    Apara Ekadashi

🪷 “Apara Ekadashi is the axe that cuts down the fully grown tree of sinful actions; it is the sun that rises before the darkness of one’s wicked deeds, and it is the lion stalking the deer of godlessness.”(Brahmanda Purana)

    Mohini Ekadashi

Mohini Ekadashi 🍃🪷 Ekadashi is an important spiritual day observed each month on the eleventh day of the lunar phase, both during the waxing and waning moon. It is a time when devotees around the world fast, abstaining from grains and legumes, which helps purify both the body and the mind. The mind, being by nature not spiritual but material, is influenced by everything we consume—food, thoughts, and even our associations. This is a wonderful opportunity to deepen one’s spiritual practice, make donations, and listen to the teachings (katha) of spiritual masters.🪷 Mohini Ekadashi, like all Ekadashis, is dedicated to serving the Lord. It is named so because on this day Lord Vishnu once assumed the form of Mohini Murti, a beautiful enchantress, and performed His divine pastime (lila) with the gods and demons as they were dividing the nectar of immortality—amrita. Devotees make offerings of sandalwood, sesame seeds, bright flowers, and fruits. Offering leaves of the sacred Tulasi plant is considered especially auspicious, as it is particularly dear to the Lord. On this day, devotees also worship Rama, one of His incarnations.🪷 On this Ekadashi, special blessings are bestowed. When Ramachandra was separated from His wife Sita Devi, He suffered deeply. He asked the sage Vashistha what He should do to find peace and overcome His sorrow. Vashistha Muni replied that Mohini Ekadashi is specifically meant to relieve such suffering. By observing it, one can break free from the nets of illusion, overcome mental distress, and be liberated from sorrow and grief.#MohiniEkadashi #fasting #Rama

    Varuthini Ekadashi

The word “Varuthini” can be translated as “that which gives protection” or “one who safeguards.” It is believed that observing a fast and offering worship on this day grants a person protection from evil, spiritual growth, removal of negative karma, and the blessings of Lord Vishnu. This Ekadashi is especially revered for its power to remove misfortune, illness, and fear, and to bestow success and prosperity.📖 According to the Padma Purana, when King Mandata observed the fast of Varuthini Ekadashi, he was freed from all sins and attained Vaikuntha—the abode of Vishnu. It is also said in the scriptures that even those who simply hear about the glories of Varuthini Ekadashi gain merit equal to performing great sacrifices. On the day of Varuthini Ekadashi, it is recommended to observe a fast—ideally abstaining completely from food and water, or following a lighter fast that includes only water, fruits, and nuts. The morning begins with bathing and chanting mantras dedicated to Lord Vishnu, especially the mantra “Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya.” Offerings of food, flowers, and lamps are also made to Him. Devotees often try to remain awake throughout the night, engaging in reading sacred texts and singing bhajans. On this day, it is especially important to maintain peace in thoughts and actions, show kindness, avoid lying, anger, and harsh behavior, and, if possible, perform acts of charity.#ekadashi #varuthini

    Kamada Ekadashi

Kamada Ekadashi possesses such purifying power that it bestows the highest merit on those who sincerely observe it.The Padma Purana confirms this effect of Ekadashi: "By fasting on Ekadashi in childhood, youth, and old age, one is undoubtedly freed from the suffering of material existence."📕In the story of Kamada Ekadashi, we see an example of a wife observing Ekadashi for the benefit of her husband and giving him the fruits of her austerity, because the husband, due to a curse, has fallen into such a state that he is unable to observe Ekadashi himself. And if you also have a loved one whom you want to help, but they themselves are unable to observe Ekadashi for some reason, you can observe Ekadashi for them.🕊️The one for whom fasting is done attains complete merit. By fasting for the benefit of her husband, a wife receives 100 times more benefit than by fasting for her own sake; her husband also receives benefit from fasting. This is the conclusion of great sages well versed in the scriptures." (Vayu Purana)

    Papā Vimochanī Ekādaśī

The story of Papā Vimochanī Ekādaśī is described in the Bhaviṣya-uttara Purāṇa and is narrated by Lord Krishna to King Yudhiṣṭhira. In the beautiful Chaitraratha forest, a sage named Medhavi performed deep austerities. The forest was visited by celestial beings, including heavenly dancers (apsarās).One apsarā, Manjughosha, tried to disturb the sage’s meditation by singing and playing the veena. Eventually the sage became enchanted and forgot his spiritual practices, spending many years with her. When he finally realized how much time had passed, he became angry and cursed her to become a pishachini (a ghost-like being). The apsarā begged for forgiveness, and the sage told her that she could be freed from the curse by observing Papā Vimochanī Ekādaśī fast.Later Medhavi also felt remorse and asked his father Chyavana Ṛṣi how to atone for his mistake. His father advised him to observe the same Ekādaśī fast. Both the sage and the apsarā observed the fast with devotion. As a result:the sage was purified from his sinsManjughosha regained her celestial formboth received spiritual purification. The name Papā Vimochanī literally means “the Ekādaśī that frees one from sins.”

    Amalaki Ekadashi

🪷 In the Vedic tradition, observing a fast on Ekadashi is considered very auspicious. Strict fasting, meditation, and prayer on Ekadashi help purify the soul and free one from sinful reactions accumulated over many lifetimes. It is said that papa (“sin”) enters grains and legumes on this day, therefore one should refrain from eating them. Sins not only limit a person’s spiritual progress but also create obstacles in life and bring suffering to living beings.

