how to make new friends in 2026 - #043
In today's episode, I talk about why making friends as an adult in 2026 feels so much harder than it did back in the golden days of 2010 gaming lobbies, and how we can actually fix it. I dive into how our constant reliance on smartphones and social media is creating an invisible barrier that blocks spontaneous, real-world connections. To help you break out of that cycle, I lay out a practical step-by-step guide to building lifelong relationships. We cover the importance of putting your phone away in public to invite natural interactions, how to strike up casual conversations using simple observations, and why diving headfirst into new, even weirdly niche hobbies gives you the perfect material to connect over. Finally, I explain why establishing a routine in your local community is the secret to getting those crucial repeat interactions, and exactly how to confidently "shoot your shot" to turn a casual acquaintance into a true friend.---Check out my habit tracking app: https://feelwrite.app/Enjoy the show? how to make 2026 the best year of your life (its not too late) - #041
Today I talk about why making a fresh start in a new year is so difficult and how you can actually make 2026 different. We often set unrealistic goals in January, only to burn out by March because we try to change everything at once. True change does not come from big resolutions but from small, sustainable habit loops. By focusing on a clear cue, a simple routine, and a rewarding result, you can build new behaviors that eventually run on autopilot. To make this year truly successful, I suggest focusing on keystone habits. These are small actions that create a positive chain reaction in other parts of your life, such as going to bed earlier to improve your energy, diet, and fitness. However, I also argue that life is not just a project to be optimized. The modern world wants to turn you into a consumer who treats every moment as a means to an end. To regain your humanity, you must set aside time for play, exploration, and genuine connection with the real world around you, rather than just chasing productivity.---Check out my habit tracking app: https://feelwrite.app/Enjoy the show? stop taking yourself so seriously - #040
In today's episode, I talk about the trap of constantly optimizing for a future that may never arrive. Most of us live our lives as a series of transactions, treating every moment as a means to an end, whether that is working a job to pay for a vacation or rushing through a game to reach the final level. We have turned our lives into a mechanical project, converting time into money and experiences into data. This perspective strips the world of its wonder, leaving us feeling isolated and disconnected from the reality of the present moment. To break this cycle, I argue that we need to practice a form of true materialism. This is not about the modern obsession with wealth and status, but rather the original philosophical idea that everything around us—the trees, the air, and the food we eat—is physical and real. True materialism means increasing your presence with what already exists. It means learning to exist in the physical space around you and appreciating things for what they are, rather than what they represent about your identity. We should stop taking life so seriously and learn to dance, treating the goal of life not as a destination to reach, but as a continuous process of being here.-----become a member to check out my summary:https://solacespeaks.com/supporters/posts/225212read "just so" by Alan Watts here:https://bookshop.org/shop/solacereadsCheck out my habit tracking app: https://feelwrite.app/Join The Discord: https://discord.gg/jreFGvRmG

how to deal with rejection - #039
Shorter, more straightforward and simpler. Today I talk about the fear of rejection and how it often causes us to reject ourselves before anyone else does. In high school, I was an awkward guy who tried so hard to fit in that I became unnatural. This fear creates a version of you that people find hard to connect with. We often have a bias where we think neutral moments are negative, like assuming someone hates us just because they didn't laugh at a joke. Realizing that most people are actually focused on themselves can give you the freedom to finally act like yourself. When you stop rehearsing your personality, you stop presenting a fake version of yourself to the world. Authentic living might lead to some rejection, but the friends you do make will actually like you for who you are. Rejection is not a reflection of your worth, it is just a part of life that everyone experiences. You can build confidence by having simple, low-stakes conversations without worrying about the outcome. True confidence means being okay with a no and moving on respectfully while still being a person that others enjoy being around.-----Check out my habit tracking app: https://feelwrite.app/Enjoy the show? you don't need a girlfriend - #038
