#57 Why the Things We Work and Wait For Mean More
In this episode, I share my thoughts on why the things we work and wait for often mean more to us — and how the energy we put into something can shape the way we value it. Sometimes it’s the effort, the patience it takes to get there, and sometimes even a little bit of a struggle, that helps us appreciate the outcome and what we achieve . This can ultimately create that sense of deeper contentment and gratitude in life In a world of quick fixes and instant access, I explore the difference between fleeting satisfaction and a deeper sense of meaning…and invite you to reflect on what’s truly worth your energy. Thanks for Listening!I appreciate you taking the time to listen to my podcast and meditations. #56 Living in Intensity? It might be time for a breather!
Are you the kind of person who often finds yourself doing everything with intensity? Maybe you describe it as something you’re passionate about, or you’re simply trying to prove yourself, or you just approach everything with such a level of drive that you can get caught up in it completely unaware of how close you are to it? In this episode, I reflect on how all of us may find ourselves caught up in the intensity of something without even being aware of it, from time to time. Sometimes we don’t even notice it because we’re too close to it. I share my reflections on how sometimes that intensity becomes noise - and we really need to take a break from it. With a proper breather, we can gain perspective and return either refreshed, or realize that we were on the wrong path. This episode offers you a few short moments to reflect on your own life, and maybe to think about whether it might be time for you to take a breather. I hope you enjoy it.Thanks for Listening!I appreciate you taking the time to listen to my podcast and meditations. If you enjoy it, please follow the show, and review it. #55 Morning Meditation: Inhale Possibility
I invite you to begin your day with this uplifting 15 minute meditation - first thing in the morning - go ahead, maybe try it every day for a week and let me know how you felt - how your week went! This meditation helps you start your day with positivity - opening you up to see things differently, and to experience the day with a little more connection to yourself. Inhaling the potential that exists within you and beyond; and exhaling the old, the patterned, the programmed. In those quiet moments just after waking, when your mind is more open and less guarded, you can access your true essence - YOU as you really are. Guiding you through breath and self-awareness, this meditation brings you to a place of presence, connecting with yourself in your honesty and your being, and reminds you that all the potential is here for you. It’s a reminder that you are already part of something bigger, and that you don’t need to do this day perfectly. You just need to be here for it. Approach the day with a new sense of your presence, self acceptance, and a deeper knowing that you are enough just as you are. I hope you enjoy it. #53 Finding Calm During Uncertainty — A Reflection and Guided Meditation
In moments of uncertainty, our minds can race and our body can forget it’s safe. #51 A Message for the New Year: Set an Intention-NOT a Resolution
As we enter the New Year - 2026, many of us may once again be thinking about whether we should be setting a New Year's Resolution. Something we need to "work on" or change, about our lives, ourselves. But New Year's resolutions often fail, and sometimes this can add to those familiar feelings of beating ourselves up for not achieving, not making the changes we have been convinced into believing we need to make in our lives. I offer something different for this New Year. Not a resolution, but rather, setting an "Intention". An intention is softer, and it's more like a reminder to ourselves of something that holds value for us - something we choose or wish to carry with us through our day, something personal to us. Not something we are told by the outside world we need to change. In fact, this message for you is NOT about changing YOU, it's about getting to know yourself this year. I offer this - instead of listening to the outside world which tells you maybe that you aren't good enough, successful enough, fit enough - setting yourself up for comparison and self-judgment - I offer you the opportunity to consider turning inward - making this year about YOU! Allow yourself to FEEL! Allow yourself to EXPERIENCE. Allow yourself to BE. Learn about yourself. Listen to the signals your body and your heart are trying to tell you. If you choose to get to know YOU, you may find that you begin to move toward a happier, healthier way of living, living in alignment with who you really are. And that can be transformational. In the episode that will follow this one, I will be releasing a meditation to guide you through breath and body awareness, to take a few quiet moments to begin to discover you! So subscribe if you want to be notified when that is released. Taking a few moments to become familiar with the experience of just being YOU, being aware of you, may be a start! I wish you a beautiful and fulfilling year ahead - one filled with discovery and experiences. My wish for you is to live in positivity, health and harmony. #50 Learning to Say No During the Holidays and Beyond (Reclaiming Your Peace)
