WOVXN Motherhood: Suzanne Spencer + Mindset

In today's episode, Interwovxn welcomes Suzanne Spencer. Suzanne knows a thing or two about when the script of life changes. She spent a decade as a TV news reporter and anchor in Milwaukee — someone used to delivering the story. Then in 2021, she was diagnosed with a brain tumor and became the story. She’d go on to have brain surgery while becoming a first-time mom. She went from the delivery room, to the operating room, and came out on the other side with a new perspective on what it means to keep going. Now, Suzanne delivers keynotes to audiences across the country helping them move forward when the script changes by turning setbacks into growth and possibility. Today, Suzanne brings that same energy to us, walking us through why mindset matters, and gives us one practical trick to check — and shift — our own. To learn more about Suzanne:Suzanne SpencerIGYouTubeLinkedInAt Interwovxn, we believe women’s health should never feel rushed, overlooked, or one-size-fits-all. WOVXN Motherhood: Emotional Dissonance

In this episode, Theresa talks about one of her favorite topics, emotional dissonance. It's how we experience two seemingly contradictory emotions at the same time and motherhood is full of those moments. It's how mothers feel one way but work to show the world outside of them a different version. It's loving your child and motherhood but grieving parts of your former life. We are giving each other permission to feel all of the feelings. For more about Theresa: InterwovxnIGThis episode is supported by The Mood Food Method. WOVXN Motherhood: What Is Motherhood Support?

In today's episode, Theresa shares her perspective on what motherhood support is versus what it could be. How instead of frontloading support before and immediately following birth we can look for more ways to provide continued support throughout motherhood. In today's episode Clara Healing Institute founder and clinical director Kristin Belkofer hosts a group of women to talk about life with ADHD. Kristin breaks down the diagnosis and the experience lived by many women, easing the stigma through greater understanding. She frames ADHD as a spectrum that can change with support over a lifetime and not a deficit or disorder, that it is about modulation and regulating, and a type of brain structure. Our circle of women shares what ADHD means to them as mothers, entrepreneurs, and women in middle life. They talk about the process of unmasking ADHD, how it is often missed in women, how it presents differently in men vs. women, the relationship to anxiety and depression, diagnosis later in life, and what they label means to them. Clara Healing InstituteIGJenna KashouIGJobea MurrayIGKrista McCainIGNydia Maurás-JonesLinkedInthe INTERWOVXN podcast is hosted and produced by Theresa Kopac + Rebecca Jankowski. audio EDITING and MIXING: Theresa Kopacdesign and NEWSLETTER: Rebecca JankowskiMUSIC: Gina Barrington of Rose of the Westbackground cover ART: Mary Osmundsensubscribe to our NEWSLETTER and get our free WOVXN Wellness Guides @interwovxn.comWith this project, we are creating space for women to share their stories. The moms share their own experiences, questions, and challenges, creating a rich dialogue that touches on age-appropriate language, why using correct anatomical terms matters, how gender is nuanced, and how to move through common parental fears.
