Minding Mine with Evelyn LeVasseur

The Self-Centered Mom is for the woman who is done being the constant for everyone else and ready to be the authority in her life, on her own terms. The woman who wants her fire back and intends to leave a legacy that breaks every cycle she was handed. Who is raising daughters to live as full human beings, not as someone who disappears for others comfort. Who is raising sons who understand that women are not here to simply take care of them. Every week, we bring the honest, disruptive, compassionately direct conversation that this work actually requires. We name the conditioning. We dismantle the systems. And we build  - specifically, practically, really -  a life where you are the center. This is the work. And you're already ready for it.

How To Raise Self-Trusting Girls: 5 Parenting Strategies That Actually Work

In this episode of the Minding Mine podcast, I'm getting real about one of the most important things I'm doing as a mom - teaching my daughters to deeply trust themselves. While I'm still doing my own inner work and unlearning old patterns, I'm intentional about giving my girls the foundation I wish I'd had. Here are the five things I practice at home: 1. I let them disagree with me. I don't pull the "because I said so" card. Instead, I create space for respectful dialogue, genuinely listen to my daughters' perspectives, and celebrate them for speaking their truth — even when it's hard. 2. I ask questions instead of giving advice. When something happens at school or with a friend, I resist the urge to jump in and fix it. I validate, get curious, and guide my girls back to their own instincts — because I want the voice in their head to be theirs, not mine. 3. I apologize when I'm wrong. I'm human — sometimes I'm distracted, snappy, or checked out. When that happens, I own it, repair it, and move forward. I'm modeling that accountability and love can exist in the same breath. 4. I don't judge my body — or anyone else's. After years of dieting and shrinking myself, I'm intentional about never talking negatively about bodies in front of my girls. I talk about movement for strength, health, and stress relief — not for how it makes me look. 5. I let them watch me choose myself. My daughters see me record podcast episodes, lead groups, and take the stage — nervous and doing it anyway. That's the real lesson: trust isn't the absence of fear. It's moving forward even when your knees are knocking. Bonus tip: Don't underestimate the car ride conversation. Some of the best, most open moments happen in those 10–15 minutes after school. If this episode resonated with you, leave a comment, rate, and review the podcast. Self-Forgiveness, Vulnerability & Marriage: Stacy Rocklein

In this episode of Minding Mine, I sit down with coach, speaker, and author Stacy Rocklein, and we have an honest, layered conversation about forgiveness, loneliness, and emotional intimacy. We talk about the kind of loneliness that exists even inside good marriages. The kind that shows up in a room full of people. The kind that doesn’t go away just because you “have everything.” Stacy shares how her journey into forgiveness began when she realized she wasn’t actually forgiving — she was bypassing. Skipping over pain. Avoiding vulnerability. Holding it together. And how that created invisible distance in her closest relationships. We explore: What forgiveness really means (and why it doesn’t require an apology) The defense mechanisms we don’t realize we’re using How loneliness can exist inside healthy relationships Why self-forgiveness is the foundation for emotional intimacy The burden (and power) of teaching someone how to show up for you Why boundaries and forgiveness must work together How our relationship with ourselves shapes every relationship we have The generational shift happening in parenting and partnership What to do when you don’t get the apology you hoped for Why vulnerability is the antidote to loneliness We also talk about marriage — the difference between love as a feeling and love as a daily choice. And I share how releasing the belief that my marriage defined me changed everything. This conversation is deep, reflective, and honest. If you’ve ever felt unseen, emotionally disconnected, or stuck waiting for someone else to change first — this episode is for you. Triggered Moms Raise Triggered Kids: Amy Haydak

Motherhood will expose you. Because it activates everything you haven’t healed. In this episode of Minding Mine, I sit down with licensed clinical social worker and parenting coach Amy Haydak, and we talk about what it really means to break generational cycles — while you’re still in the middle of raising your kids. Not after therapy. Not once you’ve “figured it out.” Right now.  We talk about emotional regulation. The real-life version. The grocery store meltdown version. The snapping over dishes version. The “why am I this angry?” version. Most of us weren’t taught how to feel. We were taught to behave. So now we’re raising children who feel out loud… and it’s confronting. In this conversation, we unpack: Why you don’t even realize you’re activated half the time What emotional regulation actually feels like in your body The difference between authority and leadership How subtle trauma shapes your reactions Why your child isn’t being “defiant” — they’re dysregulated What repair looks like when you mess up How to reparent yourself while raising your kids We also talk about guilt — because once you see the pattern, you can’t unsee it. But awareness is power. You don’t need to be a perfect mother, you need to be an intentional one. Cycle breaking isn’t about getting things right every time. It’s about raising kids who feel safe — not kids who fear disappointing you. If you’re tired of snapping and spiraling… If you want connection instead of control… If you feel like you’re healing and parenting at the same time… This episode is for you. Stop Waiting On God: Faith, Purpose & Aligned Action: Patrice Washington

