What Happens When You’ve Done Enough Healing? The “Expansion Crisis” and Learning to Trust Yourself, Feel Good and Live Your Life with Manjit Khalsa
What if the next stage of your healing isn’t another certification, another practice or another thing to fix, but learning how to actually live your life? Join me in this beautiful and wildly honest conversation, as I sit down with Transformational Coach Manjit Khalsa to explore what happens when we stop treating ourselves as projects and begin to trust our own inner knowing. We talk about the performative side of spirituality, the subtle ways we give our power away, and the surprising “expansion crisis” that can arrive when you’ve done so much healing that you no longer know what comes next. Together, we explore what it means to choose aliveness, make space for joy without guilt, question the stories and labels that limit us, and become curious about what is actually true for us now. Manjit shares her journey from living inside other people’s expectations to claiming her autonomy, embracing simplicity and creating a life oriented around what genuinely energises her. We also dive into the nervous system, breath, embodiment, spiritual identity, the pressure to keep healing forever, and the possibility that you may already have integrated more than you think. This is a conversation about coming home to yourself, trusting your own authority and discovering that perhaps the most radical spiritual practice of all is simply being fully, unapologetically alive. === GUEST LINKS: FREEBIE: 7 Days of Miracles: https://tantriclove.myflodesk.com/miracleguide Book a call: https://calendly.com/manjit-coaching/magical-you?month=2026-09 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/love_manjit_/ === VILATES •Website: https://www.vilates.com/ •Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/vilates_/ •Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/3fs2KlkHNzICKAg2crZSMB •Apple Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-ecology-of-intimacy-podcast/id1772602980 === . . . . . . The Biggest Lie We've Been Told About Women's Desire: Why Comparing Female Sexuality to Male Sexuality has Left Generations of Women Feeling Inadequate.
Why do so many women believe they're broken when it comes to desire? In this episode we explore one of the most misunderstood aspects of female sexuality: the difference between spontaneous and responsive desire. Drawing on contemporary sexology, neuroscience, nervous system science and embodiment, join me as I unpack why so many women have spent years measuring themselves against a model of sexuality that was never designed to reflect the female body. Together, we'll explore the role of emotional labour, stress, safety, relationships and context in shaping desire, why libido isn't something we can force, and how learning to listen to the wisdom of the body can transform not only our intimate relationships but our relationship with ourselves. If you've ever wondered, "What's wrong with me?" this conversation offers a compassionate and evidence-informed invitation to ask a very different question. Topics explored include: responsive desire, spontaneous desire, female libido, neuroscience, nervous system regulation, emotional labour, relationship dynamics, embodiment, sexuality, intimacy and human flourishing. === VILATES •Website: https://www.vilates.com/ •Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/vilates_/ •Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/3fs2KlkHNzICKAg2crZSMB •Apple Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-ecology-of-intimacy-podcast/id1772602980 === . . . . . . The Hidden History of Women's Desire: Why So Many of us Struggle to Know What we Want
Why do so many us struggle to answer one simple question: What do you really want? Join me in this episode as I explore the hidden history of women's desire through the lenses of anthropology, neuroscience, feminist history, embodiment and sexology. Together we'll trace how culture, patriarchy, religion, economics and invisible emotional labour have shaped women's relationship with their bodies, boundaries, pleasure and self-trust. This is not simply a conversation about sexuality. It's about sovereignty, flourishing and the conditions that allow women to truly come home to themselves. So if you've ever wondered why saying no feels difficult, why self-abandonment feels familiar, or why your deepest desires can feel so hard to hear, this episode offers a compassionate and deeply researched new perspective. Topics explored: Women's history and the evolution of patriarchy Desire, embodiment and self-trust The neuroscience of adaptation and nervous system safety Invisible emotional labour and motherhood Rest, pleasure and human flourishing Feminist thinkers including Gerda Lerner, Silvia Federici, bell hooks, Adrienne Rich, Carol Gilligan, Tricia Hersey and Adrienne Maree Brown Why healing is ecological, not merely individual. A Love Letter to My Daughters: What I Wish Every Girl Knew About Her Body, Boundaries, Consent and Sovereignty.
What if consent begins long before sex? In this deeply personal episode, I explore consent as something much bigger than just a sexual skill. I explore it as our relationship with our own bodies, our boundaries, our sensations, our authority and our capacity to remain connected to ourselves while staying in relationship with others. This episode is, in many ways, a love letter to my daughters, and to the little girl I once was who never received this kind of embodied education. We talk about the seemingly ordinary moments where children learn whether their "no" matters. A hug they don't want to give. A boundary that makes an adult disappointed. The subtle pressure to be polite, agreeable, accommodating or “good”. Because these moments teach children something profound: whether they are allowed to belong to themselves, or whether belonging requires them to abandon themselves. We explore self-consent, bodily autonomy, boundaries, coercion, nervous system regulation, emotional responsibility and why learning to tolerate someone else's disappointment can be such a powerful act of sovereignty. I'll also talk about what this means for girls and boys, how parents and trusted adults can become a child's “backup nervous system”, and why it is never too late to begin this work ourselves. Because consent isn't something we suddenly teach when a child becomes old enough to have sex. We've actually been teaching it all along. And perhaps the most beautiful lesson we can offer is this: Your body belongs to you and it's part of the conversation. You can listen to it. You can trust it. And you never have to abandon yourself in order to stay connected. We don't teach children autonomy by telling them they have a voice. We teach it by showing them what happens when they use it. No One Ever Regrets Leaving: Understanding Coercive Control, Gaslighting and the Courageous Path to Healing after Domestic Abuse with A.E. Lee
In this profoundly moving episode of The Ecology of Intimacy, I sit down with author, educator, and domestic violence advocate A.E. Lee, whose memoir One of the Lucky Ones tells the story of surviving years of coercive control and intimate partner violence. Together we explore the hidden realities of abusive relationships that so often go unseen. Amanda shares how abuse rarely begins with violence, but with a gradual erosion of confidence, isolation, gaslighting, and fear that leaves even the strongest women questioning their own reality. We discuss why leaving is often the most dangerous time, why survivors are so frequently disbelieved, the failures of the justice system, and the lasting impact of trauma on both mothers and children. Most importantly, this conversation offers hope. Amanda shares what healing has looked like, how she learned to trust again, and why no survivor should ever have to navigate this journey alone. Whether you've experienced abuse yourself, love someone who has, or simply want to better understand the complexities of coercive control, this is an essential conversation about compassion, courage, and the possibility of life after survival. Content Note: This episode discusses domestic and intimate partner violence and may be distressing for some listeners. The Great Theft: How Patriarchy Stole Women's Aliveness (And How We Find Our Way Back)
