Do you ever have these ridiculous moments in your friendships that you think will stay a joke between the two of you forever and ever and then suddenly you find yourself telling it on a very public platform... like, say, a podcast?  Ex. Q: What do you get when you put two best friends in a room with a lighter?  A: A prophetic act to burn man-made labels and replace them with the truth of our God-given design. Once the smoke cleared, not only could we breathe again, but we could also see more clearly how God is doing this for all of us! Labels can be subtle little things that are spoken over us, sometimes maliciously but often innocently too, so we take them and wear them like badges. The trouble is that we never ask God if they're what HE'S thinking about us.  We've been on quite the journey the last three weeks that led us here—to dismantling the labels so that we can step into our true identities, not just individually but together, too! On this special podcast spotlight, I am so excited for you to meet my (Tabatha’s) dear friend Lisa Cowling, as she releases a powerful, right now word from the Lord for the women of God. Okay, let's face it. No one likes to feel weak, walked on, or mistreated. Feeling powerful is a much better way to protect ourselves, right? But God doesn't want us to just feel powerful, He wants us to BE powerful. And that looks a little different than how most Christians go about it. This week God is showing us that the way to TRUE power, where the fruit of the Spirit is bursting from our lives to yield what it's supposed to, is found in this word: Vulnerability.  That might seem a little odd, and if we're honest, not very exciting and maybe even a little "ummm, no thank you." But hang on. God is leading us to a special place together of unbridled force through surrender that's not weak, passive, or boring. He's showing us that the way to powerful living is through opening our hearts so that heaven opens over us. This might be vulnerability the way you haven't quite heard it talked about before.  "Always be humble (lowly) and gentle (meek). Be patient (longsuffering) with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love." Well, as we so often say around here, God rarely lets us talk about a topic we don't first have to DO. We are Friendship in Motion after all! And this week, God called a big "change of play" through a friend. We were stunned, a little breathless, relieved, scared, excited, and oh so grateful!   In this season of Quick Turnarounds, we can't be confused when we start walking one way, only to have God call an audible and tell us to turn it around! This is strategy, but if we don't know that, we'll stay stuck in confusion. That's the enemy's inheritance, not ours!   Turnaround - noun  1. an abrupt or unexpected change, especially one that results in a more favorable situation.  2. the process of completing or the time needed to complete a task, especially one involving receiving something, processing it, and sending it out again.  When God calls an audible, it's our job to listen and respond quickly and courageously, remembering always that it's to keep us safe and move us to a more favorable place! There might be a way to keep your New Year's Resolutions this year. We know, we know, some of you love this time of year when goals are set, resolutions are made, and words for the new year are optimistically etched into your journals for safe keeping. But if you're like us, maybe you're a terrible goal setter! If so, you are not alone, friend.    We figured the best way for us to explode into the New Year is to ditch the normal resolutions for some good old-fashioned God-revelation. That's something we can actually keep!  So join us for this New Year's Eve special episode as we break down some of the top resolutions Flaws style. Let's see what God is saying and help each other tackle this year with a little bit of accountability (but not too much, y'all) and a whole lot of fun! 

What does it mean to be a "prophetic" friendship podcast? What does it mean to be a prophetic people? And why should you even care?! Well, we'll tell you, friends. There are so many things available to us in the Kingdom as Spirit-filled believers that we aren't accessing because we don't know that we can! Today, we banter (or, as Tabatha likes to say, we "blah-blah") back-and-forth about what it means to be women who hear the voice of God and move in the NOW word of the Lord together under the "palm tree" (Tabatha again) of Friendship. We're very thankful for living imagery around here.  So, from Blah-Blah's to Palm Trees, May Your Holidays Be Merry, Bright, and Prophetically Accurate! 

