I started a GLP1: How GLP1's work and What I think So Far
Today I'm opening up about a decision I never thought I’d make: starting a GLP-1. I share the full, unfiltered journey behind it. I talk through my initial fear and judgment, what finally shifted my perspective, and why I chose to use this as a tool in this season of my life despite being a coach. I break down what GLP-1s actually are and how they work, while also diving into the realities of fat loss, muscle and bone health, and the importance of using this tool responsibly. My life, body, and priorities have changed over the past year, and I want to talk about why fat loss feels different for me right now, and what I’ve learned from both my own experience and my clients. We get into the biggest misconceptions, how to approach this in a healthy and sustainable way, and why building habits, understanding nutrition, and strength training matter more than ever. I also talk about the shame and stigma surrounding this topic, especially for women, and why I believe we need more honest conversations like this.Join my community:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/christyleefit/Need help with your goals in 2026? How to lose fat if you're neurodivergent
In this episode, I’m getting real about a tough week, experimenting with coming off medication, and how that experience sparked a deeper conversation around navigating fat loss with a neurodivergent brain. I share my own journey with anxiety, ADHD, OCD tendencies, and sobriety, and why “just be consistent” advice doesn’t work for so many of us. We dive into practical, realistic systems that actually support follow-through, like building lists that work with your brain, simplifying meal planning, using your calendar effectively, leaning on support, and focusing on small, momentum-building wins instead of all-or-nothing thinking. If you’ve ever felt frustrated trying to stay consistent with fitness or fat loss, this episode will help you feel seen, and give you tools to finally work with your brain instead of against it.Join my community:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/christyleefit/Need help with your goals in 2026? What I wish we were taught in sex ed
Growing up in the South, so much of my experience around puberty, sexuality, and relationships was rooted in shame, fear, and abstinence-only messaging, and I’m unpacking how that shaped my body image, beliefs about pleasure, and understanding of STIs, consent, and self-worth. We talk about real anatomy (yes, including the clitoris), why pleasure doesn’t cancel out self-respect, how consent can change at any time, and why your sexual choices have nothing to do with your morality. This episode is about normalizing conversations around sex, dismantling shame, and creating a more confident, empowered relationship with your body and your desires.Join my community:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/christyleefit/Need help with your goals in 2026? How a Friends With Benefits Relationship Helped Me Heal
Have you ever felt torn between what you want and what you’ve been taught you should want? Today I’m sharing an honest, unfiltered conversation about pushing past fear, deprogramming sexual shame, and why saying “fuck it, let’s see what happens” completely changed my life. I talk about how a friends-with-benefits experiment unexpectedly turned into a beautiful relationship, why women are taught to feel shame around desire, and how to start questioning the beliefs you’ve inherited about sex, love, and being a “good girl.” If you feel like you have to be fully healed or perfectly confident before entering a relationship, listen to today's episode to learn how real growth often only happens when another person is there to help trigger it. This is a rambling, vulnerable, no-notes chat about sexuality, self-trust, and letting relationships be a place where healing actually happens.Join my community:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/christyleefit/Need help with your goals in 2026? Should I be living the soft life?
Let's talk about the tension between grind culture and the soft life. I share my honest thoughts on goals, femininity, pushing yourself, and why I believe the pendulum has swung too far in both directions and how real growth lives in the nuance. We talk about fitness, confidence, body image, and what it actually means to listen to yourself while still doing hard things. If you’ve ever felt confused about whether you should rest or push, be soft or go all in, this episode is my perspective on creating a balanced, intentional life that actually works for you.Join my community:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/christyleefit/Need help with your goals in 2026? I was so scared to restart my fitness journey
Last January, I was scared to even set goals. I didn’t trust myself to follow through. I was coming out of a divorce, living alone for the first time, and feeling disconnected from my body and confidence. And yet… that January changed my life.In this episode, I walk you through:Why setting goals feels terrifying when you’ve let yourself down beforeHow confidence is built before the transformation, not afterThe exact systems I used to stay consistent when motivation wasn’t thereWhy courage doesn’t feel empowering (and why that’s normal)How to approach January without pressure to “reinvent yourself,” but still move forwardThis is part pep talk, part practical strategy, and part reminder that you are not broken, you just need systems that actually support you.Join my community:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/christyleefit/Need help with your goals in 2026? What to do when you're starting over in life
