#183: Who Told You That- You Are Great

On today's podcast episode, Dr. Cheryl Hardy is reminding you that you are great. Who told you that you are not a good person or that you are defined by your struggles? Do not accept that false narrative as your reality. You are a work in progress and a precious jewel on this earth, purposefully designed by God. We must remain vigilant against those who attempt to undermine our success or set us up for failure. Do not let anyone steal your daily joy. When negative thoughts arise, acknowledge them, let them pass, and immediately replace them with positive affirmations. It is never acceptable for parents, family, or friends to resort to mockery or name-calling; such behavior damages the body, mind, and spirit. That burden is too heavy to carry alone, so let us choose to lead with the fruit of the Spirit—love and kindness—starting today. We are looking forward to you being a part of the God and Therapy Community. #181: Let's Talk About Grief - What's in your grief case?

Today we are talking about grief—an emotion we often dismiss, assuming it should only last for a short period. That is far from the truth. Grief is an enduring experience, and it is so important to feel, deal, and heal. This conversation explores feelings, life, suicide, and the different types of grief, including ambiguous grief, delayed grief, anticipatory grief, and normal grief. We also discuss why corporate America typically grants only three days of bereavement leave, often failing to account for the loss of a friend, aunt, cousin, or emotional support pet. We also highlight the reality of caregiver grief. Additionally, Dr. Kence highlights the Fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22-23, reminding us that kindness is something needed every day and everywhere. Since this is one of our longest episodes, please share your thoughts and comments. Feel free to share where you are listening from by emailing us at [email protected]. What is armor? Well, beautiful people, it's your covering that will prevent injury to your body. The enemy tries to attack us spiritually quite often, and being covered and prepared with God in your life will help you to stand. We are not wrestling against flesh and blood. However, we wrestle against the principalities, powers, and rulers of darkness that try to take us out.  So, we must stand prepared with the gospel of peace. As we prepare to explore this topic, she invites you to consider the following sensory perspectives: Regarding vision and hearing, do you truly see and hear those around you? In terms of touch and scent, she encourages you to reflect on how you feel about your interactions and whether you notice the subtle aromas in your environment. On this episode, Dr. Cheryl Hardy talks about grief. Grief is an emotion that everyone will face in this beautiful journey of life. It's okay to allow yourself to feel the grief and let it flow through your body as you process and deal with the feeling.   We suffer from so many different types of loss, and how we manage our emotions and monitor them is important. So many people run from grief and sadness while living in denial, as the delayed grief races through their mind and body.  Allow yourself to feel the loss of opportunity, the loss of a job, the loss of partnerships, and the loss of marriage, and yes, it can happen to anyone. As you face the sadness of life, take the time to caress and nurture the grief as you learn that grief is normal, grief is real, and it's a lifetime journey. Today, choose to embrace the loss and nurture the feelings. It's okay not to be ok. Believe that God will make it work for you. On today's podcast episode, Dr. Cheryl Hardy is walking us through a review of our mouth, mind, and motive. The language people are using these days is a little too much for anyone's ears to hear. While walking down the street, the young as well as the old are sharing a mouthful of curse words. According to the scripture in Matthew 12:36 (NIV) "But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken" Not only do our words have power, but they can travel literally to heaven. In today's podcast episode, Dr. Cheryl Hardy is sharing an excerpt from Sarah Young all about everlasting love. Have you ever considered that God's love can outlast everything, anything, and all things? This is so powerful to know: that before we were in our mother's wound, God knew it all. So if you sit and think about it, it is impossible to process the power of God from time to time. Everlasting is indeed what it says; it is a lasting love that man will not give or can muster up. The God we serve is all-powerful, so I will advise you on this wonderful day to serve Him and invite Him into your personal world.  Take today to honor and respect this everlasting God. In today's podcast episode, Dr. Cheryl Hardy, asks us this question: Who are you? Do you love yourself in a godly way? Do you love God? How well do you trust God today? Let's do a personal assessment on the real person inside. Do you know how to sit still and see the salvation of the Lord? There will be many times the mind will wander to and from trying to find rest for your weary soul. So sit still and relax while enjoying your life, and explore the beauty of God within you. Self-care is taking care of your body, eating well, and sleeping well. It is also making sure you do the simple things in life. For example, looking at the beautiful trees and enjoying the sunshine.  You are worth it.  So sit down today and examine: who am I, and how can I partner with God and his greatness?
