EP. 39: “He Says I Changed After Kids… I Think He Misses His ‘Barbie Doll’ Version of Me”

I was shocked when I read the title of this Reddit story! My daughter brought it to my attention, and I knew I had to make a podcast episode about it. Not just because I’m a relationship coach, but because I’ve lived through this before, too. I’ve had the “you changed” conversation before. And the more I work with couples, the more I see this conversation come up. And honestly, it’s normal! Because we are all changing all the time. So how do we work through this period of change without resenting each other? In this week’s episode, we’re talking about the Reddit story, “He Says I Changed After Kids… I Think He Misses His ‘Barbie Doll’ Version of Me.” First of all, you can tell the author of this post is hurting. But I don’t entirely think it’s her husband's fault. Actually, I don’t think it’s anyone’s fault. Tune in to this week’s episode to hear my thoughts on this shocking Reddit story and what solutions I have for this couple during this season of change. How to work with Odette:Book a free consultation call for the Next Level Woman: Life & Love by Design Experience here!Check out more information on the Next Level Woman: Life & Love by Design Experience, Odette’s six-month coaching program, here!Book a consultation call for Odettes’s Life Coaching Services here! Book a consultation call for Odettes’s Couples Coaching Services here! Sign up for a Complimentary RELATIONSHIP & LIFE ALIGNMENT AUDITBuy the Re-ignite Your Spark Journal here! Follow Odette on:Instagram @‌odettecoronelcoachingTikTok @‌odetterelationshipcoach   LinkedIn: Odette CoronelWebsite:www.odettecoronel.comPodcast production for this episode was provided by CCST, an Afro-Latina-owned boutique podcast production and copywriting studio.

EP. 38: Reclaim Your Power & Become the Next Level Woman

Reclaiming your power is about more than blaming others for your problems. It’s about giving yourself the life you’ve always wanted. The life you’ve put on the back burner and now have the motivation to make it happen for yourself. So many of my clients say that they want to make a personal transformation. They want to treat themselves better, they want to deepen their relationships, and they want to be more fulfilled. Which is why they joined the Next Level Program. In this week’s episode, we’re talking about how to reclaim your power and become the Next Level woman. The life you want is within your reach! You just need the guidance and structure to make it happen. In the Next Level Woman program, I’ll guide you through the 5 Pillars I use to set my clients up for success. Tune in to hear more about how to reclaim your power and how we’ll use the 5 Pillars to design your most amazing life! Follow Odette on:Instagram @‌odettecoronelcoachingTikTok @‌odetterelationshipcoach   LinkedIn: Odette CoronelWebsite: www.odettecoronel.comPodcast production for this episode was provided by CCST, an Afro-Latina-owned boutique podcast production and copywriting studio.

EP. 37: What If the Problem Isn't Them? Stop Focusing on Everyone Else's Faults

Every single person I know does the same thing. They believe that they know all their loved one’s faults. Not only that, they attach meaning to all those faults. So “he’s home late” becomes “he doesn’t want to spend time with me.” There’s always a problem, and it’s never their fault. It’s always someone else causing the issues. But what if that wasn’t true? What if this funny little habit of blaming someone else was the cause of their distance? In this week’s episode, we’re exploring the question: what if the problem isn’t them? If your partner isn’t the problem, and the meaning you created is actually the problem, maybe you are the one causing the problems in the relationship. I’ve noticed that a few of my clients are focusing on everyone else’s faults when, really, they need to look inward to find a solution. Tune in to this week’s episode to hear why your partner isn’t the problem and how to identify when you are actually creating the problems.

EP. 36: What Your Resentment is Trying to Tell You

Resentment is a common feeling in relationships. It happens when one or both partners feel like they aren’t being appreciated by the other, and they don’t know how to fix it. That’s where I come in. Resenting your partner doesn’t mean you have to end the relationship. I rarely see partners who resent each other break up after relationship coaching. Because resentment isn’t an emotion that automatically triggers divorce. It is, however, a catalyst for change. In this week’s episode, we’re talking about what your resentment is trying to tell you. I have a couple I’ve been coaching through a season of resentment, and I thought that by sharing it, I could help more couples take the first step towards mending their relationships. This is all anonymous, of course, but I will be sharing the strategies used to help my clients identify their resentment and how they could heal their relationship. Tune in to hear what this couple's resentment was telling them and how I coached them through this season of resentment towards a healthier version of their relationship. Follow Odette on: Instagram @‌odettecoronelcoachingTikTok @‌odetterelationshipcoach   LinkedIn: Odette CoronelWebsite: www.odettecoronel.comPodcast production for this episode was provided by CCST, an Afro-Latina-owned boutique podcast production and copywriting studio.