Gemini said Today I talk about why you don't need a girlfriend, no matter how much society or your own insecurities try to convince you otherwise. I explore the trap of seeking a relationship to fill an internal void. This often leads to an inauthentic life where you design your gym routines and social circles solely to attract others. A relationship is not a fix for your personal shortcomings. Treating it as a trophy or a solution only creates a hollow dynamic. Instead, I argue that a truly powerful connection consists of two entire people who understand their own visions and identities before coming together in harmony. To reach this state, you must focus on finding out who you really are by pushing beyond the boundaries of your comfort zone. This means engaging in meaningful friction by trying hobbies you might suck at or challenging your pre-existing ideas. You should also learn to be comfortable in your own company. By filling your own internal void through self-exploration and personal growth, you build a firm identity that allows you to contribute to the world. Ultimately, it is only by becoming a whole person first that you can attract a partner who aligns with your true values and build a relationship that actually lasts.-----Check out my habit tracking app: https://feelwrite.app/Enjoy the show? the corporate machine is designed to break you - #037
We live in a world that is focused on exploiting you for your time, your money, and your attention. You have to work long hours for little pay to make money to spend on pointless items that are shoved down your throat through manipulative marketing. Your data is being used against you. You are part of a system that keeps you burnt out and hopeless, and privacy is getting progressively worse.Today, I talk about the burnout society, online privacy, the corporate machine, and the surveillance state along with anecdotes on how to distance yourself from this system. I give you some guidance on how to improve your privacy online, how to open source your online life and how to find meaning in the real world.-----Check out my habit tracking app: https://feelwrite.app/Enjoy the show? how to be a proper man - #036
Finding a sense of direction in your 20s is becoming increasingly difficult because modern "masculinity" has been reduced to a performance. It has become a competition to see who can signal the most wealth or desirability. In this video, I argue that being a proper man has nothing to do with these superficial markers. It is about achieving a harmony between action and intuition, and moving away from the "red pill" caricatures that tell you to pretend you're living in a Hemingway novel.I break down the four essential pillars for finding your path:Define Your Vision: We feel directionless because we are. You need to stop romanticizing someone else's life and start journaling to discover your own unique goals for the next decade.Seek Real Experience: You can't think your way into a vision. You have to live it. I thought I wanted city life until I actually moved there and realized the noise was draining me. Experience is the only way to find your "North Star".Beyond the Ego: Self-improvement is a trap if it never turns outward. To be a proper man, you must eventually contribute to something bigger than yourself whether that's a family, a community, or a cause. Without that, all that growth is ultimately meaningless. The Power of Tenacity: We live in an era of "instant everything," but a business, a relationship, or a skill takes years of consistent effort. If you don't have the willpower to endure the boring middle parts, you'll never reach the end of the track.-----Check out my habit tracking app: https://feelwrite.app/Enjoy the show? how to get a girlfriend in 16 minutes - #035
The way modern dating works absolutely sucks. In this episode, I talk about how we’ve traded natural human connection for algorithmically suggested portfolios and shallow swiping. We sit at home hoping a large corporation will facilitate a romantic match while paying for "premium" access just to be seen. I share my own experience of wasting years (and a lot of money) on these apps only to find that they made me feel more lonely and disconnected.I explore why getting off the apps is the first real step toward fixing your dating life. I talk about returning to our roots by getting back out in public—places like coffee shops, farmers markets, and gyms (where real people actually gather). The core idea is that you need to learn how to talk to anyone, regardless of attraction, to build genuine social confidence. By focusing on real-world hobbies and being authentically vulnerable instead of playing "detached" games, you can step outside the digital logic and find a relationship that actually belongs to you.------Check out my habit tracking app: https://feelwrite.app/Enjoy the show? what should you do with your life? - #033