In this episode I talk about what I call: "The Great Theft" which is the systematic disconnection of women from their bodies, their pleasure, their sensuality, and their innate aliveness. Drawing on the work of Dr Helen O'Connell, Tricia Hersey, Adrienne Maree Brown, trauma research, somatic healing, Tantra, and nervous system science, I begin examining how patriarchal systems, productivity culture, and generational conditioning have shaped our relationship to rest, sexuality, pleasure, and self-worth. This episode is an invitation to stop asking, "What's wrong with me?" and begin asking a different question: "What have I had to disconnect from in order to survive?" So if you've ever felt exhausted, numb, disconnected, overwhelmed, or like you've somehow lost yourself beneath the weight of modern life, this conversation is for you. Some of the key topics covered are: feminine embodiment, female sexuality, somatic healing, nervous system regulation, burnout recovery, intimacy, Tantra, women's wellness, trauma healing, pleasure, self-trust, embodiment, erotic aliveness, patriarchy, relationships, emotional wellbeing. === VILATES •Website: https://www.vilates.com/ •Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/vilates_/ •Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/3fs2KlkHNzICKAg2crZSMB •Apple Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-ecology-of-intimacy-podcast/id1772602980 === . . . . Healing After a Toxic Relationship: Intimacy, Self-Love & Finding Yourself Again with Heather Melville
What if the reason you stay in a relationship that hurts you has nothing to do with love and everything to do with self-worth? In this deeply honest conversation, I’m joined by relationship coach Heather Melville to explore the hidden dynamics of toxic relationships, emotional abuse, self-esteem, body image, intimacy, and healing. Drawing from her own journey of leaving a long-term toxic relationship and rebuilding her life from the ground up, Heather shares the turning points that helped her reconnect with herself, reclaim her confidence, and discover what healthy love actually feels like. The Erotic as Liberation: Audre Lorde, Patriarchy, Pleasure & The Erotic as a Pathway to Power

Join me as I unpack the difference between objectification and true erotic embodiment, the long history of patriarchal control over women’s bodies, the medicalisation and pathologising of female sexuality, and why so many women feel disconnected from pleasure, desire, and aliveness. I also explore the wisdom of pre-patriarchal goddess cultures, sacred sexuality traditions, and the profound healing available through trauma-informed somatic work. Beyond Orgasm: Rewriting the Story of Female Sexuality with Jane Garnett
Join me in this deeply expansive episode as I sit down with Therapist, Psychedelic Integration Guide, Filmmaker, and host of the Sex, Psychics & Psychedelics podcast, Jane Garnett, for a conversation that completely reframes sexuality, intimacy, pleasure, and feminine aliveness. Together, we explore the hidden stories women carry about sex, desire, performance, orgasm, relationships, and what it really means to feel alive in your body. This episode is an invitation to unlearn the scripts of patriarchal conditioning, perfectionism, and performative sexuality and return to what feels true. Jane shares powerful reflections on: Why sexuality is not something you “achieve” but something you listen to The pressure many women feel to be endlessly orgasmic, available, and sexually “successful” How intimacy deepens when we release expectations and surrender to sensation Why midlife often becomes a portal into sexual reinvention and truth The importance of permission, rest, softness, and slowing down This conversation is soulful, provocative, liberating, and deeply human. If you’ve ever felt disconnected from your body, confused by your changing sexuality, or exhausted by the pressure to “get it right,” this episode will feel like a long exhale. When Trauma Becomes Identity; Reclaiming Your Body, Your Pleasure, and Your Sense of Self with Ashley Miley
In this deeply intimate conversation, I’m joined by Sacred Intimacy Coach and Ordained Priestess Ashley Miley to explore what it actually means to come home to your body after trauma, disconnection, and years of learned self-abandonment. We speak about the kind of healing that goes beyond understanding and into embodiment. The kind that asks you to feel what you have spent years avoiding. The kind that invites you back into your own nervous system, your own pleasure, and your own truth. Ashley shares her personal journey through sexual trauma, emotional disconnection, and the long, often solitary process of rebuilding a relationship with her body. Together, we explore the difference between talking about healing and actually living it through sensation, breath, and presence. This episode gently unpacks: • Why talk therapy alone often isn’t enough for deep sexual and relational healing • How trauma lives in the body and why embodiment is the pathway forward • The role of the nervous system in creating safety for intimacy and pleasure • How we unknowingly build identities around trauma, and how to soften those identities • The truth about “coming home to yourself” and why it changes everything • What it means to move from seeking love externally to cultivating inner sacred union • How pleasure becomes a reclamation of power, not performance This is a conversation for the woman who has done the work, read the books, tried to understand herself, and yet still feels a quiet distance from her body, her desire, or her sense of aliveness. You're not broken. There is nothing missing. There is simply a deeper layer of you waiting to be felt. === GUEST LINKS === •Website: thesacredintimacytemple.com •Join Email List Here: https://thesacredintimacytemple.com/email-list LINKS === •Website: https://www.vilates.com/ •Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/vilates_/ •Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/3fs2KlkHNzICKAg2crZSMB •Apple: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-ecology-of-intimacy-podcast/id1772602980 . . . . There’s Always More: Expanding Pleasure Across a Lifetime, Why Sexuality Doesn’t Decline, It Evolves with Susan Bratton
There comes a point, often in midlife, where something begins to shift. You might notice it in your body first. A subtle disconnection. Or a sense that intimacy has become something you think about, rather than something you feel inside yourself. And for many women, the question that follows is so deeply personal it’s rarely spoken out loud. “Is something wrong with me?” In this conversation, I’m joined by the Incredible Intimacy expert Susan Bratton, and together we explore what sits underneath that question with honesty, nuance, and care. We talk about the difference between libido, desire, and arousal, not as clinical concepts, but as lived experiences inside the female body. We explore how many women have been shaped by conditioning that prioritised performance over sensation, and how that disconnect can quietly follow us into midlife. This episode opens a different perspective. One where your body is not failing, but responding intelligently. Where desire is not something you’ve lost, but something that you may never have fully met yet. We explore: • Why low libido is often a misunderstanding, not a deficiency • How female arousal actually unfolds in the body • The impact of cultural conditioning on pleasure and intimacy • Why pleasure can deepen and expand over time • How communication becomes a bridge back to intimacy. Susan reminds us that this chapter of life is not about going backwards, it’s about meeting yourself in a new way, with more awareness, more honesty, and more permission than you’ve ever had before. So much so, that now, in her sixties, she's having the best sex of her life. So if you’ve felt disconnected, unsure, or even curious about what’s still possible for you in midlife and beyond, then this conversation will light a fire in your belly and let you know, that when it comes to sex and pleasure, there's always more! === GUEST LINKS: Susan Bratton: Website: https://betterlover.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susanbratton/ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/BetterLover === VILATES •Website: https://www.vilates.com/ •FREE RESOURCE Breast Massage Meditation: www.vilates.com/free-breast-massage-meditation •Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/vilates_/ •Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/3fs2KlkHNzICKAg2crZSMB •Apple Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-ecology-of-intimacy-podcast/id1772602980 === . . . . The Burnout Cure We Were Never Taught; How the Intersection of Art & Neuroscience Can Heal Our Nervous Systems with Lexi Reid.