EP. 35: Why Successful, High-Achieving Women Attract Disloyal Men

Shakira, Beyoncé, and Megan Thee Stallion have all been publicly cheated on, and that kind of betrayal can send shockwaves out to all of womankind. These are the most beautiful, talented, successful women in their fields, and they STILL got cheated on. If they are not worthy of loyalty, who is? That’s exactly the question I want to dissect today, specifically because it’s the wrong one. You did not make your partner cheat on you. And I’m sure you’ve heard that you have to do everything you can to keep a man, even if it means compromising your success. But not even that will save you, because your success is not the reason why men cheat. In this week’s episode, we’re talking about why successful, high-achieving women attract disloyal men. I believe that is the right question we should be asking ourselves. Rather than blame the woman for the man’s behavior, we should look at what qualities disloyal men are targeting and how you can protect yourself from someone who may want to take advantage of you. Tune in to find out what you’re doing to attract cheaters, and what you can do about it.

EP. 34: What If You’re Not Burnt Out From Life… But From Pretending?

So many women have been taught to hold everything in. We are told to be palatable and keep our emotions to ourselves because it would be better for everyone else around us if we just pretended that everything was ok, even when it’s not. Screw that! If you find yourself disconnected from your body, unable to feel joy, and can’t help but feel that something is profoundly wrong, it may be that you’re lying to yourself. You are telling yourself that everything is ok, because you were conditioned to pretend and be palatable. But that habit is eating you alive, and together, we can stop it for good. In this week’s episode, we’re talking about what if you’re not burnt out from life but from pretending. Pretending that everything is ok when it's not is only going to hurt you. There’s no upside! It’s time to take control of your own emotions and your own needs today. Tune in to hear how you can stop lying to yourself and how to safely embrace the feelings you’ve been avoiding.

EP. 33: Dancing With Grief: Healing Through Movement, Loss & Presence with Natalie Caruncho

Grief came very quickly for this week’s guest. Natalie’s mother was suddenly diagnosed with stage four cancer and passed away earlier than anyone would have expected her to. Natalie, as a grieving daughter, is not only holding space for this grief and healing from it, but also allowing it to create space for more compassion and more dancing in her life.   Natalie Caruncho is a Broadway performer, an associate choreographer, and a Yoga teacher, originally from Miami, FL. Currently based in Brooklyn, NY. She grew up dancing and has had the privilege of working on some beautiful stages. She currently performs on Broadway in Buena Vista Social Club and as Associate Choreographer for Moulin Rouge. Favorite performance credits include: On Your Feet (Original Broadway Company), In The Heights 1st National Tour (Ensemble; u/s Nina, Vanessa, Carla), Romeo & Juliet (Juliet), A Chorus Line (Diana Morales). Natalie is also a 700-hour registered Yoga Teacher and teaches in NYC at SkyTing. She writes a monthly essay on Substack and posts about grief and presence on IG @nataliecaruncho. In this week’s episode, we’re talking about how Natalie is dancing with grief. By healing through movement, loss, and presence, Natalie has been able to continue her life while still honoring her mom. This kind of grief can rock anyone’s world, so I wanted to take a moment to explore these feelings of loss, love, and compassion with a loved one. Tune in to hear how Natalie is honoring her mom through dance and how you can keep going after a loved one has passed. Follow Natalie on:Her Website: https://www.nataliecaruncho.com/  Instagram: @nataliecarunchoThe Little By Little Substack: https://nataliecaruncho.substack.com/  How to work with Odette:Book a free consultation call for the Next Level Woman: Life & Love by Design Experience here!Check out more information on the Next Level Woman: Life & Love by Design Experience, Odette’s six-month coaching program, here!Book a consultation call for Odettes’s Life Coaching Services here! Book a consultation call for Odettes’s Couples Coaching Services here! Sign up for a Complimentary RELATIONSHIP & LIFE ALIGNMENT AUDITBuy the Re-ignite Your Spark Journal here!