In this episode, I share my thoughts on how we often sacrifice our time and energy by continuing to say yes to added responsibilities, without even questioning how we feel about them. Whether it is adding to the list of projects or tasks at work because you don’t have the courage to say no, even when you’re already very busy; or whether it’s agreeing to participate in personal or other events when asked because you don’t want to disappoint; or maybe it’s giving your time at someone’s request because it seems like it’s just a small thing and it shouldn’t take that long. Even if our gut is sending some sort of signal within, that you’re not really excited to add another thing to the list, we ignore it and let our thoughts convince us that it’s not such a big deal and we can get through it - telling ourselves that afterward, we will have our break and our rest. But it’s never just a little thing, because we’re always adding those things, sacrificing our time and space and sometimes our sense of peace.During the holidays, we already find ourselves with a pretty long list of existing responsibilities created through tradition, with others added over time - in addition to events that also take place. I thought I would share my thoughts as we get closer to the holidays, to give you a chance to consider where you may be saying yes out of habit or for fear of disappointing someone, while your body and your heart may be trying to scream no! I share why those patterns that keep us in the habit of saying yes continue and how we can break them. We’ve become so unfamiliar with recognizing what we really want by feeling into how we feel, that we default to the tricks that our mind plays on us. I share how becoming more familiar with how you really feel, by giving yourself the time and space to sense into your feelings, helps you to see the patterns of behaviour and break away from them.I also reference the yoga principle of Samskara, where impressions from past experiences strengthen the patterns we keep repeating, making it hard to make a change. But the truth is, when you take the time to follow what you truly feel and overcome the fear of saying no, you’ll discover the strength to stand in your own sovereignty. You can use your voice to speak your truth, break those old patterns, and create new impressions that guide you toward your authentic desires.Book referenced: Yoga Nidra, The Art of Transformational Sleep, by Kamini Desai, PHDThanks for Listening!I appreciate you taking the time to listen to my podcast and meditations. #49 Follow your Impulse (thought for the day)
This is a very short episode where I share my “thought for the day” that came to me as a result of a morning walk. Sometimes we get an impulse to do something and we think it’s against our better judgment so we talk ourselves out of it. But today, I ask you to consider- the next time you get an impulse to do something, rather than talk yourself out of it, maybe lean into it and consider why it may be a good idea. You never know where things will lead when you follow an impulse that is coming from within. I hope you enjoy this short message today! Thanks for Listening!I appreciate you taking the time to listen to my podcast and meditations. If you enjoy it, please follow the show, and review it. #48 Space for Stillness: Dissolving Distractions (Meditation)
This meditation follows episode 47 (When your Mind Hijacks your Truth) - where I share my thoughts on how important it is to find stillness within, away from the noise and distractions that fill our minds every day. I welcome you to check out episode 47. In this meditation, I offer an opportunity for you to find that needed stillness, learning to be present with your breath and body, without the noise of the outside world. When you begin to take a few moments for yourself and learn to be comfortable in the silence and stillness, you will begin to discover that the distractions are taking you away from yourself-your truth. Practising stillness for just a few moments a day will lead you to the path of discerning between your true essence and the noise around you. This meditation is about finding your stillness, through attention to breath and body. #47 When Your Mind Hijacks Your Truth
In this episode, I share some thoughts on what happens when our mind starts running the show — when it hijacks our truth. I talk about how we’re born whole, already connected to what we need, but over time we get swept up in the noise of the world. Our world is now full of distractions — experts, information, and endless knowledge — and by learning to rely so heavily on the mind, we end up creating even more confusion and distraction. In the process, we lose trust in ourselves. This episode is about finding our way back to stillness, to the breath, and to that quiet place within where our truth has always been. Thanks for Listening!I appreciate you taking the time to listen to my podcast and meditations. #46 Walking in Without the Story
In this short reflection, I talk about how the narratives we create for ourselves - about who we are, about others, or even about what might come next in our lives, even things as simple as attending an event and predetermining how it will be - can limit us before life even unfolds — and how letting go of these stories can open up space for something completely different, maybe even something better than we imagined. So I asked you to consider, what would happen if you walked in without the story? You just might be surprised! Thanks for Listening!I appreciate you taking the time to listen to my podcast and meditations. If you enjoy it, please follow the show, and review it. #45 Meditation: Allowing Yourself to Feel
