Your Success Is Another Woman's Permission Slip

In this episode, I share a powerful reality check I received from a woman at the gym: “Don’t downplay what you’re doing.” What started as an offhand comment about my upcoming triathlon made me realize how quickly I had minimized something I had worked incredibly hard to accomplish.I dive into why we as women so often downplay our achievements, compare ourselves to people who are further ahead, and convince ourselves that what we've accomplished “isn't that big of a deal.” I also share how my own athlete community has taught me the importance of celebrating wins, taking up space, and allowing yourself to be seen, even when it feels uncomfortable. You never truly know who is watching you and being inspired by what you've already accomplished. Your progress, your confidence, your willingness to try something new, and even the things you think are “normal” about yourself may be exactly what someone else needs to see to believe that they can do it too. This episode is a reminder to stop shrinking your accomplishments, stop comparing your journey to someone else's, and start letting yourself be proud of what you've built. Because celebrating yourself doesn't take anything away from anyone else...it might actually give another woman permission to believe in herself, too.If this episode resonated with you, take a screenshot, share it on Instagram, and tag me @kolbyannon so I can connect with you! Want to get faster, leaner, stronger and race ready? The Embodied Athlete Experience is 1-1 high touch virtual body recomp and performance coaching program for the former athlete and woman in her 30's who wants to look, feel and perform like an athlete again after babies, injury and life.If that's you AND you have big fitness goals or want to get back into racing and competing, but are tired of trying to piece together your own plan and are ready to learn how to properly fuel and train for muscle growth, fat loss, speed, strength and performance - without the extremes - then you're in the right place. How To Get Lean Eating More

What if the reason you’re struggling to get lean isn’t because you need to eat less...what if it's because you’ve been dieting for too long?In this episode, I’m breaking down why your metabolism is an adaptation machine and why constantly chasing fat loss can leave you eating less and less just to maintain the same results. I’m sharing how to “build your calorie bank,” why spending more time eating to BUILD can actually help you get leaner long-term, and why a smaller, more strategic deficit is often all you need once your foundation is dialed in.You don’t need to starve yourself to see muscle definition. You need a bigger runway. If this episode resonated with you, take a screenshot, share it on Instagram, and tag me @kolbyannon so I can connect with you! 40lbs Down, Back to Running Postpartum & Post Hip Surgery In Just 6 Months - My Client Megan's Incredible Journey To Becoming An Athlete Again

Six months ago, Megan came to me feeling disconnected from the athlete she used to be.She was postpartum, had a history of hip surgery, had gained weight, and was struggling to create consistency on her own. Despite being a lifelong runner who had completed multiple half marathons and marathons in the past, she hadn't run consistently in years and no longer felt confident in her body. Her original goal was simple: lose 20 pounds and run a 5K.Six months later, she's down nearly 40 pounds, from 223 to 184.9, while eating well over 2,000 calories per day. She's stronger, faster, more confident, running more than six miles at a time, and now training for her first 10K with her sights set on a half marathon next year. But this episode isn't just about Megan's weight loss.In this episode, I'm breaking down exactly how we approached her transformation from rebuilding her strength and gradually returning to running, to fueling her body without extreme restriction, navigating her history of hip pain, and continuously adjusting her plan based on what her body needed.Because Megan's transformation wasn't the result of a perfect workout plan or eating as little as possible. It was the result of an individualized approach that helped her lose body fat, build strength, improve her performance, and most importantly...start feeling like herself again. In this episode, you'll learn:How Megan lost nearly 40 pounds while eating 2,000+ caloriesWhy we didn't prioritize weight loss at the expense of her performanceHow we took her from barely running to completing a 5K and training for a 10KHow strength training supported her return to running after hip surgeryWhat we did when her body needed adjustments along the wayWhy individualized coaching is about adapting the plan - not always forcing someone to follow itThe difference between simply losing weight and actually transforming how you feel in your bodyWhy becoming an athlete again can be one of the most powerful parts of a body transformationIf you've ever felt like you used to be athletic, strong, confident, or comfortable in your body and somewhere along the way you lost that version of yourself, Megan's story is proof that it's not too late to find her again. If this episode resonated with you, take a screenshot, share it on Instagram, and tag me @kolbyannon so I can connect with you! “Eating Healthy” Is NOT A Fat Loss Strategy