EP. 32: We Both Work From Home… But Feel Like Roommates

So many couples can feel themselves becoming roommates. They’re not affectionate anymore, they’re not being intimate, and reaching out to make a connection feels like pulling teeth. No one knows what to do or how to fix it, so you just drift further away from each other. So what do you do when you feel like roommates, and you want to get back to feeling like lovers? You have to go back to basics - no grand gestures, no huge life changes. In my experience, you’ll find love in the little moments of life. In this week’s episode, we’re talking about a scenario my clients brought to me; we both work from home… but we feel like roommates. Most couples don’t know where to start when they’re in the roommate phase. Luckily, as a certified life and relationship coach, I have seen this before, and I can help guide you out of the roommate phase and back to being lovers. EP. 31: Why Love Matters: How Your Earliest Attachments Shape Your Adult Relationships

As a life and relationship coach, attachment styles are so fascinating to me. They’re this window into who we are and why we do the things we do. They provide context to all our behaviors and chronic patterns we have in our relationships. And the best thing about them is that you’re not confined to one attachment style for the rest of your life! For many of my clients, that's the goal. They don’t want to be too anxious, or too avoidant, or completely disorganized. They want to have healthier relationships. So I study their current attachment styles and guide them towards a more secure attachment style. And I do that by staying up to date on my reading. In this week’s episode, we’re talking about why love matters. Your earliest attachment styles shape your adult relationships. Which means that you could be acting out how your parents raised you in your current relationships and not even know it! Tune in to hear about attachment styles through the lens of my favorite book and how I use these styles to design a better relationship for my clients. Resources Mentioned:Why Love Matters: How affection shapes a baby's brain by Sue GerhardtHow to work with Odette:Book a free consultation call for the Next Level Woman: Life & Love by Design Experience here!Check out more information on the Next Level Woman: Life & Love by Design Experience, Odette’s six-month coaching program, here!Book a consultation call for Odettes’s Life Coaching Services here!

EP. 30. Why You Need to Get Away Together (Even When Life Says You Can’t)

I didn’t realize how much I needed a week-long vacation with my hubby until we were actually there. Don’t get me wrong, planning to be away from my kids and the logistics were a bit stressful. But the time away was so nice! We booked massages and excursions, and we even booked a helicopter ride! During that helicopter ride, I realized something. All the little things we bicker about in life are so little compared to the love we have for each other. What really matters is us, and reconnecting with each other. It just took a baecation to figure that out. In this week’s episode, we’re talking about why you need to get away together, even when life says you can’t. So much of life gets in the way of your connection with your partner. When my clients fall into a rut, it’s typically because they prioritized literally everything else in their lives before each other. But I've found that getting away and spending one-on-one time with your partner can help you go from feeling like roommates to being loving partners again. Tune in to hear how you can get away and reconnect no matter what’s going on in your everyday lives. Follow Odette on: Instagram @‌odettecoronelcoachingTikTok @‌odetterelationshipcoach   LinkedIn: Odette CoronelWebsite:www.odettecoronel.comPodcast production for this episode was provided by CCST, an Afro-Latina-owned boutique podcast production and copywriting studio.

    EP. 29: I Tried Something I Never Thought I Would…

I used to be very proud of how I neglected myself. In hindsight, it’s a bit embarrassing, and neglect sounds like a huge word to describe what I was doing. I wasn’t trying to neglect myself; I was busy taking care of everyone else! There was laundry to do, kids to raise, and dinner to be made. But in the end, I did take a lot of pride in not taking care of myself.I spent so much time taking care of everyone else that I wasn’t taking care of myself. I didn’t notice that I felt disconnected from my body or my own needs. I wasn’t connected to my hobbies because I felt it was too indulgent to use that time for myself, since I could be using that time to care for my family. And then something changed that put everything into a new perspective. In this week’s episode, we’re talking about how I tried something I never thought I would. One thing gave me back my own time, and the realization that the world wouldn’t end if I indulged in it for a few hours a week. My family wasn’t falling apart, the chores still got done, and I felt better than I ever had before. So many women have the same story as mine, and in this episode, I’m going to share the lesson I learned when I finally let myself carve out some me time.

