PODCAST CLIP: THEY THINK YOU’RE TOO STUPID TO CARE.

THEY THINK YOU’RE TOO STUPID TO CARE.They think you won’t vote.In this clip, I’m talking with Matt Chavez about what he describes as his opponent’s “mum’s the word” campaign strategy.AMAZON TAX BREAK? SILENCELOVE CANAL AND RADIOACTIVE LAND? SILENCETHE DYING MALL? SILENCEAll of it, silence. His argument is that if you don’t speak publicly, don’t answer questions, don’t do interviews, and don’t debate, you can quietly slide into office without voters ever knowing where you stand. That strategy only works if people stop paying attention.I think voters deserve better. They deserve candidates who are willing to answer questions, defend their record, and earn their vote.Watch the clip and decide for yourself.

The Radioactivity Meeting, One-Party Rule, and the Future of Niagara Falls

NATE CAST — JULY 21, 2026The Radioactivity Meeting, One-Party Rule, and the Future of Niagara FallsThis week on NATE CAST, I follow up on the recent public meeting with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) regarding radioactive contamination in Niagara County. We discuss what residents heard, why so many left frustrated, and what must happen next to restore public trust.I’m also joined by LaSalle legislative candidate Matt Chavez for a wide-ranging conversation about the deeper structural problems facing Niagara Falls and Niagara County. We examine decades of one-party rule, the culture of political patronage and corruption, why so many residents feel left behind, and what it will take to restore accountability, economic opportunity, and hope for our community. If Niagara County is going to move forward, it starts with honest conversations—and the courage to demand better.

NATE CAST — JULY 6: Happy 250th, America… But Are We Happy?

NATE CAST — JULY 6: Happy 250th, America… But Are We Happy?America just celebrated its 250th birthday, but here’s the question I can’t stop thinking about:Are we actually happy?Collectively, we’re the richest large country in the world. We have incredible technology, endless entertainment, bigger homes, more consumer goods, and more wealth than almost any society in history. Yet we also live shorter lives than many of our peers, suffer higher rates of chronic disease, loneliness, addiction, and anxiety, and consistently rank behind many other wealthy countries in measures of life satisfaction. What’s going on?This episode looks at why a nation with so much prosperity often feels so unhappy. Is it our healthcare system? Our work culture? Social media? Politics? The loss of community? Or something even deeper? Then we’ll turn to the controversy surrounding Donald Trump’s meme coin and what it says about speculation, celebrity, and the growing tendency to treat politics like a financial casino. Finally, we’ll discuss the latest World Cup controversy over the reversal of a red card and what it reveals about power, influence, and whether the rules are really the same for everyone.Three stories. One question: What kind of country do we want to become over the next 250 years?

PODCAST CLIP: HOW TRUMP’S CRYPTO CONTROVERSIES TRICKLE DOWN TO LOCAL POLITICS

PODCAST CLIP: HOW TRUMP’S CRYPTO CONTROVERSIES TRICKLE DOWN TO LOCAL POLITICS What happens in Washington doesn’t stay in Washington. I explain why I believe that when national leaders appear to blur the line between public office and private profit, it sends a message that accountability no longer matters. That attitude trickles down to state and local government—and ultimately affects every community. If you enjoy the conversation, please LIKE, SUBSCRIBE, and SHARE the podcast. PODCAST CLIP: W HILE THEY STAY QUIET… I’M TALKING ABOUT WHAT MATTERS. 🚨Everyone asks why I talk about Trump.Simple: when something matters, you don’t hide from it because it’s controversial. You fight. So yes, we talk about what’s happening in Washington. But here’s what nobody else is talking about:• Why is our casino contract still shortchanging Niagara Falls and Niagara County?• Why isn’t NYPA returning more of the wealth created by our hydropower to the people who live here?• Why is Niagara County losing population while politicians keep giving themselves raises?• Why are we settling for decline instead of demanding growth? These are the conversations I believe we should be having every single day.If you’re tired of politicians avoiding the hard issues, this episode is for you.Listen, subscribe, share—and if you believe in this fight, help us build a movement at VoteNateMcMurray.com.