I’m opening up about the real, emotional, and practical challenges of starting over after life throws you off course—like it did for me when I went through a divorce at 36. After a viral Instagram video about my journey resonated with so many, I felt called to record this episode to speak directly to anyone in that raw, rebuilding phase. I share my own story of grief, how society sets us up to expect a perfect, linear life, and why it's crucial to give yourself space to mourn before you start to rebuild. You'll also hear my go-to tips for getting through those early days: I’ll talk about the little things that made a big difference for me—like creating a cozy, personal space, starting small self-care routines, and keeping my body moving even when it was hard. Plus, I’ll share how focusing on my fitness helped rebuild my confidence and why my Glow Up Challenge is designed to help you do the same—by combining mental health and fitness in a way that feels doable when you’re overwhelmed. If you’re in the thick of it, this episode is here to remind you: rebuilding is messy, non-linear, but you are strong enough to do it, step by step.Join my community:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/christyleefit/Need help with your goals this year? Am I too sensitive? Embrace life as an HSP with Grace Kirkley
In today's conversation, I sat down with Grace Kirkley to explore how our nervous system influences everything from our stress responses to our ability to reach goals like weight loss, business growth, or just feeling better day to day. We talked about the “attic and basement” analogy for hyper- and hypo-arousal states, and how recognizing when we’re dysregulated is the first step toward real, lasting change. Grace shared tools to bring ourselves back into a regulated state—like movement, grounding, and breathwork—and emphasized the importance of self-awareness and curiosity over judgment. We dug into common coping mechanisms like scrolling or emotional eating, and how those often stem from unmet needs like safety or connection. What really stood out to me was the idea that instead of pushing harder when we’re overwhelmed, the most effective thing we can do is pause, regulate, and return with more clarity. This episode was such a powerful reminder that building a better life starts with tuning into our bodies, honoring our emotions, and choosing self-compassion over hustle.Connect with Grace: https://www.instagram.com/gracekirkleycoaching/Join my community:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/christyleefit/Need help with your goals this year? The Big Chop: Breaking the Rules and Redefining yourself with Melissa Knowles
Has pressure to fit into certain beauty standards or a specific way of presenting yourself kept you from living out your authenticity? On today’s episode, I have a candid conversation about breaking out of the box with TV personality Melissa Knowles. Over the past two decades, Melissa has built an impressive career as a CNN newscaster, a regular co-host on Morning Express with Robin Meade, a sideline reporter for the Super Bowl, and now, as the creator and producer of her own YouTube channel.Melissa opens up about the pressures she faced growing up, particularly around beauty standards within the Black community, and how she learned to embrace her natural curly hair as a symbol of pride. Feeling Trapped in Corporate America: How to Live Authentically Beyond Societal Norms
Today's episode is a bit nerve-wracking for me as I delve into a topic I've avoided discussing deeply online: my experience transitioning from a progressive community out West to my return to Georgia. Back in Utah, I lived in a vibrant, sex-positive, rave scene community. Now, in Atlanta, I feel like a bull in a China shop, struggling to find my place in a culture that seems more reserved. I've realized how easy it is to feel trapped in societal expectations, especially for women. This episode is a call to break free from the all-or-nothing mindset, to infuse our lives with small pleasures, and to prioritize our well-being. It's time to reclaim our wildness and live authentically, without feeling trapped in the daily grind. Let's start embracing life with a sense of adventure and joy.If this + losing weight are things you want to work on this spring, you may be interested in my program that is currently open for enrollment: The Glow Up Mastermind! Do you have to eat clean to lose weight?
If you've ever felt overwhelmed by all the conflicting advice online about weight loss and self-improvement, then this episode is for you. I'm going to specifically talk about whether you need to strictly adhere to "eating clean" to lose weight. TLDR: No, and I'm going to explain why. Instead, take a listen to hear my argument for why tracking calories is more important to losing the weight and keeping it off. But hear me out: I do and will ALWAYS advocate for a balanced approach to nutrition: moderation and feeling empowered in your choices are key in your weight loss journey so that you can lose weight without being miserable. If this sounds like relief to you, you may be interested in my program that is currently open for enrollment: The Glow Up Mastermind! What I learned in 2023 (for better or for worse)
All too often, we let another year pass without truly taking the time to reflect back on the year we just finished, fixating instead on the upcoming year and all we want out of it. We grew up learning in school how to analyze and write essays on history and the books we read, but now that we're older, we forget to use these very same skills to get more out of our own lives and to truly appreciate what went right. And trust me, I get it - It can be scary, because it might mean having to face a few areas in our lives that maybe we need to own up to and change. Want to do it together? Join me in this episode where I look back and go through some key lessons I took away from this past year, including:The importance of restChoosing trustworthy relationshipsThe role of familyThe value of embracing the mundane moments in lifeSign up for the 6 Week Glow Up Challenge for only $88! Starts Jan 22: https://mailchi.mp/christyleefit/glow-up-challenge-2Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/christyleefit/