EP. 28: What Really Happens When You Double Your Intimacy

The amount of intimacy you and your partner experience in your relationship can be the difference between having a long and happy marriage together or finding yourself separated. Your intimacy is the spark that you guys have together, that thing that makes you guys click. And like everything else in a long-term relationship, doubling that intimacy will require a little bit of courage. And before we go on, I want to make sure we’re on the same page when I say intimacy. I don’t mean physical intimacy (I have another episode for that). What I mean is emotional,  mental, and energetic intimacy. We want to measure how vulnerable you can be with each other and see if there’s any room for improvement. It sounds like a heavy task, but it’s simpler than you think. In this week’s episode, we’re talking about what really happens when you double your intimacy. By doubling your intimacy and addressing that loneliness you’re both feeling, we can take your relationship to the next level. We are not taught how to be emotionally intimate, but with this week’s episode and my coaching experience, we can find the emotional support you’re looking for.How to work with Odette:Book a free consultation call for the Next Level Woman: Life & Love by Design Experience here!Check out more information on the Next Level Woman: Life & Love by Design Experience, Odette’s six-month coaching program, here!Book a consultation call for Odettes’s Life Coaching Services here! Book a consultation call for Odettes’s Couples Coaching Services here! Sign up for a Complimentary RELATIONSHIP & LIFE ALIGNMENT AUDITBuy the Re-ignite Your Spark Journal here!

EP. 27: Vulnerability in Leadership: Why Vulnerability Is the Missing Key to Powerful Leadership with Lindsay Dotzlaf

What if the thing you’ve been hiding… is actually your greatest strength? When most people hear the word “vulnerability,” they think about relationships. I know I do. In my work with couples, I see how powerful it is when someone is finally honest about what they feel, what they need, and what they’ve been afraid to say.But vulnerability matters just as much in leadership.Whether you’re leading a family, a business, a team, or simply the people you love, real leadership is not about having all the answers or pretending to have it all together. It’s about creating space for people to be real, to feel safe, and to be themselves. In this episode of Life & Love By Design, I’m joined by Lindsay Dotzlaf, a business mentor and host of a top-rated podcast who has spent nearly a decade helping coaches build businesses rooted in who they really are.Lindsay is known for leading with vulnerability in a world that often rewards perfection, performance, and pretending. She believes that the very thing you’ve been trying to hide or change about yourself is often the thing that makes you most powerful. In this conversation, we talk about:Why vulnerability is the missing piece in leadershipHow to lead authentically at home and at workWhy being “strong” doesn’t mean hiding your feelingsHow vulnerability builds trust, connection, and confidenceThe surprising way Lindsay turned her biggest insecurities into her greatest superpowerWhat women leaders, mothers, coaches, and entrepreneurs need to unlearn in order to fully step into their next levelIf you’ve ever felt like you have to hold it all together, keep it all inside, or be everything for everyone, this episode is for you.Because the leaders people trust most are not the ones who seem perfect. Anxiety can affect not only our daily lives, but our relationships, too. I’ve seen my clients’ relationships fall apart because their anxiety was getting in the way of the rest of their lives. EP. 24: Why Smart, Self-Aware People Still Struggle in Relationships

It’s time to put down the attachment-style books! I have very smart, self-aware clients who struggle to communicate well in their relationships. They’re always fighting with their partners, and it’s not because they can’t properly analyze the relationship patterns they’re seeing. It’s because they’re not feeling their feelings. Overanalyzing and overexplaining will not fix your relationship. It’s actually making your problems worse. What will help is connecting with your partner on an emotional level, and that means getting vulnerable. In this week’s episode, we're talking about why smart, self-aware people still struggle with relationships. You don't need to read another book, and you don’t need to analyze another attachment theory. Chances are you’ve already read what you need to know. What you do need is to get vulnerable, and in this week’s episode, I'm going to help you do just that. Follow Odette on:Instagram @‌odettecoronelcoachingTikTok @‌odetterelationshipcoach   LinkedIn: Odette CoronelWebsite:www.odettecoronel.comHow to work with Odette:Sign up for Odette’s Life Coaching Services here! Sign up for Odette’s Relationship Coaching Services here! Podcast production for this episode was provided by CCST, an Afro-Latina-owned boutique podcast production and copywriting studio.

