“IT WAS DESIGNED TO OFFEND SHOOTERS”: Victorian State Budget leaves shooters left high and dry
THE VICTORIAN GOVERNMENT’S recent State Budget told us how much value it places on the shooting sports. Despite iron-clad promises to build world-class shooting facilities after abandoning the 2026 Commonwealth Games, Victoria's shooters received zero funding while other sports flourished. The numbers tell a shocking story. Geelong BMX Club secured $200,000 for 120 members (that's $1,600 per member). Cycling received $12 million, and bike lanes got $7.4 million – for a lot of paint! Meanwhile, the shooting sports didn’t get anything. Not even enough for a car park. This is particularly embarrassing when Brisbane and Sydney boast international-level shooting complexes - yet Victoria, Australia's second-most populous state, continues to lack basic shooting infrastructure. With a $108 billion budget, allocating just 0.1% to support the shooting sports would turn this around. Importantly, it would allow the state to attract major international events, with proven economic benefits. This means the government doesn’t have a revenue problem; it has an expenditure problem. This has been exacerbated by a state government cabinet dominated by the socialist left-wing of the Labor Party which wants to crush the shooting sports. TAKE ACTION: Let Victoria’s State Premier, Jacinta Allan, know that this isn’t good enough. Email her at [email protected] and demand that we have proper shooting infrastructure for Victoria. Finally, can you please help us? We need to be able to send this content to more and more shooters – so make sure you’re on our email list & get your mates to do the same as well! NO IDEA ABOUT GUNS: Labor’s dangerously uninformed approach
IN THIS EPISODE, we sit down with Danny Ryan, President of Sporting Clays Victoria, to discuss why politicians remain dangerously uninformed about firearms and the shooting community. This always leads to uninformed policy and bad laws – such as those that came out of the Bondi tragedy. We look at the appalling knowledge gap among politicians who make decisions affecting our sport. From professional politicians who never set foot on a range and have "overinflated views of their own knowledge" to bureaucrats, our current relationship with the government can only be described as hostile. Danny and Neil discuss the urgent need for shooting organisations to unite, the challenges of cutting through anti-gun misinformation from groups like Gun Safety Alliance, and why every shooter must personally contact their MP. THE RECENT STATE BUDGET also comes in for a serve, with the government failing to provide any support for shooters. It stole millions from shooters over the 2026 Commonwealth Games shooting facilities fiasco, which is why we’re going to be providing a dedicated episode on that this coming week. That's because Victoria is now in the grip of a socialist left-wing Labor government that makes no apology for its outrageous raid on support for the shooting sports. PLUS, we’ve got an important update on our NCAT legal action coming up this week. SHOOTING RANGES: Victoria Labor's Golden Opportunity to Deliver
VICTORIA HAS FALLEN well behind the rest of Australia, lacking even a single shooting facility capable of hosting international-level events. With the Victorian state budget imminent and the November state election looming, now is the time for our major parties to see and capitalise on the political and economic opportunities this presents. WE SPEAK WITH Danny Ryan, President of Sporting Clays Victoria, for a hard-hitting discussion about what's at stake for the state's 250,000 licensed shooters. After the embarrassing cancellation of the 2026 Commonwealth Games, the Victorian government broke its promise to deliver legacy shooting infrastructure—leaving clubs struggling with outdated, volunteer-run facilities, while Brisbane prepares world-class venues for the 2032 Olympics. Danny reveals the shocking disparity in government funding, the economic case for investment (with shooting worth billions to Victoria's economy), and how the pending firearms review by Ken Lay could require infrastructure that doesn't exist. With potential changes to firearm laws requiring compulsory training and range attendance, the infrastructure crisis becomes even more urgent. The message is clear: Contact your local MP now. Take 20 minutes—visit their office, make the call. This is your sport, your future. Finally, can you please help us? GUN IMPORTATION CHAOS: What our new federal laws mean for shooters
WE INTERVIEW BASTIAN GREEN from Australian Sporting Agencies, who discusses the devastating impact of new federal importation laws on Australia's firearms industry. Without consulting industry stakeholders, the federal government implemented sweeping restrictions following the Bondi incident, effectively throttling the supply chain and threatening the viability of the industry underpinning what we do. Green reveals how importers face revenue losses as orders of suddenly non-compliant firearms become stranded overseas and unfulfillable contracts. Shooters will see price increases of up to $500 per firearm due to bureaucratic double-handling and permit delays of 6-8 weeks. Dealers are caught in limbo — and shooters are bound to feel the full impact of regulatory chaos. We also look at how the federal buyback needs to be conducted if it is to fairly compensate businesses and individuals for these forced losses—which is going to easily top at least $3 billion, while achieving …. nothing. THERE ARE THINGS we can do to reverse this. Getting involved in elections is the best way. We'll cover this in an episode soon . AIMING FOR RE-ELECTION: Why the AJP’s anti-hunting Georgie Purcell could jump ship to Labor
THE ANIMAL JUSTICE PARTY'S grubby preference deals at the 2022 Victorian state election resulted in the election of their lead candidate, Georgie Purcell, which was an outcome bound to alienate the party at this year’s election. Her election saw the creation of a parliamentary committee that recommended banning duck hunting, which only failed because of the intervention of the Premier’s office. It also saw the scrapping of plans to build major new infrastructure for the shooting sports, which was a major blow to Victorian shooters. Purcell is now shacked up with Labor MP Josh Burns, raising questions about whether she might be looking to continue her parliamentary career on the Labor ticket at this year’s Victorian State Election. Don't forget, Georgie also used to work for the United Workers Union - which has strong links to Labor. Georgie has openly stated she "will not stop until duck shooting is banned," making her intentions clear. Burns has form on firearms too. His response to firearm policy concerns in Albo’s recent change to federal gun laws (mostly at the border), turned out to be a seemingly AI-generated (or partly generated) reply that failed to satisfy us that Burns has taken the concerns of shooters seriously. In fact, Josh is the co-chair of Parliamentary Friends of Firearm Safety, which has links to the Alannah and Madeline Foundation – and which has nothing to do with firearm safety, but rather lobbying on firearm laws. With November's Victorian election approaching, every shooter needs to understand what's at stake and how to protect their sport. Not only is it important to vote for the right party, but you need to direct your own preferences away from parties like the AJP. We’ll show you how to do that as the election approaches later this year. Finally, can you please help us? We need to be able to send this content to more and more shooters – so make sure you’re on our email list & get your mates to do the same as well! SA ELECTION RESULTS: What they mean for shooters nationwide. Plus more on NCAT.