Sometimes we may experience certain physical or emotional sensations that we suppress or deny, either because we may not want to face them, or because we’re trained to ignore them. Perhaps we even pretend they don’t exist. But when we suppress our true feelings, whether physical or emotional, it creates tension within us. We often try to explain away how we feel through our thoughts. Our thinking mind comes up with all kinds of things to tell us in order to ignore or deny how we really feel. This meditation is to offer you the space you need, to begin to find awareness in how you truly feel. Guiding you through breath and awareness of body, this meditation can take you away from your thoughts and help you find peace with how you really feel. By allowing your true feelings to just be, to notice or observe them without judgment, and to allow them to show themselves to you, you can begin to alchemize the messages that your body and your heart are trying to tell you. The practice within this meditation is something you can go back to anytime you find that you may be denying your own truth, denying your own feelings. It’s a meditation that can support anyone at any time, and it may also be especially helpful if you’re feeling heightened emotions or sensitivities during the current lunar eclipse.I hope you find it helpful 💕Thanks for Listening!I appreciate you taking the time to listen to my podcast and meditations. #44 Dropping Your Armour and Finding Yourself
What kind of armour or costume do you wear that may hide who you really are? Have you ever thought about how we slowly build armour or costumes, through the process of developing and learning how to act in this world? And, sometimes we may discover that we are far removed from the person we really are. In this episode, I share reflections that came to me early one morning, when I was thinking about how often our thoughts mislead us into behaviours that are not us, and convince us away from all of the things that really have meaning for us. But what happens when you begin to dismantle that armour? Armour that you built to protect yourself, but it’s now restricting you from your truth? And how do you begin to dismantle that armour? in this episode, I offer my thoughts on these issues. I welcome you to tune in, and maybe offer some of your own thoughts if you wish to share them with me! Thanks for Listening!I appreciate you taking the time to listen to my podcast and meditations. #43 Reflections on nostalgia: why we can't relive the past
Feeling nostalgic about past memories? in this episode I reflect on how we can sometimes search for those same experiences from our past, hoping to experience that feeling again. And through my own recent experiences and reflections, I share why trying to recreate the situation or experience again may not work. We can't truly go back, but in this episode I share why that's a beautiful thing, because it reminds us to embrace the present moment. I invite you to honour the sweetness of your memories, while opening yourself up to the freedom of living in the now! #41 - The Value of Your Time
Have you ever considered that one of your most valuable resources is your time?In this episode, I share some reflections on how we spend our time, and even how we sometimes take time away from others—often without much awareness. Sometimes we give it away because of social expectations, obligations, or simple politeness, even when we’d rather be doing something else. If we were truly honest with ourselves—and brave enough to use our time the way we really wanted—it could open the door to a whole new way of enjoying life. In this episode, I share my thoughts on how our mindsets can shift, how we already know within that we’re ready for it - all it takes is curiosity, being open, and a little self compassion. We often look to the outside world for answers, and sometimes it’s presumptuous for the outside world to tell us how to fix ourselves. #37 Caring without Carrying: A Yoga-inspired reflection on relationships
Sometimes we confuse kindness with over-giving, or compassion with being endlessly available — especially with family or close friends. But when your energy is being drained and your peace disturbed, is it still kindness? In this episode, I reflect on the yogic principles of ahimsa (non-harm) and satya (truth), and how they can guide us to protect our inner stability, especially when emotional dynamics with loved ones feel overwhelming. This is a conversation for anyone who’s ever felt pulled into someone else’s storm — and wondered if there's a better way to stay anchored. Thanks for Listening!I appreciate you taking the time to listen to my podcast and meditations. #35 Finding Myself, In Yoga (reflections after 1st week of YTT)
In this episode, I share what I’m discovering in the first days of yoga teacher training - 11 hour days filled with movement, meditation, learning the ancient teachings, and deep self-inquiry. I reflect on how trying something new can unlock powerful, unexpected growth. This isn't just about yoga poses or anatomy—it's about the beauty and challenge of self-discovery, connection, and finding your place, even when fear and self-doubt arise. It's about what happens beneath and beyond the physical practice. It's about what unfolds when we allow ourselves to be seen, when we challenge long-held stories, and when we meet ourselves with honesty, sometimes for the first time in years.I talk about the unexpected emotions that surfaced, the assumptions we carry into new spaces, and what it means to show up with vulnerability. And it’s also about discovering that we are all far more alike than we realize—once we begin to set aside the masks shaped by a world that taught us to protect, to perform, or to hide. When those filters fall away, we begin to find ourselves in each other. Thanks for Listening!I appreciate you taking the time to listen to my podcast and meditations. #33 The Space Between: what the home phone taught us in the 70s and 80s
