Healthy Body & Healthy Mind With James Wheeler!

James Wheeler is the founder of Fitness and Mind, a coaching brand built specifically for neurodivergent people who've been let down by one-size-fits-all fitness advice. Drawing on nearly 20 years in inclusive fitness delivery, James created the Bad Days First™ framework and Minimum Viable Action method — approaches designed around the reality of fluctuating energy, motivation, and capacity, rather than fighting against it. He also works in public health delivery across Essex, and sits on the governance boards of a local primary school and a young carers' charity. This is a pretty hard hitting interview at times so please listen with caution. James was totally open and honest in our chat and there are mentions of an attempt James made on his own life. Having said that, this episode is not without it's light hearted moments and I had a brilliant time chatting with James. For all things James related click here! This is the last episode of season three of the podcast, however, fret not! Crossing Continents & Creating Community with Khelsy!

I'm just back from a tres bien weekend away in France visiting my family and todays episode is a very French one indeed! My guest this week is Khelsy...Based in Paris, Khelsy is a late-diagnosed AuDHD lesbian, creator, and the founder of NEUROLY. Through candid storytelling, she shares exactly what happens when you stop trying to fit in and finally start trusting yourself. By using raw honesty to challenge the idea that it’s ever too late to start over, Khelsy invites anyone stuck in self-doubt to ditch the pressure and lean into their own intuition. Her stories are a reminder that you don’t have to navigate the messy parts of self-discovery alone, showing that there’s no such thing as being too late to be yourself.I had an awesome time chatting with Khelsy. She's a fascinating person with so many stories to share. Please be warned, we do touch on some tough topics that some people may find triggering including domestic abuse and a brief mention of suicide attempt. Healing From Trauma With K.A.P. With Sean Gillen!

In next week's episode, I have a brilliant guest who, during our interview, mentions K.A.P. and the positive affect it's had on her life. I hadn't heard of K.A.P. before chatting with her so in this week's episode I decided I should find out all about it in anticipation of that episode being released. Enter Sean Gillen from EULAS Clinics in Scotland who is here to educate us all about it. He talks in detail about what exactly K.A.P. is, who it's suitable for, how it's administered and the potential benefits. There is also mention of some subjects that some listeners may find triggering including drug misuse and brief mentions of war. Sean Gillen, director of eulas clinics. After 15 years of working in mental health services and seeing poor outcomes on a regular basis,  Sean and his team started eulas clinics with the intention of bringing a more modern and effective approach to mental health treatment. Sean and his team are the first to provide ketamine assisted psychotherapy in Scotland and have now branched out to London to make this treatment as available and accessible as possible. For more information about K.A.P. click hereMy merch has finally been released! Gill Of All Trades! With Gillian Charlton!

I've called this episode Gill Of All Trades because Gill is someone, who like me and many other ADHD people, has many strings to her bow and it's something I feel we should celebrate more! I was first introduced to Gill through my gorgeous mate Laura on a facetime, if I recall correctly, last New Years Eve. She was bouncing around in her pyjamas singing and I was immediately drawn to her energy. Gill is a naturally funny person, which is something I love but there is also so much more to her...Gill Charlton is a former British Army soldier, comedian, celebrant, speaker and full‑time Northern chatterbox. She was diagnosed with combined‑type ADHD at 38 while still serving, during treatment for PTSD and following a cancer diagnosis in 2018.After 24 years in the Army, PTSD and a long medical discharge process led Gill to leave service in 2023, throwing her sense of identity into chaos. She coped the only way an ADHD brain knows how — by doing everything. Gill immersed herself in recovery programmes based around adaptive sport, saying yes to sailing, snowboarding, climbing, axe throwing and pretty much anything else offered. She was also selected for the Invictus Games and took a stand‑up comedy course, which led to her becoming co‑founder and director of the Veterans Comedy Club CIC.After leaving the Army, Gill retrained and worked full‑time as a celebrant, building a business rooted in connection, humour and authenticity — a role she still continues alongside her work. A year ago, she moved into a full‑time Events Executive role in the charity sector, supporting military‑connected communities. Through podcasts like ADHD AF, Gill found the ADHD community she’d been searching for and now runs the Manchester peer support group for the ADHD AF+ charity. She’s also a mum to two AuDHD sons, an event host and speaker, and someone who gets involved in almost everything.Gill's celebrant website: www.gillcharlton.co.uk Veterans Comedy Club website: Veterans Comedy Club | Armed Forces ComedySign up for email reminders to the Manchester  Peer Support Groups — ADHDAF+ CharityMy merch has finally been released! Nowt As Queer As Folk! With Heidi Mavir!