THE RECENT SOUTH AUSTRALIAN ELECTION has sent shockwaves through Australia's political landscape, and shooters need to pay attention. We break down the stunning results – with Labor securing 34 seats while the Liberals collapsed to just 5 with One Nation mopping up 4 seats in the lower house, and 3 in the upper house. This isn't just about South Australia. With Victoria's state election just six months away in November, the stakes have never been higher for the state's 250,000 licensed shooters – and the NSW State Election coming up in the rearview mirror just after. The discussion reveals why Victorian Premier, Jacinta Allan, may be the only thing holding back anti-gun Labor MPs from further attacking what we do, and how fragile that protection is. Meanwhile, NSW Labor's refusal to consult with any shooting organisations is bound to haunt them. They forgot the number 1 rule of gun politics – demonstrated by the NSW Labor Unsworth Government in 1988 - which is that bringing in more gun laws is a GUARANTEED VOTE LOSER. The result – and the “sh*tstorm NSW Labor has created” - also exposes the slow but observable collapse of the National Firearms Agreement, with each state now pursuing wildly different approaches. From Queensland's stable pro-shooting stance to Western Australia's draconian laws, the landscape has never been more divided. Labor governments across Australia don’t seem to have worked that out yet. We also take a deeper look at the ongoing Freedom of Information campaign targeting the secretive Firearms and Weapons Policy Working Group where bureaucrats craft anti-gun policies behind closed doors. The NSW Information and Privacy Commissioner backed our arguments and recommended NSW Police make a new decision – but they gave that idea the middle finger – which is why we appealed to NCAT. If we’re successful, we’re anticipating NSW Police will appeal to the Supreme Court - making this a high-stakes transparency battle that could lift the lid on WHAT EVERY FIREARMS REGISTRY is thinking! The legal action is funded by shooter donations through GoFundMe and PayPal, with generous support from shooters around Australia. WINNING THE SHOOTERS’ VOTE: What our political parties can do to win an election winning lead.
WE LOOK AT what the One Nation result in South Australia means for Victoria's upcoming state election. We explain how all political parties—Labor, Liberal, and One Nation—can improve their pitch for the shooter's vote. That's over 250,000 votes there for the taking. The surge in One Nation's vote in South Australia isn't a one-off. It's a significant indicator of what we might see in Victoria, and it shows what conservative voters think the Liberal Party has gone too soft. One Nation secured nearly a quarter of the primary vote, mostly from the Liberals, and this funding boost will help them bankroll an even bigger campaign in Victoria. I outline three critical areas that parties need to understand if they want to win shooter support. They are to support hunting as an economic activity, commit to building world-class shooting infrastructure to position Victoria as a sporting centre, and CHANGE THE NARRATIVE whenever it comes public discussions over firearms policy. These are three easy to implement changes, all of which can be justified under the state’s cost-benefits framework. None of these require the parties to touch our gun laws – but will pave the way for those discussions to be had later on. It’s an easy election position to take that will create a massive boost for the parties in their race to win the shooters’ vote without drawing fire from our opponents. “LANDMARK PRO-GUN LEGAL ACTION”: We launch the first legal action over firearms policy discussions
WE’VE JUST LAUNCHED the first ever legal action to expose what Australia's firearm registries have been secretly planning behind closed doors at the National Firearms and Weapons Policy Working Group. We filed our case with NCAT after the NSW Information and Privacy Commissioner found that NSW Police had no legitimate grounds to refuse us access to these documents under GIPA laws. Despite the IPC's damning report recommending they release the information, NSW Police gave us—and every licensed firearm owner in Australia—the middle finger. Now we're taking them to tribunal. Our first hearing is scheduled for May 7th at 12:30pm, and we're expecting a tough fight. This isn't just about NSW—if we win, we'll expose what all state and territory registries are planning for us: new restrictions, increased costs, reduced appeal rights, and more red tape. We need your support to afford specialist legal representation. Every dollar counts, whether it's $5 or $500. Check out our GoFundMe or PayPal links below. This affects every licensed firearm owner in Australia. Subscribe and share to stay updated on every development. GUN LIMITS: Tasmanian police commissioner’s push for WA type rules
WE LOOK AT the Tasmania's New Firearms Consultative Committee, which includes a number of anti-shooting groups who have nothing to contribute to firearms policy. We also look at how Tasmania's Police Commissioner, Donna Adams, recently used the media to push her view that there should be gun limits imposed on shooters in Tasmania. She based this on the death of a constable – at the hands of an offender who was not licensed, held firearms that were not registered, and was caught in possession of other prohibited items. The commissioner’s statements raise serious questions about whether she is fit to stay in the job. Police Minister, Felix Ellis, needs to pull her aside and remind her of who sets government policy – and that she should either resign, or fall into line. -------------------------------------------------------------- GET EARLY RELEASE EPISODES! 'GRANDMA, YOU'RE GOING TO JAIL': The 9 minute TV segment that was illegal to watch
CHANNEL 96 is one of our favourite channels – but even it may have fallen foul of Albo’s new gun laws. The program "How It's Made" recently featured the restoration of an 1886 lever action rifle— covering the making of a stock, engraving of the stock, restoration of the trigger and lever, barrel bluing and engraving of the receiver. The problem is Albo’s new gun laws make this illegal – meaning that both Channel 9 and anyone who watched the program may have broken the law – and risk (at least theoretically) being put away for up to 5 years. We break down how this law works and why it captures innocent viewers. It’s part of the stupidity we saw come out of Federal Labor – and publicly supported by several of its MPs. FOI WIN: We take you through the review that sets us up to take legal action against NSW Police
WE UPDATE YOU on our ongoing Freedom of Information request against New South Wales Police to lift the lid on discussions between the states on what other gun laws they are contemplating. On February 27, 2025, I submitted a request under the New South Wales equivalent to Freedom of Information laws to obtain vital meeting minutes on meetings held with other registries, which they refused to release arguing doing so would compromise public interest. However, our appeal to the Information and Privacy Commission has rejected the NSW Police claims and recommended they (NSW Police) come up with a new decision, mindful of the reasons for the rejection. Join us as we delve deeper into this pivotal issue and discuss what this means for firearm owners in Australia. Finally, can you please help us? BECOMING THE PRO-SHOOTING FORCE SHOOTERS NEED: Plus, we hear crickets from Texas
IN THIS EPISODE, we look at Kate’s escape to the United States nearly a year ago, without ever starting the legal battle on WA gun laws she promised or explaining where the money has gone. We also look at why Australian shooters desperately need effective political representation —and why so many past attempts have failed. I break down the three main reasons: inexperience, greed, and ego. We've seen well-meaning people enter politics without the necessary background to navigate the system effectively. They get used up by major parties with decades more experience. Real political effectiveness requires 20+ years working in major parties or at the ministerial coalface – but who has that? Sadly, we've seen shooters’ elected representatives cut deals with major parties to keep their taxpayer-funded salaries, giving us duck hunting inquiries and stacked consultative committees in return. In Victoria, a deal even blocked the development of a major ISSF shooting facility. Finally, ego has destroyed effective lobbying efforts, with the most significant one being the collapse of the National Shooting Council in early 2023. That's why we started Politics Reloaded. With thanks to Sean Frazer, we’ve grown Gun News Australia into Australia's only regular pro-shooting political podcast - with over half a million views so far. We also look at a recent FOI victory against NSW Police as proof of what we can done when you have the right people doing the work. Finally, can you please help us? SA STATE ELECTION & FIREARMS: Liberal Party’s pro-shooting statement