In today's conversation I speak with Lexi Reed, a Creative Wellness Coach whose work sits at the intersection of neuroscience, creativity, and nervous system regulation. After years working in a highly successful STEM career, navigating high-pressure scientific environments and experiencing profound burnout during the pandemic, Lexi discovered something unexpectedly powerful and it changed everything for her. What began as a small act of creativity opened a doorway into something much deeper. A deep shift in the nervous system from fight or flight into rest and repair. A reconnection with sensation, creativity, and the parts of the brain that modern life so often neglects. A realignment with what felt true and had meaning. In this episode we explore how art, play, and sensory creativity can become a pathway back from burnout, particularly for high-achieving women who have spent years living primarily in their minds. Together we explore: • Why creative expression regulates the nervous system in ways thinking cannot • How sensory practices move us from rumination back into embodiment • The hidden emotional labour many women carry in professional environments • Why burnout often arrives quietly and accumulates over time • How creativity unlocks insight, problem-solving, and emotional clarity Lexi shares beautiful visual exercises she uses with clients, including practices that help women map their energy, recognise what drains them, and reconnect with what genuinely nourishes them. What emerges through our conversation is something both ancient and deeply needed in modern life. Creativity is not frivolous. It is not indulgent. It is one of the ways human beings regulate, process emotion, and return to themselves. For women who have spent years performing competence while quietly depleting their own reserves, this conversation is for you. === GUEST LINKS: FREE OFFER: Free 5-Day Creative Reset Challenge: https://subscribepage.io/UbjddV Website: https://mindartwellness.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/alexandra-j-reid/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/lexireidstudio/ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@MindArtWellness === VILATES •Website: https://www.vilates.com/ •FREE RESOURCE Breast Massage Meditation: www.vilates.com/free-breast-massage-meditation •Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/vilates_/ •Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/3fs2KlkHNzICKAg2crZSMB •Apple Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-ecology-of-intimacy-podcast/id1772602980 === . . . . Why Most Women Have Never Experienced Real Intimacy; Dévashi Shakti on Patriarchal Sex, Somatics & Reclaiming Female Power
Today I'm exploring one of the most invisible yet influential forces shaping modern relationships and sexuality: patriarchal conditioning around sex and intimacy. I’m joined by Devashi Shakti, the Founder of Tigress Yoga and a trail blazing, pioneer of female embodiment, somatic healing, and sensual sovereignty. Together we unpack the cultural paradigm that has taught women to disconnect from their instincts, override their sensations, and orient intimacy and pleasure around the male experience. This conversation opens a profound inquiry into what becomes possible when women begin to reclaim their nervous system sovereignty, sensual intelligence, and embodied authority. We explore: Why most women have never experienced the full potential of intimacy The impact of patriarchy on women’s nervous systems and sexuality The orgasm gap and the deeper cultural roots behind it How women reclaim sensual vitality, instinct, and personal authority What intimacy could look like beyond patriarchal conditioning Devashi also shares the origin story behind Tigress Yoga, a groundbreaking embodiment practice devoted to restoring women’s instinctual power, sensual vitality, and emotional autonomy. For decades, her work has guided women back into direct relationship with the wisdom of their bodies, long before somatic healing and nervous system regulation became mainstream conversations. This episode is an invitation to question what we’ve inherited about sexuality, and to imagine a new paradigm of intimacy rooted in mutual thriving, flourishing, and pleasure... beyond the patriarchy. === GUEST LINKS: Website: https://www.thetigresspath.com/ Podcast: Beyond Patriarchal Sex Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thetigresspath/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/devashi.tigress/ === VILATES •Website: https://www.vilates.com/ •FREE RESOURCE Breast Massage Meditation: www.vilates.com/free-breast-massage-meditation •Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/vilates_/ •Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/3fs2KlkHNzICKAg2crZSMB •Apple Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-ecology-of-intimacy-podcast/id1772602980 === . . . . From Overwhelm to Embodied Power in Motherhood; Reparenting Your Inner Child, Reclaiming Your Energy & Regulating Your Nervous System with Rubina Chadha
Motherhood cracks us open. It slows us down. It strips us bare. And confronts us with parts of ourselves we didn’t even know were still running the show. In this deeply nourishing conversation, I sit down with internationally recognised mindfulness educator, trauma-informed coach and the founder of Inner Design™, Rubina Chadha, to explore what it really means to come home to yourself, through motherhood, through intimacy, and through the breath. We talk about sleep deprivation and nervous system overwhelm. About over-giving, depletion, and losing yourself in the relentless pace of modern life. About how our children mirror our unhealed parts and how parenting can become one of the most profound spiritual initiations we will ever walk through. Rubina shares powerful, practical tools for emotional regulation and embodied presence, including micro-mindfulness practices you can use in the middle of a chaotic day. We explore how breath-work can regulate your emotions in real time, how intimacy begins within your own body, and why true connection requires presence, not performance. We explore: How motherhood becomes a gateway to reparenting your inner child The nervous system science behind breath and emotional regulation Why intimacy is an internal experience first, not something someone else gives you How unresolved stress quietly limits your life force and creativity And simple grounding practices to return you to yourself in minutes This is a conversation about clearing the debris of old conditioning. About reclaiming intimacy, not just in partnership, but with your own breath, your own truth, and your own energy. Because when you learn to be deeply present with yourself, everything changes. And that is where real intimacy begins. === GUEST LINKS: Website: http://theinnerdesign.com Website: https://www.womeninpowertv.com/rubina-chadha63221754 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/theofficialrubina LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/rubina-c . === VILATES •Website: https://www.vilates.com/ •FREE RESOURCE Breast Massage Meditation: www.vilates.com/free-breast-massage-meditation •Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/vilates_/ •Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/3fs2KlkHNzICKAg2crZSMB •Apple Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-ecology-of-intimacy-podcast/id1772602980 === . . . . Midlife Sexuality, Perimenopause, & Reclaiming Pleasure After 40: Finding the Fire You Never Had with Dr Kelly Barron
