He reminds them that the Lord is faithful and will strengthen and guard them from the evil one. Paul also addresses disorderly living among some who were refusing to work and becoming busybodies. He calls the church to live responsibly, not grow weary in doing good, and correct disorder with love and firmness. 2 Thessalonians 3:13 says, “Brothers, do not grow weary in doing good.” This chapter reminds us that faithfulness is not only about what we believe, but how we live. Some were confused, thinking that the day had already come. Paul corrects them by reminding them that deception will come, rebellion will appear, and the man of lawlessness will be revealed before the Lord’s return. But Paul does not leave them in fear.