In this episode, I'm joined by the wonderful Heidi Mavir for a conversation that was originally meant to focus on the brilliant work she does through EOTAS Matters and The Marble Run.That was the plan, anyway. In true ADHD fashion, we took a wonderfully unexpected detour and found ourselves talking about queerness instead - which honestly could not be more perfect, given that this episode is being released during Pride Month!Fret not! Stimming, Self Regulation, Safe Spaces & Silliness! With Erin Fung!

In possibly my most unmasked and unfiltered episode yet, I've got my bestie, Erin, on to talk about our stims, tics, the ways we self regulate and then a ton of our usual tangents. This episode is a completely natural, unmasked conversation between two really good mates and contains dodgy accents, a load of vocal stims, silly voices and mayhem but hopefully it will be relatable and can help eradicate some of the stigma attached to openly stimming. S.E.N.D. Help! With AuDHDacious Humans!

Martha and Jenni met as teachers at the same progressive school where their kids werestudents and became each other's children's key teachers. Jenni ran mini shopping trolleyraces down corridors with Martha's son for vestibular regulation. Martha provided Jenni'sdaughters with peanut balls to bounce on so they could focus enough to write andcalculate Maths whilst reciting favourite Bluey episodes.Despite 40 years combined teaching experience and knowing exactly whatneurodivergent children needed, they both realised their own AuDHD/PDA kids weren'tschool-shaped. Not even alternative-school-shaped. So over 3 years ago, they left theirteaching jobs and the education system and started their real education. When they couldn't find home ed clubs that could accommodate their demand-avoidantchildren, they created Make & Create Club: a flexible, low-demand space where rulemakers, rule breakers thrive. They offer community, advocacy and the freedom to beyourself. Now through AuDHDacious Humans, they provide online support for discombobulatedfamilies to understand sensory systems, reframe behaviour, and ditch systems that breakthem. They've lived this experience too, as late-diagnosed AuDHDers, parenting pressure-sensitive children, unravelling everything they thought they knew about parenting and education. Some people call it a journey. They call it a reckoning.Website: www.audhdacious.comEmail: [email protected]: @audhdacious.humansBuy your copy of ADHD Magazine here!Send me your little wins so I can celebrate you on the podcast by either sliding into my DMs on instagramor email me at [email protected] Find your local ADHDAF+ peer support group here!Support neurodivergent independent businesses: Shop at Born Anxious using the code AUDHD15 for a special price! You can help support The Big ADHD Fundraiser by buying a Dave Kirkman hoodie here!Purchase your official hidden disabilities sunflower lanyard here!

I've completed the collection! Today I have the final member of the ADHD Adults joining me on the podcast. Celebrating Our Weird! With Holly Matthews

As we all know, the reason I named the podcast AuDHD Or Just A Bit Weird is because that's what I've always been called throughout my life and always in a derogatory manner... But since starting the podcast I've reclaimed weird as a positive thing and this is where the amazing Holly Matthews comes into the picture...Holly Matthews is a former TV actress (Byker Grove, Waterloo Road, Casualty) and singer (Signed to Sony at 18, appeared on TOTP’s, MTV, Disney) who learnt how to use her ‘weird’ to stand out from the crowd. After the death of her husband to brain cancer in 2017, when she was just 32, the mum of 2 began her mission to help others to embrace their own ‘weird’, build their confidence and feel ‘more happy and less crappy’.The Happy Me Project runs events across the UK, is an online coaching membership, podcast and has seen Holly asked to speak and create workshops for Aldi, SEND prison, Sainsburys and wellbeing festivals across the UK.For all things Holly...Be weird (er) LiveThe Happy Me Project Membership Your FREE Weird is your Winning Edge Unmasking workbook + pep talkBuy your copy of ADHD Magazine here!Send me your little wins so I can celebrate you on the podcast by either sliding into my DMs on instagramor email me at [email protected] Find your local ADHDAF+ peer support group here!Support neurodivergent independent businesses: Shop at Born Anxious using the code AUDHD15 for a special price! You can help support The Big ADHD Fundraiser by buying a Dave Kirkman hoodie here!Purchase your official hidden disabilities sunflower lanyard here!