What if midlife isn't the crisis society tells us; but rather the beginning of finding your fire? In this powerful conversation, I’m joined by Dr. Kelly Barron, founder of Tempesta and the Dr. KellFire show. She's a Chiropractor, Licensed Acupuncturist, Certified Menopause Specialist, Sexual Health Alliance Coaching Candidate, and fierce advocate for women reclaiming their sexuality in midlife. Together, we explore what happens when women stop trying to “get back” to who they were in their twenties… and instead discover a fire they may never have known. Kelly shares her extraordinary journey, from surviving a violent assault to becoming a champion powerlifter, MMA fighter, and leader in menopause and sexual health. Her story is one of resilience, reinvention, and radical self-ownership. But what moves me most in our conversation is her unwavering devotion to helping women understand this truth: Midlife is not the end. It is your peak. We speak honestly about: The medical gaslighting so many women experience in perimenopause and menopause Pelvic health, libido changes, GSM, and why “use it or lose it” matters The performative sexuality many of us were conditioned into, and how to unlearn it Why communication (with yourself and your partner) is everything The evolutionary power of menopause Reclaiming pleasure as a portal back to your feminine energy Falling in love with yourself as your first love relationship. We also dive into ritual, nervous system regulation, sisterhood, and why gathering together in community is medicine. If you’ve ever felt flat, lost, invisible, or disconnected from your body, If you’ve wondered where your libido went, or even if you ever truly claimed it, This episode is for you. Because the truth is: your sexuality is not something you outgrow. It is something you grow into. And midlife might just be the most exquisite chapter yet. === GUEST LINKS === Website: https://drkellfires.com/ Website: https://mytempesta.com/ Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/au/podcast/the-kellfire-show/id1755062663 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/iamkellfire/ === LINKS === Website: https://www.vilates.com/ Free Resource: Massage Meditation: www.vilates.com/free-breast-massage-meditation Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/vilates_/ Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/3fs2KlkHNzICKAg2crZSMB Apple: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-ecology-of-intimacy-podcast/id1772602980 . . . . The Erotic Nervous System: How Safety, Sensation, and Pleasure Rewire the Body with Megan Millington
Welcome to Season Two of The Ecology of Intimacy. We’re kicking off 2026, the Chinese Year of the Fire Horse, with an invitation into movement, change, courage, and aliveness. Intimacy, like life itself, is always changing. Our bodies, desires, relationships, nervous systems, and erotic lives are constantly evolving, and this conversation is about learning how to ride those waves rather than resist them. I’m joined by Trauma-informed, Sexuality Coach Megan Millington, whose work in erotic re-patterning is helping women and men reclaim pleasure, safety, and deep intimacy from the inside out. Together, we explore why so many women experience low libido, numbness, disconnection, or shame and what lies underneath those layers. We talk about how early experiences, trauma, stress, motherhood, religious conditioning, medicalised sexuality, and cultural myths all shape our understanding of desire. And Megan shares her own journey from believing she was broken, even asexual, to discovering that her body was simply protecting itself. At the heart of this conversation is a powerful truth: desire returns when safety is restored. We explore: Why low libido is often a nervous system response, not a diagnosis How emotional, somatic, spiritual, and energetic safety impact arousal and orgasm The myth of performative, intercourse-based sex and the orgasm gap Why pleasure is not frivolous but a powerful technology for healing and regulation How intimacy can be woven into everyday life, even during exhaustion, parenting, grief, or change Why you're not broken and how your body is deeply intelligent This episode invites you to question the sexual narratives you’ve inherited, and begin rebuilding intimacy in a way that honours your body’s timing, wisdom, and truth.

You’re Not Broken: Why Low Libido is a Lie and How Learning the Deep Intelligence of Womens Sexuality and Desire System is the Key.
As we come to the close of Season One of The Ecology of Intimacy podcast, I wanted to pause, reflect, and say a heartfelt thank you for being a part of this journey with me. This episode is both a love letter and a deep exhale. It’s a celebration of the conversations we’ve shared about sexuality, intimacy, pleasure, women’s bodies, relationships, and what it truly means to feel alive in ourselves and to give ourselves permission for pleasure. To close out 2025, I’m sharing highlights from two of our most-loved, most-downloaded conversations. First, Somatic Sex Expert Susan Morgan Taylor unravels the deeply ingrained myth of “low libido” in women. We explore why so many women are mislabeled, misunderstood, and pathologised, and how education, embodiment, and somatic sexuality can radically transform desire, orgasm, and connection. Then, the Incredible Intimacy Expert Lauren Elise Rogers brings us into a tender, revolutionary conversation about body criticism, self-permission, and pleasure. We explore how the way we speak to ourselves, especially about our bodies, directly impacts our ability to feel desire, intimacy, and orgasmic aliveness. Her message is clear and deeply reassuring: you are not broken, the sexual scripts are. This episode is an invitation to soften, to unlearn, to remember, and to step into a more pleasure-filled, deeply embodied relationship with yourself and with your life. As we prepare for Season Two in early 2026, my hope is that these reflections nourish you, inspire you, and remind you why your intimacy matters. Thank you for walking this path with me. I’m so grateful you’re here. Why You're Fighting Over Costco Receipts (And What It Really Means): Healing Relational Patterns with Monica Tanner.
Wow, this conversation completely shifted how I think about marriage and relationships. You know how we're always told that marriage is all about compromise? Well, what if I told you that's actually terrible advice and it's been keeping you stuck? Today I'm speaking with Monica Tanner, an incredible Relational Life Therapy trained Relationship Coach who literally wrote the book on Bad Marriage Advice (and yes, that's the actual title!), and she absolutely blew my mind. We dove deep into why so much of the traditional wisdom we've been taught about relationships is actually sabotaging our happiness. And what hit me hardest: was how we've been sold the idea that marriage or any successful long term relationship is all about compromise, but that compromise actually makes us start to silently keep score of who gave up what. So Monica introduces this beautiful concept of collaboration instead of compromise. It's about getting what she calls compassionately curious about what matters to you AND what matters to your partner, and WHY, and then using that to create something even better together. We also talked about how we can approach extended family dynamics as the holidays approach, you know that feeling of dread mixed with excitement? That pull back into old family dynamics and the stress so many of us feel at a time of year that's meant to be joyful? Monica helped me understand why that happens and, more importantly, how to navigate it without losing yourself or your relationship in the process. But what's really stayed with me was this idea that our inner children are often running the show in our relationships. All those adaptations and coping mechanisms we created as kids to survive? They're still playing out in our relationships as adults, our communication patterns, our fights over things like Costco receipts (yes, we went there!). But the beautiful part is that once we understand this, we can start to heal and make different choices and begin to shift the patterns that have kept us stuck. This conversation reminded me that nothing has gone wrong when relationships feels hard, it's just that it's time to grow. So if you've been feeling stuck, or like you’re more roommates than lovers, if you're navigating those tricky family dynamics or just wondering how to communicate without everything turning into a battle, this episode is for you. My intention for this episode is that is supports you to navigate the coming holidays and festive season with less stress, and relational triggers, and with more ease and grace. Enjoy. === GUEST LINKS: OFFER: https://badmarriageadvice.com Website: https://monicatanner.com Instagram: https://instagram.com/monitalksmarriage . === •Website: https://www.vilates.com/ •FREE RESOURCE Massage Meditation: www.vilates.com/free-breast-massage-meditation •Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/vilates_/ •Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/3fs2KlkHNzICKAg2crZSMB •Apple Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-ecology-of-intimacy-podcast/id1772602980 === . . . . When "How Can I Help?" Makes You Want to Scream: Let's Talk Emotional Labor, ADHD, and the Fair Play Solution with Dr Regina Lark.