WE SPEAK WITH Nicola Centofanti MLC, the Leader of the Opposition in South Australia’s Upper House, as the state approaches a pivotal election on March 21st. The discussion covers the significant concerns surrounding firearm legislation, particularly in light of recent changes to gun laws in Western Australia and New South Wales and federally – and even SA Labor’s decision to ban bow hunting and try to ban duck hunting by stealth by jacking up hunting fees by 400% Nicola shares her insights on the importance of firearms ownership for regional communities, highlighting her personal experiences with firearms through her work as a veterinarian and her upbringing in rural South Australia. The conversation also delves into the Liberal Party's stance on gun laws, emphasizing their commitment to protecting the rights of shooters – and reversing Labor’s hunting tax. Nicola outlines her party’s plans to ensure that South Australians have a clear choice and voice regarding firearm policies and the future of recreational hunting. Plus, we look at One Nation’s updated firearms policy which has only just been released. We’ll be working through that in the next few days and letting you know what we think – but first impression is that it looks remarkably similar to the Liberal Party statement! Meanwhile, Labor is staying quiet and is non-committal to anything beyond the election. Finally, can you please help us? “WHY DO YOU NEED MORE THAN 10 ROUNDS?”: The question that should not have been asked
IN THIS EPISODE, we dive into the shocking thought-bubble emerging from Victoria's Firearms Legislation Review—a limit of just 10 rounds per shooter. It was a simple query, but one which points to a much, much deeper problem affecting every licensed shooter. Australian shooters are facing an unprecedented wave of new restrictions across multiple states, from gun limits in NSW to Western Australia's draconian safe storage requirements. With elections looming in South Australia (March 21) and Victoria (November 28), both Labor governments are treading carefully, but the future of what they will do beyond those elections remains uncertain. Former Police Commissioner Ken Lay is leading Victoria's firearms review, but serious concerns have emerged about the expertise that the review team has. During the consultation, the team asked if there should be a limit of ten rounds per shooter. We appreciate that consultation is necessary to fill knowledge gaps, that should only ever be necessary for dealing with minor areas of detail. Instead, this was a question of major importance that was not helpful to have asked. It points to the more fundamental problem facing firearms policy management in Australia. That is because firearms policy advice is often developed by people who do not have the necessary subject matter expertise and industry only gets involved after the initial line of questioning has been developed. We raise this problem in the hope that those responsible for the review get to see why this is the case and instead recommend a significant improvement to the way firearms policy is developed that is based on industry advice – rather than from within government - because it does not address the key problems we face. In other words, we need an entirely new engagement model. NO GOVERNMENT would take that approach for medicine, aviation, road management, bridge design, or other important areas of public policy - so why is it different for firearms? This is why shooters get wound up every time they hear government come up with new policy ideas that do not involve the shooting sector. Finally, can you please help us? GUN LICENCES EXPLODE: The recent attacks on shooters may have backfired – big time!
IN THIS EPISODE, we examine the unintended consequences of knee-jerk politics by Premier Chris Minns and PM Anthony Albanese's after bringing in new gun firearm legislation. Statistics are now showing firearm licence and permit applications have skyrocketed – in a move that we saw coming, as shooters make sure that family members get licenced to avoid having to surrender firearms. The stats show a welcome trend that is likely to continue well into this year, in a move that we are sure will only toughen the resolve of shooters to stand up against bad policy, and bad government. As one NSW Upper House MP said, Minns’s plan has "completely backfired". Stay tuned for our upcoming episode with some major (and unwelcome) news on Victoria's Firearms Act review! “REMEMBER THIS IN 13 MONTHS TIME”: Phil Donato's blunt message to NSW shooters
WE SPEAK WITH Phil Donato MP, Independent Member for Orange, to run through NSW's rushed firearms legislation following the December 14 tragedy. Phil reveals the shocking lack of consultation on the laws with MPs, being briefed just hours before Parliament was recalled before Christmas. We discuss the devastating impacts on law-abiding firearms owners: arbitrary caps of 4 firearms for hunters, 10 for farmers and target shooters, removal of independent NCAT oversight, and the insulting bundling of firearms laws with terrorism legislation. Phil received thousands of emails, calls and visits from outraged constituents who've done everything right their entire lives, but are now treated like criminals-in-waiting. This is the biggest threat to Australian firearms owners since 1996. The NSW Government struck while emotions ran hot, implementing policy by media without proper consultation. Phil warns this was a purely political strategy— without any consultation, or consideration of unintended consequences. Our message to NSW shooters is clear: remember this in 13 months at the next state election. Tell your family, friends, and networks about how unfair these laws have been on not only shooters, but the broader community. WE ALSO LOOK AT how the Liberal Party’s decision to back the new laws will end up costing it just as dearly as it will cost Labor – and leaving the door open for One Nation to target both. Finally, can you please help us? We need to be able to send this content to more and more shooters – so make sure you’re on our email list & get your mates to do the same as well! ONE NATION: Why the major parties are on the nose with shooters
It's no wonder One Nation is doing well in the polls. In our case, it's because Labor has gone after shooters in WA, NSW and federally, while the Liberal Party hasn't been the opposition party it once was.

OZ GUN HISTORY: Here’s a must-see video on the history of guns in Australia
WE INTERVIEW Malcolm Drinkwater from the History Hill Museum about a DVD set he produced titled "The Long and the Short of Firearms". This is a two part series covering nearly 3.5-hour series of our local firearms history from gunpowder basics through to modern developments. We’re covering it because it’s so good. We’re doing this because we were so impressed with the quality and relevance to the use of firearms at home. We are receiving nothing for this – because that’s not what we’re in this for. Nor were we asked to do this. We’re doing this because we were genuinely impressed by what we saw. While many of us know the broad history of firearms, much of it is learned from overseas resources. However, Malcolm brings it home by examining the impact of firearms, especially through the gold rush era, to modern day. He covers the use of firearms in the bush, specialised saddle designs for light infantry, and how metal was forged. The series dives into the development of the rifle range at Hill End in New South Wales, shows how target shooting sports grew, and documents how successive governments have worked to dismantle them over the years. He covers the evolution of muskets, flintlocks, lever actions, bolt-action rifles, cartridge evolution, and black powder, all with stunning production quality. Malcolm’s knowledge of Aussie history is genuinely impressive and makes the material come alive. This is perfect for shooters – so if your other half needs a birthday hint, then here’s a great idea. It’s also great for parents of teen history buffs – because it means you can “buy it for them” and nick it back off them later when you want to watch it 😉. BONDI MASSACRE: Texan hero proves how it could have turned out differently
