www.LoriMontry.com Youtube: Lori Montry -Somatic Healing PractitionerFacebook: www.facebook.com/LoriMontry Instagram: LoriMontryFree Book Introduction: https://www.lorimontry.com/book-introWant More?Grab your Human Design chart here: https://www.abeautifulfix.com/pages/hdchartWant to unpack it together? Why Being Sensitive Is A Superpower (Inspired by My Conversation with Karen Blaine)
For years, I was told I needed to toughen up.I felt everything. Every shift in a room, every unspoken word, every emotion. And somewhere along the way, I learned that was “too much.”In this solo episode, I’m sharing a powerful conversation I had with Karen Blaine, a retired hypnotherapist and author who works with empaths and highly sensitive women. Due to audio issues, I wasn’t able to release the full interview, but the message was too important not to share. We talk about what it really means to be sensitive in today’s world, why empathy isn’t a weakness, and how your ability to feel deeply is actually a form of awareness, not something to fix.If you’ve ever been told you’re too sensitive… if you pick up on energy, emotions, and what’s not being said… this conversation will hit home.We also explore how this shows up through the lens of Human Design, including Reflectors and undefined solar plexus centers, and why what you feel in your body is valuable information you’re meant to trust. In This Episode:What it really means to be an empath or highly sensitive personWhy sensitivity and emotional awareness are not weaknessesHow to trust what you feel (instead of overriding it)The role of empathy in today’s worldHuman Design insights: Reflectors & undefined solar plexusLearning how to feel without carrying everythingConnect with Karen Blaine:Website: https://eternalempath.comBooks: https://www.amazon.com/stores/Karen-Blaine/author/B0B8XYZ123Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/eternalempathWant More?Grab your Human Design chart here: https://www.abeautifulfix.com/pages/hdchartWant to unpack it together? Waiting for Permission to Live Your Life?
What if the only thing standing between you and the life you want… is the permission you’re waiting for?In this solo episode of A Beautiful Fix, Tracy explores a pattern so many women fall into without even realizing it. Waiting for the right time. Waiting for clarity. Waiting for someone else to confirm what they already feel inside. From small everyday decisions to bigger life shifts, it’s easy to look outside ourselves for answers. But what happens when no one gives you the permission you’ve been waiting for? This episode is a real, honest conversation about self-trust, decision-making, and the subtle ways we outsource our power to external validation, expectations, and opinions.Tracy shares how this shows up in her own life, why it’s so common for women to second guess themselves, and how self-trust is actually built through small, consistent choices. She also introduces the concept of Human Design as a tool for understanding your unique decision-making style, helping you reconnect with your inner authority and trust the answers within. In this episode, we explore:• Why so many women wait for permission before making changes• How external validation keeps you stuck and second guessing yourself• The hidden ways you may be outsourcing your power• How self-trust is built in everyday decisions• Understanding your Human Design authority and inner guidance• What shifts when you stop waiting and start choosingIf you’ve been feeling stuck, overthinking your next move, or looking for clarity outside of yourself, this episode will help you reconnect with what you already know.Because the truth is… no one is coming. And maybe that’s the permission you’ve been waiting for.Want More?Grab your Human Design chart here: https://www.abeautifulfix.com/pages/hdchartWant to unpack it together? How High-Achieving Women Can Create a Fulfilling Career Without Burning Out with Carrie Fabris
What if the problem isn’t your job… but how you’re approaching it?In this episode of A Beautiful Fix, Tracy sits down with leadership coach, speaker, and author Carrie Fabris to talk about how high-achieving women can build a fulfilling career without burning out trying to do it all. After two decades in leadership roles at companies like Google, Travelocity, and Sabre, Carrie reached a turning point. One afternoon while pushing her daughter on a swing, she asked herself a powerful question: “If I could do absolutely anything, what would it be?”That moment sparked a reinvention that led her to launch CareerFrame, where she now helps leaders and organizations redefine success through energy, alignment, and sustainable leadership. In this conversation, Tracy and Carrie explore why so many women feel pressure to “do it all,” and why managing your energy may matter far more than managing your time.Carrie shares practical tools and mindset shifts including:• Why success without energy alignment leads to burnout• The difference between managing time vs. managing energy• Her Return on Energy (ROE) concept• The VIBE Checklist, a framework for evaluating where your energy goes• Why putting yourself first isn’t selfish, it’s necessary• How emotional intelligence shapes leadership and decision-makingCarrie also shares insights from her book ALL IN: A Working Mom’s Unapologetic Quest for a Juicy Life, where she explores how women can pursue ambitious careers while creating lives filled with energy, purpose, and joy.Connect with Carrie FabrisWebsite, Instagram, LinkedIn Free ResourceDownload Carrie’s VIBE Checklist.Get Carrie’s BookALL IN: A Working Mom’s Unapologetic Quest for a Juicy LifeWant More?Grab your Human Design chart here: https://www.abeautifulfix.com/pages/hdchartWant to unpack it together? What Will You Do With Your One Wild and Precious Life?