Join me in this powerful conversation with Dr. Regina Lark about the invisible work that keeps all our homes and lives running, but that ultimately leaves us completely exhausted. In this episode, we dive deep into emotional labor, and the mental load, and why as women, we're constantly doing the behind-the-scenes work that no one sees or values. Dr Regina has a PhD in women's history and runs a professional organizing and move management company, and she brings a refreshing perspective on the work of household management, decluttering, and the cognitive skills required to keep everything together and running smoothly. We talk about the reality of being the "default parent," the one who's always doing the mental math (like figuring out if we need to to feed the kids by 5:30pm so we can get to the sitter by 6pm so we can make it to that 7pm concert). Sound familiar? Yeah, me too! Regina explains how the work we do at home requires the exact same executive function skills that professionals use in the workplace and that business leaders require to succeed, skills like; planning, processing, sequencing, time management. Yet somehow when we're doing it at home, it's dismissed as "just women's work" or a "labor of love" instead of being recognized as the actual labor and never-ending workload that it is. We also get into ADHD in women, chronic disorganization, and why so many of us are just now discovering we've been struggling with executive function challenges our whole lives. If you've ever felt overwhelmed by clutter, asked permission to throw something away, or wondered why your partner doesn't just see what needs to be done, then this conversation is for you. Regina introduces the concept of radical delegation and shares the game-changing Fair Play method (with actual playing cards!) that helps couples divide household responsibilities equitably. And makes the invisible work we all do, so much more visible. We talk about weaponized incompetence, the dreaded "how can I help?" question, and practical ways to create a household where everyone actually wants to live. This isn't just about organizing your home, it's about re-organizing your life, setting boundaries, asking for help, and recognizing that you deserve support with the enormous amount of work required to keep a house running, the very work that holds the entire fabric of our society together! So whether you're a working mom, managing a household solo, or trying to balance career and family, this conversation will make you feel seen and give you tools to create real change. Join me for this honest, compassionate discussion about women's work, gender equity, household equity, and what it really takes to lighten the load we've been carrying for far too long. === GUEST LINKS: Website: https://aclearpath.net/ Website: https://www.reginalark.com/ Book: https://www.reginalark.com/emotional-labor/ https://www.amazon.com/Emotional-Labor-Womans-Never-About/dp/B09HG6C5GF/ref=sr_1_12?dchild=1&keywords=regina+lark&qid=1633128045&s=books&sr=1-12 RESOURCES: The Fair Play Policy Institute: https://www.fairplaylife.com/ Fair Play Cards: https://www.fairplaylife.com/the-cards Institute for Challenging Disorganisation: https://www.challengingdisorganization.org/ . === •Website: https://www.vilates.com/ •FREE RESOURCE Massage Meditation: www.vilates.com/free-breast-massage-meditation •Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/vilates_/ •Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/3fs2KlkHNzICKAg2crZSMB •Apple Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-ecology-of-intimacy-podcast/id1772602980 === . . . . The Hidden Map to Female Power: Thresholds, Portals, and the Four Female Life Cycles
This episode is a fiery, truth-telling conversation on the four true phases of a woman’s life: Child/Maiden, Mother/Creatrix, Maga/Healer, and Wise Woman/Crone. And how patriarchal culture’s obsession with youth keeps women disconnected from their real power. We unpack how to reclaim every stage of your life as sacred, to honour your desires as your soul’s GPS, and step fully into your creative, erotic, and spiritual potency at any age. Leaving behind what no longer serves you, and claiming the power that's always been yours. It’s raw, real, and a radical reclamation of womanhood beyond the patriarchy’s script. So often we’re told there are only two stages in a woman’s life; young and old. But that couldn’t be further from the truth. Each stage of our life cycle carries its own gifts, power, and sacred purpose. From the innocence and exploration of the Maiden years, to the creative fire and mastery of Motherhood and Creatrix, through the potent healing and truth-telling of the Midlife Maga and Healer, and into the deep wisdom and spiritual power of the Wise Woman and Crone; each phase is a portal into greater wholeness. Each cycle carries the stories of our ancestors and the lineage of women's wisdom that we feel in our bones, that we all know in our quieter moments. This is a tender, fierce, and deeply affirming episode. It's my love letter to every woman who’s ever felt unseen, stuck, or disconnected from her changing body and evolving self. My hope is that you walk away remembering just how extraordinary, powerful, and necessary you are: in every season of your life! === LINKS: === •Website: vilates.com •FREE Breast Massage Meditation: www.vilates.com/free-breast-massage-meditation •Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/vilates_/ •Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/3fs2KlkHNzICKAg2crZSMB •Apple Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-ecology-of-intimacy-podcast/id1772602980 === . . . . Join me in this juicy and deeply honest conversation with the brilliant British-Irish Writer, Author, and Sexuality Advocate, Tash Doherty. Together we talk about pubic hair, alchemising shame, and the radical act of embracing our bodies, voices, and sensuality in a world that still teaches women to shrink, hide, and self-censor. From exploring inner child work and sexual conditioning to celebrating some of the most incredible poetry as a gateway to sensual expression, Tash shares her story of breaking free from the prim and proper confines of elite schooling, rediscovering her rebellious creative voice, and writing her debut novel These Perfectly Careless Things. The conversation dives into self-compassion, body acceptance, and how writing and journaling can become tools for erotic healing and self-discovery. If you’re ready to heal some shame and explore your sexuality in a deeply honest way, I invite you to join us in this lively discussion where we reveal Tash’s latest offering; the upcoming Intimacy Journal: A Journey of Sensuality, Sex, and Self. === GUEST LINKS: Website: https://www.tashdoherty.com/ Substack: https://misseducated.substack.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/misseducated_/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/tashdoherty_/ Tiktok: https://www.tiktok.com/@misseducated_ Book: https://www.amazon.com/These-Perfectly-Careless-Things-Coming/dp/B0CKKXKQLC/ . === The Anatomy of Pleasure Masterclass: https://www.vilates.com/waitlist2025 Website: vilates.com FREE Breast Massage Meditation: www.vilates.com/free-breast-massage-meditation Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/vilates_/ Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/3fs2KlkHNzICKAg2crZSMB Apple Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-ecology-of-intimacy-podcast/id1772602980 === . . . . Becoming Cliterate: Orgasm Equality and the Hidden Link Between Sexual, Emotional, and Economic Empowerment
If you’ve ever found yourself performing your pleasure instead of fully feeling it, this episode is your wake-up call. Today, I’m inviting you into a deeply honest conversation about orgasmic equality and the truth of women’s pleasure. Drawing inspiration from Dr. Laurie Mintz’s groundbreaking book Becoming Cliterate, we’ll explore why the “orgasm gap” isn’t a personal problem, it’s a cultural conditioning that teaches women to perform pleasure instead of embodying it. Join me as I unpack how understanding your own arousal system, anatomy, and nervous system can completely transform your relationship with your body and your experience of intimacy and connection. You’ll learn how orgasm equality is not just about pleasure, it’s the very foundation of personal, creative, emotional, and even economic empowerment. So if you’re ready to stop faking it, in bed and in life, and start living from your most embodied, turned-on truth, pour yourself a cup of tea, and get comfortable and let's get to it! === LINKS: === •Anatomy Of Pleasure Masterclass: https://www.vilates.com/waitlist2025 •Website: vilates.com •Rebirth 1:1 coaching: https://www.vilates.com/the-rebirth-intimate-coaching •FREE Breast Massage Meditation: www.vilates.com/free-breast-massage-meditation •Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/vilates_/ •Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/3fs2KlkHNzICKAg2crZSMB •Apple Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-ecology-of-intimacy-podcast/id1772602980 === . . . . The Art of Listening: A Simple Practice to Transform Your Relationship
So many of us grew up in families where our emotional expression was stifled or invalidated, and those formative experiences often play themselves out in our adult relationships and the ways we navigate (or avoid) conflict. Most couples will have the same fight over and over again, whether it’s the dishes in the sink, stress about finances, sex, or lack of time together. But what if those recurring conflicts aren’t about what we say they are, but instead the need for something deeper? What if they’re actually invitations to heal old wounds and deepen our intimate connection? Join me in this episode as I unpack why conflict is not only healthy, but necessary in relationships, and how our nervous systems interpret disagreements as threats based on childhood conditioning. I share a simple but transformative practice of active listening that will allow you to get underneath the surface of any argument you may be having, and help you to uncover what’s really going on. Practicing this skill will help you to connect with your partner in ways that feel profoundly healing for both of you. You’ll learn: Why we repeat the same arguments in relationships How childhood experiences shape the way we handle conflict A step-by-step tool for listening that shifts fights into connection The powerful phrase that can dissolve defensiveness and open intimacy If you’ve ever felt stuck having the same fights with your partner, this episode will give you a roadmap to move from frustration into deeper connection, intimacy, and genuine understanding. === LINKS: === •Website: www.vilates.com •Rebirth 1:1 coaching: https://www.vilates.com/the-rebirth-intimate-coaching •Anatomy of Pleasure Masterclass Waitlist: https://www.vilates.com/priority-waitlist2025 •FREE Breast Massage Meditation: www.vilates.com/free-breast-massage-meditation •Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/vilates_/ •Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/3fs2KlkHNzICKAg2crZSMB •Apple Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-ecology-of-intimacy-podcast/id1772602980 === . . . . . . Finding Love After Divorce: What Lies Beyond Cultural and Societal Expectations?
