    26. How to live, work, and heal through grief with Mira Simone

Kymber speaks with Mira Simone about the deeply personal and transformative experience of grief following the death of Mira’s partner, Brian. Mira shares what it was like to accompany him through the end of his life and reflects on how grief has reshaped her relationships, identity and work. Together, they explore the nonlinear nature of mourning, the parallels between grief and major developmental stages and how learning to sit with loss can open the door to deeper connection, healing and meaning.Today on Nourishing Our Sanity:Mira’s relationship with Brian and what it was like to steward him through deathWhy grief is nonlinear and not something we simply “get over”How grief parallels with developmental transitions Female life stages and how widowhood reshapes identityHow grief can deepen connection, meaning, and the work of helping othersWhere to find Mira:Instagram: @newmoonmiraWebsite: newmoonmira.com Where to find Kymber:Instagram: @kymbermauldenSubstack: @kymbermauldenWebsite: kymbermaulden.comEmail: [email protected] Resources:Kymber’s HTMA Consultation*This show is produced by Mountain Valley Media*

    25. The power of the Big Five Personality framework in women's health research

In this episode, Kymber explores personality through a grounded, research-based lens, contrasting popular frameworks with the empirically derived Big Five model. She unpacks why systems like astrology can feel compelling while often missing the mark, and reflects on how healing, life experience and conscious growth can meaningfully shape who we become over time.Today on Nourishing Our Sanity:What distinguishes the Big Five personality model from other personality frameworksCommon critiques of astrology and why it persists culturallyPersonality traits and patterns across monogamous, non-monogamous, and BDSM communitiesHow personality expresses itself under stress, trauma and relational dynamicsThe capacity for personality change through healing and developmentWhere to find Kymber:Instagram: @kymbermauldenSubstack: @kymbermauldenWebsite: kymbermaulden.comEmail: [email protected] Resources:Kymber’s HTMA Consultation*This show is produced by Mountain Valley Media*

    24. BioEnergetics, conception, and the myths of Infertility

In this episode, Kymber unpacks fertility through a bioenergetic lens by explaining how metabolism, thyroid health, micronutrient status, and chronic stress all play foundational roles in a woman’s ability to conceive. Drawing from Ray Peat’s work and her clinical experience, Kymber reframes infertility as a sign of deeper metabolic and systemic imbalance — one that is often more workable and reversible than women are typically told.Today on Nourishing Our Sanity:A review of bioenergetics How chronic stress, oxidative stress and survival physiology suppress fertilityKey micronutrients and systemic health factors that support female fertilityDebunking infertility myths and restoring agency around conceptionWhere to find Kymber:Instagram: @kymbermauldenSubstack: @kymbermauldenWebsite: kymbermaulden.comEmail: [email protected] Resources:Kymber’s HTMA Consultation*This show is produced by Mountain Valley Media*

Kymber sits down with Madison to explore her journey out of the Mormon church and into deeper self-trust, embodiment, and emotional clarity. Kymber critically examines gender ideology as a “sacred cow”—a belief system so protected that it shuts down inquiry and nuance. Drawing from her personal and professional experiences, she explores the importance of maintaining sex-based boundaries, the risks posed by self-ID policies and the ways queer theory can attract instability under the guise of liberation.Acknowledgements:Kymber refers to Alok Menon as “Anon” several times throughout the episode, mistakenly. 2. BioEnergetics 101 and Why This Matters

In this episode, I do my best to break down what it means to be healthy using the BioEnergetic lens and WHY this lens for understanding health is so so important. I believe understanding bioenergetics is important for everyone, but I believe it's especially important for women seeking sustainable healthcare solutions in a culture that teaches us to exceed our limitations on a daily basis. As a nutritionist with a health science degree under my belt, I wasn't taught to view physiology through this lens in college, nor was I taught in any of my nutrition studies to view human health through this lens. It's taken me many years of education, personal health struggles, and professional client coaching to deeply appreciate how broadly applicable and essential the Bioenergetic lens is for working with our health. In bioenergetics, we understand that energy begets structure and that energy and structure are interdependent at EVERY LEVEL of our health throughout our lives. This helps to explain why quick fixes and reductive solutions to fundamental disruptions in cellular energy can cause so many negative and unintended consequences - especially for women using health guidelines that are primarily geared toward male bodies. In bioenergetics, we understand that women have physiological needs unique to their complex reproductive functions which require MORE consistency in energy metabolism, stress mitigation, lifestyle alignment, and overall nourishment. Therefore, we experience more acutely the negative effects of stress and degeneration in our bodies. I found this topic to be a difficult one to convey and as an infant podcaster, I have no doubt that I fell short on doing it justice. However, since this topic is so fundamental to my understanding and approach to all of the other topics I'll be discussing in future episodes, my hope is that I got the point across enough to keep my listeners engaged and equipped for future conversations. I hope you enjoy the podcast and please consider giving it a review or letting me know what you got out of it!