What Will You Do With Your One Wild and Precious Life?In this solo episode of A Beautiful Fix, Tracy Hill explores a powerful question that gets at the heart of purpose, self‑prioritization, and intentional living. Inspired by a line from poet Mary Oliver — “Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?” — Tracy reflects on what it truly means to choose yourself, face the fear of judgment, and live with more authenticity in 2026 and beyond. Building on her 2026 theme of bringing selfish back and letting go of other people’s opinions, Tracy breaks down this quote and offers gentle encouragement to rethink success, reclaim personal agency, and create a life that feels meaningful. This episode is perfect for listeners interested in intentional living, self‑care and self‑prioritization, overcoming fear of others’ opinions, and discovering purpose in everyday choices.Want More?Grab your Human Design chart here: https://www.abeautifulfix.com/pages/hdchartWant to unpack it together? Bringing Selfish Back: A Different Way to Start the New Year
I didn’t wake up on January 1st as a fully transformed version of myself. No perfect plan. No mapped-out year. No “new year, new me” energy. Instead, I felt tired, a little behind, and honestly ready to stop making myself wrong for choosing my own rhythm. In this first solo episode of 2026, I’m sharing a more honest way to begin the year. One that honors seasonal energy, personal pace, and the quiet wisdom of slowing down instead of forcing forward momentum. We talk about:Letting go of New Year pressure and unrealistic expectationsChoosing peace, slow, and calm instead of productivity and hustleWhat it really looks like to listen to yourself without guiltWhy being “selfless” has been glorified at the expense of women’s well-beingReclaiming the word selfish in a grounded, responsible, self-trusting wayThis episode introduces a theme I’m leaning into deeply this year: bringing selfish back. Not the reckless kind. The honest kind. The kind where you stop overriding your body, intuition, and truth just to keep everyone else comfortable. If you’re feeling tired of performing, tired of pressure, or tired of postponing yourself, this conversation is an invitation to do less on purpose and start the year in a way that actually feels good.Want More?Grab your Human Design chart here: https://www.abeautifulfix.com/pages/hdchartWant to unpack it together? Is Hidden Shame Running the Show Behind the Scenes?
Is Hidden Shame Running the Show Behind the Scenes?Shame doesn’t always show up as shame. Sometimes it disguises itself as overthinking, perfectionism, people-pleasing, or playing small. In this powerful panel conversation hosted by Dana Fradella, I sat down with a group of brilliant women to talk about the many faces of shame — the conscious, the unconscious, and the ones we didn’t know we were still carrying. We talked about what it really means to release shame, how it lingers in the body, and why remembering your worth isn’t just a mindset shift — it’s a whole-body experience.Spoiler: I shared things I didn’t plan to share. Dana has a way of drawing that out of you.If you’ve ever said, “I don’t really struggle with shame,” this might be the exact episode for you.PS — If you’ve been thinking about booking a 1:1 Human Design session, now’s the time. Why Every Woman Needs a Retreat: What I Found (and Faced) in the Middle of Nowhere
Amish country. Snowstorm. Midnight hot tubbing. That’s how this retreat started—and somehow, it turned into one of the most important resets I’ve had all year.In this solo episode, I’m pulling back the curtain on my recent retreat experience: the misadventures getting there, the big (and small) realizations that hit me once I arrived, and why I’m officially convinced everyone needs to book a retreat for themselves in 2026—or whenever you’re ready. You’ll hear what really happens when you give yourself time to get quiet, tune in, and choose yourself without guilt. Spoiler: it’s not all face masks and journaling. It’s bigger than that.I’m also celebrating a major milestone—A Beautiful Fix just passed 5,000 downloads and is streaming in 50 countries and over 575 cities—and it’s all because of you.So grab your earbuds, let’s talk gratitude, selfishness (in the best way), and what it means to make space for something new. What a Hans Zimmer Concert Reminds Us About the Beauty of Being Different
I thought I was going to a concert.Turns out, I walked into a full-body, soul-stirring reminder of what makes life beautiful. This episode is about music, yes—but more than that, it’s about energy. It’s about what happens when contrast, complexity, and wildly different humans come together to create something breathtaking. From global musicians on stage to the sea of strangers in the arena… this night hit me right in the heart. And it made me wonder:What if our differences aren’t something to tolerate—but the whole point?I’m sharing the experience that left me speechless in the parking lot afterward… and why I think it holds a message we all need right now. No politics. Just perspective. And maybe a little goosebumps.Tune in if you need a beautiful reminder that sameness isn’t the goal. What if you Hold the Answers?
What If You Hold the Answers? This week, I’m sharing something really personal—how I went from always knowing who I was… to waking up one day completely disconnected from myself. Somewhere between marriage, motherhood, career shifts, and deep loss, I stopped trusting my inner voice. So I started searching—everywhere—books, podcasts, advice, courses, crystals, Google. And the more I searched, the further I got from me.In this episode, I talk about what it took to come back to myself, how Human Design helped me remember what was already in me, and why your answers probably aren’t out there—they’re inside you.If you’ve ever felt stuck, lost, or like you can’t hear yourself anymore… this one’s for you.Want More?Grab your Human Design chart here: https://www.abeautifulfix.com/pages/hdchartWant to unpack it together?