It seems like everyone has their life figured out. Like they know their career path, their personal goals and aspirations and their day-to-day routine. But, it's fake. Nobody actually knows what they are doing with their life, and you shouldn't feel like you are behind because of it. In today's episode, I talk about how, even with this project, I still feel lost and directionless. How I question everything and am unsure of where I am going. And I touch on an important aspect of this conversation - about how doctors and florists still have the same issues that we do.----Check out my habit tracking app: https://feelwrite.app/Buy me a coffee: https://buymeacoffee.com/solacespeaksMy bookshop: https://bookshop.org/shop/solacereadsJoin The Discord: https://discord.gg/jreFGvRmGd

why you should worry about your online privacy - #032
Big Tech isn’t just watching you; it’s building a psychological profile to exploit your vulnerabilities for profit. In this episode, I talk about the "surveillance capitalism" machine where every click, pause, and search is logged to manipulate your spending. This isn't just about 1984-style control. It’s a "Brave New World" scenario where companies like Uber or Allstate use your data—like a low phone battery or your browsing habits—to charge you more or deny you services.I share my own shift from being the guy who "had nothing to hide" to realizing that our data is actually our soul being sold to the highest bidder. I dive into practical, low-cost ways to reclaim your privacy, from simple browser tweaks and switching to DuckDuckGo, to more advanced moves like using email aliases and password managers. The goal isn't to become a digital hermit, but to stop being the "involuntary product" of your online experience and make it just a little bit harder for billionaires to turn your every move into a line on a balance sheet.----Check out my habit tracking app: https://feelwrite.app/My online privacy guide: https://buymeacoffee.com/solacespeaks/de-corporatizing-your-online-lifeMy bookshop: https://bookshop.org/shop/solacereadsJoin The Discord: https://discord.gg/jreFGvRmGd

junk food is literally killing you - #031
The food system isn’t just broken; it’s designed to keep us sick while extracting as much money as possible. In this episode, I talk about how ultra-processed foods have taken over more than half of our daily calories. These aren't just "unhealthy" snacks. They are industrial products engineered to be hyper-palatable, causing blood sugar spikes and insulin crashes that leave us exhausted and brain-fogged.I share my own history of living on fast food and processed snacks. I talk about how that cycle of "sugar crashes" isn't just a physical issue but a major driver of depression and anxiety. I explore the science of the "food matrix" and why real food—like a simple mango or a sweet potato—is digested so differently than its processed counterparts. The core idea is that you can reclaim your health without needing to be a pro chef or having a massive budget. It's about stepping away from the "industrial formulations" and moving back toward foods that actually exist in nature.----Check out my habit tracking app:https://feelwrite.app/Enjoy the show? how nature can improve your mental health - #030
We’ve traded the natural world for an artificial one constructed for consumption and safety. In this episode, I talk about the quiet exhaustion of living at a pace we weren't built for. Every moment not spent "improving" is treated like a waste of space. I explore how the digital world’s constant need for our attention is a form of brain rot that drains our mental health.I share my own journey of hitting a wall of burnout and my hesitant, slightly terrifying escape to Glacier National Park. I talk about the edge of a cliff moments that forced me to trade screen time for presence. I also look at the science behind why nature acts as a biological reset for our cortisol and blood pressure. The goal isn't to move to the mountains forever. Instead, it is about finding ways to reclaim your humanity. We can do this through 120 minutes of weekly forest bathing or just appreciating the simple magic of a piece of fruit. It's about stepping outside the system’s logic long enough to remember that we’re all just living on a floating rock in space.----Check out my habit tracking app:https://feelwrite.app/Enjoy the show? we live in a burnout society - #028
Modern life isn’t turning into 1984, but something more quietly brutal: a burnout society where we become our own overbearing bosses. In this episode, I talk about Byung-Chul Han’s ideas and how the constant pressure to optimize your productivity, career, body, and even hobbies slowly drains your energy, identity, and joy, all while making you feel like you’re the one failing.I share how this has played out in my own life through rapid promotions, growing emptiness at work, and the loss of hobbies and relationships, and then explore ways to reclaim your time and attention through genuine hobbies, present-moment awareness, and doing things for their own sake instead of for money, status, or algorithms. The core idea is that you can’t fully escape the system, but you can step outside its logic often enough to feel human again, rebuild a life that belongs to you, and find small pockets of rest, creativity, and real connection in the middle of the grind.---Check out my habit tracking app:https://feelwrite.app/Enjoy the show? how to be a proper adult in 2026 - #027