If you've ever found yourself living a life that ticks all the boxes on the outside, but still feel like something's missing, then this conversation's for you. Today I'm speaking with the incredible Somatic Love Coach Manjit Khalsa, and honestly, this conversation moved me to tears and also into deep joy and recognition of so much truth. Manjit is here to speak about love, and all the ways we search for love, need love, seek love, and how we can open into finding love especially as we move through major life transitions such as divorce, or going against cultural or societal expectations. Manjit shares so vulnerably and courageously her own journey from fulfilling all the cultural expectations of her deeply traditional community, achieving all the professional accolades, getting married, and getting the house, while simultaneously finding herself depressed and unwell with an autoimmune illness. But like a phoenix rising from the ashes, she walked through the fire of divorce and left everything she had known behind and stepped into a profound and life-changing journey of discovering herself, her desires, self-love, and sovereignty. Together, we discuss what it truly means to choose yourself, trust your desires as your own internal compass, and to embody love as a lived experience and expression, beyond definitions, boxes, and societal expectations. This episode is an invitation to remember your own inherent wholeness, to open and soften into receiving, and rediscover love in its most radical form: within yourself. === GUEST LINKS: Connect and work with Manjit: Website: https://manjitkhalsa.podia.com/ Open to Love: https://manjitkhalsa.podia.com/open-to-love Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/pleasure_labs/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/manjit.khalsa.37 === •Website: www.vilates.com •Rebirth 1:1 coaching: https://www.vilates.com/the-rebirth-intimate-coaching •Anatomy of Pleasure Masterclass Waitlist: https://www.vilates.com/priority-waitlist2025 •FREE Breast Massage Meditation: www.vilates.com/free-breast-massage-meditation •Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/vilates_/ •Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/3fs2KlkHNzICKAg2crZSMB •Apple Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-ecology-of-intimacy-podcast/id1772602980 === . . . . . How to Heal Imposter Syndrome and Own Your Worth.
Ever feel like you’re faking it, even when you know you’re capable, qualified, and accomplished? You’re not alone. In this episode, we’ll explore the deeper roots of imposter syndrome and why so many women struggle with it, especially when we dare to step outside the status quo and create a life on our own terms. You’ll discover how disconnection from your body, your desires, and your inner wisdom fuels self-doubt, perfectionism, and the “never enough” mindset. And more importantly, you’ll learn how to begin unraveling that conditioning so you can step back into your worthiness, your power, and your joy. This isn’t about hustling harder or proving yourself. It’s about remembering that you're inherently deserving, even when you’re resting, creating, laughing, and especially when you're simply being. You’ll be invited to reframe imposter syndrome not as a setback, but as an invitation to come home to yourself. If you’ve ever wondered “Who am I to do this?” then this conversation is for you. Mismatched Libidos: Getting to the Heart of Low Sex-Drive in Women with Somatic Sex Therapist Susan Morgan Taylor.
This episode is everything for anyone who's ever been labelled as the 'low-libido' partner, or who's in a relationship where there's mismatched libidos causing havoc. Join me as I sit down with renowned Somatic Sex Therapist Susan Morgan Taylor, who has helped hundreds of couples deepen the intimate connections and create mutually satisfying sex and intimacy for the long term. Susan shares her personal journey from a sexless marriage to a profound awakening of her own orgasmic potential, and how that's inspired her to help women around the world to experience their own sexual awakening through creating the incredible Pleasure Keys process. Together, we unpack the persistent myths around women’s libido and sex drive, the difference between climax and orgasm, and why redefining sex as connection can change not only our relationships, but our entire lives. Susan believes we can change the world by how we have sex, make love, and that our intimate relationships are the most direct opportunity for personal growth and healing. Because how we show up intimately and sexually is really reflective of how we connect with all of life and how we connect with others, and ultimately with ourselves. If you’ve ever felt like intimacy was out of reach or struggled with low sex drive or mismatched libidos, this conversation is truly a gift. === GUEST LINKS: Website: https://www.pathwaytopleasure.com/ === •Website: https://www.vilates.com/ •Anatomy of Pleasure Masterclass: https://www.vilates.com/priority-waitlist2025 •Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/vilates_/ •Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/3fs2KlkHNzICKAg2crZSMB •Apple Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-ecology-of-intimacy-podcast/id1772602980 === . . . . Pleasure is Power: Why Your Body was Never the Problem - it’s the Portal, with Lauren Elise Rogers.