27,000 followers?! 🤯 Thank you!I never imagined we’d build a community this big. With more than 27,000 followers, our page has grown larger than the Facebook audience of most politicians in Western New York and likely rivals or exceeds that of many members of the New York State Assembly. But here’s the catch: Facebook doesn’t count votes. People do.A big online community is exciting—but it only matters if it turns into conversations, volunteers, donations, and, ultimately, votes. That’s how real change happens. If everyone who enjoys these videos chipped in just $5, we’d have the resources to reach thousands more voters and take this campaign to the next level. So thank you for being here. History—both American and world history—shows that when people believe powerful leaders can profit from public office without accountability, that attitude filters downward. It changes expectations, weakens public trust, and makes corruption seem normal. We also discuss concerns about financial interests connected to the Trump family during a time of international conflict, and why many Americans are asking whether political power and private profit are becoming too closely intertwined.WHY CORRUPTION TRICKLES DOWN.When leaders appear to benefit personally without consequences, it sends a message that the rules are optional. PODCAST CLIP: IT’S TIME TO ADDRESS THE PAINFULLY OBVIOUS. WE ARE LOSING A WAR BECAUSE VAMPIRES ARE SUCKING OFF OUR MILITARY TO GET RICH

PODCAST CLIP: IT’S TIME TO ADDRESS THE PAINFULLY OBVIOUS. WE ARE LOSING A WAR BECAUSE VAMPIRES ARE SUCKING OFF OUR MILITARY TO GET RICHIt’s time to address the painfully obvious: we’re losing wars because our military isn’t just misguided—it’s outdated. For decades, we’ve spent trillions of dollars building a defense system that too often rewards contractors, lobbyists, and political influence instead of battlefield effectiveness. We keep buying yesterday’s weapons while tomorrow’s wars are already here.Modern warfare is being transformed by drones, artificial intelligence, cyberattacks, autonomous systems, and cheap technologies that can overwhelm expensive platforms. Yet Washington continues to pour money into procurement decisions driven as much by politics as by strategy. Our soldiers deserve better. Our taxpayers deserve better. And our national security depends on being honest about what isn’t working. We don’t need a weaker military. We need a smarter one—one that rewards innovation over bureaucracy, effectiveness over lobbying, and preparation for the next war instead of the last one. Why are we dumping this much money into something that is clearly not working? #Podcast #NationalSecurity #Military #Defense #ModernWarfare #MilitaryReform #Innovation #ArtificialIntelligence #Drones #CyberWarfare #ForeignPolicy #Politics #DefenseSpending #NationalDefense See less

PODCAST CLIP: I HATE TO SAY “I TOLD YOU SO”…I hate to say, “I told you so.” But if I don’t say it, the same people will keep telling me I am wrong the next time I'm right again! Years ago, I argued that the Democratic Party needed to embrace healthcare as a human right. “Affordable healthcare” was never enough. I warned that corporate politics was hollowing out our democracy and that local party machines were shutting out independent voices, discouraging debate, and rewarding loyalty over ideas. Now, a lot of people are catching up.But here’s the thing: I don’t want to replace one political machine with another. I don’t want one closed establishment giving way to a different closed establishment.I want debate. I want competition. I want open primaries. I want a Democratic Party—and a democracy—that welcomes new ideas instead of fearing them.I believe the party is finally moving in the right direction. The difference is, I believed that six years ago, too.#Podcast #Politics #DemocraticParty #Healthcare #HealthcareIsAHumanRight #OpenPrimaries #Democracy #PoliticalReform #WorkingFamilies #CorporatePolitics #ProgressivePolitics #WesternNewYork #NewYorkPolitics #Niagara #NateMcMurray See

JUNE 29, 2026' THE FUTURE OF PROGRESSIVE POLITICS

PODCAST SUMMARY: JUNE 29, 2026' THE FUTURE OF PROGRESSIVE POLITICSIn this episode, we discuss the local political landscape, including Jeremy Zellner’s loss and what it could mean not only for Western New York but for the future direction of Democratic politics across the state. I explain why I believe progressive politics must return its focus to the issues that matter most to working families: jobs, wages, healthcare, housing, and the economy. We also talk briefly about the Iran War and why I believe the United States needs to fundamentally modernize its military. I argue that too much of our defense spending has enriched contractors and lobbyists instead of preparing our armed forces for the realities of modern warfare. Finally, we discuss political messaging, my campaign for the New York State Assembly, and my vision for Niagara Falls and the entire Niagara region. I share the issues I’ll fight for, the investments I believe our communities deserve, and why I think our region can once again become one of the great economic engines of New York.#Podcast #Politics #WesternNewYork #NiagaraFalls #NiagaraRegion #JeremyZellner #ProgressivePolitics #Economy #WorkingFamilies #Defense #NewYorkPolitics #NYAssembly #NateMcMurray

PODCAST CLIP: WHY ARE WE REPEATING THE MISTAKES OF THE PAST WITH DATA CENTERS TODAY?