EP. 23: Breaking Toxic Relationship Patterns & Learning How to Love Intentionally

Many people don’t think they have toxic relationship patterns, but they do. I see it all the time! And toxic relationship patterns can look like so many different things. For example, it can look like you two are having the same fight over and over again without ever finding a solution. Or it can be one person shutting down, and the other person constantly pursuing their partner, trying to get them to open up. But at the end of the day, nothing you’re doing is working, and you don’t know why. The relationship doesn’t have to be terrible for it to have toxic patterns. You could be a happy, healthy couple 80% of the time. But then that 20% throws a wrench in your entire day, and you end up feeling alone, and maybe like it’s your fault. The problem isn’t you, it’s how you approach your relationship issues. In this week’s episode, we’re talking about breaking toxic relationship patterns and learning how to love intentionally. EP. 18: Beyond Success: Mental Fitness, Real Leadership, and Choosing Love and Life - A conversation with Bill Carmody on meaning, connection, and what truly matters

This episode has mentions of suicide. If you are not in a space to listen to today's topic, we understand, and we’ll see you next time ❤️ Sometimes you can have everything you’ve ever wanted on paper, and still not be happy. It's terrifying to realize, but sometimes the material things you’ve always wanted are not what make you happy. Life is not just about our achievements. Of course, it’s great to have goals and accomplishments, but that isn’t everything that makes a life worth living. If you want more for your life and want to live beyond success, then this episode is for you. Bill Carmody is the former Chief Coaching Officer for Positive Intelligence, who in 2023 was named the 567th fastest growing private company in the United States according to Inc Magazine. Together with CEO Shirzad Chamine, Bill has supported more than 100,000 coaches globally to become mentally fit. Bill is a highly sought-after trainer and a well-seasoned Professional Certified Coach (PCC) with the International Coaching Federation (ICF). He works with world-changing visionaries who are brave enough to build a better future. This week, Bill and I talked about living beyond success, mental fitness, and how he chose love and life again later in life. After making his fortune and creating a loving family, Bill still felt unhappy and contemplated ending his life. However, some wise words his father passed down to him during his own mental health crisis gave Bill the drive to start over and start designing a newer, happier life for himself. Tune in to hear what these wise words were and how he designed his new life in his episode of the Life and Love By Design podcast. Resources Mentioned: If you’re in the U.S., you can call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. EP. 17: Building Connection - Small Moments that Matter Most

Building a connection with your partner feels harder than it is. It feels like this connection is supposed to be inherently easy because the initial connection when you first got together was so easy. But reconnecting after losing that connection takes work. Not a ton of work, but work nonetheless. Luckily, we have access to some of the greatest minds in relationship research, like John Gottman and David Richo. Their work makes it clear that communication and patience can help bring couples together after betrayal, secrecy, or even drifting apart. This week, we’re talking about building connections with the small moments that matter the most. Relationships are not built on huge gifts or big moments. It’s those tiny bids of connections that make up a successful relationship. Which means that you can find your way back to your partner, and to yourself, one step at a time. Follow Odette on:Instagram @‌odettecoronelcoachingTikTok @‌odetterelationshipcoach   LinkedIn: Odette CoronelWebsite: www.odettecoronel.comHow to work with Odette:Sign up for Odette’s Life Coaching Services here! Sign up for Odette’s Relationship Coaching Services here! Podcast production for this episode was provided by CCST, an Afro-Latina-owned boutique podcast production and copywriting studio.