In this episode, I go back in time to my childhood in the 70s and 80s where I reflect on how our big yellow rotary dial phone, attached to the wall in our home, somehow became the fabric that connected our family, built a sense of responsibility and respect for one another, and gave us a little bit more independence (teaching us to learn some life lessons on our own), and I suppose teaching our parents to let go of a little bit of control and have some trust. I look back at having those "spaces in between" as a child with a sense of nostalgia - the space away from home, where you were expected to follow the rules, and no one could contact you until you reached another phone, or returned home. I also share thoughts on how the mobile phone may have impacted some of the ways the family fabric has developed since those times. This is not meant to be an analysis or a strong opinion piece, but rather, just sharing some stories on observations from my own life. Sometimes just sharing a story and a few reflections can get us thinking about how things impact us in our own lives. it may also bring back some memories.I hope you enjoy it Thanks for Listening!I appreciate you taking the time to listen to my podcast and meditations. #32 When You Just Can't Find Your Gratitude
Many of us have heard about the benefits of practising gratitude. But for some of us, maybe you feel you can't find any reason to feel gratitude. Something might be holding you back. In this episode, I share my thoughts on why a practice of gratitude can be a healthy way to change your mindset. But for those who struggle with finding anything to feel thankful for, I offer another option. Before you can begin any practice of gratitude, if something is holding you back, you need to learn to become familiar with how you actually feel. We’ve been taught for so long that feeling negative emotions is not a good thing, that we learn to suppress them. And if we’ve been taught that feeling a certain way is bad, then we often don’t even know how to face our true feelings. I share my views on why there is no right or wrong and how you feel because it’s how you feel. There’s two sides to every feeling and each of us at one point or another in our lives will experience both. Learning to understand how you really feel, to face it, and find acceptance in it is the first step in finding acceptance in yourself. When you practice becoming aware of how you feel, all of the words and thoughts in your head that create that story to justify your feelings begins to get weaker, which is a good thing. I share my views on why it’s more authentic to be in tune with how you feel than how you think. So if you’re struggling because you know you’re suppressing something or you can’t find your happiness, and you certainly can’t find a way to begin practising gratitude, tune in - to see if it’s something you might be willing to try. I have full confidence that if you open yourself up to this practice, you will begin to feel much better and you will be able to find your gratitude. Thanks for Listening!I appreciate you taking the time to listen to my podcast and meditations. #31 On Being True to Yourself
In this episode, I share why it’s important to be true to yourself, without comparison to others, without fear of not being good enough. When you arrive each day in your life, as who you authentically are, you’re experiencing exactly what life is meant to be… for you. This is your life, and when you show up as YOU in each moment, you are able to experience the moments as they unfold for you. Living by comparison to what you think you should be, who you think you should be, what you should achieve, puts you in a place of not ever experiencing for yourself, not appreciating your moments, meant for you. Comparison takes you away from appreciating what is happening for you, and you may find yourself never feeling satisfied with the outcome.I share a couple of stories here about how this makes sense to me - in art, in yoga, in life. Join me.Thanks for Listening!I appreciate you taking the time to listen to my podcast and meditations. If you enjoy it, please follow the show, and review it. #30 Let It Go: A Meditation
This meditation is to help anyone who is struggling with something, or maybe holding onto thoughts that they cannot seem to let go of. We all know that hanging onto thoughts or worries does not serve us. And even if you can’t release those thoughts today or tomorrow, please know that you have the strength within you to find your way. But for now, consider taking this few moments to tune into this short meditation - less than 10 minutes - to give yourself permission to let it go. Let Go of your thoughts and worries even for a few minutes, take a breath, relax. Even if just for this brief time, it could do you a world of good. We all have times when worries or thoughts get in our way, and reminding yourself to LET IT GO, can sometimes help keep us on track.P.S - I kept this one short for those who may find they get in their head about something, and don't have the time or interest in learning to meditate or take space for themselves. Taking this time may help you to discover that you can take a few moments from your day to make space for yourself; to take a breath and break from it all. Thanks for Listening!I appreciate you taking the time to listen to my podcast and meditations. In this episode I share my thoughts about why it’s important to do that thing you always wanted to do but never felt you had time, or maybe the confidence, to take the plunge. Stepping out of your comfort zone can open up a new world of possibilities and experiences. It’s important to fill your personal cup- as we often spend more of our time filling the cups for others. I also share my experience with a new painting class. How do you fill your personal cup? Thanks for Listening!I appreciate you taking the time to listen to my podcast and meditations. #28 Choosing You and Finding Your Joy (embracing relationship realities) - A Meditation