THE SHOCKING Bondi tragedy at a Jewish gathering has ignited fierce debate on Australia's draconian gun laws—but is self-defence a missing piece? In this episode, we dive deep into the argument around self-defence and look at how things could have turned out quite differently if our politicians looked at this logically. Should innocent people like you and me be able to protect ourselves? We draw on history where 71-year-old deputy sheriff Jack Wilson went from parishioner to hero in just 6 seconds after dropping a shotgun-wielding gunman at West Freeway Church of Christ in Texas. There were around 240 people at the church, which means Jack’s brave actions saved many, many other lives. Bondi was different. The entire Jewish gathering were sitting ducks. We’re not making out an argument for this one way or the other, but if PM Anthony Albanese and NSW Premier Minns were serious about finding real solutions, then this is a debate they need to at least be prepared to have. 👍 Like, Subscribe & Share for uncensored takes! Decorated firefighter of 35 years goes on strike "over government overreach on firearms"
NSW RURAL FIRE SERVICE VOLUNTEER, Robert Warren, a decorated firefighter with 35 years of service, speaks out about NSW's rushed gun law changes and why he's taking a stand. After receiving the Premier's Commendation and National Emergency Medal for the 2019-20 bushfires, Rob explains why he's now on a "quiet strike" from RFS duties—refusing to serve a government that's punishing law-abiding firearms owners for the failures of criminals and agencies. Robert discusses the deeply personal impact of arbitrary firearm limits, including having to give up family heirlooms. He shares his message to fellow RFS volunteers who may be firearm owners: NOW is the time to act. He encourages shooters to contact their local MPs, sign petitions, and support legal challenges like the McDonald Law fundraiser. This isn't just about guns—it's about government overreach, broken promises, and the disrespect shown to rural Australians who've given everything to their communities. The March 2027 NSW state election is coming. Make your voice heard. CURTAILING GOVERNMENT: Why a legal precedent from a NSW challenge could benefit us all
A LEGAL CHALLENGE against NSW's rushed gun laws could produce something that could benefit the shooting sports for the next twenty years. NSW Premier, Chris Minns, and his government will fight hard to avoid losing this legal challenge, but the real question we see is what, if any, legal precedent could be set if these challenges go ahead. A successful High Court or Supreme Court challenge could establish a legal precedent that could limit what governments can do on firearms legislation. That’s something no state, territory or federal government would want to see – because currently they do what they want, without anyone looking over their shoulders. That’s where the right legal challenge could unpick this – which, if we’re right, could put a stop to the sort of attacks on shooters we saw happen in NSW and recently in WA. The right sort of decision by a brave court could help go a long way to helping protect the future of our sport. Every shooter must support these fundraisers—links are below. 4 GUNS ARE NOT ENOUGH: Here’s why the NSW limits won’t work
WE TALK ABOUT how the new gun limits in New South Wales' recently passed firearms legislation will severely limit what hunters and target shooters can do. The new laws will limit hunters to just 4 firearms and target shooters to 10. We explain why these limits are inadequate for legitimate shooters. SEAN FRAZER walks us through his own hunting journey, that shows how easily you can exceed 4 firearms when going after rabbits, ducks, foxes, deer, and pigs. That’s because these require different calibres and configurations. That’s before you get to the needs of target shooters and farmers. Plus, we look at how family involvement can quickly chew up that number - because licensed children must have their firearms registered under their parents' licenses. FOR TARGET SHOOTERS, the situation is even more restrictive. We discuss how competitive shooters across multiple disciplines—including bench rest, metallic silhouette, and handgun competitions—need way more than 10 firearms to compete properly. WE ALSO COVER the three active fundraisers supporting legal challenges against these laws, which have raised over $300,000 combined - but need significantly more is needed to fund proper legal challenges. DAVID LEYONHJELM ON BONDI: Why a Royal Commission is needed
WE TALK WITH former Senator David Leyonhjelm about the growing calls for a Royal Commission into the Bondi Junction tragedy. We look at the differences between Royal Commissions and Coronial Inquests and why only a Royal Commission can answer the questions that the public is asking. Importantly, it can dive into our questions of why any changes to our gun laws were needed. We look at why the federal Labor government is resisting a full Royal Commission, the implications for firearms policy in New South Wales, and concerns about government accountability following the incident. David draws compelling parallels with the 1996 Port Arthur massacre, raising many unanswered questions about that investigation and its long-term policy consequences. In fact, if there is no Royal Commission into Bondi to answer the questions, there’s a good chance that the same questions, room for conspiracies and distrust of the government of the day from Port Arthur, will simply repeat themselves. So will the political anger. With families of victims now publicly demanding a comprehensive inquiry, this discussion examines what a Royal Commission could reveal about intelligence failures, policy enforcement gaps, and whether current responses adequately address root causes. This is essential viewing for anyone interested in Australian politics, public safety policy, and government transparency. -------------------------------------------------------------- GET EARLY RELEASES! NSW GUN LAWS: We take you through what the new laws mean for shooters and dealers everywhere
IN OUR 100TH EPISODE of Gun News Australia, we go through the final shape of the new gun laws that recently went through the NSW parliament. NOTE: The legislation has passed but has not yet come into effect. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO HAND ANY GUNS IN NOW because the government has not put any arrangements in place. We take you through what the new legislation says and the fallout that will hit the Liberal Party, which supported the bill. We discuss the terrible impact the new laws will have on shooting in NSW and elsewhere and the economy, including the possible loss of up to a third of NSW dealers. Plus hunters will be limited to four firearms – which is, in many cases, completely unrealistic – and why they need to be part of the political response to this. You can see the amendments here: https://www.parliament.nsw.gov.au/bill/files/18853/Passed%20by%20both%20Houses.pdf These need to be read in conjunction with the existing Firearms Act 1996 which you can see here: https://legislation.nsw.gov.au/view/whole/html/inforce/current/act-1996-046#sec.8 WE ALSO ENCOURAGE shooters everywhere to donate to the two fundraising campaigns to support anticipated legal cases in the High and Supreme Courts. These fundraisers involve using trust accounts – which means “The Kate Factor” that many shooters got caught up with earlier this year, is not there. Shooters can be assured the donations will go to the court actions they seek. Click here for a link to McDonald Law’s fundraiser. .. and click here for a link to the Terra Australis fundraiser. WE ALSO LOOK at the blunt message that Federal Labor MP and champion shooter, Dan Repacholi, gave to his own side of politics on the NSW Government’s kneejerk reaction – and why the ban on biathlon guns looks like it was inspired by the 40 year plus old James Bond film, “For your eyes only”. -------------------------------------------------------------- GET EARLY RELEASES! HERE COME THE LAWYERS: Two law firms gear up to challenge NSW’s new gun laws
CORRECTION: The reference to the McDonald website in the video is McDonaldlaw.com.au, not McDonald Legal. WE LOOK AT the devastating impacts the new gun laws in NSW will have on shooters and the broader firearm industry across the nation – and the TWO LAW FIRMS who are gearing up to fight the new laws. McDonald Law and Terra Australis Legal are both looking at different types of legal actions to deal with the bypassing of due process and devastating impacts the laws will have – in the High Court and Supreme Court of NSW. Both are running fundraisers which we URGE shooters to give to. Legal actions come with strict time limits, so we urge shooters to look at these fundraisers straight away. Do not sit on it for a few days because it may be too late! PLUS we deal with “the Kate Factor” in addressing the damage that Fantinel’s fundraiser has done to the reputation of fundraising for pro-firearm lawsuits. In both cases, the lawyers we talking about, are using their trust accounts -which means your donations are well protected by the legal framework. NSW GUN LAWS: We need to make sure we never see this happen again