Nobody hands you a manual on how to be a real adult; you just wake up one day and feel like you’re supposed to have it all figured out. In this episode, I talk about what actually matters beneath the surface-level advice about careers and finances: emotional maturity, owning your mistakes, taking responsibility for your life without ignoring how hard the world can be, setting boundaries, and taking care of your body so you have the energy to show up for what matters.I share personal stories about growing up without a male role model, struggling with isolation, staying skinny despite years in the gym, and slowly learning how to care for myself and the people around me in a real way. The core idea is that becoming a proper adult isn’t about checking boxes, but about building habits, relationships, and curiosity that your future self will thank you for—one small action at a time.---Check out my habit tracking app:https://feelwrite.app/Enjoy the show? consumerism is killing our culture - #026
Modern life is starting to feel flat, repetitive, and a little soulless, and it’s not an accident. In this episode, I talk about how consumerism and algorithms are quietly reshaping our cities, our art, and even our sense of self, turning culture into something optimized for profit instead of human connection, creativity, and meaning. I break down how everything from Marvel sequels and Call of Duty reskins to cookie-cutter coffee shops and hyper-optimized “productive” lifestyles feeds into a system that leaves us isolated, overworked, and unsure of who we are beyond our job title and the things we buy.I also share some practical ways to resist this and make the world feel beautiful and human again: building real in-person community, choosing hobbies and spaces that aren’t centered on consumption, consuming art and media intentionally instead of letting algorithms decide for you, and creating your own small pockets of culture with friends. The core idea is that you can’t fix the entire system, but you can opt out of its worst parts, reclaim your identity from consumer culture, and slowly build a life that feels rich in relationships, creativity, and genuine experiences instead of just purchases and endless scrolling.---Check out my habit tracking app:https://feelwrite.app/Enjoy the show? its okay to be a loser - #025
Feeling like a “loser” is almost inevitable in a world that worships money, status, and constant self-optimization. In this episode, I talk about why chasing those external metrics leaves so many of us anxious, insecure, and disconnected from what actually matters, and why opting out of that rigged game can be the first real step toward peace and meaning in your life.I share how redefining value on your own terms through genuine connection, and a life that feels aligned with who you are can quietly turn you into a different kind of winner, even if you never get rich, shredded, or famous. The core idea is that when you stop measuring yourself by everyone else’s scoreboard and start following what makes you feel alive and authentic, your confidence grows, your relationships improve, and life starts to feel like art instead of a never-ending competition.---Check out my habit tracking app:https://feelwrite.app/Enjoy the show? your diet is destroying your mental health - #023
Eating “whatever” is quietly wrecking your mood, energy, sleep, and focus, and a lot of what we call mental health issues are made worse by the way we eat. In this episode, I walk through how ultra-processed foods drive inflammation and depression risk, and why getting more real protein, healthy fats, fiber, and key micronutrients can make you feel like a different person over time.I break down the basics in plain language: how much protein you probably need, why omega-3s and better fats matter, why fiber is insanely underrated, and which vitamins and minerals most people are missing without realizing it. From there, I keep it practical with small, sustainable changes like fixing just one meal a day, upgrading your cooking oils, adding one high-fiber food each meal, and using simple habit tracking to actually stick with it so healthy eating stops feeling confusing and starts feeling obvious.---Check out my habit tracking app:https://feelwrite.app/Enjoy the show? Our phones are quietly running our lives, speeding up our days, and pulling us out of the real world without us even noticing. In this episode, I tell the story of breaking my phone, spending a few hours in a mall without it, and realizing how strange it now feels to simply exist in public without a screen to hide behind.I dig into how constant connectivity, news, and social media overload us with information, make time blur together, and drain our mental health, then argue for “picking your battles” online and focusing your energy on the causes and communities you can actually impact. I also share practical ways to reclaim your attention: leaving your phone at home for small errands, embracing boredom again, using fewer apps more intentionally, and remembering that real conversations, local action, and noticing your actual surroundings will do more for your life than any infinite scroll ever will.---Check out my habit tracking app:https://feelwrite.app/Enjoy the show? the art of winging it - #021