PODCAST CLIP: WHY ARE WE REPEATING THE MISTAKES OF THE PAST WITH DATA CENTERS TODAY? The Buffalo News is reporting unusual rates of bladder cancer in parts of Niagara Falls. For many of us, this isn’t just another headline. It’s personal. My father died of bladder cancer at just 39 after working on some of these dangerous Niagara Falls sites. I know countless families across Niagara Falls who have similar stories. For generations, our community has lived with the legacy of toxic waste, contaminated land, and industrial pollution. We’ve paid a terrible price. So here’s what I can’t understand. After everything we’ve been through, why would we even consider replacing the poisons of the past with the potential environmental burdens of the future?I’m not against technology. But are we really going to gamble with one of the greatest natural wonders on Earth by putting massive industrial data centers along the Niagara River?Haven’t we learned anything?Niagara Falls deserves clean industry, thriving tourism, good-paying jobs, and a healthy future—not another experiment whose long-term consequences we’ll leave for our children to figure out.We owe ourselves—and the next generation—better than that.

PODCAST: DEMOCRATIC SOCIALISM, BILLIONAIRES & WHY I’M DRAWING THE LINE ON DATA CENTERS

PODCAST: DEMOCRATIC SOCIALISM, BILLIONAIRES & WHY I’M DRAWING THE LINE ON DATA CENTERSToday I’m taking on two issues that people ask me about all the time.First: Am I a democratic socialist?I’m not a member of the Democratic Socialists of America. What I do know is this: I’ve spent my entire adult life fighting for universal healthcare, good public schools, strong unions, affordable education, a secure retirement, and an economy that works for working people—not just billionaires. Some people call those ideas democratic socialism. Others call them progressive politics or simply common sense. I’m less interested in the label than the outcome. I’ve always believed government should work for ordinary people, and in an era of billionaires—and even trillion-dollar fortunes—I think it’s reasonable to ask whether our economy is serving everyone as well as it should.Second: Why I oppose massive data centers on the Niagara River.Let me be clear: I support AI. I support innovation. I support technology. What I do not support is sacrificing one of the greatest natural wonders on Earth for giant industrial server farms. These facilities consume enormous amounts of electricity, require massive infrastructure, and create far fewer permanent jobs than their supporters often promise. Once we industrialize the Niagara River, there is no going back. Our future isn’t choosing between tourism and technology. We can have both. Build data centers on brownfields, existing industrial sites, and places designed for heavy industry—not beside the crown jewel of Western New York.Niagara Falls is our competitive advantage. It should be a world-class destination for tourism, recreation, research, and investment—not another industrial corridor.I’ll keep fighting for jobs. I’ll keep fighting for AI. But I will not stand by while we gamble away one of the most extraordinary places on Earth.Technology can be built almost anywhere. Niagara Falls exists in only one place.#NateMcMurray #NiagaraFalls #DataCenters #AI #WorkingFamilies #EconomicDevelopment #WesternNewYork #Tourism #Politics #ProtectTheNiagaraRiver

PODCAST CLIP: WHERE DID JEREMY ZELLNER COME FROM, WHO IS HE, AND WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

PODCAST CLIP: WHERE DID JEREMY ZELLNER COME FROM, WHO IS HE, AND WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?For people outside of Western New York, Jeremy Zellner has been one of the most influential Democratic political figures in Erie County for nearly a decade. As chairman of the Erie County Democratic Committee, he helped build one of the strongest local Democratic organizations in New York State. Under his leadership, Democrats won races, expanded their influence, and became the dominant political force in much of Erie County. He wasn’t a household name to most voters, but inside politics, he was one of the people making major decisions about endorsements, strategy, fundraising, and party direction. That’s why his defeat is such a big story. This wasn’t just a candidate losing an election. It was the head of the political establishment being rejected by voters and party activists who wanted something different. The winner, Jon Rivera, wasn’t exactly an outsider. He comes from a well-known political family and has served in public office himself. But he did something few politicians are willing to do: he challenged the person who controlled much of the party structure. Most people wait their turn. Rivera didn’t.The bigger question is what happens next. Will Erie County Democrats move in a more progressive direction? Will new candidates emerge? Will long-standing political alliances begin to shift? And what does this mean for races up and down the ballot, including challenges to incumbents who may have once seemed untouchable? One thing is certain: the political landscape in Western New York looks very different today than it did a week ago.And that’s why this result is being talked about far beyond Erie County.#WesternNewYork #BuffaloPolitics #ErieCounty #NiagaraCounty #PoliticalEarthquake #Democracy #TermLimits #JonRivera #JeremyZellner #AlissaEllman #ClaudiaTenney #Election2026 #PoliticalReform #ProgressivePolitics #WorkingFamilies #HealthcareForAll #AmericanDream #PoliticalChange #LocalPolitics #NewYorkPolitics