Should we feel guilty about using our God-given abilities and talents to make money? So much confusion and controversy surrounds this topic in Christian circles, so when the question came to us from one of our friends, we couldn't wait to put our Friendship two-cents in!  The Bible says that God gives us the ability to create wealth (Deut. 8:18) and Jesus didn't hold back much in Matthew 25 when He called the servant who failed to multiply his money "wicked and slothful."  We don't want anyone around here being called wicked and slothful, friends. So, as any two good, opinionated friends should, we kept digging to get to the root of mindsets that keep us stuck and feeling guilty. When we have a healthy understanding of WHY God gives us abilities to make money, then we can become extravagant givers and resource centers for the blessings of God to flow.  Isn't that what we all want? We know we do! Big shout out to our friend Kiersten who challenged us this week! We loved it!

We had fun with this one! Looking at some common advice out there in Friendship Land, we busted up a few myths that are almost true... but not quite! It's so easy to get swept away in what sounds good because honestly, there can be a lot of truth in conventional wisdom. BUT, when filtered through the Holy Spirit, it may not be quite as true as it sounds. As Christian women who are called to live and think higher, we have to soar above the noise to gain insight the world doesn't have so we can do what the world can't do!  This episode will help you filter out the good from the God. This isn't your typical Thanksgiving podcast, and we are over-flowingly grateful for that. Does absence really make the heart grow fonder? What about in our friendships? Can friends survive physical distance but stay emotionally connected or vice versa? On this episode, Tabatha and Stacey kick around a topic from a teen flick that Tabatha watched from her sick bed this week. We mention them all the time, but today we're exploring them side-by-side so that we understand the kind of adventure God is calling us to together. We're pulling the plug on normal Friendship and "nouning" and "verbing" our way to deep connection and motion! So come along, Var! 

Nothing can kill a Friendship quite like the Comparison game. If she's pretty, I must be ugly. If she's smart, I must be dumb. If she's good at this, then I must be bad at it. A thousand little thoughts (LIES!) like these and you're doomed, and that just won't do in Friendship HAVAR Land, where we are called to pull the load side-by-side and together!  Aaaand you can't say we don't live out what we preach real good around here. It was Stacey's bright idea to talk about comparison, which landed us right smack dab in the middle of a Friendship fight during our first attempt at recording (for real). We pushed pause, got back our WE, hugged tight, and tried again. So, don't mind our kids Gabriel (4) and Addie (15) riding skateboards upstairs during this recording; we had to do an emergency late night Podcast session to make up for our Blow Up Gone Good. And it DID end up good. 

Sometimes it's hard to know how and where to move forward in our lives and friendships, but this week we just might have found a clue to help us. It's found in the word "zakhar," which means "to remember." Following the roots of our past helps us move forward in confidence, and it prevents us from making really dumb decisions in the present... just ask Stacey! Thank God Tabatha remembered who we are and saved us. Let's take some guidance from Hebrew culture this week and remember so that we can move forward in the fruit of our roots together.

Every one of us should find joy and fulfillment in both relationships without feeling guilty that BOTH are needed, wanted, and bring us life!

We remember when this happened to us—both of us in our own boats, doing our own thing, when Jesus said, "Hey, you two, drop what you're doing and come with Me... together!" Little did we know all those years ago the sacrifices it would take but how much greater the "Kingdom catch" would be! Do you want to know what to do when you get yourself into a friendship pickle?! Well for starters, you can try not listening to this podcast! :) Sometimes it's okay to commit to something simply because your friend asks you to, but we are learning (through much pain and gnashing of teeth) that as God calls us deeper and higher together, no decision should be made lightly, and that sometimes the best thing you can do for your friend is to STAY when God calls her to GO. 

We have all been bogged down by struggles and challenges along life's journey, but when we allow our Faith to be our guide, we break free from the burdens that try to weigh us down, and we run the race that God has placed before us with endurance.

We are in a remarkable new season where we get to exchange old ways for new, striving for rest, and limitation for freedom from all the things that have held us back.  The calendar year has been reset, and with it comes the grace to abide in Jesus and align with others who are on the same mission as us.  Friendship has never been so important!

In moments of chaos and every kind of disorder, God will set apart persons to accomplish a holy work on the earth. If you haven't noticed, we are living in one of those moments now. The times are ripe for mighty women of valor to arise in power, to come forth in purpose, and to carry out holy assignments.