Swimming, Feeling Fraudulent & Coaching Coaches With Sally Cater

SO MUCH TO CRAM IN TO ONE EPISODE!!!! But I think I've managed it! There's a mega life update at the beginning and then I had the pleasure this week of chatting with the amazing Sally Cater who is a coach who coaches coaches! I've been keen to find out more about coaching and what training to become one involves and Sally was happy to help me out but as usual with all of my guests, we go off on some fun tangents including swimming in the sea, Sally's impending ADHD assessment, her amazing talent for napping and her brush with the law! (The two hilariously go hand in hand!)In Sally's own words...I spent more than a decade working at the British Red Cross, including training frontline crisis teams to provide psychosocial support in some unbelievably difficult conditions. During this time, I became an Accredited Senior Practitioner Coach with the EMCC and hold the ILM highest level in Advanced Coaching and Mentoring. After striking out on my own as a leadership consultant and executive coach. I combined both my lived experience and formal learning in ADHD with the understanding gained from many years supporting neurodivergent clients to design and deliver an ICF accredited ADHD course for coaches. I really needed the support that ADHD coaching gave me and I know there are loads of brilliant people out there that could really benefit from ADHD coaching and so we need you to be part of that community. With over 2000 hours of coaching across technology, healthcare, and automotive industries, I adopt a whole-self approach to non-directive coaching. Here's To Health & Happiness! With Erin Fung

Health anxiety has been something that has monopolized a lot of my thought processes since I was a child and I know many other neurodivergent people who also struggle with this. As my mate Erin is one of those people and she's someone I trust and find it easy to talk to her I knew she was the perfect person to have on the podcast to talk about it, however, our brains had other ideas and at the halfway mark we segued nicely into talking about what makes us happy, learning to allow ourselves to be happy eradicating the shame attached to being drawn to the more traditionally childish and geeky things that we love and that make us super happy!Enjoy! For all things Erin related click here!Send me your little wins so I can celebrate you on the podcast by either sliding into my DMs on instagramor email me at [email protected] Support neurodivergent independent businesses: Shop at Born Anxious using the code AUDHD15 for a special price!Find your local ADHDAF+ peer support group here! You can help support The Big ADHD Fundraiser by buying a Dave Kirkman hoodie here!Purchase your official hidden disabilities sunflower lanyard here!

So Now What?! With Blair Kelly

Approximately 18 billion years ago I had a really good mate called Blair who was a fellow quirky person with an awesome sense of humour and never judged me for being my weirdy self. Over the years we lost touch and I always wondered what became of them... until one day a few weeks ago when Blair turned up in my "people you may know" on Instagram... Without hesitating (naturally impulsive nature anyone?!) I added Blair and got chatting... and would you believe it.... Blair was diagnosed with ADHD 2 days after me!!! I'm thrilled that Blair was happy to come on the podcast so we could catch up and talk about how we are feeling post diagnosis. Please note that this is a very candid chat between two old mates who hadn't seen each other in an age. We cover a ton of topics and I'm so grateful for Blair coming on the podcast to share their story. Blair is a Scottish vocal coach, lecturer, songwriter and performance artist based in South London. They are the founder and artistic director of Errata, London’s Queerest Choir and collaborates frequently with LGBTQIA+ choirs and vocal groups. We, of course go off on many tangents today including what made me pluck up the courage to invite her onto the podcast... our mutual love of the movie Labyrinth, funko pops and the muppets! Trigger warning, today's episode contains discussion on disordered eating amongst other topics some listeners may find upsetting.Join me in celebrating the fourth annual ADHDAF day by uploading a picture or video of you wearing an item of leopard print and use the hashtag #ADHDAFDAYFind your local ADHDAF+ peer support group here!Find out more about ADHDAF Day and donate to the Just Giving page here!Buy your ADHDAF Day pin (with £7.50 from the sale of each pin going to the chazza!) here!Send me your little wins so I can celebrate you on the podcast by either sliding into my DMs here or email me at [email protected]

