So we keep our feet on the ground. We don't do spiritual bypassing.We don't "love and light" the hard stuff out of existence. We're not afraid to be a downer.We go low. We feel big. We welcome the darkness. We can hang with the shadows. 56. Hi again and bye for now! The inner guidance is makin' it weird.
Hey loves! It took me a while to share this because I wanted to give myself plenty of time to make sure I knew what I was doing. I don't totally know now, but I do trust the energy that's telling me this show is complete for now. I share a final lesson about how I made this decision, how I determined whether this was actually guidance or was it me quitting on myself, how I deal with trusting my inner guidance even when it's weird, inconvenient and really uncomfortable (and it is almost always those things!) AND why I still think this is the best ride I ever signed up for. I share these things in the hopes of helping you if/ when you go through something similar. 55. Stop Worshipping Inspiration
This is not the first time I've said that inspiration is overrated (see episode 8) but I really get into more deeply in this episode. I also had my own experience recently that made it SO clear that inspiration can even be a liability. Inspiration gets a lot of hype. We tend to treat it like the magical force that makes creativity possible—the spark that finally gets us to sit down, start the project, write the thing, make the art, launch the idea. But in this episode, I'm making a slightly rebellious argument: Not only is inspiration unneccessary and overrated, but waiting around or demanding to feel it before you'll get to work? That's amateur hour. When we put inspiration on a pedestal—when we believe we need to feel inspired before we create—we accidentally make our creative work fragile. We wait. We stall. We blame the absence of that magical feeling instead of doing the thing we came here to do. And ironically, when inspiration does show up, it can make the crash even harder when the work turns out to be… well… work. In this episode we explore: • Why inspiration can sometimes become a liability • The surprising downside of waiting to "feel inspired" before creating • What actually helps you stick with your work when it gets hard • The difference between amateurs who wait for inspiration and professionals who show up regardless • How devotion, discipline, and willingness create a deeper kind of creative power We also talk about something close to my heart: the mystical side of creativity. One of the best tools I have in my kit, the best skill I've practiced and gotten really good at is that I can have a breakthrough whenever I want one. Any time, any where, I can get unstuck, feel better, and keep it movin'. And I want you to be able to do this to. Over my Christmas vacation, I was getting hemmed up in some guilt and dread. So I sat down and had a breakthrough about it in FIVE MINUTES. It was so helpful that I decided to walk you through exactly what I did and how I think about this so you can do it to. Shout out to Mary Okon (@maryokoncoaching) for asking me to share my thoughts on Self-Judgment ( I LOVE that she made this suggestion and if you have ideas, I hope you'll share them too!) [email protected] This podcast is fun and very me, in that it starts with a riff on what "judge not lest ye be judged" means. (Not a threat or ominous warning, but universal truth to free us from our own self-judgment) Then I use a real-life recent example of something I went through where my own self - judgment was coming up, and I studied how I handled it to share it with you all here. You get 3 of my favorite analogies for relating to your inner critic when it acts a fool…(SETTLE DOWN, RHONDA) And 4 questions I ask myself to help me get out of my confusion, shame, or wishy washiness when I want to make a decision that is true to ME, not a "should"… I also decided to make this episode part one, and I let you know what part 2 (coming next week), will be about. (hint: radical. joyful. Flip the script to be amazing.) 40. Be willing to rock the boat.

From knee surgery to old trauma, I unpack what happens when we stop pretending we can do it all alone, why it hurts so much to receive, and how learning to lean on others might just be the most crucial work of all. It's painful AF, but only because old wounds have kept us small and isolated. Today I'm making a case for choosing to believe in a Higher Power—call it God, or don't (but that's the vibe)— not because it's right, but because it might just be the smartest, most strategic way to make your life actually work better. I'm not here to sell you a specific God, practice, or path. I'm offering a radical reframe: Believing in something bigger than you isn't a fantasy or a crutch—it's power. It's fuel. It's resilience. It's magic and grounding and guidance, all wrapped up in one deeply personal, custom-built connection. Most importantly? It's your RIGHT to feel that connection and to have that access. And if you used to believe—but got wounded by the church or burned by religion— I especially and lovingly invite you to hang out with me in this episode. 10. The Joy and Satisfaction of DOING THE THING!

8. Inspiration and motivation are OVER RATED
Are you telling yourself you'd do the thing but you just don't feel inspired? Are you not taking action because you don't feel motivated? Then this one's for you. Those are common things we wait around for but they're actually overrated, and even unnecessary to take action and make progress towards your goals. You'll learn how to move forward when you don't feel like it, how to spot the difference between aligned effort and self-bullying, and how to generate real motivation when you want it.