This meditation is intended to give you a few moments to focus on yourself, to feel your essence and to discover that you have the wisdom within yourself to find your peace and happiness. If you are someone who feels that you often prioritize the needs of those around you, people you love and take care of, over your own needs; if you often feel unseen by your loved ones, or that your voice is not heard; or perhaps you live with worries for the health of someone you care about, while they continue to disregard your urging them to change their habits and behaviours, then perhaps its time to take a few moments now for you. You know you cannot change others - people cannot change unless they want and choose to change themselves. But you can learn to re-discover yourself; to choose you; and perhaps practice and learn to free yourself of the worries you carry for those around you. It is my hope that this meditation will help you find a few moments to remind yourself that this beautiful life is yours... you can choose to find your peace, contentment and joy. #27 A New Approach to New Year's Resolutions
It’s that time of year again when everyone will soon be bombarded with all of the advertisements and stories about how to become healthier and happier in 2025. We are all too familiar with setting new intentions for year ahead - when we often take the opportunity to reset, with plans to make changes to improve our lives, only to find that sometimes these well-meaning plans are abandoned within a few short weeks. In this episode, I invite you to consider a different approach. We often look outside ourselves for the answers to resolve many of the challenges we face in our lives. But in this episode, I explain why looking to the outside is not always helpful and it can sometimes set us on a path for failure. I also share how spending a little time getting to know how you really feel, is the path to living your truth and sticking to the plans that align with your true values and your heart. Later in the episode, I provide some concrete examples of how our thoughts can play tricks on us and can often be the culprit to destroying some of those well-intended goals that we set for ourselves. Sometimes our thoughts are not our friend. I hope you enjoy this episode. I truly believe if you allow yourself the time to learn more about YOU, and how you really feel, you may find yourself on an entirely new and fulfilling path for the year ahead.Happy New Year. My wish for you is to live in positively, health, and harmony.Natalie Thanks for Listening!I appreciate you taking the time to listen to my podcast and meditations. #26 - A Meditation to Help You Through the Holidays
The Holiday Season is upon us, and although for many it is a joyful time, bringing with it thoughts of love, and time with our friends and families, it can also be a time of stress, worries, or frustration. This meditation offers a little breather for you, to take a few moments to reset, and remind yourself that the thoughts you carry can create feelings and emotions that can affect your energy. And often, the energy that others around you bring to your space can also affect how you feel, how you react, and it can impact your own energies. Using breathwork, and this time alone with yourself, to help you feel your own essence and presence, can help you become more aware of how these other energies, and how your own thoughts, can affect your emotions. Give yourself the gift of time, to take this 20 minutes for a little breather from the busy-ness, to remind you of the importance of breathing, and of protecting your own energy. My wish for you is to have a peaceful and calm holiday season. Thanks for Listening!I appreciate you taking the time to listen to my podcast and meditations. #25 When the You That You Are Doesn't Work for Someone Else
Have you ever felt that you frequently annoy someone else, someone in your life that you care about, even though you know they may care about you as well? and you feel that sometimes, just being the way you are somehow annoys them... your little quirky ways, or your way of moving, talking, your energy, or your caring? Sometimes, when you are told you are annoying, or someone does or says something to suggest that your behaviour is irritating them, you can be left feeling hurt, or even a little upset with them. But it can also affect how you feel about yourself. You wonder if they are right. Are you annoying? Join me, as I share my views on why being YOU is a beautiful thing, and why YOU should not change those things that make you YOU. I also share why you should not blame someone else for being THEM. Hopefully, this episode may help those who find themselves hurt in relationships, learn that it is ok for you to you be you (in fact, it is wonderful), and it is OK for them to be them. #24 - Trust In the Unfolding of Your Life (A Meditation)
If you are feeling uncertain in life, not sure of the path to take, or perhaps feeling a little lost, or as if things just aren't working out for you as you intended, please know that all will be ok - we are all on our own unique journey in life. Sometimes the dark moments are there to teach you something, almost like guideposts - showing you that through these times, you can still see the light beyond. And in experiencing those moments (whether difficult times, or delays, uncertainty, or otherwise), you gain not only experience, but also the wisdom to learn from them. These times will guide you further along the path toward the light, the light which brings the acceptance, fulfillment, happiness, or love, that you may be seeking. Trust in the unfolding of your life, as it is meant to be.... for you. #23: Timelines - How appreciating our unique journey can help us in life and in relationships