In addition to headshots and family portraits, she is working on a limited edition fine art portrait series defining (expanding the definition of) women’s beauty 40OVER40. In this week’s episode, we talk to Jennifer about getting comfortable with being seen. EP. 14: Women’s Health, Hormone Balance & Whole-Person Wellness with Dr. Komal Yadav, M.D

Many women, including myself, struggle with hormonal issues. Whether it’s not getting enough sleep, brain fog, or memory loss, these issues can take over our everyday lives. And sometimes the medication we’re prescribed is just a cover-up of our symptoms, not actual solutions. So how do we get access to the solutions that will actually solve the root of our problems? This week’s guest is Dr. Komal Yadav. She is a triple board-certified physician in Family Medicine, Lifestyle Medicine, and Anti-Aging & Regenerative Medicine. EP. 13: Understanding Coaching and Why Coaching Can Be a Game Changer to Create Lasting Transformation

Today, I’m clearing up any misunderstandings there are about coaching. Because not everyone knows what coaching is, they don't know what they’re going to get before they book a session. Let’s start with what it's not. Coaching is not me giving you advice, and it’s not me giving you a pep talk. We’re way past that in our growth journey. It is my job as a coach  to help you become the calmest, clearest, most grounded, most powerful version of yourself. It’s my job to sit with you regularly, look you in the eye, and say, “Let's design your life and your relationship with intention on purpose so that you can actually feel the way that you wanna feel.” Most people don't know what that's like to have someone like that in their corner. And they don't realize the impact of having that kind of support until they experience it for themselves. In this week’s episode, we’re working on understanding coaching and why coaching can be a game changer to create lasting transformation. My clients know that they need coaching when they’re ready for an exciting new change. Their old lives don’t serve them anymore, and they know I can help them design a life and a love that will. EP. 11: Making Everyday Magic in Life and Love with Julana Dizon

There is magic in living a multifaceted life. Your life was never meant to be one thing. We can be mothers, and at the same time, we can be actresses, models, and animal activists all in one. And as a new mom with a passion for family adventures, she believes in a work-life blend and encourages women and moms to dream big while embracing everyday magic. In this week’s episode, we’re talking to Julana about how she’s making everyday magic. EP. 10: Why Your Story Matters: a Conversation with Desire Cruz

Storytelling is one of the great ways we protect ourselves, especially as women. If you take a look at your bloodline, you’ll probably find very powerful women who had to go through so much adversity to get to where they are today. Our families carry stories of resilience and strength, but they are rarely ever written down or acknowledged. It’s time we honor these stories, and this week’s guest is a speaker who specializes in empowering women to recognize their strengths and share their stories.Desire Cruz is a woman of faith, purpose, and passion. A devoted daughter of the Most High, she is blessed to walk alongside her husband, Jesse Cruz, and is a proud mother to three beautiful daughters — Haleigh, Mariah, and Faith — who are the heartbeat of her world. Desire serves as the Co-CEO of MERGE Worldwide and is the leading author of Warrior Women, a powerful testament to resilience and sisterhood. Beyond her literary accomplishments, Desire is an international world traveler, event planner, transformation coach, and keynote speaker. Her life’s mission is deeply rooted in empowering women to rise into their fullest potential. Whether she’s inspiring audiences from stages around the globe or creating life-changing experiences through her events, Desire’s heart beats for women’s empowerment and personal transformation. In her quiet moments, she enjoys connecting with nature, which offers her peace and reflection amid her busy life of service and leadership. In this week’s episode, Desire and I talk about her book, Warrior Women, and why your story matters. Desire opens up about her ideas of legacy, and why the lessons we learn from our mothers and grandmothers should be written down and taught for generations to come. And she’s not just talking about her family; everyone has valuable lessons that they can leave behind for their families. EP. 9: Listen to Your Body: A Conversation with Jen Aks

Sometimes we have to get to rock bottom before we make a change. My life coaching clients will sometimes come to me, telling me about the worst ways they’ve ever treated themselves, and they feel so incredibly guilty about it. They feel guilty because they didn’t trust themselves to make the right decision, and they don’t know how to find that worthiness in themselves again. Today, we’re going to work on how to listen to your body and restore that sense of self-worth, together, with a little help from this week’s guest.Jen Aks, is an embodiment coach, author, thought leader, and founder of The Power of Gesture®, a groundbreaking bodyset practice that has helped thousands of women since its 2020 inception. While mindset helps us shape what we think, bodyset connects us to what we feel—offering a direct path to authenticity, presence, and confidence. In this week’s episode, we’re talking about how to listen to your body and get back to who you truly are. Jen Aks argues that we are not broken, and this practice of listening to our body is not about fixing ourselves, but restoring what is already within us. By listening to our bodies, we can start to heal the worthiness wound that we’ve been ignoring for too long. EP. 8: After the Affair: Healing and Rebuilding After Infidelity with Luke Shillings