WE LOOK AT the ePetition currently before the NSW Upper House asking the NSW Parliament to put a stop to Premier Minns' knee-jerk gun gun laws. The petition has already gained over 40,000 signatures, so if you’re in NSW, you need to add yours now! You can sign it by clicking here. There is also another pro-gun petition in the lower house, which you can see by clicking here. We also show the reaction from other states and territories, in a move that shows that the other states and territories don’t want to touch them. We also recap our week of coverage that explains what is proposed, what the cost to the NSW community could be, and why Labor has taken a path to electoral defeat at the next NSW state election. WE ALSO appeal to shooting organisations to look at the value of joining the National Gun Conference so that our community can respond more swiftly and cohesively to future attacks on our rights. The anti-gun lobby is getting bigger, more powerful and more agile, and we need to ensure we are never caught by surprise again—and take steps to undo the damage that has been done. This is not an impossible task – it just requires some recalibration of how organisations – and firearm businesses - want to protect what they do going forward. That’s because having organisations work in isolation simply isn’t working. -------------------------------------------------------------- GET EARLY RELEASES! WHAT’S IN THE NEW GUN LAWS FOR NSW: We take you through what will be tabled in NSW parliament this week
WE’VE BEEN BRIEFED on what the new laws for NSW shooters will be and also look at what is in store for NSW gun clubs and ranges. The changes include limiting the number of guns per individual, limiting gun ownership to Australian citizens (and excluding New Zealanders), new reporting requirements for clubs, the removal of the ability of people who don’t have a licence to ‘try the sport out’ and banning all straight-pull and button release firearms (not just shotguns). WE LOOK at what Labor MPs, who will know from the calls and emails they’ve received, just how toxic this legislation is – and how they can avoid losing their seats at the 2027 NSW state election. They need to understand that this is the result of Minns choosing to be briefed by lunatics who have no qualifications or experience with the shooting industry. THIS IS A MUST WATCH for both NSW shooters and MPs who will be voting on the legislation in the next few days. Imposing new gun laws is a vote loser. No government has ever won an election by bringing in new gun laws. It’s something that both sides of politics seems to have forgotten, which is why One Nation is starting to look like a good option for shooters. It is also a rally call for shooters to get behind Politics Reloaded – because we’re going to be following this right through to the NSW state election. This includes making sure that we have a repeat of 1988 – when Labor was kicked out - because they made the wrong call on firearms legislation. “BIGGER THAN 1996”: NSW set to pass new laws that would kill off the shooting sports in that state
NSW PREMIER CHRIS MINNS is recalling Parliament this week to pass new gun control laws after aligning himself with lunatics. The proposed laws include a 3-gun ownership limit, the elimination of recreational hunting licenses affecting 700,000 Australians, banning home firearm storage, prohibiting junior shooting programs (ending future Olympic pathways), and removing appeal rights to NCAT. Minns refuses to consult shooting organisations, instead getting his advice from an anti-shooting group that has no knowledge of how the shooting industry works. HISTORY warns of severe electoral consequences: in 1988, Barry Unsworth's NSW Labor government suffered a 10% swing purely on gun laws and lost power – on the back of gun control measures. The Nationals suffered real damage on the 1996 laws, and even WA Labor faced an 18% swing against it on the gun issue earlier this year. OUR MESSAGE to Labor is that you need to roll Minns as leader – now, or your party will repeat the Unsworth mistake. The consequences for the shooting sports are severe. They include the end of most shooting activities, range closures and the collapse of shooting-related businesses – for no reason. That’s why NSW shooters need to make sure Labor loses power at the next state election. NSW shooters need to act urgently – today! You need to contact your local MP via phone and email. Tell them you’re a constituent and a gun owner – and that that this issue will change your vote. BONDI SHOOTINGS: and why NSW Labor’s “tough new gun laws” could cost it the next state election
NSW PREMIER, Chris Minns means has foreshadowed changes to NSW gun laws following the tragic shooting deaths of 15 people, plus one of the perpetrators, at Bondi. In addition to the glaring question of why he won’t address the cultural melting pot that caused the event, we have a deeper look at what this means for shooters in NSW, and elsewhere. We remind the premier why calls to tighten gun laws is not only a fallacy but history shows could cost him any chance of winning the March 2027 state election. This is just a preliminary assessment that is essential viewing for any shooter – no matter what state or territory he or she may be in – needs to see. BETRAYED: Meet the SFFP MP who caused senior figures in his party to quit
THE SHOOTERS, FISHERS & FARMERS PARTY in Tasmania is in turmoil after MP Carlo Di Falco backed a billion-dollar football stadium he explicitly promised to oppose during the election. His sudden reversal delivered the government the deciding vote and triggered the resignation of senior party figures, tearing the SFFP apart. Supporters and volunteers who helped elect Di Falco feel betrayed, with shooters left empty-handed while he keeps his taxpayer-funded seat. This episode highlights a deeper cultural problem that makes running a minor party difficult: politicians and candidates who are prepared to abandon commitments and put their self-interest ahead of voters and party principles. -------------------------------------------------------------- GET EARLY RELEASES! ZERO BALANCE: We look at worrying news that Kate’s WA gun law fundraiser seems empty
IN THIS EPISODE, we look at the troubling advice from GoFundMe that the donations it received to help WA shooters fight the new gun laws in court, seem to have been withdrawn by the ‘beneficiary’, who can only be Kate Fantinel. That’s $178k worth of missing money – consisting of donations up to $3,000! This is a significant concern, because it means shooters of WA will not only not see any legal action taken for them, but the money they donated in good faith seems to have disappeared forever. We wrote to Kate to ask her what happened to the money and even invited her onto our program. However, no response has been received. That’s why we’re worried that the money might have disappeared forever. If we’re wrong, then all Kate needs to do is explain what’s happened. We also explain that while the next WA state election is three years away, there is still hope for shooters who are willing to roll their sleeves up and get behind organisations like ours who in the long haul. Yes, it’s a long-term fight, but it’s one we’re here for. -------------------------------------------------------------- GET EARLY RELEASES! You will remember she raised over $178,000 to "fight WA gun laws" and take "legal action”. Instead, she ran off to Texas without telling her audience of her intentions, only to make the surprise announcement on Easter Sunday. Kate has made no public offering refunds, as has instead been busy putting out videos showing where she is now spending her time and money – while still keeping the fundraiser going. We tell shooters who were stung by Kate’s campaign how put their claims in - but they ONLY HAVE A FEW DAYS LEFT to do it. That’s because GoFundMe has a 12 month limit for refunds, which, for many shooters, comes up in January IMPORTANT LINKS: Get your refund from GoFundMe by clicking here: See the SSAA National Official Statement by clicking here: See the SSAA Queensland Response by clicking here: -------------------------------------------------------------- GET EARLY RELEASES! SIFA LOST ITS POLITICAL VOICE: Here's What It Needs to Do to Get It Back