PODCAST CLIP: MY IMPROMPTU ENCOUNTER WITH THE DATA CENTER MAFIA

PODCAST CLIP: MY IMPROMPTU ENCOUNTER WITH THE DATA CENTER MAFIA Are you aware that Republicans in Niagara County just voted against a moratorium on data centers? Then today, by complete coincidence, I found myself sitting in a café at a business meeting where one of the biggest developers in Niagara Falls got up and announced plans to put a data center in downtown Niagara Falls. And people smiled and expressed support! Some people will say they weren’t really supporting it. Some will say they were just being polite. But nobody stood up and said no.So I did.I said I wasn’t for it. I walked out. Why?Because I believe this is one of the most important fights facing Niagara Falls. These projects promise the world. They take up enormous amounts of land, consume massive amounts of power, create relatively few jobs, and threaten to transform our waterfront and our community forever. The people behind these projects have money. They have influence. They have connections.I don’t.What I have is my voice—and hopefully your support.Because if I’m going to keep fighting this, I can’t do it alone. They’re going to come after me. They’ll run ads. They’ll spread rumors. MY CONFRONTATION WITH THE DATA CENTER CROWD: WHAT WE’RE REALLY UP AGAINST

MY CONFRONTATION WITH THE DATA CENTER CROWD: WHAT WE’RE REALLY UP AGAINSTToday I talk about a confrontation I had with the data center crowd—and why I believe this fight is about to get very real.I was invited to a business networking event in Lewiston. During the meeting, a speaker proudly announced plans for a data center in downtown Niagara Falls. The room smiled. Others stood up afterward to express support.I sat there stunned. Finally, I said, “I’m not for it.”I was immediately told that this was supposed to be a friendly event and that everyone was there to support one another. My response was simple: I’m not going to applaud something I believe is bad for Niagara Falls. Before I left, I told the developer exactly what I thought. I told him I’m going to do everything I can to stop this project. And yes, I called him a son of a bitch. Oops. I want trying to impress them. I was trying to remind him. No one wants this outside of that room. Because this isn’t some small disagreement. This is a battle over the future of our region. The people pushing these projects have enormous resources. They represent powerful interests and billionaires with deep pockets. If I continue fighting this, and especially if I win office, they’re going to come after me. You’ll see advertisements. You’ll see attacks. You’ll see smear campaigns. That’s why I need your help.If elected, I will fight for a permanent moratorium on data centers along the Niagara River and in the Niagara Falls waterfront corridor. But I can’t do it alone. Please stand with me.Visit VoteNateMcMurray.com and join the fight. Also in today’s episode:• The disappointing surrender in Iran and what it says about America’s endless cycle of war.• The green algae, peeling paint, and embarrassing conditions at the National Monument—and why it’s becoming a perfect metaphor for the current Trump presidency.• Why neglect, decay, and a lack of accountability are becoming the defining themes of our politics. The future of Niagara is worth fighting for. PODCAST CLIP: THEY DIDN’T JUST NEGLECT NIAGARA FALLS — THEY DESIGNED IT THIS WAY

PODCAST CLIP: THEY DIDN’T JUST NEGLECT NIAGARA FALLS — THEY DESIGNED IT THIS WAYPeople talk about Niagara Falls like its problems just happened. They didn’t.For decades, decisions were made that weakened the city. They built highways around Niagara Falls, cutting neighborhoods off from commerce and from each other. They took parking, attractions, and amenities that could have supported local businesses and concentrated them inside the state park, making it harder for the city itself to benefit from the millions of visitors who come every year. They built a casino downtown that generates enormous revenue, yet much of that money never reaches the people of Niagara Falls. That was. Republican deal by the ay. They rarely talk about the industrial contamination that still hangs over the region. Love Canal wasn’t ancient history. The chemical legacy of this area is real, and pretending otherwise doesn’t make it disappear. Then they carved up the city politically. Gerrymandering reduced Niagara Falls’ influence at the county level and weakened its voice in regional decision-making.Meanwhile, county government has been dominated by the Republican party for decades. Instead of working with Albany to secure investments, infrastructure, and resources for Niagara Falls, too often local leaders have chosen ideological fights over practical solutions. They took away control of the bridges. They took away control of the power. They took away control of the casino. Then they wonder why the city struggles. And here’s the thing: despite all of that, Niagara Falls survives.Because the Falls themselves are one of the greatest natural wonders on Earth. Because the people are resilient. Because generations of families refused to give up on their city. The story of Niagara Falls isn’t a story of failure. It’s a story of a city that has been held back by bad decisions—and what could happen if we finally start making better ones.

