We talk openly about weight loss with Mounjaro and how much easier it is now to play Jiu Jitsu with less body fat. Kieron started in martial arts in Pro Wrestling many years ago, started Jiu Jitsu back in 2012 and family responsibilities took more of a front row position until this year. Having goals for your Jiu Jitsu journey is something quite important, whether it is getting to a single class a week or achieving an advanced belt rank before you're 50. Surprisingly, Kieron took the opportunity throughout the episode to ask me some questions. He came to the sport as a competitive player, having lost his leg at 23 and only gotten into sports again at age 30. One of Paul's goals for the future is to promote and support Para Jiu Jitsu here in the UK. To keep his cardio at a peak level, he trains on a Spin bike on a very regular basis, and anything that Paul now does has to contribute to his progress in Jiu Jitsu, especially to enable him competing at every level. Topics:Competitive sportsPersonal identityBeing a role modelCross trainingDiscipline Para Jiu JitsuBLESMAAmputee athleteSpinningCoachingDetermination GO FOLLOWPaul on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/legless9/Keep Showing Up Clothing on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/keep_showing_up_clothing/ Watch on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@JiuJitsuLou Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jiu.jitsu.louFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/jiujitsuloupodcast PRODUCTION CREDIT: Kerr Mathieson of Audio OutsourceMUSIC CREDIT:ARTIST: Maleki Ram | TRACK: Just A Little Boy This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License. Get your Limited Edition Rash guard celebrating the 100th episode of the JIU JITSU LOU Podcast. Before the 18th September! https://adaptjj.com/collections/unreleased Josh Vogel started martial arts back in 1999, starting Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in 2003 realised it was something he wanted to do as a career, after moving on from skateboarding and Ninja movies. Having been mugged and beaten up in his teenage years, learning Jiu Jitsu seemed like a good move, and being a creative, and realising that he wasn't going to be the best at what he was doing, wasn't going to turn out as a profession but Jiu Jitsu was. Josh was inspired by the potential of practice, magic and visualisation of one day achieving his Black Belt, and no real limit to what he could achieve for his life. He shares the surprise of his achievement in this art, with his wife Ange, to-date, owning a Jiu Jitsu school, and much more. The concept of 'filling buckets' for each position you may find yourself in, in Jiu Jitsu is really important, certainly for those of us at lower ranks of BJJ. Josh helps us to understand how to deal with the differences in training partners, when coaching kids, or even learning Jiu Jitsu ourselves. Topics:Ninja MoviesSkateboardingKung FuSport Jiu JitsuBalancing training and lifeTournaments'Street sport'Structured trainingJiu Jitsu ConWorld MastersProblem solvingCultureSafeSpot Sponsor of this episode is: The Jiu Jitsu Co Fightwear | Après-Roll: https://www.instagram.com/thejiujitsucofightwear/ GO FOLLOWJosh on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/joshrvogel/SafeSpot on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/safespotphilly/Jiu Jitsu Company Fightwear on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thejiujitsucofightwear/ Watch on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@JiuJitsuLou Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jiu.jitsu.louFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/jiujitsuloupodcast PRODUCTION CREDIT: Kerr Mathieson of Audio OutsourceMUSIC CREDIT:ARTIST: Maleki Ram | TRACK: Just A Little Boy This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License.