What if the life you’re praying for is waiting on you to move first? In this deeply honest and electric conversation, I sit down with transformational speaker, author, and founder of Redefining Wealth, Patrice Washington. We explore the intersection of faith and action, purpose and performance, conviction and sovereignty. Patrice shares how she built her life through belief and aligned action — from losing a seven-figure business to rebuilding with clarity and calling. We talk about why chasing purpose is not a luxury, how faith becomes a crutch when we refuse to move, and what it truly means to “give God something to bless.” This episode is for the woman who: Knows there is more for her but feels stuck in obligation Believes in God but struggles to trust herself Is tired of outsourcing her power Feels intimidated by her own bigness Wants to break generational patterns and lead differently Inside this conversation, we explore: The difference between belief and the performance of belief Why purpose isn’t optional — it’s your design How intimidation often mirrors unclaimed potential Why “lucky” is an insult Goals vs. vision (and why confusing them keeps you stuck) Faith + aligned action as co-creation Breaking generational trauma through intentional living Letting go of obligation and choosing sovereignty This is about becoming the woman who can hold the vision — not just reach it. From Survival Mode To Safe Love: Leah Mitchell

In this episode of Minding Mine, I sit down with love and relationship coach Leah Mitchell for a deeply honest conversation about trauma, shame, safety, and the invisible patterns so many women carry into their relationships. Leah opens up about the accident that changed her life at seventeen, the secondary trauma that followed, and how years of trying to earn love shaped her dating choices, her self-worth, and her nervous system. We talk about the ways childhood conditioning shows up in adulthood, why shame becomes a survival response, and how experiences we are never taught to process can turn into patterns we don’t even recognize as our own. Leah also shares the turning point in her healing journey—how neuroscience, emotional regulation, and kinetic divination helped her reconnect to her own body, break destructive cycles, and finally feel safe enough to pursue healthy love. We explore how trauma impacts dating, why women often feel they must “earn” affection, how cortisol and stress affect romantic compatibility, and what it looks like to build relationships rooted in honesty, vulnerability, and mutual respect. This conversation is full of raw truths, powerful reframes, and reminders that loving yourself well is the foundation for calling in the love you truly desire. Whether you’re single, dating, or partnered, Leah’s insights will help you understand yourself more deeply—and begin healing the patterns that have kept you feeling stuck, small, or at war with your own heart. In this episode, we talk about: • The accident that reshaped Leah’s identity, patterns, and sense of safety • Why “secondary trauma” from loved ones can feel more painful than the trauma itself • How shame becomes a subconscious survival strategy • Using neuroscience and somatic tools to rewire relationship patterns • Why many women feel they need to “earn” love • How cortisol impacts compatibility, chemistry, and connection • What safe, emotionally available love actually feels like • How our healing impacts the next generation • The legacy we leave when our children watch us be loved—and love ourselves Connect with Leah Podcast: The Goddess of Love Free Course: The Dating Strategy Socials: https://www.instagram.com/goddessofloveofficial https://www.facebook.com/leah.mitchell.3914/  Connect with Evelyn:  Facebook: Evelyn LeVasseur Instagram: @itsevelynlevasseur YouTube: Minding Mine   Free Guide: What Your Exhaustion Is Really Trying To Tell You Apply To Work With Me: Here

Breaking Generational Patterns: Healing Trauma, Identity, and Self-Worth - Gulara Vincent

In this episode of Minding Mine, I sat with healer, author, and former university law lecturer Gulara Vincent for a transformative conversation about healing, identity, and the stories that shape us long before we take our first breath. Gulara explains the science behind how our DNA can hold up to seven generations of emotional experiences — fear, trauma, resilience, strength — and how these inherited imprints influence the way we see ourselves, interact with others, and move through the world. Together, we explore the deep roots of generational patterns, the power of conscious healing, and the freedom that emerges when we choose a different way forward. In this episode: How family histories of war, loss, and migration can echo through multiple generations. What distinguishes a cycle breaker from someone who unconsciously repeats family patterns. Why personal healing often becomes a quiet revolution inside your home and your relationships. How healing is less about fixing and more about coming home to the parts of yourself you once hid or rejected. The hidden reasons behind self-sabotage and why these patterns often form to protect us. The powerful imprints created in the womb and how early experiences shape feelings of worthiness or belonging. How unresolved ancestral patterns can affect money, relationships, identity, and self-trust. The importance of emotional release and learning to feel deeply without judgment. The Truth About Happy Marriage: Michelle Purta

In this episode, I sit down with marriage coach Michelle Purta for an honest, layered conversation about what it really takes to build a healthy relationship. So many of us grew up believing that love was something you feel... that if you just found “the one,” everything else would fall into place. But as Michelle shares, lasting love isn’t luck or magic. It’s built on emotional maturity, communication, and the willingness to take accountability for our own part in the relationship. We explore what it means to be the “common denominator” in your relationship patterns and how to move from blame and resentment toward self-reflection and change. Michelle also breaks down the myth that happiness in marriage means being happy all the time and explains why learning to know—and love—yourself is the foundation for intimacy, connection, and better communication. Together, we talk about: Why healthy marriages aren’t just for the lucky ones The difference between taking accountability and blaming yourself How to show up as the partner you want to be (without losing yourself) Why fear of the unknown keeps so many women stuck in unfulfilling relationships How honesty with yourself creates emotional and physical intimacy The power of sharing your self-discovery journey with your partner Practical ways to rebuild connection, communication, and desire This episode is a reminder that love is not a feeling you chase—it’s a daily choice, a practice, and a reflection of how deeply you know and honor yourself. You Were Safe, But Were You Really? Understanding Physical vs Emotional Safety | Evelyn LeVasseur