PODCAST CLIP: WHAT IS A DATA CENTER, AND WHY SHOULD NIAGARA FALLS CARE?

PODCAST CLIP: WHAT IS A DATA CENTER, AND WHY SHOULD NIAGARA FALLS CARE?People keep hearing the words “data center” and thinking it’s some magical high-tech factory of the future. It’s not.A data center is basically a giant warehouse full of computers. Thousands and thousands of servers stacked in racks, sucking up enormous amounts of electricity and generating huge amounts of heat. That’s why they need industrial cooling systems, backup power systems, and often rows of diesel generators. And here’s what they don’t tell you. Those cooling systems make noise. Not a little noise. A constant industrial whine. A screeching, humming, buzzing sound that can travel for miles depending on the design and weather conditions. Go talk to communities that already live near large data centers. The complaints are everywhere. The jobs? Usually far fewer than advertised. Once they’re built, many operate with surprisingly small staffs. The power demand? Massive. The land they consume? Massive. The tax breaks they ask for? Massive. Now ask yourself this: Why would we put something like that next to one of the most beautiful natural wonders on Earth?Niagara Falls should be investing in tourism, entertainment, parks, culture, restaurants, hotels, and attractions that bring people to the waterfront—not industrial computer warehouses surrounded by fences, security cameras, and diesel generators.I’m not anti-technology. I’m using technology right now.I’m saying location matters.Put data centers on brownfields. Put them in industrial zones. Put them where they belong.Just don’t put them on the Niagara River. Some places are too valuable to waste.#NiagaraFalls #DataCenters #NiagaraRiver #EconomicDevelopment #Tourism #WesternNewYork #ProtectTheFalls #Infrastructure #Technology #NiagaraUSA

NATECAST — JUNE 16, 2026TOXIC WASTE, DATA CENTERS, WAR, AND UFCThis week on NateCast:More contamination concerns are making headlines in Niagara Falls. The answer isn’t pretending the problem doesn’t exist. The answer isn’t protecting the companies responsible. The answer is organizing, demanding answers, cleaning it up, and making sure it never happens again.Love Canal taught us a lesson. PODCAST CLIP: THEY DIDN’T EVEN SHOW UPI attended a candidate forum hosted by the Niagara Gazette, the leading newspaper in our district. My opponent didn’t show up. In fact, no Republican candidates showed up. Think about that. A major newspaper offers candidates a chance to answer questions from voters, and they simply don’t come. Why? Because too many politicians believe they don’t have to. They think the party label is enough. They think you’ll vote for them anyway. Democracy requires accountability. PODCAST CLIP: THE CAMBRIA HYPOCRISY: WHO IS GOVERNMENT REALLY WORKING FOR?

PODCAST CLIP: THE CAMBRIA HYPOCRISY: WHO IS GOVERNMENT REALLY WORKING FOR?The Cambria solar project exposes something that drives people crazy about politics.Republicans tell us they believe in limited government, local control, and free markets.Democrats tell us they stand with working people and local communities. Then a giant corporate project shows up, and suddenly both parties start finding reasons to support subsidies, incentives, tax breaks, and special treatment. Why?If this project is such a great investment, why does it need government help? FOR A FOREIGN COMPANY?????If it’s going to make so much money, why are taxpayers being asked to sweeten the deal?Western New York is sitting on something incredibly valuable: fertile farmland created over thousands of years and shaped by the last Ice Age. George Washington himself praised New York’s agricultural potential. Yet we’re acting as if this land is disposable.WE DON'T FUND THAT? WE FUND THIS? This isn’t really about solar panels. It’s about priorities. Why does it always seem like billion-dollar corporations can get meetings, incentives, lawyers, consultants, and special treatment while ordinary people struggle to get their voices heard? The average resident gets told there’s no money. The corporation gets told there’s always money. That’s the problem. This isn’t just a Republican problem. It isn’t a Democratic problem either. It’s an establishment problem.Too many politicians are focused on serving the people with the biggest checkbooks instead of the people who actually live here. And that’s how communities lose faith in government. The question isn’t whether you’re for solar or against solar. The question is simple:Who is government really working for?#NateCast #CambriaNY #BearRidgeSolar #FollowTheMoney #CorporateWelfare #Farmland #PropertyRights #GovernmentAccountability #NiagaraCounty #WesternNewYork #NYPolitics #WhoBenefits #LocalControl #WorkingPeople #NateMcMurray