THE SHOOTING INDUSTRY FOUNDATION OF AUSTRALIA (SIFA) was once a powerful political force under CEO Rod Drew. He ran successful campaigns that pushed the political pendulum back in our favour. However, with his passing, any political capital they had under their new CEO, James Walsh, has been squandered – and we look at why. SIFA was even given the opportunity to steer the National Gun Conference – the very platform we needed to unite the shooting sports – but decided against working with others to help focus on the industry’s political problems. SIFA says it is the National Peak Body representing the Australian shooting industry. No it isn’t. Not by a long shot. If it really wants to earn that title, it needs to change its focus to work across political boundaries, rebuild relationships with shooting orgs and develop a clear and deliverable political narrative for upcoming state, territory and federal elections. Without that, it is the umbrella for some major wholesalers and importers – but that’s as far as the pussy-footing can go. We look at what SIFA needs to do. Importantly, we reckon the ‘fixes’ shouldn’t be that difficult to put in place. Getting rid of Walsh would be a good start. -------------------------------------------------------------- GET EARLY RELEASES! THE ‘PROPER COOL’ JUGGERNAUT: How one online trader has transformed arms fairs
GUN TRADERS AUSTRALIA (GTA) has achieved something remarkable in the Australian firearms industry. What started as a modest platform advertising just 30-40 used guns has exploded into one of Australia's leading firearms trading networks, hitting its 5 year growth target in less than 3 years. Their website has now reached an incredible milestone of 6.3 million views, cementing their position as an industry leader. IN THIS EPISODE, we explore how GTA is raising the professionalism of the gun trade across Australia. They've transformed gun fairs from simple "swap meets" into professional events, and becoming the major sponsor of gun shows in Queensland. Their efforts have resulted in record-breaking attendance at events like the Beenleigh Arms Fair, with unprecedented numbers of vendors and visitors. GTA continues to innovate with their VIP Program – an Australian first designed to help dealers struggling with low foot traffic. When customers join their email list, they’ll receive a pack that will include exclusive in-store promotions and discounts with participating dealers - creating a win-win ecosystem for buyers and sellers alike. PLUS, we touch on GTA’s Women Who Hunt Podcast, the growing presence of women in shooting sports (who often make better shooters because they listen to instruction!), and Carly's impressive sponsorship achievements. Check out The Woman Who Hunt Podcast by clicking here. There's even a quick look at the Bathurst Motor Museum – and a bit more reminiscing on the Leyland Brothers! Join us as we uncover how Gun Traders Australia is revolutionising arms fairs and customer service in the Australian market. -------------------------------------------------------------- GET EARLY RELEASES! GUN LAW REVIEW: WA goes for “The Vibe”
THE WA PARLIAMENTARY committee conducting the review in that state’s Firearms Act has chosen to justify the legislation on ‘the vibe’ where it says everything is needed for ‘public safety’ - without explaining why that is the case or why it’s even relevant. In its 264-page report, at no time did the committee provide any data or facts to back its claims. It also did not use, at any time the word “criminals” or similar phrasing. That means the report, which was prepared by a Labor / Greens majority committee, had just the one objective: to change nothing for licensed firearm owners regardless of what the truth may be. It was a whitewash. One that criminals will be happy with. The report failed to not only address the matters of concern to shooters – and the broader community – but didn’t even acknowledge that WA was out of step with other jurisdictions and the National Firearms Agreement. It was either a stunning display of ignorance of how the shooting sports and activities work, or a deliberate political move to try and dampen opposition to the chaos that WA now has. The committee took a leaf out of The Castle by relying on what it must have thought was “The Vibe”. In this episode, we take you through the main points of the report, and what shooters can do about it, with the next state election the next best opportunity they have to shove this bus into reverse gear. You can download the report at https://www.parliament.wa.gov.au/Parliament/commit.nsf/(Report+Lookup+by+Com+ID)/303148B399D1364548258D24002095FC/$file/Firearms%20Act%202024%20Report%20-%20Web%20Ready.pdf -------------------------------------------------------------- GET EARLY RELEASES! INTERNATIONAL EXPERTISE: The one key thing the WA review committee didn’t seek
IN THIS EPISODE, we look at the failure of the WA Government to pay attention to international ‘best practice’ when it comes to the target shooting sports. The International Shooting Sports Federation, or ISSF, is made up of 149 countries and looks after the training, competition, safety and other aspects of shooting right through to the Olympics and World Cups. It is represented here by Shooting Australia– which didn’t even get an invitation to explain how the shooting sports work at the recent WA hearings on the new Firearms Act. It was the elephant in the room that the committee did not see - andII would be like failing to invite the Australian Medical Association to hearings about proper medical practices, or the International Pilots Association to hearings about aviation safety. Even the chair of the committee seemed oblivious to how the sports are organised - until she heard from Murray Bow from the Western Australian Shooting Association. WE SPEAK with Murray about the bungling of the laws and how they affect shooters needing to enter WA and training shooters within clubs. Plus we look at the key issue of licensing junior shooters, in the face of calls by anti-gun groups to have the minimum age raised to 18. We delve into why this was an unrealistic call from narcissistically obsessed (and self-appointed) ‘community safety’ representatives whose only exposure to firearms is what they see on TV, rather than looking at what happens in the other 148 ISSF countries. Or how Aussie heroes like Russell Mark and Dan Repacholi got to the international stage from their start as juniors. Or why a WA Police and Community Youth Club had to end its air rifle program! We know there are many shooters who are not interested in ISSF, however the advice put forward by Murray would work to benefit every shooter, club and discipline – not just those heading to the Olympics. This is an opportunity for the committee to steer the government towards correcting the situation and a more workable framework. We can’t see them making wholesale changes to the framework – but a good step forward would be to mandate a better consultation framework that was led by ISSF interests, rather than local squeaky wheels such as SSAA. Disallowing the regulations would at least partially hit that important “reset” button. -------------------------------------------------------------- GET EARLY RELEASES! ‘SOVEREIGN CITIZEN’ RAIDS: WA Police’s dim view of the right to write letters
THE RECENT RAIDS in Western Australia on ‘sovereign citizens’ has way more to it than meets the eye. The seizures of over 100 firearms are based on the persons ‘views, opinions and attitudes’ rather than anything they did. They were accused by police that doing these things demonstrated “a disregard for the law” and ‘Sovereign Citizen ideologies’. Yet at least two people we spoke with said they don’t regard themselves as ‘sovereign citizens’ and that they don’t even know what ‘sovereign ideologies’ are. One had simply written to government agencies, while the other had attended a lawfully held rally. Things that we thought were democratic rights. IN THIS EPISODE, we look at why this is stuff straight out of North Korea – and something WA Police said will be rolled out in other states. A CLASS ACTION is being considered by one of the individuals who was targetted, and she is inviting people to contact her through us. If you’ve been affected and want to find out join the action, send us your seizure letter and contact info to [email protected] before 20 October. If you know someone affected by this, make sure you send a link to this video to them. We also point to the National Gun Conference where top politicians agreed there was a need to get police out of policy. “IT’S NOT AN ISSUE” – WAPol dismisses shooters' concerns at the Firearms Act review