Life starts feeling dull when every moment is scheduled, optimized, and tied to productivity, and you forget what it’s like to just do things for no reason other than curiosity. In this episode, I talk about the “art of winging it” as an antidote to that overplanned, joyless way of living, and how loosening your grip on outcomes can actually make your life feel more alive.I share how growing up turned me into someone who plans everything to death, and why saying yes to small, unplanned moments—random day trips, new restaurants alone, talking to strangers, wandering into weird events like a drum circle—recreates the magic and freedom we felt as kids. The goal isn’t to abandon responsibility, but to reclaim some spontaneity in the margins of your life so you can explore, meet new people, and build memories that don’t revolve around work, self-improvement, or hustle.---Check out my habit tracking app:https://feelwrite.app/Enjoy the show? how to turn your dating life around - #020
Modern dating feels broken for a lot of people, but this episode is about stepping out of that mess and rebuilding your dating life in the real world instead of on apps. I talk about how dating apps commodify loneliness, create unrealistic expectations, and train you to treat people as endless, disposable options, which quietly kills both your confidence and your ability to connect. From there, I walk through a different approach: deleting the apps, putting yourself in actual social environments (coffee shops, dog parks, hobbies, clubs), starting normal conversations without cheesy lines, and focusing on being yourself rather than performing. The goal is not to become a smooth player overnight, but to stack real-life reps, get comfortable with rejection, and give yourself a much better shot at meeting someone who genuinely likes you for who you are.---Check out my habit tracking app:https://feelwrite.app/Enjoy the show? stop trying to attract women - #017
When you’re constantly chasing women, it’s easy to feel stuck, anxious, and like something is wrong with you. In this episode, I talk about why trying to “attract women” as a goal is broken, and how things start to shift when you focus on building a life you genuinely enjoy instead of playing a role to impress someone.I share how letting go of shallow checklists and outcome-obsessed thinking helped me show up as my real self, including the traits I used to hide, and how that eventually led me to the woman I believe I’ll marry. The core idea is that when you treat every date, rejection, and awkward moment as feedback for becoming a more grounded, emotionally intelligent, and self-respecting version of yourself, the right people naturally find their way into your life.---Check out my habit tracking app:https://feelwrite.app/Enjoy the show? Growing apart from friends can feel confusing and sad, especially when you start realizing you are not on the same path anymore. This episode is about accepting that friendships are meant to evolve, and that drifting is often a natural side effect of both people changing rather than anyone “failing.”I talk about looking back on old friendships with nostalgia without trying to force them to feel the same, and how shifting values, habits, and lifestyles can quietly create distance over time. the beauty of being unknown - #014
When life knocks you down, it’s really easy to feel like you’re just losing over and over. In this episode, I talk about how to reframe those moments so that, long term, you literally can’t lose.I share personal stories about rejection, injury, and family chaos, and how each of those “failures” quietly turned into raw material for confidence, self-awareness, independence, and better relationships. why life feels so pointless - #012
Some days life feels completely pointless, like you are working, scrolling, and killing time without any real reason behind it. In this episode, I talk about that hollow feeling, why our generation is so overstimulated and directionless, and how constantly numbing boredom with screens keeps you from ever figuring out what you actually want.I share what happened when I forced myself to sit in silence with no phone for two hours, how that boredom slowly turned into clarity, and how you can use that same process to uncover your real goals and turn them into concrete, chapter-by-chapter plans for your life. The idea is simple: give your brain space to think, write down what you truly want, break it into small, trackable steps, and let each season of your life have its own purpose instead of trying to solve your entire existence all at once.---Check out my habit tracking app:https://feelwrite.app/Enjoy the show? how to make new friends - #011