PODCAST CLIP: DATA CENTER MADNESS. Western New York is at a crossroads. This week I discuss the rapid expansion of data centers across Niagara County, the push to convert farmland into industrial solar projects, and the clear-cutting and development pressures facing communities like Grand Island. For years we’ve been told these projects represent progress. But who benefits? How many jobs are really being created? And what are we giving up in return?I also talk about the growing lack of accountability in local politics. Candidate forums are being held across Niagara County, yet many Republican officeholders and candidates continue to avoid debates, public forums, and unscripted questions from voters. At a time when major decisions are being made about our economy, environment, and future, citizens deserve answers. The future of Western New York is being decided right now. The question is whether the public will have a meaningful voice in that process.

PODCAST CLIP: WHO IS GETTING RICH OFF THIS?

PODCAST CLIP: WHO IS GETTING RICH OFF THIS?The more I look at the Bear Ridge solar project in Cambria and Pendleton, the more confused I get.Republicans in Niagara County talk about limited government, free markets, and local control. So why are we discussing millions of dollars in incentives and tax breaks for a giant foreign-owned solar company? If this project is such a great investment, why does it need public assistance?I have a libertarian streak. I don’t understand why government is so strict with ordinary people but so flexible with giant corporations. Homeowners get hassled over sheds, fences, permits, and even backyard chickens. But when a corporation wants hundreds of acres of farmland, suddenly the rules seem different. And here’s the question nobody wants to ask:Who is making money on this? The developers get paid. The consultants get paid. The lawyers get paid. The bond counsel gets paid. Everybody seems to get a piece of the pie except the people who have to live next to these projects.I’m not anti-solar. I’m not anti-business.But if a project is good for the community, make the case honestly. If it needs subsidies, explain why. NATECAST: WHO’S GETTING RICH?1. THE $30 MILLION SOLAR QUESTION; THE IRAN MESS3. WHO GETS TO DECIDE WHO IS A CHRISTIAN?

NATECAST: WHO’S GETTING RICH?1. THE $30 MILLION SOLAR QUESTION; THE IRAN MESS3. WHO GETS TO DECIDE WHO IS A CHRISTIAN?Tomorrow is the Cambria Town Hall, and I have questions. The same Niagara County Republican leadership that promised voters they would stop this massive solar project now wants to help fund it with roughly $30 million in public support. Why?Who benefits?Who’s making money? The company behind the project is a profitable foreign corporation based in Sweden. If the project is such a great investment, why does it need millions from taxpayers? And why did politicians who promised to stop it suddenly change their tune? We’ll break it all down.Trump walked out of an interview complaining that the media hates him. But let’s be honest: the only major media company forced to pay nearly $800 million to settle a defamation lawsuit was Fox News.Meanwhile, war with Iran continues, Americans are getting conflicting information, and nobody seems interested in asking tough questions. Is anyone paying attention?I also discuss the controversy surrounding comments and policies that many Mormons view as attempts to declare that they are not Christians. Whether you’re Mormon or not isn’t really the point. In America, government shouldn’t be deciding which religions are in and which religions are out.Mormons believe in Jesus Christ. They read the Bible. They consider themselves Christians. You don’t have to agree with their theology, but government officials labeling faith groups as acceptable or unacceptable should concern everyone. It’s another reminder that freedom of religion means freedom for everyone.#NateCast #NiagaraCounty #CambriaNY #SolarProject #FollowTheMoney #NiagaraPolitics #Trump #Iran #Knicks #Mormon #ReligiousFreedom #WesternNewYork #NiagaraFalls #GrandIsland #NYPolitics

PODCAST CLIP: I explain why I believe Niagara Falls needs to move forward with the proposed Civic Center and convention center project. For too long, wealth created here has been used to benefit other communities while Niagara Falls was left behind. It’s time to invest in ourselves and build a future worthy of one of the most famous destinations on Earth.I HAVE SEEN WHAT VISION CAN DO!I spent years living in South Korea and traveling throughout Asia. I watched communities transform themselves in a single generation because they refused to accept decline. They believed in their future, invested in it, and built it. I HAVE SEEN THE FUTURE — AND NIAGARA CAN HAVE ONE TOO