The Importance Of Peer Support with Laura Mears Reynolds

October is ADHD Awareness month and what better way to kick things off than a chat with the Queen of the Leopard Print Army, Laura Mears Reynolds, about the importance of peer support. Laura started up the ADHDAF+ charity in order to connect and empower late diagnosed people of marginalised genders in the UK and form peer support groups. I know how important peer support can be after growing up in a world that's geared towards neurotypical people. Also… she taught me how to do links!! 🫶🐆🫡🎖️Find your local ADHDAF+ peer support group here!Find out more about ADHDAF Day and donate to the Just Giving page here!Buy your ADHDAF Day pin (with £7.50 from the sale of each pin going to the chazza!) here!Send me your little wins so I can celebrate you on the podcast by either sliding into my DMs here or email me at [email protected]

Sex & Relationships with Sam Brown

She’s back! The queen of chaos returns! Sam Brown, or Mrs AuDHD as you may know her, is back on the podcast and originally were going to talk about how sex is affected by our neurodivergence, but shockingly enough we got distracted and went off on a some fun tangents about relationships, gender and trying to look at things from other people’s perspectives. Clear & Cheer with Gemma Louise

As all listeners of the podcast know, one of my biggest hurdles that affects me in so many ways is the state of my house. Check out the Mucky F**ker episode for more background on that! But then I discovered an instagram profile called Clear & Cheer that's run by a declutterer called Gemma Louise who works along side neurodivergent people helping them sort through the chaos in their homes and restore some order. Gemma was great to chat with and definitely gave me more than a few handy hints on how to reclaim a bit of order in my house and hopefully you can gain some too!www.instagram.com/clearandcheerSend me your Little Wins so I can celebrate you on the podcast!www.instagram.com/audhdorjustabitweird[email protected] there's still time to donate to the Big ADHD Fundraiser where 11 intrepid leopard print lycra clad lovelies cycled 288 miles across Scotland, Wales and England from August 1st - 3rd to raise money for ADHD Adult UK and ADHDAF+ charities, two charities I hold very dear to my own heart.https://givestar.io/gs/the-big-adhd-fundraiser-2025

Neurodiversity in The Workplace with Rachel Morgan-Trimmer

    Thriving with Charlotte Ashley

After giving up smoking I started finding dopamine hits in sweet treats, that mixed with a total lack of exercise led to weight gain and feeling unhealthy, both physically and mentally. A few months ago I finally started to take hold of my physical health and make some slow and steady positive changes so I was really keen to get a neurodivergent person who works in this area on the podcast… and thanks to my own wonderful PT, I was put in touch with strength and consistency coach and all round amazing human being Charlotte Ashley. Charlotte has her own coaching program called THRV focussing on “nervous system first coaching for meltdowny, chaotic brains”We had an awesome chat and I definitely feel I gained a ton of helpful information from someone who really understands the difficulties of staying physically and mentally healthy with a neurodivergent brainFor all things Charlotte related:https://linktr.ee/coached_by_charlotteashleySend me your little wins so I can celebrate you on the [email protected] side into my dms on instahttps://www.instagram.com/audhdorjustabitweird/ And there's still time to donate to the Big ADHD Fundraiser where 11 intrepid leopard print lycra clad lovelies cycled 288 miles across Scotland, Wales and England from August 1st - 3rd to raise money for ADHD Adult UK and ADHDAF+ charities, two charities I hold very dear to my own heart.https://givestar.io/gs/the-big-adhd-fundraiser-2025