Making friends as an adult feels way harder than it used to, but it’s not impossible if you’re willing to be intentional, observant, and a little uncomfortable. In this episode, I talk about moving to a new city, not meeting a single person for months, and what my friend Doug taught me about finding “connector” people who can open the door to whole friend groups.I break down practical ways to put yourself in the path of new friends: working or studying at coffee shops and sitting at shared tables, paying attention to details you can genuinely comment on, showing up at farmers markets, climbing gyms, board game shops, run clubs, and other regular spots where the same faces appear. I also get into why consistency matters more than one perfect interaction and why you have to be the one to follow up, invite people out, and risk feeling awkward if you actually want real friendships in your life.---Check out my habit tracking app:https://feelwrite.app/Enjoy the show? how to never lose again - #010
Sometimes life piles on rejections, failures, and painful experiences to the point where it feels like you are just losing over and over again. In this episode, I talk about how changing the way you frame those moments can turn them into something you are genuinely glad happened, even if they were awful at the time.I share stories about approaching someone and getting shut down, destroying my leg in a skiing accident, and growing up around messy relationships, and how each of those “losses” quietly shaped my confidence, emotional awareness, independence, and standards. The core idea is simple: if you treat every setback as training for the future you, and zoom out far enough in time, you realize you have not actually lost at all, you have just gathered lessons that will lead you exactly where you are meant to go.---Check out my habit tracking app:https://feelwrite.app/Enjoy the show? you don't need to be "well-rounded" - #009
We’re told we should be “well-rounded” — juggling tons of skills, hobbies, and goals — but trying to be decent at everything often just leaves you mediocre and burned out. In this episode, I talk about why specializing can be a lot more powerful, using examples like MrBeast obsessively focusing on YouTube and my own experience spreading myself too thin in college and ending up average at everything I cared about.I break down the idea of becoming a “spiky rock” instead of a smooth one: choosing one thing you’re naturally good at or genuinely passionate about, pouring most of your energy into it, and letting that focus make you stand out and feel proud of your work. If you’ve been stressing about being well-rounded and feeling like you’re not making progress anywhere, this is an invitation to lean into specialization and see how fast you can grow when you actually pick a lane.---Check out my habit tracking app:https://feelwrite.app/Enjoy the show? dating apps are ruining your life - #008
Dating apps kind of suck, and in this episode I get into why they leave so many of us feeling drained, replaceable, and weirdly worse about ourselves the longer we use them. I talk about the empty swiping cycle, how gamified matching messes with your expectations, and why “more options” doesn’t actually mean better connection.Instead of treating apps like the main way to find someone, I shift the focus back to building a real life you enjoy, putting yourself in situations where you can meet people naturally, and using apps (if at all) as a small side tool—not your entire dating strategy.---Check out my habit tracking app:https://feelwrite.app/Enjoy the show? how to get everything you've ever wanted - #007
Most people say you can’t have it all, but I don’t really buy that—you just can’t have it all at the same time. In this episode, I talk about my own failed “do everything at once” self‑improvement era, why our 30-goal lists never work, and how watching a young millionaire friend made me rethink how progress actually happens.I break down the “marbles in buckets” idea: you only get so many hours a day, and the more you concentrate them into one area—fitness, business, friendships—the faster that bucket fills and eventually starts paying “interest” back in free time and confidence. I also share a simple rule of thumb: stop trying to push 10 big goals at once, focus on no more than three, and let yourself build the life you want in stages instead of all at once.---Check out my habit tracking app:https://feelwrite.app/Enjoy the show? it's okay to not have it all "together" - #006