Have you and your partner ever dealt with infidelity? I typically help my clients before it ever gets to that point. Infidelity typically happens because there is a problem in the relationship. My clients and I work together on the everyday patterns and disconnections that, if not addressed, can slowly erode a marriage over time. But my good friend and guest on this week’s podcast episode, Luke Shillings, helps his clients after the affair has happened. I invited Luke onto the podcast to pick his brain about what happens after the affair, and if there’s a way to move forward after a spouse has been betrayed.Luke Shillings is a relationship and infidelity recovery coach and the host of The After the Affair Podcast. Drawing from personal experience and years of coaching individuals and couples, Luke helps people move from emotional chaos to clarity after betrayal. His work blends compassion with practicality, helping clients rebuild trust, identity, and authentic connection, whether they stay or leave. In this week’s episode, we talk about healing and rebuilding after infidelity. Luke’s story is special because he has been through infidelity himself. His wife betrayed him, they separated and divorced, and years later, they reconnected and rebuilt a life together, even though they chose not to remarry. So infidelity doesn’t always mean the end of the relationship. If both parties want to work towards reconciliation, it can be the start of better communication, answering questions, and building an even stronger relationship than the one they had before. Listen to Luke’s episode to hear his thoughts on rebuilding after infidelity and how both parties can take responsibility for their part in the relationship. Follow Luke on:Instagram @mylifecoachlukeWebsite: www.lifecoachluke.comFollow the After the Affair Podcast here!Follow Odette on:Instagram @‌odettecoronelcoachingTikTok @‌odetterelationshipcoach   LinkedIn: Odette CoronelWebsite:www.odettecoronel.comHow to work with Odette:Sign up for Odette’s Life Coaching Services here! Sign up for Odette’s Relationship Coaching Services here! Podcast production for this episode was provided by CCST, an Afro-Latina-owned boutique podcast production and copywriting studio.

EP. 7:  How to Reignite the Spark in Your Marriage

We will all go through hot and cold phases in our marriage. It’s inevitable. Whether you're exhausted from chasing around the kids or you feel like you’re stuck in the roommate phase, there will be long stretches of time where you look around and realize the spark is gone. And on top of that, you have no idea how to get it back. I want you to know that this is more normal than you think. Life is not like the movies; we don’t always have the same level of romance in every phase of our relationship. But if you feel like it’s time to get the spark back, then we can do it together. In this week’s episode, we’re talking about how to reignite the spark in your marriage. We’re also going to talk about how to keep that spark alive once you’ve found it. Relationships take a little bit of work, just like everything else in life. EP. 6: The Way You Talk To Me

Communication is a huge part of whether or not we have happy and healthy relationships. Not only because communication is a part of our daily lives, but it also builds every kind of intimacy we have. Emotional, mental, and physical intimacy all hinge on how we speak to each other. So when we’re out of touch with our partner, it can feel like the entire relationship is out of whack. You want to fix it, but you don’t know how, you don’t know what to say, and you don’t know why what you’re saying isn’t getting through to your partner. EP. 5:   Making Marriage Work: Seven Lessons from the Gottman Principles

Conflict is bound to happen, whether you’ve been married for two years or twenty. It’s a fact of life. But how you deal with it will determine if you have a long and happy relationship, or you both throw in the towel prematurely. Most people, in my opinion, tend to love their spouse and want to make it work. They just don’t know what to say or do to make it better. That’s why this week, we’re taking a few tips from my favorite relationship-solving book.  In this week’s episode, we're gonna be talking about how to strengthen the relationship with your partner. As a relationship coach, I know that there is a way out of the darkness, and I can help guide you through it. I’m going to be talking about how to handle conflict in a healthy way and how small daily habits can help protect your marriage from disconnection and from stress. We’re going to be diving into the seven principles highlighted in the book Making Marriage Work by John M. Gottman and Nan Silver. Tune in to hear what simple tweaks you can make in your relationship to ease the stress and protect your marriage.