I HAVE SEEN THE FUTURE — AND NIAGARA CAN HAVE ONE TOOOn this week’s NateCast:First, I dive deeper into why Niagara Falls needs to move forward with the proposed Civic Center and convention center project. For too long, wealth generated in Niagara Falls has been used to benefit other communities while our city was left behind. From power revenues to state investments, Niagara Falls has given far more than it has received. It’s time we start reclaiming what belongs here and investing in a future worthy of one of the most famous destinations on Earth.I HAVE SEEN WHAT VISION CAN DO!I have seen massive societal change in Asia. I have watched cities transform, economies explode with growth, and entire countries reinvent themselves in a single generation because people refused to accept decline as their destiny. That experience taught me something important: communities do not move forward by thinking small. They move forward by dreaming bigger, investing in themselves, and believing that a better future is possible. It’s time for Niagara County to do the same. We have incredible assets, world-famous attractions, hardworking people, and enormous potential. Instead of accepting stagnation, let’s start building, growing, creating opportunity, and yes—making some cash. The future belongs to communities that believe in themselves. Why not us?Next, I discuss the massive solar projects in Cambria and Pendleton and the politicians who told residents they would stop them—only to turn around and help fund them. Don’t take my word for it. Look at the public records, follow the votes, and decide for yourself.I also break down the biggest stories of the week, including Elon Musk’s growing influence and the race to become the world’s first trillionaire, unrest and race-related tensions in the United Kingdom, major national political developments, and the stories that may shape the future of America and Western New York. And finally, a little sports talk:GO KNICKS!#NateCast #NiagaraFalls #WesternNewYork #NewYorkPolitics #NiagaraCounty #CivicCenter #EconomicDevelopment #SolarProjects #ElonMusk #CurrentEvents #GoKnicks #Buffalo #NorthTonawanda #GrandIsland #Lewiston #Wheatfield give me a etter all caps tiolte

HOW DID BYRON BROWN GET A PROMOTION? 🚨 OTB, TRUMP, AND THE COLLAPSE OF THE AMERICAN DREAM

🚨 HOW DID BYRON BROWN GET A PROMOTION? 🚨OTB, TRUMP, AND THE COLLAPSE OF THE AMERICAN DREAMOn this episode of NateCast — The Sound of Niagara, we ask a question many Western New Yorkers are asking:How did Byron Brown end up with what looks like a promotion? After years of frustration, population loss, stalled progress, and growing concerns about the direction of Buffalo, Brown and much of his political orbit now find themselves rewarded with another major public role through OTB. Is this accountability — or political recycling? We dig into the insider culture that so often seems to reward the same names and networks while ordinary people struggle to get ahead. And while local politics recycles itself, the national picture feels increasingly unstable.Trump continues to spiral, Washington looks weaker and more divided than ever, and many Americans are left wondering where leadership — or hope — is supposed to come from. That leads to the bigger conversation:What happened to the American Dream?America was supposed to be a country where birth did not determine destiny. Work hard. Show initiative. Demonstrate merit. Build something better. But today, moving up feels harder than ever. Increasingly, the strongest predictor of wealth is whether your parents already had it. If success depends more on inheritance and connections than effort and merit, are we still living the promise America once made? And we close with local headlines and controversy — from discussions surrounding Graham Platner to James Talarico and the political and cultural debates shaping the moment.Politics. Power. Merit. Frustration. And the future of the American promise.🎙️ Listen now to NateCast — The Sound of Niagara.#NateCast #SoundOfNiagara #ByronBrown #OTB #Buffalo #WesternNewYork #Politics #Trump #AmericanDream #LocalPolitics #NiagaraCounty #BuffaloPolitics #Merit #Economy #WorkingClass #PoliticalNews #Podcast #News #NewEpisode #WNY

