MKB girls talk navigating teen single motherhood, twin motherhood and a jewelry business with Eleanor Pereira
Hello mummies!Tallulah and Sophie are back with another fabulous guest, Eleanor Pereira. Eleanor is based in Nottingham, where she runs her own jewellery business specialising in repairing and repurposing inherited pieces so they can be worn, treasured and loved again by the next generation. She is mum to three children – Theo (13) and twins Marcie and Daph (4). Her journey into motherhood began as a young single mum with Theo, an experience that quickly taught her independence and resilience. When Theo was five, she took him on a six-week road trip around France, just the two of them – an adventure that cemented her belief d children can be part of life’s adventures rather than a barrier to them. Years later, Eleanor met her partner Louis, and seven months into their relationship they discovered they were expecting twins – a joyful surprise that brought a new chapter of family life. For Eleanor, motherhood has unfolded across very different seasons of life: first as a young single mum, and later navigating life with three children, including twins. We loved chatting with Eleanor, hope you enjoy!Love MKB teamxxAs always, feel free to reach out to us, we'd love to know what you want to hear about on the podcast and our DMs are always open!IG: @mumknowsbestpodcastTikTok: @mumknowsbestpodcastor message us at [email protected] can find Eleanor over on IG @eleanorpereira

MKB catch up with Rosie Kelly Smith, talking her new book, Real Housewives and mastitis!
Hey mamas,Just me this week (Sophie) as Tallulah has just given birth!! Woop woop!I had the pleasure of catching up with Rosie Kelly Smith. Rosie lives with her fiancé and baby girl, Billie. She works in journalism and production and co-hosts a top ten podcast 'What if?' with her mummy, Lorraine Kelly. Rosie is launching her new book 'Mother to Mother' on the 26th February, so we sat down to discuss this beautiful book and navigating motherhood through the generations. The book talks to the advice that gets passed down, whether it should or not!Becoming a new parent is daunting enough without having to contend with comments and advice from seemingly every corner. 'They didn't do it like that in my day', 'You'll make a rod for your own back', 'Don't spoil the baby'. It's so easy to become overwhelmed, and too easy to feel like you're failing. How do you sift through all the advice and know what to trust? From her mum's birth in 1959, to her own in 1994, and to little Billie's in 2024, Rosie shares the universal truths that still make sense today, alongside the pieces of advice you can definitely ignore. From pregnancy to birth, the early days and beyond, Mother to Mother explores what we can learn about parenting from our own mums, as well as what we will find for ourselves.Welcome to the podcast Rosie!!Love MKB teamAs always, feel free to reach out to us, we'd love to know what you want to hear about on the podcast and our DMs are always open!IG: @mumknowsbestpodcastTikTok: @mumknowsbestpodcastor message us at [email protected] can also find Rosie on socials - @rosiekellysmith

Tallulah and Sophie are back! This week we are joined by the legendary Steph Smith, one half of the Raw Silk DJ duo, mum and founder of new biz 'The Bold Birth Coach'. Steph is wicked. She's honest, passionate and a real advocate for redefining a mother's birthing experience. In this episode, we discuss the shifting balance of priorities when becoming a mother, navigating the reality of working, parenting and carving out space for passions. Steph spoke candidly about her own birthing experience and what led her to founding 'The Bold Birth Coach'. During her pregnancy, Steph dedicated a lot of time and energy into preparing herself for birth, both through a hypnobirthing course and her own research. It was this preparation and awareness that she believed helped her make informed decisions when it came to her own birth, despite her delivery being different from what she had planned. Steph is a big advocate for women's health, informed decision-making and support and she, like many of us, found that there seemed to be something missing for a lot of women when it came to antenatal education. Steph trained with 'The Riot Birth Network' and upon founding 'The Bold Birth Coach', she aims to provide evidence-based support for women in their pregnancy and birth journey. We LOVED speaking with Steph and we hope you enjoy this episode!Much love, MKB (Tallulah and Sophie)xxxAs always feel free to reach out to us, we'd love to know what you want to hear about on the podcast and our DMs are always open!IG: @mumknowsbestpodcastTikTok: @mumknowsbestpodcastor message us at [email protected]