WE COVER the final two sessions of the WA Parliamentary hearing on the WA Firearms Act review – with each producing unexpected surprises. The session of representatives for sport shooting groups, in our opinion, ended descended into a farce when SSAA WA representative went off track on unrelated matters, wasting valuable time in the one-hour slot shooting groups were given. We were unimpressed. This left representatives from the Western Australian Shooting Association (WASA) and Shooters Union Australia (SUA) having to represent the interests of shooters, which they did very well. This was followed by the final hearing with WAPol. OUR TAKE on what WAPol said was that they had no interest in the concerns of shooters, felt that the review of the Firearms Act was unnecessary, and had no idea of how the shooting sports work. One Acting Inspector even said that the failure to recognise interstate licences – which is a cornerstone requirement of the National Firearms Agreement – was “not an issue”. There was nothing that WAPol said that gives us confidence that they understand what the shooting sports need – and we’re not sure the Chair of the committee does either. -------------------------------------------------------------- GET EARLY RELEASES! WA GUN LAW REVIEW: Why mental health progress has been 'set back by years' … and why semi-autos need to come back
THE ROMANTICISATION of living in rural areas has led to the obscene situation where people and lawmakers living in Perth have even questioned why pastoralists even need firearms. It’s the deep divide between those who use firearms and understand the issues – and those who don't, but are quick to pass judgement on others. BRON CHRISTENSEN is the CEO of the Kimberley Pilbara Cattlemen's Association. She talks with us about the consultation process on the new laws led by WA Police that significantly understated what the new laws would mean for affected communities. She gives the example of how the checks were touted to be no more difficult than getting a drivers licence and could be done through telehealth services – when that is not the case. In fact Bron says how the new laws have set progress to supporting mental health back by many years. She also explains why pastoralists need access to semi-automatic and rapid firearms to be able to do their jobs properly – and why minor offences are now being dredged up to stop otherwise perfectly decent people from being able to earn a living. WA PARLIAMENTARY FIREARMS ACT REVIEW: We cover what the hearings heard
UPDATE: Before we start on the hearings, we have just FILED AN APPEAL with the Australian Review Tribunal in relation to our appeal on the federal government’s refusal to reveal the outcomes of discussions our firearm registries have been having on firearm policies. Thank you very much to those of you who donated to the fight – but we still need more to be able to continue the fight with our barrister. If you’d like to support the work, then here is the donation link: https://politicsreloaded.com/donate/ IN THIS EPISODE, we look at the hearings held by the West Australian Parliament on its review on that state’s shambolic new Firearms Act. We cover the hearings by the various groups including those involved in community safety, conservation, health issues, traditional owners, and shooting interests across farmers and shooting organisations. One thing which stood out for us is that Shooting Australia (not to be confused with SSAA) was not invited to the hearings despite the fact that they are the organisation that sends our target shooting teams to the Olympics. The only session yet to come is the one for WA Police who will have a lot of questions put to them on the challenges now facing WA shooters. We take you through what each of these groups said, including the WA Mental Health Commission which refused to acknowledge the legitimate use of firearms. We’ll cover the hearings involving traditional owners and the medical community said that 80% of doctors will now not support the mental health process. We even heard evidence that former Police Minister, Paul Papalia, told a group that ‘getting a shooting licence would be just like getting a drivers licence’. One of the groups even argued for the return of semi automatic firearms. We’ll be covering some of these hearings in more detail later on, which is why it pays to subscribe to this channel. That way you’re guaranteed of not missing those episodes when they come out – and it’s entirely free. FEDERAL LEGAL BATTLE STARTS: We're filing a lawsuit to uncover sneaky new gun policies
OUR FIGHT to expose what the various state and territorial registries have in store for us has taken a huge step – with our intention to FILE PROCEEDINGS with the Federal Administrative Review Tribunal. The proceedings will aim to overturn the refusal by the federal government to disclose what the registries have been working on through the Firearms and Working Policy Working Group (FWPWG). Our argument is that the federal government cannot rely on FOI exemptions because they do not administer the nation’s gun laws, other than at the border and on Commonwealth property. The fact is the government is simply trying to hide this information from us because disclosing what crazy new policies they have in mind would be embarrassing for them to have to defend in the court of public opinion. The costs of this fight start with the filing fee of well over $1k plus the specialist lawyer we need to hire to run the case. YOUR DONATION will help us cover the cost of doing this. “UN-AUSTRALIAN”: Queensland’s proposed gun club ID rules
A CRAZY proposal by the Queensland Government to introduce late-night club ID scanners to gun clubs is the first real nugget of our Freedom-of-Information request into the whacky inner workings of the national Firearms and Weapons Policy Working Group – or FWPWG. The idea, floated by Queensland Police, would see the technology used to vet non-licensed individuals who want to visit shooting ranges – when it was designed to be used to deal with drug and alcohol problems in licensed venues that operate past midnight. It means that juniors, who often can’t get government issued ID, will need to be refused entry. Putting the significant cost of the scanners aside, there are also ongoing software licensing costs and the fact that they can only be operated by licensed crowd controllers. One Queensland based pub put the cost of managing the scanners to their business as $80,000 a year. Another described it as “stupid” and “un-Australian”. This is a proposal that is clearly the brainchild of someone looking for a promotion rather than trying to do the right thing. This is the FIRST nugget of the FOI which will draw legal challenges which will cost a significant amount to fund. That’s why it’s CRITICAL that shooters who want to see these proposals exposed and beaten, need to support Politics Reloaded – which you can do by: Joining as a member by clicking here or by Supporting us through Patreon by clicking here. We will also be setting up a GoFundMe campaign to fund the challenges when they are filed. In the meantime, we hope Queensland based shooting organisations can use this exclusive reveal to help them fight against a policy environment that is clearly following WA as close as it can. WHITBY’S BLATANT LIE: Plus the gun rally success & why Labor might need to give shooters “a few carrots”
THE WA GUN RALLY may not have gotten the disallowance motion over the line, but it bear in mind it fell only two votes short. We look at the success of the rally, and why the fight for better laws for WA shooters is far from over. You can watch the ABC footage of the rally on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aOLRXcNHKWA The huge amount of signatures on recent petitions, the holding of two gun rallies in six months and the opportunity to belt anti-gun MPs between now and the next state election, is why political fights are necessary. In fact, we think Labor is on the verge of having to give shooters “a few carrots” to try to temper the work that is going on. The fight that we’ve been engaging in has set a new benchmark that we want shooting organisations in other states and territories need to follow whenever they face new restrictions. THIS IS THE REASON why Politics Reloaded was formed, and why we remain intent on having a National Gun Conference to help build a better understanding of what can be done across the entire shooting community. PLUS, we look at what Texan Kate seems to have been spending her money on, why her claims of ‘legal action’ remain furphies – and her new crown as ‘Lady Luxury’. With a bit of Motley Crue tossed in for good measure. If you donated to her fundraiser, you may still be able to get a refund by going to the GoFundme site. … and we take a quick look at the looming demise of the National Shooting Council as it racks up more ASIC bills yet again. -------------------------------------------------------------- GET EARLY RELEASES! SSAA KNIFES WA GUN RALLY: ... and the sneaky anti-rally rumour