EP. 4:   Limiting Beliefs and Rewriting the Stories That Are Keeping You Stuck

Limiting beliefs start out as a way to protect yourself, but if they never get resolved, they can evolve into an untrue story you tell yourself. For example, if you get a bad burn while cooking, you may never want to set foot into a kitchen again because cooking is dangerous. This is the story you tell yourself, and as time goes on, it limits your ability to feed yourself, develop your cooking skills, and work through your fears. Many of my clients want better for themselves; they want to improve their lives and their relationships, but they refuse to get out of their own way. It makes sense to them because they’ve been hurt before. Whether it was a relationship, a bad experience with a manager, or something in their childhood that never got resolved, people get stuck in limiting beliefs because they think they are keeping themselves safe. When in reality, they’re holding themselves back. In this week’s episode, we’re identifying what limiting beliefs are and how you can rewrite the stories that are keeping you stuck. To build an intentional life and an intentional relationship, it’s important to take a look at our limiting beliefs and how they’re holding us back. The only way to get over them is to work through them, and this week, we’re doing it together. Follow Odette on: Instagram @‌odettecoronelcoachingTikTok @‌odetterelationshipcoach   LinkedIn: Odette CoronelWebsite:www.odettecoronel.comHow to work with Odette:Sign up for Odette’s Life Coaching Services here! Sign up for Odette’s Relationship Coaching Services here! Podcast production for this episode was provided by CCST, an Afro-Latina-owned boutique podcast production and copywriting studio.

EP. 3:  Let Your Values Lead the Way

Our values are what tell us if we’re living the life we’re truly meant to live or not. That gross, gut feeling we get when we don’t stand up for ourselves, or when we accept something we shouldn’t, means we are not aligned with our values. And if we keep living in misalignment, we start to feel like we’re living on autopilot. That is no way to live. When we want to change our lives or even change our love lives, it’s often because we’re not living in alignment with our values. By identifying what values are, we can start living in alignment with them. In this week’s episode, we’re talking about how we can let our values lead the way. Our values are what’s more important to us. They tell us who we are and what we want to be. So if we’re ever feeling lost or confused, leaning on our values is the compass we need to make the right decision. It can be difficult to figure out these feelings on our own, which is why we’re going to do it together.

EP. 2:  Getting Clear on What You Want

I know it sounds like this huge, daunting thing, designing your entire life, so let’s start with the basics. This is your life, so this process is going to take a lot of self-reflection. When designing your life, you have to ask yourself what you do want in your life, and what you don’t. Getting clear on what you want can be as simple as just being honest with yourself. By identifying your core values and beliefs, you can take the first steps towards the life you didn’t even know you wanted. And as your life and relationship coach, we can do it together. In this week’s episode, we're getting clear on what you want your life and your love to look like. You are allowed to change and evolve and grow, even if you don’t know what you want yet. In this episode, I’m going to be sharing some journal prompts that you can use to get clear on what you want, as well as sharing what I did to get clear on what I wanted when I first started designing my life.

EP. 1:  Designing Life and Love with Intention

To change our lives, we need to look inward and confront these feelings that keep surfacing. Feeling lost or stuck can mean we want to explore or move on from our current situation. Feeling like we don’t have any clarity can mean you want to start researching your options. And since you are in charge of your life, you can start designing your next steps. As a life and relationship coach, I see so many of my clients shy away from these feelings before they explore them. They feel as if changing any aspect of their lives is too much change for them to fully be in charge of. But it’s your life. It’s your relationship. You are allowed to change, edit, and evolve as much as you’d like!In this week’s episode, we're going to talk about what it means to live life and love by design. It’s time to stop living by default, start taking ownership of your life, and start creating and designing the life and the relationship that you want to live. And we can do so together. Listen to this week’s episode to hear how you can identify some of these difficult feelings and start designing your life and your love with intention.Follow Odette on:Instagram @‌odettecoronelcoachingTikTok @‌odetterelationshipcoach   LinkedIn: Odette CoronelWebsite:www.odettecoronel.comHow to work with Odette:Sign up for Odette's Life Coaching Services here!Sign up for Odette’s Relationship Coaching Services here! Podcast production for this episode was provided by CCST, an Afro-Latina-owned boutique podcast production and copywriting studio.