In this episode I share thoughts on how our lives are all uniquely ours. Our path in life may not always work out as we expect or hope. But in realizing that each of our journeys is unique to us, and that maybe we have certain lessons we are meant to learn, we may find a way to accept the path our life is taking. This way of looking at life, also helps us maybe to realize that when we are in a relationship, sometimes this person we care about isn't behaving in sync with our thoughts or desires - they are on their own timeline in life, and their timing is just not in sync with ours. Sometimes, when someone we care about does something to hurt us, or refuses to change patterns of behaviour that we have asked them to change, if we can realize their behaviour is not about us, but its about them - their unique path in life - then maybe we can release those emotions we usually have when them they behave this way. Or, maybe we can manage those reactions we might have had in the past and instead, find strength in knowing that WE have the ability to change our decisions or our actions, in response to that. Thanks for Listening!I appreciate you taking the time to listen to my podcast and meditations. #22- A Meditation As We Transition to Autumn
As the summer ends, we often find our thoughts consumed by all that we must do, what is to come, with little thought about the present moment. But saying goodbye to one season and entering another gives us that perfect opportunity to take a pause, a pause between the seasons – a little time to take a breather from our busy lives and the thoughts of the past and the future. So join me in a brief meditation to take time to pause, breathe and savour the present moment as we embark into the autumn season. #21-Insecurities: A Path to Self-Discovery and Peace
In this episode I talk about insecurities-Those little personal “flaws” that we are often led to believe we have, learned from something perhaps we were told as a child, or observing the patterns and behaviors of others in society. Things that we don't like about ourselves, and that we carry with us, seemingly without any issue. But insecurities, even about what we may admittedly think are minor things, can affect our behaviors, our well-being and our relationships. In this episode I touch on how sometimes insecurities can not only prevent us from participating in certain events in life and trying new things, but they can also drive us to behaviors intended to correct or perfect what we believe to be perceived flaw about ourselves. Sometimes these behaviors that we are driven to engage in outwardly look like signs of success, whether they be hard work, focus on fitness and improving our physical condition, or seeking perfection in our lives in one way or another. Yet, even though you may be feeling like overcoming those little insecurities has made you successful, this may be masking a deeper feeling that you still have not resolved within yourself, and you may find yourself on a pattern of constantly seeking perfection to fill a void that you just simply haven't resolved. In this episode, I talk about how insecurities are created by the external world, by that assumption that “sameness” is what we should all be striving for. However true contentment and peace comes from embracing our unique differences and understanding that when we live our truth, we not only embrace our own differences, but we can embrace those of others, thereby allowing us to live in a world with less judgment and more love.I welcome you to join me.Thanks for Listening!I appreciate you taking the time to listen to my podcast and meditations. #20: On Keeping Secrets (and the freedom that comes from releasing them and finding peace)
In this episode, I share my thoughts on how damaging secrets can be, with a focus on those personal secrets we keep, hidden out of shame, embarrassment, fear of judgement. Secrets come from fear, and in hiding them, you may be suppressing or denying the event that happened. But your secrets are not you - YOU are not your secrets. It may have happened, or you may have done something you may now regret, and whether big or small, it is not you. I share my thoughts on how life's journey may have some similar experiences, but our trajectories are different, and our lives do not need to take the shape or image of anyone else's. Indeed, they shouldn't. The events that happen to us, or that we may cause, are part of our life journey, part of the lessons we need to learn to bring us the wisdom to grow and find ourselves, our truth. The duality of happiness and pain, is necessary for growth. In learning to become AWARE of what you are hiding, and seeing it as an observer, but not as part of you (because what happens to you is NOT you!), you can gain a better perspective about it, and find yourself on the path to releasing the strains it has placed on you. #19: A Short Meditation to Give Yourself Love and Space
This meditation is for YOU, to give you a few minutes to take a breather, get away from any thoughts of the past and future, to give yourself a little self-love, and to embrace yourself with gratitude for all that you are. We can all benefit from taking a few minutes each day just for us, and taking some quiet time to be in your own presence - with no distractions. When you are open to giving yourself some love, positivity and space away from the busy-ness, you will begin to learn how to pay attention to how you feel (physically, mentally and emotionally), and become more in tune with YOU. Taking a few minutes just for you, in a loving and positive way, is an important first step in paying attention to yourself and your needs.(You may also be interested to check out Episode #18: "Getting to know YOU: The Important Practice of Giving Yourself Space for Finding and Living Your Truth", where I talk about how we can become more in tune with ourselves, leading us to discovering our personal truth and gaining the wisdom and courage to make decisions that serve us well and lead us to a place of contentment. Thanks for Listening!I appreciate you taking the time to listen to my podcast and meditations. #18 Getting to know YOU: The important practice of giving yourself space for finding and living your truth