NEW EPISODE: ARE YOU A COMPUTER? I SURE AIN’T. THE AGE OF AI HAS BEGUN — AND WE NEED TO KNOW WHAT IT MEANS

NEW EPISODE: ARE YOU A COMPUTER? I SURE AIN’T. THE AGE OF AI HAS BEGUN — AND WE NEED TO KNOW WHAT IT MEANSThe age of artificial intelligence is no longer coming — it is here.In this episode of NateCast, we ask the uncomfortable questions that too many politicians and tech billionaires avoid. From warnings by political leaders and religious voices alike, concern about AI is growing. What happens when technology this powerful is controlled primarily by private corporations with little public oversight? Who regulates it? Who profits from it? And what does AI mean for military power, surveillance, jobs, and human freedom? Why are massive data centers being proposed along the Niagara corridor and near communities already burdened by industrial history? After fighting major pollution battles before, including resistance to heavy industrial projects along the river, many residents are asking whether we are repeating old mistakes under a new technological label. Along the Niagara River and near the Tonawanda corridor, communities deserve answers about air quality, energy demand, and long-term environmental impact.Technology matters. National security matters. But so do neighborhoods, clean air, and democratic oversight. We also discuss rising tensions involving Iran and the growing fear that the United States may be drifting toward a dangerous military defeat. Could we be witnessing one of the most troubling strategic moments in American history? What would failure or escalation mean for ordinary people? Then we bring the conversation home to Western New York. This episode asks a simple question: Who is shaping the future — and who gets a say?#NateCast #ArtificialIntelligence #AI #NiagaraFalls #WesternNewYork #Iran #Technology #DataCenters #NiagaraRiver #Politics #Future #BernieSanders #Podcast #WNY #TechNews #Environment #Military #AIethics

Local Republicans are coming after me again, which is honestly pretty funny, because they have no leg to stand on.

Nate McMurray Show — Wednesday, May 13Local Republicans are coming after me again, which is honestly pretty funny, because they have no leg to stand on.They control Niagara County. They control a nearly $500 million budget. People are leaving. Businesses are closing. The local economy is struggling. And what do they want you talking about? Mamdani and Kathy Hochul. Anything except their own record. The worst offender is Claudia Tenney. She is absolutely obsessed with Mamdani. Maybe because he’s “not from here”? That’s rich coming from someone who spent more time around New York City politics than Western New York until about five minutes ago. Apparently she loves New York City political culture when it benefits her. Go home, lady. She should be nervous. She only ended up here because the district was gerrymandered into a safe seat. Instead of fighting for Western New York, she spends her time chasing Trump, culture-war nonsense, and whatever weird MAGA obsession is trending that week. And finally, we talk about inflation and the economy. Prices are up. Families feel squeezed. The economy does not feel good for normal people right now.So the question is simple:Why are so many politicians pretending everything is fine

NATE CAST — The Curious Case of Will Schulmeister: A Good-Natured Democratic Official Who Voted for TrumpToday on Nate Cast, Will Schulmeister returns for a surprisingly thoughtful and entertaining conversation about political identity, party loyalty, and why so many Americans no longer fit neatly into either political camp. Will is a good-hearted guy, a Democratic official, and someone willing to openly explain why he voted for Trump — THREE TIMES, YIKES! I blast him a little during the episode, but to his credit, he takes it well and keeps the conversation honest. We also dive deep into Western New York’s economic struggles, Buffalo’s budget issues, bridge delays, and the staggering lack of investment across Niagara County despite generations of Republican control by the same political families and insider networks. At some point people have to ask: what exactly did all this one-party control produce besides connected insiders getting rich while young people leave and entire communities stagnate?Ironically, one of the brighter spots in the region right now is North Tonawanda, where Democratic leadership has helped push redevelopment, activity, and momentum in ways much of Niagara County has failed to match. You would think local Republicans might eventually learn something from that instead of recycling the same culture war talking points while infrastructure ages and investment disappears. And because it’s Nate Cast, we somehow also end up talking about the history of North Tonawanda and subjects as wonderfully specific and esoteric as Gemma Pizza and Submasters in NT.A candid conversation about politics, frustration, regional decline, local history, and whether Western New York still has the ability to reinvent itself.#NateCast #Politics #WesternNewYork #NorthTonawanda #Buffalo #NiagaraFalls #Podcast

MAY 9 NATE CAST: WAR, MEDIA COLLAPSE, AND POLITICAL EXHAUSTIONToday on the podcast, I talked about something I genuinely believe is happening right now: MAGA media is starting to fracture, weaken, and lose energy. The outrage machine that dominated politics for years is burning people out.We talked about Ben Shapiro, who attacked me repeatedly over the years. To me, he became part of an ecosystem that helped turn politics into entertainment and outrage into a business model. But now even parts of the MAGA base seem exhausted by constant conflict, endless war rhetoric, and nonstop chaos, especially when it comes to the Middle East.We also discussed Dana White’s appearance on The Breakfast Club, where he came across as strangely evasive and completely unable to answer straightforward questions directly. The mood in America feels different right now. People are tired. And I think a lot of these media empires built on Trump love are starting to crack.#Podcast #Politics #DailyWire #BenShapiro #DanaWhite #MiddleEast #Media #Trump #WesternNewYork #NateCast