Sometimes it feels like everyone else has life figured out and you’re the only one barely holding it together. This episode is about accepting that you will never fully “have it together,” and learning to move toward your goals anyway without burning yourself out chasing some perfect version of yourself.I talk about the pressure to optimize every part of your life, the guilt that comes with falling short, and why chasing control often makes everything feel worse. Instead, I focus on taking small, sustainable steps, dropping the illusion that anyone is truly on top of everything, and giving yourself permission to grow at a human pace.---Check out my habit tracking app:https://feelwrite.app/Enjoy the show? you are too comfortable, and it's killing you - #005
A lot of us avoid risk because we’re scared to lose the comfort we’ve finally built, but that same comfort slowly kills our growth, ambition, and sense of purpose. In this episode, I talk about how staying “safe” with a stagnant YouTube channel and a comfortable routine drained my passion, and I use a story about a hunter hiding in a warm cave to show how comfort can quietly turn into a trap.I get into why you need controlled discomfort to keep evolving, and how setting realistic but challenging goals—whether it’s a simple daily workout, a writing habit, or a new creative project—can wake you back up to your potential. If you feel like you’re coasting and secretly afraid to shake things up, this is your push to choose a challenge on purpose and see what you’re actually capable of.---Check out my habit tracking app:https://feelwrite.app/Enjoy the show? the urge to live a simpler life - #004
Modern life makes you feel like you have to do everything at once: crush your career, stay fit, grow a side hustle, travel, be social, and somehow keep up with your “personal brand” on top of it. In this episode, I talk about how that pressure pushed me into a constant state of burnout, fantasizing about running away to live a quiet, simple life in a cabin or a van.I share how discovering the idea of essentialism—doing less, but better—helped me realize the real problem wasn’t my life situation, it was that I kept saying yes to too many things and had no clear priority. I get into why learning to say no, picking a true priority, and cutting out distractions (even “good” ones) can make your life feel calmer, more focused, and more your own without needing to disappear into the woods.-----Enjoy the show? why modern dating sucks - #003
Modern dating can feel hopeless, but a lot of that comes from chasing it the wrong way and living your life as a performance instead of something that actually feels good to you. In this episode, I talk about how I spent years grinding dating apps, doing all the “right” things, and still felt empty and alone, and how everything shifted when I stopped centering my life around trying to be desirable.I get into how focusing on real interests, hobbies, travel, and self-improvement for their own sake slowly turned me into a more interesting, fulfilled person—and how that naturally made genuine connection more likely. I also break down why apps push everyone to fake it, why authenticity is such a rare advantage now, and why building a life you actually enjoy is a better long-term “strategy” than obsessing over matches and signals.-----Enjoy the show? the reason you feel lonely all the time - #002
Most of us feel lonely way more often than we admit, and it’s not just “in your head” — it’s a side effect of how disconnected modern life is from the real, physical world. In this episode, I compare a simple 1980s day to a typical work-from-home, hyper-digital routine to show how screens, delivery apps, and endless scrolling pull us out of real life and leave us feeling isolated.I talk about why digital “connection” can’t replace being around actual humans, why treating your city like a sandbox instead of something you pass through can help, and how small changes like cooking your own food, talking to cashiers, becoming a regular at a local spot, or joining in-person hobbies slowly rebuild your sense of belonging. I also share how cutting back on social media and engaging more with my environment didn’t magically give me tons of friends, but it did make my loneliness fade because I finally felt like I was part of the world again.------Enjoy the show? the freedom in knowing that nobody cares about you - #001
Feeling stuck, scared to make a change, or worried about what everyone will think? This episode is a short, honest pep talk about how little other people are actually paying attention to your choices and why that can set you free.I share a personal story about walking away from an engineering path to pursue marketing and realizing that most of my “stuckness” was really fear of disappointing others. I also talk about how a lot of opinions from friends and family are shaped by their own needs, not yours, and how your future self will care far more about the chances you didn’t take than the people you were trying to impress. If you’ve been putting off moving, starting something new, or fully embracing what you actually enjoy because you’re afraid it might look “cringe,” this is your reminder to do it anyway and make your life your own.-----Enjoy the show?