  7. 23

    Vijaya Ekadashi

🏹 Vijaya Ekadashi is observed during the Krishna Paksha (waning phase of the moon) in the month of Phalguna. The name vijayā (Sanskrit: विजय) means “victory” and points to its spiritual significance — attaining success through discipline, humility, and reliance on Divine grace.📖 According to the Skanda Purana, before setting out for Lanka, Lord Rama observed this fast on the advice of the sage Bakadalbhya. The observance of this vow preceded the building of the bridge across the ocean and His victory over Ravana. Traditionally, this narrative emphasizes that outer victory is preceded by inner focus and spiritual preparation.✨ This Ekadashi teaches us:
— Before an important step, spiritual awareness is essential.
— True victory comes through humility and devotion.
— When the Lord is at the center of our lives, obstacles become surmountable.🪷 The practice of Vijaya Ekadashi includes abstaining from grains and legumes, increasing prayer and mantra meditation, and reading sacred texts, especially the pastimes of Lord Rama.

    Jaya Ekadashi

Vedic literature describes that observing fast on Ekadashi destroys all sins. Lord Shri Krishna pleases very much with this fast and bestows eternal blessings to the devotees. In each month, fast observation and worship of Lord Shri Krishna on every Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha and Krishna Paksha are prescribed as per Vedic injunction. There are incalculable benefits of Ekadashi. Ekadashi fast frees one from all sins and transcends this vast ocean of material existence.

    Śaṭ-tilā Ekādaśī

📆 Each month there are two Ekādaśīs: one during the dark half of the month and one during the bright half. Both carry the same potency and bestow spiritual benefit.✨ Śaṭ-tilā Ekādaśī is observed on the 11th day of Kṛṣṇa Pakṣa (the waning phase of the moon) in the month of Māgha according to the Hindu calendar, which usually falls in January in the Gregorian calendar. The name comes from two words: śaṭ — six, and tilā — sesame seeds, which possess auspicious qualities. On this day, sesame seeds are used in six different ways. Charity involving sesame seeds given to those in need is considered especially significant. On this Ekādaśī, there is also a tradition in which those who observe the fast offer water and sesame seeds to their parents and ancestors.Ekādaśī days are highly auspicious for our spiritual practice and for service to the Lord.

    Putrada Ekadashi

Fasting on this day bestows sons.👨‍👩‍👦On this Ekadashi, married couples desiring a son pray to Lord Vishnu. Husbands and wives hoping to conceive a boy observe complete abstinence from food for 24 hours. Even those who do not fast on this day are advised to abstain from grains, legumes, rice, certain vegetables, and seasonings. It is advisable to visit Vishnu temples, where festive pujas and kirtans are held on this day.Spiritualists observe this fast to attain God’s mercy and be freed from the illusion of the material world. Therefore, Ekadashi is called “the best of all opportunities.”

    Saphala Ekadashi

«...no sacrifice or pilgrimage can bring merit equal to or greater than that of fasting on Saphala Ekadashi.» — Supreme Lord Sri Krishna.

    Mokshada Ekadashi

🪷 Ekadashi comes twice a month — on the 11th lunar day of the waxing and waning moon. These days are considered sacred and carry immense spiritual power. Everything we do — whether good or negative — becomes greatly amplified. Anyone who has ever fasted on Ekadashi knows how perception changes, how the mind becomes calm, and how the energies and doshas within the body become harmonized.🪷 Each Ekadashi has its own special significance. On the material level, we become cleansed of past sins, while on the level of the soul, Ekadashi awakens within us a deeper desire to serve the Lord.‼️The fast is usually observed by refraining from grains and beans. Some eat only once a day, some drink only water, and some abstain from food completely. The Vedas explain that different levels of fasting give different results. The Skanda Purana states:
✨ “If a person eats once a day, the consequences of sins from one lifetime are destroyed.
If one eats only in the evening — two lifetimes.
And if one fully fasts — the sinful reactions of seven lifetimes are eliminated.”📖 Mokshada Ekadashi is the day when Lord Krishna revealed the sacred Bhagavad-gita to Arjuna, granting knowledge and liberation. This Ekadashi guides us toward the path of true spiritual freedom.
May this holy day fill your heart with peace and devotion. 🙏✨Jai Shri Mokshada Ekadashi!!!
Jai Srimad Bhagavad-gita!!!

    Utpanna Ekadashi

🪷Sri Utpanna Ekadashi is the 11th day of the waning moon in the month of Margashirsha (November–December), marking the birth of Ekadashi Devi, the personification of the Ekadashi fast. It is considered the first Ekadashi and is observed by fasting and worshipping Lord Vishnu to cleanse sins and gain spiritual benefits. Significance * Birth of Ekadashi Devi: The festival commemorates the manifestation of Ekadashi Devi from Lord Vishnu’s body to defeat the demon Mura, an event that gives birth to the sacred Ekadashi fast.* Spiritual cleansing: Fasting on this day is believed to destroy sins from many lifetimes, providing liberation and spiritual awakening.* * Start of the devotional cycle: It is regarded as the first Ekadashi of the year, signifying the beginning of the devotional cycle for devotees to re-engage with discipline and spiritual practice. 📖According to spiritual scriptures, the Lord gave humanity the days of Ekadashi so that souls burdened by earthly karma and material attachments could advance spiritually. Ekadashi in no way conflicts with any religious belief. Ayurvedic doctors recommend these days; fasting harmonizes the doshas of the body and calms the mind. There are different ways to observe the Ekadashi fast: some fast completely, some only water, and others only grains and legumes. It all depends on your health, willpower, and motivation.🔥The days of Ekadashi are energetically very powerful, and those who know cannot help but use them to strengthen their spiritual practice and self-improvement. During this time, all good and bad deeds are magnified tenfold. It is very beneficial to read spiritual texts and listen to the Guru, as they can reveal true knowledge to us.🙏
