Protecting our space from negativity and teaching our children to do the same.

Protecting our space from negativity and teaching our children how to do the same. How do children and teenagers deal with negativity as they are getting older? How do we as parents protect our children from unnecessary negative situations? In this episode, we discuss if your children have a self-esteem in place that allows them to absorb negativity. We provide suggestions on how to teach them to protect their space and their spheres. As parents, we have to have open communication with our children to understand what they are going through. We have to work on the communication with our children and have them learn how to effectively communicate with the world around them. Children model the behaviors of adults. When dealing with negative situations, children will manage negative situations based on the behaviors that you’ve modeled in your own home. Teach children that the opinions of others don’t provide them the reason for their self worth and that their worthiness in the world is not based on the opinions of others. Visit The 5 Spheres of Fit at www.the5spheresoffit.comwww.the5spheresoffit.com

    Coaches, Teachers, and Sarcasm

Sarcasm derives from Greek words meaning “tearing of the flesh.” Know your audience. Sarcasm can be funny when joking around amongst friends and family. But sarcasm, and consistent sarcasm at that, can be detrimental to a child’s 5 Spheres. In this episode we talk about athletic coaches and teachers who use sarcasm or talk down to children consistently. Sarcasm, especially to a child, is not constructive and comes across as belittling and humiliating. Some children do not understand sarcastic comments and what the goal of the comment is. How is your child being impacted by a sarcastic adult in their life? What is the long term affect of being talked down to? This type of behavior affects each child’s sphere differently. Research indicates pros and cons for constant sarcasm in a child’s life. We recommend using The 5 Spheres strategy to determine if this individual has a negative impact on your child. Visit www.the5spheresoffit.com for more information and resources #5spheresoffit #5spheres #coaching #soccer #basketball #football #littleleague #youthsports #sports #parenting #paretingtips #podcast #southasiantherapist #browngirltherapy www.the5spheresoffit.com

Kids and Teens Finding Balance with The 5 Spheres of Fit Roadmap

The younger generations, Generations Z and A, have so much more thrown at them than Generation X and Baby Boomers did. Maybe it’s because the older generations dealt with challenges differently, by suppressing emotions and problems. Between school, extracurricular activities, social circles, social media, jobs, hormones, etc. most kids and teenagers find it hard to find balance in their lives, increasing anxiety and mental challenges. The 5 Spheres is a tool providing a roadmap for kids to (1) organize, (2) evaluate, and (3) problem solve? Having a tool or lifestyle strategy can only help kids/teens grow up ready to face challenges and understand the interplay between them in their lives. To purchase My 5 Spheres children's wellness book, visit Amazon. www.the5spheresoffit.com#genz #gena #generations #babyboomers #mentalhealth #balance #lifestylestrategy #socialfitness #socialhealth #lifestyle #wellness #health #5spheres #5spheresoffitwww.the5spheresoffit.com

    Meditation… it’s Magic #GoddessGlitter

Meditation… it’s Magic #GoddessGlitterPooja Karbanda is the founder of Nadii and www.nadii-wellness.com. Well respected in the spiritual community, Pooja supports mental health through meditation and mindfulness. As a young adult, Pooja persevered through multiple traumatic situations. This is when her spiritual side expressed herself and today, with meditation, she is able recognize trauma. When you are in trauma and you’re on that wave that is about to crash, are you prepared to handle the crash? In this episode we discuss the benefits of yoga, astrology, meditation, breathing exercises and other tools to help balance the mental sphere. Pooja shares the pyrite stone she is carrying and the benefits of holding crystals. How do crystals make you feel? What does “abundance” mean to you? Pooja stresses the importance of the evolution of our souls and why “we always want to be evolving”. We talk about whether we are all spiritual but for many it’s just dormant? She learned to meditate and does so daily because it calms her mind. Pooja also practices inner child work - going back to her younger self - did her soul give her a message about a specific past memory that she can learn to reprogram? Reprogramming the feelings and energy about a past memory can positively impact our future and our 5 Spheres. We continue to discuss how the planets, Mercury being in retrograde for example, and a full moon, affect our energy, our emotions and behaviors. When Mercury is in retrograde, technology issues, water leakages, ex-lovers may come back in the picture. - this backward movement of energy can also affect each of our Spheres. So, can meditation help us combat this energy? Pooja shares her knowledge and ends with describing the self block we create when focusing on negative thoughts and energy. Her goal, which we love, is to continuously spread #goddessglitter - to be open to receiving and to evolving. Meditation is subjective to YOU and Pooja explains how that is so. Learn more about Pooja and Nadii: www.nadii-wellness.comwww.the5spheresoffit.com#meditation #mentalhealth #stress #anxiety #mercury #energy #crystals #traumawww.the5spheresoffit.com