What if your body & your sexuality were never broken, but sacred all along? ✨ Today I’m speaking with Lauren Elise Rogers, a Holistic Sexuality Educator and Embodied Intimacy and Relationship Coach. And honestly, having this conversation felt like sitting down with a dear friend who finally said out loud so many things we’ve all thought but never spoken. Lauren shares her story of growing up in purity culture, marrying young, and then finding herself in a sexless, confusing marriage that was shrouded in silence. I could feel that ache when she described thinking “something must be wrong with me”, because at some point, haven’t we all been there in some form or another? What really struck me however, was the turning point in her life, when through the support of a dear friend, she realized she had a choice to make. And that moment of stepping into her agency, of reclaiming her voice, her body, her desires; that moment was both terrifying and liberating at the same time. Lauren lost her marriage, her faith community, her sense of belonging, and yet, in the middle of all that rubble, she discovered something extraordinary: her own self-trust. And like a Phoenix rising from the ashes, she transformed her life from pain to power. Now Lauren helps women all around the world to release shame, remember their wholeness, and reclaim the sacred connection between pleasure, spirit, and self-trust. Together, we explore how to invite more joy and embodiment into everyday life, whether through small acts of comfort, moments of beauty, or finally granting ourselves permission to desire and orient to pleasure. So, if you’ve ever felt disconnected from your body, questioned your worth, or longed for deeper intimacy, this episode will feel like both a mirror and a gentle hand to hold. It’s an empowering reminder that you are not broken, and that true pleasure, freedom, and self-trust are yours to claim. === GUEST LINKS: Connect with Lauren: https://sexedforyou.com/connect Website: https://sexedforyou.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sex_ed_for_you/ === •Website: www.vilates.com •Rebirth 1:1 coaching: https://www.vilates.com/the-rebirth-intimate-coaching •Anatomy of Pleasure Masterclass Waitlist: https://www.vilates.com/priority-waitlist2025 •FREE Breast Massage Meditation: www.vilates.com/free-breast-massage-meditation •Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/vilates_/ •Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/3fs2KlkHNzICKAg2crZSMB •Apple Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-ecology-of-intimacy-podcast/id1772602980 === . . . . In this episode, I open up about why so many of us have been left in the dark when it comes to our bodies, our sexual anatomy, and the foundations of arousal, power, and pleasure, and how reclaiming this knowledge is nothing short of revolutionary. I share my own journey of moving beyond years of talk therapy and intellect-based healing into the world of Tantra, Taoism, and science-backed somatic practices that completely transformed my relationship with my body. Together, we’ll explore what it means to feel safe in your body, how to unlock deeper levels of self-love, and why pleasure is not just about orgasm, but about nervous system regulation, healing, and wholeness. This conversation is for every woman who’s ever felt like sex was “just okay,” who’s wondered if there might be more to her experience, or who’s ready to break free of cultural conditioning and finally come home to her body. Divine Nourishment: Reclaiming Pleasure as a Spiritual Practice, a Soulful Journey Back to Your Body, Your Truth, and Your Joy.
In this episode, I dive deep into something I’m really passionate about; pleasure. Not the kind that’s marketed to us with spa packages or luxury retreats (though those can be lovely), but something even more powerful and intimate: pleasure as a healing, regenerative resource that we can cultivate and use to replenish our bodies and minds in our everyday lives. Pleasure isn’t self indulgence, or selfish, it's a sacred life-giving force. It’s how we come back to ourselves when we’ve been stretched too thin, when the world feels too loud, and when our nervous systems are fried from constant doing and over giving. It's also a portal to what is deeply true for you at your core. Today I explore how pleasure can bring your bodies back into balance and homeostasis and how pleasure is deeply tied to self-worth, boundaries, and healing the stories we’ve inherited from our lineages. Pleasure isn't something you have to earn. It’s something your body, soul, and nervous system deeply needs for health and wellbeing. And so my invitation to you is to reflect on what your own personal "pleasure jam" is, what lights you up, fills your cup, and makes you feel alive again. My intention for you today is for you to walk away with inspiration to reconnect with those little (or big) joyful things, and maybe even reframe pleasure as the most powerful wellness tool you have access to. === LINKS: === •FREE Breast Massage Meditation: www.vilates.com/free-breast-massage-meditation •Anatomy of Pleasure Masterclass Waitlist: https://www.vilates.com/priority-waitlist2025 •Website: www.vilates.com •Rebirth 1:1 coaching: https://www.vilates.com/the-rebirth-intimate-coaching •Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/vilates_/ •Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/3fs2KlkHNzICKAg2crZSMB •Apple Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-ecology-of-intimacy-podcast/id1772602980 === . . . . Somatic Liberation: Finding Safety, Sensation, and Self in a Neurodivergent Life
Join me in a beautiful, soul-nourishing conversation with Caitlin Rose, a Queer, Somatic Guide who supports Neurodivergent and Queer folks in unmasking, softening, and coming home to themselves. She doesn’t push people toward change with force or pressure. Her whole approach is rooted in deep listening, gentleness, and creating safety in the body. And as a woman in midlife who’s navigating motherhood, partnership, identity, and a lot of unlearning, this conversation really spoke to me. Especially because I’m raising neurodivergent kids, and potentially questioning my own neurodivergence. It feels like this loud, fast, overstimulating world is constantly asking us to keep up, and Caitlin is here to give us all full permission to slow all the way down, down to the pace that feels actually supportive, rather than depleting. Caitlin shares how her journey started in the sacred sexuality space, but how over time it has evolved into a somatic approach to nervous system regulation work. Her work is a deep invitation into a homecoming that grounds us into how we regulate, recalibrate, and remember our own rhythm. I just loved the way she described how liberating it feels to be in a room with other neurodivergent and queer folks and just exist in whatever way felt right. No judgment. No pressure. Just presence. It really got me thinking about how often we force ourselves to fit into a mold that doesn’t actually suit us. Especially as women, we’re taught to override our needs to be good, to be productive, to keep everyone else comfortable. Caitlin’s work offers an alternative; the perspective that true liberation starts when we stop fixing ourselves and start accepting and honouring our lived experience exactly as we really are. She’s consciously choosing slowness now. Gentleness. Spaciousness. She’s creating programs and workshops that honour neurodivergent nervous systems, rather than overwhelm them. Her upcoming offering, The Soft Return, is a 5-week online program designed specifically for queer and neurodivergent folks who want to gently come back to themselves. It’s not about fixing, it’s about remembering. Reconnecting. Reclaiming. She’s created a space where you’re not told what your truth is, but invited to discover it at your own pace, in your own way. And I don’t know about you, but I’m craving more of that. More spaces where we get to exhale. More conversations that remind us we don’t have to push or pretend. Just soften. Just come home. From Survival to Sovereignty: A Journey into Embodied Consent
In this episode, I open up about something incredibly personal, powerful, and for so many of us long overdue: self-consent and the journey of truly coming home to our bodies. We hear the word embodiment a lot these days, don’t we? But what does it actually mean to live in our bodies, rather than just in our heads? As women it’s so easy to stay in that mental checklist mode, always planning, anticipating, and caretaking while completely ignoring the messages from within. So many of us were raised to prioritise others, their comfort, their approval, even their pleasure above our own, and to ignore the discomfort in our bodies, to override our instincts, to be polite, to smile, to stay small and agreeable. Over time, that takes a toll. It erodes our ability to fully hear our “no” and therefore, understand our full, embodied “yes.” So today, I gently invite you to pause and create a micro-moment of embodied presence. These little moments may seem small, but they’re powerful. They’re tiny acts of coming back home to your body. And from that space, I began to explore a much deeper topic: consent, starting with what it means to consent to ourselves. I talk about how our early life experiences, attachment styles, and trauma responses all shape the way we show up in intimate relationships and how we often give away pieces of ourselves without realising it. I also share an incredible study from HeartMath that proves your heart can sense danger before your brain can process it. Your body knows. And it’s just waiting for you to listen. So if you've ever questioned whether your boundaries matter, if you’ve ever said yes when you really meant no, or if you’re simply curious about reconnecting with the wise, powerful woman you already are this episode is for you. The Body Remembers: Reclaiming Pleasure Beyond Patriarchy
