Nurturing Narratives in November

This year, International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day will be observed on November 23rd. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), it is estimated that more than 700,000 individuals die by suicide each year. Imagine the countless lives they leave behind. The pain and scars of losing someone who has lost the battle against depression are overwhelming and complex. Survivors are susceptible to experiencing thoughts of suicide themselves as feelings of pain, regret, guilt, anger, and confusion consume them. This can be incredibly difficult to cope with, and these individuals need to know they are not alone in this struggle.From pain to hope, maintaining good mental health is essential to dealing with such extreme grief. This episode will illuminate a path of hope for those who have lost someone to suicide by providing insights and tips from Dr. Kevin Ganzon, a fourth year psychiatry resident and a mental health expert on how to manage these complex emotions.
