Welcome to the Suffer Up podcast, and thank you for viewing our page! We are Nate and Ryan, who both have spent our lives doing hard things to challenge ourselves and help others. Our mission is to encourage and lead others to suffer with a purpose. We strive to help others level up in life with an emphasis on spiritual, mental and physical wellbeing. Our goal is to deliver consistent, quality content related to those three pillars. Nate is a Firefighter Paramedic with over 10 years of related experience in public safety. He enjoys the great outdoors including hunting, fishing, running, and working out. He is a follower of Christ, husband, father, co-worker, and church member who has a passion to share his story and motivate others to be the best version of themselves as possible. Several years back, Nate suffered from a lot of work-related trauma that he openly shares in this podcast, and how he overcame those challenges. On this episode, Ryan shares a more intimate view on his 100 mile journey from the start to the finish. Ryan suffered an injury at mile 10 that ultimately changed the entire course of his journey. Starting with plan A of finishing under 24 hours, Plan B of finishing under 30 hours, to Plan C of just finishing and chasing the cut off, Ryan overcame many hurdles along the way. Nate, his pacer, also gives lessons learned and the pacers perspective of how to take care of your runner during these ultra marathons.