WE EXPOSE how key elements of the SSAA WA have ‘crossed the line’ by opposing the second pro-gun rally being held on August 14 to fight against that state’s firearm laws. The shocking behaviour follows the SSAA WA’s opposition to the first rally held in February in the lead up to the WA State Election to protest against the new laws. We have been told that senior SSAA WA people are telling customers not to attend the rally, because it supports a “disallowance motion” in parliament that would overturn the new regulations. We understand they are being told this would result in there being no laws, which force police to seize ALL GUNS AND AMMO. ** The claim by those people is FALSE ** IF SUCCESSFUL, the disallowance motion would force result in the old regulations being returned, which would force the government to the negotiation table to come up with a better solution. Let’s be clear - No parliamentary party would ever support there being no gun laws! WA shooters need the disallowance motion to succeed. IT IS IMPORTANT that shooters in WA attend the rally, being held on the steps of Parliament at 11am on Thursday 14 February, and show their support to tank the new firearm regulations. WE ALSO have a SPECIAL OFFER for SSAA WA members. If you’re a member and attend the rally wearing your SSAA shirts and caps to show your support, email us at [email protected] and we’ll give you a YEAR’S MEMBERSHIP for free. Either way, it’s critical that if you’re a member of SSAA WA, that you get rid of your president, Paul Fitzgerald. In our view, Fitzgerald has consistently worked against important pro-gun initiatives and shown more support for the WA Government than for the shooting community. Show this video to your SSAA WA club executive (send them a link so they can watch it) – and ask them to work with other clubs to move an urgent motion to get rid of him. -------------------------------------------------------------- GET EARLY RELEASES! MORE WA GUN RALLY DETAILS: And busting the “disallowance” lie
WA’S LARGEST GUN RALLY will be held at the steps of WA Parliament in Perth this coming Thursday 14 August, to support the ‘disallowance’ motion to wipe out the firearm regulations which are causing so much pain for WA shooters. This will be the SECOND GUN RALLY in the one year! That’s a feat that has not been seen in any Australian city before. The rally in February was the BIGGEST PRO-GUN RALLY in WA in nearly 30 years – but is a record that will stand for barely 6 months! WE INTERVIEW the rally organiser, Dave Finnie, about why the rally is being held, how to get involved and explain why it is safe to attend. This follows the February rally where people who spread rumours about police and media hassling shooters - were simply proven to be untrue. ANOTHER RUMOUR we address is the claim that disallowing the regulations will create a regulatory vacuum which will result in WA Police seizing guns, ammo and shutting everything down. That’s completely FALSE, FALSE, FALSE! We read the explanation given by Dr Brian Walker that the Interpretations Act 1984 simply brings the old regulations back into force while the government is forced back to the negotiation table. YOU NEED to be at the rally. Bring your family, bring your shooting mates and stand proud for all shooters! If you’re a member of a shooting organisation, put your colours on and show your support. It’s at 11am, this coming Thursday 14th August, at the steps of Parliament in Perth. Turn up and make your anger towards what the government is doing to the shooting sports known. THE FUNDRAISER to support the rally with newspaper ads is at: https://www.gofundme.com/f/stop-the-overreach-newspaper-advertising-rally The organisers have helped pay for the ads out of their own pockets – so any help you and your shooting organisation can provide would be greatly appreciated! -------------------------------------------------------------- GET EARLY RELEASES! WA’S 2ND PRO-GUN RALLY: We speak with the organiser and give you the info you need
WE SPEAK with David Finnie, about the upcoming pro-gun / pro-freedom rally being held in Perth to put a stop to that state's new gun laws. This is the SECOND pro-gun rally being held in Perth this year, which is why we’re calling on EVERY SHOOTER to roll up to make their voices heard. David is also the principal petitioner of the motion to suspend enforcement of the new legislation, which is being sponsored by upper house MP, Dr Brian Walker MLC. We need 30 to 50,000 signatures, so sign the petition by clicking here. Dr Walker will be a key speaker at the rally, which is being held at Parliament House at 11am on Thursday 14 August. This is also an invitation to WA’s major shooting organisations to get behind the cause. HE HAS ALSO SET UP a GOFUNDME fundraiser to help pay for ads in WA media to let as many shooters as possible know about the rally. Each full page ad in the major papers could cost up to $30k – so we’re aiming to raise enough for two full page ads. To donate to the fundraiser, simply click here. David has also set up details to enable shooters to email their local MPs, which you can see by clicking here. -------------------------------------------------------------- GET EARLY RELEASES! PETITION TO SUSPEND WA FIREARMS ACT: Dr Brian Walker MLC tells us how it works & how you can help
WE SPEAK WITH Dr Brian Walker MLC, a member of the Western Australian Upper House of Parliament, about the petition he is holding to help WA shooters who are being targeted under that state’s new Firearms Act 2025. Dr Walker petition’s petition seeks to suspend the operation of the Act, suspend enforcement of some aspects by WA Police, and force an audit to be done of the transitional provisions of the new Act. We speak about the reason for the petition, the synergies he sees between his party, and the draconian approach WA Labor has taken to shooters. Dr Walker also shares his view that WA police have “imported” immigrants who have a fear of guns into their operating model. We also talk about the upcoming pro-gun rally to be held in Perth on August 14th, which we will be covering in more detail in the upcoming days. This will be the second major pro-gun rally to be held in Perth this year! You can read Dr Walker’s petition – and sign it – at: https://www.parliament.wa.gov.au/Parliament/LCePetitions.nsf/petitions/25-0016 -------------------------------------------------------------- GET EARLY RELEASES! WA SAFE SPECS ‘WITHDRAWN’: Why the new WA gun laws face a serious legal hurdle
AN AUSTRALIAN STANDARD, which is the basis of the new requirements for safes in WA, was REVOKED several years before the new laws came into effect. This serious oversight could render some of the new laws ineffective – and could make it impossible for WA police to prosecute gun owners under the new storage laws. The Firearm Regulations 2024 relies on AS/NZS 3809:1998 for Grade V safes – but that standard was formally withdrawn by Standards Australia in 2019. This is not only a serious oversight by the Cook Government, but WA Police’s legal team and that state’s Parliamentary Counsel who are supposed to vet regulations before they come into effect – and pick stuff like this up. It’s also something that Kate Fantinel’s team of legal eagles missed. IN THIS INTERVIEW, we speak with Wayne Lopaten, who checked into the requirements he thought would apply to his firearm collection and found the blunder before coming straight to Politics Reloaded. This is in addition to our leading discoveries of the RAAF closures from the 50 cal stunt at Pinjar Range and the reverse engineering of the maps that revealed the location of licensed shooters. The stuff up could pose serious problems for WA Police if they try to enforce the new laws because it references a non-existent standard - that any court would find less than amusing. The status of the standard can be seen at: https://www.standards.org.au/standards-catalogue/standard-details?designation=as-nzs-3809-1998 That page clearly says the standard was withdrawn – in 2019. It shows that drafting the new regulations involved ‘copying and pasting’ from some other source – or writing by someone who didn’t bother to check to see what the current standards are. It also leaves suppliers of safes without guidance on how they can make the products they produce – which can only have downsides with the supply of compliant safes. Please note we are not lawyers and this is not legal advice. If you are facing legal action from WAPol, you might want to show this video to your lawyer. -------------------------------------------------------------- GET EARLY RELEASES!