Harmony Within: Navigating Relationships and Divorce for Holistic Health

Natasha Mahtani, a certified Relationship Coach and accredited Divorce Coach, discusses the importance of engaging with a coach, not only when the relationship hits a dead end, but throughout the relationship. Relationship challenges, creating an imbalance in our social sphere, also creates a blocked energy which expresses itself in every sphere. For example, Natasha shares how the stress in a relationship can strain a women’s uterus, further creating strain on a women’s reproductive system. On top of the relationship itself, there are cultural pressures which affect both men and women. How do individuals navigate through their relationships omitting individual guilt and cultural pressures? Natasha gives us a perspective we rarely discuss… “comprehension”. We often focus on the concept of “communication” which is absolutely critical, but she explains why “comprehension” in fact is most essential in not just romantic relationships, but all relationships. We discuss the interplay between the financial sphere and the social sphere and why one reason women don’t leave relationships is because “the world is not set up that way (financially) for women”. She stresses the importance of being financial literate. Finally, Natasha shares two important practices: (1) practicing GRATITUDE which has a positive neurological response; and (2) JOURNALING which allows someone to subconsciously dig deeper into responses they may not be aware of. Links: Empower your Relationship (Journal): 12 weeks of Reflection, Connection & Growth by Natasha Mahtani (available on Amazon)Learn more about Natasha Mahtani (www.natashamahtani.com)www.the5spheresoffit.com#marriage #divorce #counseling #5spheres #relationshipcoach #stress #gratitude #journaling #financialstress #socialfitness #culturalpressure #southasian #financialfitnesswww.the5spheresoffit.com

Managing Grief... The Price We Pay For Love

Grief is the price we pay for love. In this episode we evaluate the 5 Spheres and how the interplay between them is impacted by the passing of a loved one and how you might manage that event. Not only does the passing of a loved one affect our spheres - the physical, mental, financial, social, and educational - but it’s important to check in with our spheres as often as possible to get back to balance. The grieving process, just like our 5 Spheres, is subjective. To get back to balance however it is critical to follow objective solutions. It matters that you have a plan to manage life when it comes at you unexpectedly. www.the5spheresoffit.com#grief #love #socialfitness #death #family #loss #5spheres #5spheresoffit #balance #depression #mentalhealth #fitness #physicalhealth www.the5spheresoffit.com

The 5 Spheres Roadmap When Determining Whether a Public or Private Education is Best

The 5 spheres provides a roadmap to organize, evaluate, and problem solve whether a public or private school education is the best decision for you and your child. In this episode, we discuss the importance of evaluating the 5 spheres when determining a child's educational path. The physical, mental, financial, social, and educational spheres. The financial sphere seems to be the most critical in this decision for many. Are you in a financial position to invest in a private school education for your child or are you trying to "keep up with Joneses"? What is the educational return on your investment with regards to your school of choice? We discuss the mental pressure and stress on a child from the educational curriculum as well as the want or need of a spiritual and religious component in a school. For many, considering the physical sphere is a priority as physical fitness and competitive sports may be at the forefront for the child. We also discuss the cultural and societal social pressures of choosing between a public or private school education and how succumbing to these pressures can create an imbalance in one or several spheres for you and your child. We both grew up with different experiences - one always in the public school system, and the other with a mix of a public and private school education. We share our opinions regarding our social sphere connections as well as the pressure we put on ourselves to excel. The educational sphere is at the center of this discussion as one evaluates their spheres - the return on investment in the educational sphere must be balanced with one's physical, mental, financial, and social spheres. www.the5spheresoffit.com

Finding Value in Lifestyle Strategies Like The 5 Spheres of Fit

Why are your 5 Spheres so important? What is the value of The 5 Spheres of Fit? In this episode, we discuss the interplay between the 5 Spheres - your physical, mental, financial, social, and educational spheres. The 5 Spheres strategy is holistic in nature and constantly evolves with YOU. To be the best version of yourself, you need to be holistic, balanced, and resilient. If parents don’t have a lifestyle strategy, then how will kids learn to have one? Kids are growing up these days very differently than older generations… a pandemic, nationwide gun violence, social media, and so much more. How do they navigate through this all? Do they just “wing it” like most adults do? In this episode, we share examples of how children’s spheres affect one another as well as how adults need to navigate between their spheres to get to the root of their challenges. If life is a journey, where is the roadmap? We are not telling you what roads you should take. We are telling you that the roads exist. Find the right strategy for you. #lifestyle #strategy #mentalhealth #socialhealth #fitness #physicalhealth #wellness #journeywww.the5spheresoffit.com