In this personal and honest episode of Minding Mind, Evelyn dives into a topic we often overlook: the difference between physical safety and emotional safety—and how a lack of the latter shapes our relationships, our self-trust, and our legacy. Many of us grew up in homes where the bills were paid, the doors were locked, and our needs were met… but we still didn’t feel safe being our full selves. Evelyn explores how emotional safety gets compromised, the subtle ways it shows up in adulthood, and why reclaiming it is foundational to healing, wholeness, and generational change. This isn’t just about personal growth—it’s about breaking cycles and building something better for ourselves and the generations after us. In This Episode: What physical safety is (and how your nervous system protects you) Why emotional safety is harder to recognize—but just as crucial Signs you’re navigating emotional unsafety (even if you don’t realize it) How people-pleasing, self-abandonment, and overfunctioning are rooted in emotional neglect The role emotional safety plays in self-trust, boundaries, intimacy, and leadership Why creating emotionally safe spaces—especially for your children—is legacy work Key Quote: “We are healing from things we were never allowed to admit actually hurt us. In celebration of my birthday, I’m sharing 5 powerful things I’ve decided I will never do again — and why each one is a line in the sand for the woman I’m becoming. These aren’t just mindset shifts — they’re soul declarations. They’re about boundaries, breaking cycles, and choosing self-respect over self-sacrifice. We’ll talk about: Why I’ll never water myself down to be more “likable” How I’m honoring my yes and protecting my no The deep cost of staying in rooms where I’m only tolerated Why I refuse to keep being mean to myself — even in passing How legacy shifts when we stop doing things just because that’s “how it’s always been” This is for the woman who feels the pull to rise. To lead herself. To stop betraying the version of her who is done pretending everything is fine. 🎉 Your birthday invitation: Make your own list. Draw your own line. And if you’re ready to come home to the woman underneath the performance… The Worthy Woman Experience is waiting. https://www.evelynlevasseur.com/worthy-woman

Dieting, Deprivation And Disconnect: Cera Byer

In this week’s episode, we dive deep into the powerful topics of dieting, deprivation, and the disconnection so many of us feel from our bodies and true desires. I had the incredible opportunity to sit down with Cera Byer — a certified life coach, business coach, dancer, embodiment coach, and movement expert — to explore how we can break free from harmful cycles and live in alignment with our most authentic selves. Cera is the CEO of Intuitive Edge Coaching & Intuitive Edge Creative, based in Los Angeles, California. She’s passionate about helping artists, creatives, and spiritual practitioners move past the blocks that keep them “in their own way” so they can bring their life-changing work out into the world. Cera believes that creative, talented people don’t need a backup plan or a day job — despite what society has told us. By creating security and stability on our own terms, we can shift wealth into the hands of healers, helpers, and artists, reshaping society and healing the world in the process. In this episode, we discuss: The damaging impact of dieting and deprivation on our minds and bodies How disconnection from ourselves keeps us from our true potential The importance of embodiment and movement in healing and self-expression Cera’s journey from creative to coach and how she helps others step into their power Why building stability as a creative or healer is not just possible — it’s essential If you’re ready to ditch deprivation and start living from a place of alignment, authenticity, and abundance, this episode is for you.     Contact Cera:  Email: [email protected] IG: @intuitiveedgecoaching Follow Evelyn: Facebook: Evelyn LeVasseur Instagram: @itsevelynlevasseur YouTube: Minding Mine    Apply To Work With Me: Here

Healing Yourself To Build A Stronger Partnership: David Lea

This week’s episode is a powerful and deeply important conversation about healing yourself so you can show up in your relationship from a place of wholeness. I sat down with David to explore how our unhealed wounds impact our partnerships and why self-healing is essential for building a thriving, connected relationship. We often think of marriage and long-term relationships as a balance of give and take — but can two unhealed people truly be good partners? It’s a question worth asking, and David brings incredible insight into the answer. One of the most transformative ideas David shares is that in order to heal your trauma, you must first learn to love your trauma. By embracing and understanding your pain, you create space for real emotional healing and growth — not just for yourself but for your relationship as well. About David: David, alongside his wife Paige, helps men, women, and couples find deep freedom, healing, and transformation from past emotional pain and trauma. With over 30 years of experience in relationships, wellness, and communication, David empowers his clients to break negative patterns, find emotional wholeness, and create extraordinary, life-changing relationships. In this episode, we discuss: Why self-healing is crucial for healthy, lasting relationships How unhealed trauma shows up in your partnership The importance of learning to love and understand your pain Practical steps to break negative patterns and foster real emotional intimacy David’s expert approach to creating deep freedom and transformation If you’re ready to build a more connected, fulfilling partnership by first healing yourself, this episode is a must-listen. ABOUT THIS SHOW
