The Readings
by Andrew Iver
The Bible read aloud, one chapter at a time, in a fresh translation made directly from the Hebrew — and from the Greek where a book survives in Greek — translated by Andrew Iver and read by Deanna. Four chapters a day, Genesis to Revelation, the deuterocanon included, in plain modern English with no commentary. Where the Hebrew uses God's personal name you will hear "Adonai"; Elohim is kept as Elohim, a Hebrew word that can mean God or gods, with the context making the distinction — and genuinely contested renderings are explained in brief translator's notes in the episode notes.