In this episode I share my thoughts on why it is important to take time to get to know YOU - the real you. We are often so caught up in the busy-ness of our lives, that we don't take time to even think about how we FEEL about our lives, how we feel about the activities we spend much of our time doing, or the relationships that play a constant role in our lives. How do we spend our energy? who do we give it to? what gives us energy? can we find our truth, and our purpose? Join me, as I share my thoughts on how, by giving yourself this bit of space just for you, it can be transformational for your life. It is when you become more aware of your own presence in the world in real time and how you feel in each of the moments that takes you through your life, that you can begin to discover more about the joy that comes from being you and it can lead you to the path of consciousness and enlightenment.Later in the episode I offer a few ideas on how you may be able to find some space for yourself each day. #17: On Laughter & Hugs (and their impact on our well-being)
In this episode, through a couple of personal stories and observations, I share my views about how hugs and laughter can make our lives, and our relationships, more meaningful. I also talk about the health benefits of laughter, and the value in taking some time to pay attention when we give or receive a warm embrace with someone we care about. Although a light-hearted topic, I invite you to tune in and consider how hugs and laughter play a role in your life, and whether you may just want to pay a little more attention to how they show up!Some links to articles on the topic (as mentioned in the episode):https://mensa.org.uk/the-science-of-laughter/https://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-lifestyle/stress-management/in-depth/stress-relief/art-20044456https://www.cnn.com/2021/07/01/health/science-of-laughter-scn-wellness/index.htmlThanks for Listening!I appreciate you taking the time to listen to my podcast and meditations. A Meditation for Those Experiencing Pain (fr Ep #16)
This meditation is to help those who may be experiencing significant pain, where there is a feeling that you cannot overcome it. If you tuned into Episode 16, released with this meditation ("On the Loneliness of Pain"), I explain how we can feel alone in our pain, and also how our thoughts can consume us in times of pain. At times when the pain is so intense that your thoughts are consumed with it, you may find that the experience of pain can become heightened. This guided meditation is intended to take you to a place where, through focused breathing, and bringing your mind to a place where you can become an observer of your pain - as if it is a visitor, but it is not you - you can discover that your thoughts are not you, and you are not your pain, you may be able to experience a little respite from the extreme pain experience. While your pain experience is real, being open to a practice of meditation that can help you to see your pain in a different way, and to perhaps even take you to a place where you can recall other pain free times, you may also be able to rewire some of those pain signals in your brain, and maybe this may help you become more aware of how your thoughts can play a role in the experience of pain, and how you can change your thought patters to help perhaps alleviate it a little. I hope this helps. A note on my meditations: I have been creating these guided meditations for myself, based on what I have been learning through this journey of self-awareness. And I have decided to share them for anyone else who may find them helpful. Thanks for Listening!I appreciate you taking the time to listen to my podcast and meditations. #16: The Loneliness of Pain and Navigating Through It
In this episode, I share my thoughts and reflections on the experience of pain, and how isolating it can be for those who experience it on a constant basis. Sometimes our thoughts can take us to a place where we feel unlike everyone around us, who seem to be carefree and full of energy. And we can feel as if we must hold our feelings deep inside as no one wants to hear about it, they don't understand it, and we don't want to bring people down. I share my views on how pain is a shared human experience that we all have at one time or another, but is ahuman experience that we often experience alone. But we are not alone in our pain. I discuss how the experience of pain can be different for everyone, which may lead to the lack of understanding in what we may be going through; and how our thoughts can play tricks on us, and allowing our thoughts about our pain, including how we think others react, can consume us and often make the pain experience worse. I share my thoughts on a few tools that may help us start to think about our pain differently, or at least to help us become more aware of those thoughts that can affect us and our experience of it; as well as some suggestions for finding ways to release your feelings about your pain - sharing your feelings in a supportive, non-judgmental manner is, in my view, an important way to help us navigate the pain experience, and maybe find a path toward managing it better.A separate meditation for those experiencing pain is being released with this episode. #15- From Sadness to Gratitude - A message from my younger self
In this episode, I share something I recently came across that I had written about 25 years ago, during a time in my life when I felt very alone - a time of sadness, when I frequently carried feelings of grief, loss, along with a little uncertainty about my life. The poem came from a place where I took the time to reflect on how I was feeling, and I learned that from that reflection, I found gratitude for my life, my well being, and even for my ability to experience sadness. I thought it was worth sharing. A Meditation to Stop Worrying, to Find Your Peace, and The Freedom to Be You.
