And the gatekeeper to our healing is our autonomic nervous system—or Jiritsu-shinkei. Today, we are going to intentionally shift out of survival mode and into a state of deep rest. [1:30] The Breath Work: Often, we live with our foot on the gas pedal. Right now, we are giving the body permission to hit the brakes. Let’s "sculpt" our breath into a new rhythm: inhaling for a count of 4, and exhaling for a count of 6. This longer exhale is the key to unlocking your calm. [2:45] Resetting: Inhale 2, 3, 4.