This episode was sparked by a conversation with a friend, and it just lit a fire in me. We started talking about how little we were taught about our bodies growing up, especially in the context of pleasure. I’m a child of the ’70s, so you can imagine what sex ed looked like back then (and honestly, not much has changed). It was all about avoiding pregnancy and STIs, with barely a whisper about female anatomy, consent, pleasure & orgasms. And that silence? It's by design. We live in a culture that benefits from women not knowing the power of their own bodies. And when we don’t fully understand how our pleasure works, or even that we deserve it, it plays into broader patterns of disempowerment. Whether it’s in our sex lives, our careers, or even in medical appointments where we’re too often gaslit out of our experience. This lack of education both disadvantages and hurts us. So today, I open up about my own journey with pleasure (including learning about clitoral orgasms from an old Cosmopolitan magazine sealed section!) and share stories that might sound a little too familiar. I also talk about the incredible range of orgasmic experiences we can have, and the fact that most of us have never even been taught how or that they’re even possible. This is why I created the Anatomy of Pleasure masterclass, a six-week deep dive into the power, beauty, and science of your body. We explore everything from clitoral, G-zone, cervical, and nipple orgasms, to squirting, ejaculation, and whole-body ecstasy. This is the education we all should have had, but never got. And every single one of us deserves to have this knowledge. So if you’ve ever felt disconnected from your sensuality, unsure of your body, or just curious to explore your own pleasure on a deeper level, this episode is for you. We’re talking empowerment, embodiment, and the liberation that comes from finally understanding the magic you’ve carried all along. ✨ Doors open soon and I’d love for you to be part of this journey. Get on the waitlist here: https://www.vilates.com/priority-waitlist2025 it’s going to be a life-changing reclamation of pleasure. . . . Coming Home to Your Body: A Mother’s Journey to Healing and Intimacy, with Dr Eva Yacobi
In today’s episode, my good friend and colleague, Dr Eva Yacobi, a Functional Medicine and Naturopathic Doctor and Somatic Intimacy Coach interviews me for her podcast; Intimately Speaking. Eva has generously allowed me to share this conversation where she interviews me on my personal journey to this work. And because she’s such a dear friend, this is a deeply personal and heartfelt conversation where I open up about my journey from surviving sexual abuse to finding healing and transformation through my academic studies in Sexology and certification in Tantric Somatic Sacred Sexuality practices and Embodiment Coaching methodologies. We talk about what it really means to feel safe in your body, how self-pleasure can be a renewable, regenerative resource in your life, not just self-care, as well as the importance of body positivity and acceptance, especially for those of us navigating life after motherhood. I also share how I incorporate these principles into my children’s lives, how they’ve informed the way I engage in motherhood, and how they’ve helped me to build healthier, more open mother-child relationships when it comes to body awareness and boundaries. If you’ve ever felt disconnected from your body or intimacy, especially after having kids, this conversation is for you. This episode offers gentle, empowering insights on how we as mothers can begin to reconnect with ourselves, rediscover pleasure, and create deeper, more fulfilling intimate lives, as well as being a reminder that sexual healing isn’t just possible, it can be life-changing, not only for us, but for our families and future generations too. Just Don’t Touch Me; Conversations on Motherhood with Kate Reynolds
In this episode, I'm sharing a recent interview I did with my dear friend Kate Reynolds, a registered nurse and fellow podcast host (High Tea with Lady V) who’s refreshingly honest when it comes to women’s health. We talk about everything, from being touched out in motherhood, to how we've been conditioned from a very young age to be people pleasers, and how that shows up in our sexuality through every stage of life, from girlhood to motherhood, and even into perimenopause. Kate and I talk openly about the incredible power of female sexuality and reflect on some of the life-changing insights from Emily Nagoski’s work and some of the latest sexuality research. We chat about all different kinds of orgasms and how healing it can be to fully reconnect with our bodies. We also explore how ancient practices like Tantra and Taoism can give women a practical pathway to understanding their sexuality far beyond anything learned from sex ed in high school, as well as guiding us back to our pleasure, our self-worth, and our sense of wholeness. This isn’t about becoming someone new, but remembering who we really are beneath the layers of guilt, shame, and obligation so many of us carry. My hope is that this episode feels like a warm, honest conversation with girlfriends, one that reminds you that your pleasure, your body, and your healing matter. When Life Pauses: Navigating Surgery & Recovery in Motherhood & Intimate Life
In this episode, I’m opening up about something really personal, my upcoming spinal surgery. To be honest, I’ve been feeling a mix of fear and a tonne of vulnerability. It’s all happened so fast and it's been a lot to carry. As I’ve been processing everything, it’s made me reflect on how many of us face these unexpected life moments that we don't see coming. The ones that knock the wind out of us. And yet, somehow, we keep showing up. And I wanted to speak to that. This experience aligns so much with the postpartum period too, something so many of us quietly struggle through, with all the challenges in intimacy, the emotional shifts, and the pressure to “bounce back” when what we really need is time and understanding, so we can heal. If you’ve ever felt like you had to hold it all together, even while falling apart inside, you’re not alone. I see you. And this conversation is an invitation to honour all of the different seasons we move through, not just the joyful ones, but the tender, in-between spaces too. At the end of the episode, I guide you through a calming self-affirmation exercise. It’s something that’s helped me stay grounded, and that I'll be using myself on the long road to recovery post-surgery. I hope it offers you a moment of peace, encouragement, and the reminder that you are never alone in this journey. Erin is a trauma-informed sexuality coach, healer, and all-around wisdom keeper for women ready to reclaim their sexuality, pleasure and power. Whose Peace Are You Keeping? Reclaiming Midlife As a Radical Reorientation.
Grab yourself a cuppa and let’s dive into something that’s been on my heart lately, midlife. I’m talking about midlife, not as a crisis point, but as a radical reorientation. This is a soul-level conversation about what it really means to reach this stage of life. Because if you’re anything like me (and so many women I know), you’ve spent years putting everyone else’s needs before your own. Keeping the peace, holding it all together, making sure everyone’s okay… even if it meant you weren’t. Sound familiar? In this intimate chat, I open up about my own journey, what I’ve learned, what I’m still learning, and how this point in our lives can be an incredible portal and invitation to come home to ourselves. Midlife, especially as we move through perimenopause, is a powerful threshold. It asks us to let go of old ways of coping and to uncover what we really want, what brings us pleasure, what lights us up, and what feels truly aligned. Today I'm also sharing a little about my upcoming masterclass, The Anatomy of Pleasure, where I’ll guide you into a reorientation and rebirth into your most powerful era, filled with pleasure, connection, and self-love, AND teach you the science backed tools, practices and knowledge to get there. Because pleasure is your birthright, and it’s time we start living like we believe that.