This Meditation is released along with Episode 14, "Stop Worrying About What Other People Think, and About Everything Else! My Thoughts on How LIfe Is Like a Dream". Feel free to check out that episode, where I share thoughts and tools on how meaningless our worries, are and how to stop that cycle!THIS MEDITATION:This meditation is an opportunity for you to take a little time with yourself, to clear your thoughts of the worries that may often fill your mind, and to take a few moments to be honest with yourself. Maybe to think back to a time where your mind was never filled with these kinds of thoughts, when you enjoyed every little moment without the fear of what you needed to think, or do. This is also a time to think about the strength that can come from within when you begin to practice awareness in identifying the moments those thoughts begin to enter your mind, when you begin to recognize that those thoughts are separate from who you are. When you learn to let go of their hold, release them or simply observe them without attachment, you will find peace and strength and confidence in who you are and how you think, leading you to discover the pure bliss of consciousness and the true essence of your being, YOU, as you are meant to be. #14- Stop Worrying About What Other People Think, and About Everything Else! My thoughts on how Life is Like a Dream
In this episode, I share my thoughts on how to break free from the cycle of those needless worries that are often filling your mind, by learning the power of conscious or mindful living. I share thoughts on how most of our worries are about what other people will think about us, fear of judgement by others. I explore the senseless nature of worries, and how they prevent us from fully experiencing life. And, I offer some practical thoughts on how becoming more conscious of the present moment, will help you to address worries as they creep into your thoughts (as we often live with these thoughts without even being aware of them). I also touch on the fleeting nature of life, comparing our life experiences to dreams.... moments that may be forgotten shortly after they have passed, illustrating just how senseless it is to worry about the thoughts someone else may have about you, not to mention, that you are often incorrect in your thoughts about what others may even be thinking! Tune in to find out how to change your focus from what others think to what truly counts - your inner peace and happiness! As usual, I am also releasing a separate meditation today with this episode, so if you enjoy my meditations, please check that out as well! Thank you! #13: The 3AM Club: Finding Calm and Getting Back to Sleep
In this episode, I share my sleep(less) stories, from the perspective of a 50 something female, who has learned all too well what 3 AM looks like, while all the world seems to be asleep. Having tried everything, I recently found a couple of ways to ease myself back into sleep, which I share here. I also share my experience with that 3 AM witching hour, that seems to happen - no matter where we are. Practising awareness, and accepting these quiet wakeful moments without judgment, can change how we look at sleeplessness, allow us to still our minds, and ease us back into slumber. I also share a bit of fun with howler monkeys! I created this episode to explain the purpose and focus for my "Mediation to Ease You Back Into Sleep", also released the same time as this episode. I create these mediations for my own use - as they help me in those moments, and my reason for sharing them is in the hope that others may also find them helpful. A Meditation: On Listening to Your Heart (from Episode #12)
Often our decisions are made by listening to our thinking minds, which comes from past programming that can often be misinformed. In Episode 12, I share my thoughts on why we may want to rethink those "should do" messages coming from our thoughts, and instead start to become aware of how our heart feels. We can trust in our hearts, and if we can become aware enough to learn how to listen to our heart when it calls to us, we may find the answers to the questions that we may be asking ourselves. This meditation provides a few quiet moments to spend time with your heart, to begin the practice of listening to your heart. Join me . I hope you enjoy it! #12 - On Rethinking what you "should" do; and listening to your heart (with Meditation)
In this episode, I talk about how telling ourselves that we should do something, usually means we are resisting it. If you really want to do something, you don't usually need to convince yourself that 'you should'. When we are resisting something, it may be a sign that we are doing something in opposition to our heart. I share my thoughts on how when we rethink those actions that come from our thinking minds (which are often misinformed by past programming), we may be able to hear the messages from our hearts. We cannot always trust in our logic, our thoughts; but we can trust our heart. I share thoughts on how we can practice listening to our hearts, to find the answers to the questions we may be asking ourselves. A meditation follows that provides some quiet moments to spend time with your heart, to begin the practice of listening to your heart. Join me .Please note: these episodes begin with personal stories and reflections on the topic, almost always followed by a meditation. I usually release the meditation separately within the week after the episode is released so you can enjoy the meditation later on its own.