If you've ever said, "But I eat healthy, drink my water, work out, and still can't lose weight..." this episode is for you.Today, I'm breaking down one of the biggest misconceptions in fat loss: why "eating healthy" isn't actually a fat-loss strategy. I'll explain the difference between building healthy habits and having a nutrition plan that's designed to change your body composition, why macros and calories matter more than most people realize, and why so many women think they need to "tone up" when what they really need is a structured fat-loss phase.I even walk you step by step through the exact 4-phased system I take my clients through to lose 20-50 lbs+ and the one key piece that ensures they are able to keep it off forever. If you've been putting in the effort but aren't seeing the definition or fat loss you want, this episode will help you understand what's actually missing and how to stop spinning your wheels. If this episode resonated with you, take a screenshot, share it on Instagram, and tag me @kolbyannon so I can connect with you! Why You're Working Out (A Lot) But Don’t Look Like It

If you've been working out consistently for years but your body still looks the same, this episode is for you.Today I'm breaking down the biggest mistake I see women in their 30s make: confusing working out with training. While they might seem like the same thing, they produce very different results. In this episode, I'll explain why random workouts lead to random results, what it actually means to train with intention, and the simple mindset shift that can completely change your physique, performance, and confidence. If your goal is to build muscle, lose body fat, run your first race, or simply look like you lift, this conversation will help you stop spinning your wheels and start making real progress. If this episode resonated with you, take a screenshot, share it on Instagram, and tag me @kolbyannon so I can connect with you! In this episode, I'm share the behind the scenes and lessons I'm learning from the first 6 weeks of training for my upcoming sprint triathlon. Why Intuitive Eating Is A Terrible Approach For Athletes

Everyone loves to say, "Just listen to your body."But what if your body has spent years being influenced by diet culture, food rules, chronic dieting, and under-fueling?If your goal is to lose body fat, build lean muscle, improve your performance, or become a stronger, more athletic version of yourself, intuitive eating alone probably isn't enough. In this episode, I'm breaking down why body recomposition requires more than good intentions...it requires education, awareness, and strategy. We cover why most women have never actually learned how to fuel their bodies, why tracking your nutrition can be an empowering tool (not a life sentence), and why so many women are unknowingly under-fueling their aesthetic and performance goals. If you're tired of spinning your wheels despite "eating healthy," this episode will change the way you think about nutrition forever. If this episode resonated with you, take a screenshot, share it on Instagram, and tag me @kolbyannon so I can connect with you! How To Build Muscle While Hyrox / Hybrid Training

For years, women have been told that if they start running more, training for a race, or focusing on endurance, they'll inevitably lose muscle and sacrifice their physique...But is that actually true?In this episode, I'm breaking down my personal 12-week results, where I gained 2.5 pounds of muscle and reduced my body fat by nearly 3% while increasing my endurance training while training for my first Hyrox.I'll share the biggest mistakes I see women making when trying to balance strength, aesthetics, and performance, as well as the four key strategies that helped me build muscle without giving up my endurance goals.Whether you're training for a 5K, half marathon, Hyrox, triathlon, or simply want to become a stronger, more athletic version of yourself, this episode will help you understand how to fuel, train, and recover in a way that supports both performance and body composition. In this episode, you'll learn:• Why running more and Hyrox training doesn't automatically cause muscle loss• The most common mistakes women make when trying to build muscle and improve performance• The four strategies that helped me gain muscle and lose body fat while training for my first Hyrox• How to balance strength training, recovery, and nutrition for body recomposition• Why you don't have to choose between being lean, strong, and athleticIf this episode resonated with you, take a screenshot, share it on Instagram, and tag me @kolbyannon so I can connect with you! The Truth About Your Performance During Your Period

Have you ever felt like you finally found your groove with training like your workouts feel good, your energy is high, you’re hitting PRs and then your period shows up and suddenly the momentum you were building comes comes to a screeching halt?In this episode, I’m sharing a very real and honest conversation about something I’ve been navigating myself as I’ve stepped more fully into my identity as an athlete. As I’ve taken my training more seriously through running, swimming, Hyrox, and endurance-based goals, I’ve noticed how challenging it can be when my body asks me to slow down during certain phases of my cycle. For a long time, I viewed those lower-energy days as an interruption to my progress. But recently, I’ve been exploring a different perspective: What if my cycle isn’t getting in the way of my training? What if it’s actually part of it?In this episode, we’re talking about: • The frustration many active women feel around their cycle and performance • Why “pushing through” isn’t always the answer • The mindset shift that’s helping me stop fighting my body • What athletic maturity really looks like • How to trust that you’re not losing progress when you need more rest • The difference between training harder and training smarterIf you’ve ever felt discouraged by your changing energy levels throughout the month, this conversation is for you.Because becoming an embodied athlete isn’t about performing at your peak every single day…it’s about learning to work with your body, not against it.If this episode resonated with you, take a screenshot, share it on Instagram, and tag me @kolbyannon so I can connect with you!
