Life and Bullshyt 🫶🏼

Welcome to You Belong Here — a podcast for the overthinkers, the anxious minds, the exhausted parents, and the people simply trying to heal, grow, understand themselves, and find a little more peace in this strange human experience.I’m not a doctor, therapist, or guru. I’m just a stay-at-home mom of two young girls trying to navigate life, emotions, relationships, nervous system overload, healing, and everything in between. Recently, I’ve become deeply fascinated by the human brain, neuroplasticity, and the ways we can slowly begin rewiring the patterns that keep us stuck. I’d love to share some of the things that have helped me along the way, and if this podcast helps even one person feel less alone, then it’s worth it.This is a space for honesty, growth, humor, compassion, self-awareness, and learning how to carry life a little lighter — together.

The Adult Version of Feeling Left Out

We usually think of being left out as something that happens on the playground or in high school, but what if that feeling never really leaves us?In this episode, I’m talking about something that’s been sitting heavy on my heart lately—the feeling of being excluded, forgotten, or wondering where exactly we fit in.Nobody is blaming anyone here. In fact, sometimes the people around us haven’t done anything wrong at all. But old wounds have a funny way of showing up in present moments, and our minds can quickly turn uncertainty into a story. This isn’t an episode about having all the answers. It’s an honest conversation about belonging, connection, overthinking, and the part of us that still wants to feel chosen. If you’ve ever questioned your place in a friendship, a group, a relationship, or even in the world around you, this one is for you.

    Confessions from an overwhelmed mom

Some days parenting feels magical.Other days you vacuum the floor, walk into another room, and discover your child has peeled an entire pile of crayons, left the wrappers everywhere, and somehow decided licking a crayon was a good idea. This isn’t a parenting advice episode. It’s an honest conversation about exhaustion, guilt, boundaries, and the overwhelming feeling that no matter how much you clean, the mess keeps coming back.As a mom of two, I’ve started asking myself some difficult questions. Have I confused boundaries with being mean? Am I too soft? Why is it so hard to hold the line when I know my kids need structure? If you’ve ever looked around your house and wondered if you’re the only parent struggling to keep up, this episode is for you.

    The Mind Body Connection

Sometimes it feels like my body and brain are speaking two different languages. In this episode, I share my thoughts on the mind-body connection, the nervous system, and why certain emotional and physical patterns can be so difficult to change. If you’ve ever wondered why you feel stuck in cycles of stress, worry, exhaustion, or overwhelm, this conversation might resonate with you.

  4. 11

    Who Unplugged My Battery?

Do you ever wake up feeling like someone unplugged your battery? In this episode, I’m talking about those days when your energy is gone before the day has even really started. Whether you’re navigating parenthood, summer break, work, stress, or just the everyday grind of being human, sometimes you simply have nothing left in the tank—and that’s okay. This isn’t an episode about fixing yourself. It’s a conversation about giving yourself permission to slow down, be honest about how you’re feeling, and remember that you’re not alone. If you’ve been feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, or just a little disconnected lately, this one’s for you.

    Trauma, Memory, and Moving Forward

Everybody has something.A memory, an experience, a moment that changed them.In this episode, I explore trauma, memory, and why our minds sometimes hold onto experiences long after they’ve ended. This isn’t a lesson or a lecture—it’s a personal conversation about healing, curiosity, and learning that we’re not defined by what happened to us.

  6. 9

    Grief and Loss

If you’re grieving, know that you’re not alone. This conversation is for anyone who’s ever lost someone they love and wondered how to keep going when a piece of their heart is missing.

    Did I Do Something Wrong?

Have you ever found yourself replaying a conversation over and over, wondering if you did something wrong? In this episode, I share a strange interaction with an old friend that left me confused, hurt, and questioning myself. We explore why uncertainty is so uncomfortable, the stories we create when we don’t have all the facts, and why sometimes we never get the answers we’re looking for.

  8. 7

PMDD, PMS, and Feeling Like a Stranger in Your Own Body

This one is personal. In this episode, I’m talking about PMS, PMDD, mom guilt, exhaustion, depersonalization, and feeling like a completely different person for part of the month. If you’ve ever cried for no reason, questioned yourself, or wondered why everything suddenly feels harder, this conversation is for you.

  9. 6

    On My Last Nerve

Summer break is here, and so is the constant chorus of “Mom!” In this honest conversation, I share what happens when my patience runs thin, my nervous system gets overloaded, and I realize the difference between reacting and resetting. A reminder that taking a breath is sometimes the most productive thing you can do.

  10. 5

Why Do We Judge Other People?

In this episode, I explore the surprisingly human reasons we judge other people, from parenting and social media to neuroscience, nervous system regulation, and the stories our brains create about the people around us. Along the way, I share a very real parenting moment that reminded me just how quickly judgment can sneak in—and why awareness might be the first step toward compassion.

Sometimes our best teachers are children 🩷 Meditation from my beautiful 9 year old 🩷

Today’s meditation is a very special one for me. This guided meditation was created and narrated by my daughter, Sophia, and as her mom, I couldn’t be more proud of the kindness, creativity, and heart she poured into it. I wanted to share it here on the podcast because sometimes the simplest voices carry the most beautiful reminders—to slow down, breathe, and find a little peace in the middle of a busy day.I love that she is learning through watching me and she asked me to post this. I could not be more proud. 🫶🏼

    Spirituality, Curiosity, and the Unknown

This week, I’m stepping outside my comfort zone and talking about spirituality, past lives, and the possibility that there may be more to life than we fully understand. Inspired by Dr. Brian Weiss’s Many Lives, Many Masters, my own experiences, and a journey that began during one of the hardest times in my life, this episode isn’t about having answers—it’s about staying curious, asking questions, and exploring new ideas with an open mind.

The one thing you can’t get back….. Time

Have you ever stopped to think about how you’re spending your time? In this episode, Janine explores why time may be our most valuable resource, how mindfulness helps us slow down enough to truly experience life, and why the little moments often become the ones that matter most. A thoughtful, relatable conversation about being present before life passes by on autopilot.

  14. 1

How you do anything is how you do everything

Have you ever stopped to think about the small choices you make when nobody’s watching? In this episode, I explore the idea that how we do the little things may shape who we become, and why growth often starts with simple acts of integrity.
