The Duo of Peace and Chaos

Peace and chaos are interesting partners. While we may dislike being in chaos when it's pushed upon us, it sparks inner growth and transformation in ways we may not have chosen outwardly. At the same time, peace is a place within that can always be reached - however - we have to make time and space for it, and be present to truly experience it. On the latest episode of the Flirting With Enlightenment Podcast, I talk about how chaos (also the creative spark) is simply a part of life, and the ways it can open us up to true change. I also share insights on how cultivating inner peace is key to helping us become more aware of what we really need, when, and how to approach it in a way that truly honors our spirit. When one state of being takes over the other, we can become imbalanced and live in a state of fear and limiting thoughts disconnected from our bodies, or simply avoid dealing with life because we are afraid if will disrupt our peace.

    The Impact of Personal Filters

The way we move through life starts with what we are willing to hear, see and listen to, and why we choose to do so. At the same time, the impact of personal filters can change over time - and should - as we learn, more clearly understand, gain experience and wisdom and, most importantly, connect with others who share their experiences and insight to help us understand new perspectives. On this episode of the Flirting With Enlightenment podcast, I talk about the impact of personal filters on the way we see everything in life; how it can silently determine our actions and emotional state, the way we treat others and how we receive love, joy and good into our lives, too.

Stepping Up Energy and What It Means To You

What does the phrase stepping up mean to you? Take action? Work harder? Take responsibility? Do more? Or does it also mean taking a beat? Getting clearer on desires, skills and areas of healing? Finding what truly aligns with your personal needs, wants and ideals, and then operating from that pace and place? In my opinion, it’s all of the above - and more. On this episode of the Flirting With Enlightenment podcast, I talk about the general vibe of stepping up energy, and how it’s often misused and misunderstood. I also discuss the ways you can trick yourself into continuing with a limited mindset and outlook, while simultaneously beating yourself up. Lastly, I talk about stepping up to love yourself more authentically and fully, and seeing emotional release and surrender as a positive tool, not a weakness to be endured or changed. So how do you want to define the energy of stepping up in the context of your own life and actions?

Dealing With the Unexpected While Taking Self Care

The art of dealing with the unexpected while taking self care is a lifelong, uneven dance. Listening With Love While Actively Changing Patterns and Behaviors

Listening with love is not something that always comes naturally. It’s a practice - a way of being that evolves as we do, and influences how we actively change our patterns and behaviors as we grow. While much time and energy is often focused on forcing change, beating ourselves up or wishing things were different, listening with love is a simple, powerful tool that does something very unique - it invites us to hear differently. It helps us notice when old patterns are holding us back, when we are being needlessly mean to ourselves, when fear is taking over, and when new energy is inviting us to change. Tips, insights and more, on the podcast.

Exciting and Scary May Feel the Same, So Can you Tell the Difference?

Exciting and scary may feel the same in a physical way. The general vibe, sensations and physical reactions can have the same impact on the body, emotions and mind, leaving us a bit confused or mixed up in the process. Is it time to be afraid? Or is it time to celebrate the fact something we’ve been wanting and waiting for is happening - even if it’s in a way we didn’t expect? In essence, this is what occurs in the mind and heart when dealing with a creative block. We can feel overwhelmed, unsure or afraid - muddling our clarity and shutting down our momentum. On the latest Flirting with Enlightenment podcast, I talk about how “exciting” and “scary” may feel the same, and how to dig a little deeper to learn to tell the difference. I also share insights on how we often build up the reasons why our fears should stay instead of stepping forward into change, and digging into where some fears might have originated in the first place.

Why It's Good Self-Care to Revisit Passions and Goals

When you think about lifelong passions and goals, what thoughts and feelings come to mind? Do you feel on track? Judge yourself because you feel far from reaching them? Missed one big goal, so you kind of gave up? Or are you a more go with the flow kind of person, and just slip into a passive role as life flows on by?None if these answers are “right” or “wrong”. And none of these answers mean you are missing out, or knocking it out of the park. On the latest episode of the Flirting With Enlightenment podcast I talk about why it's good self-care to revisit your lifelong passions and goals, tips to open up a dialogue with your heart, and why realigning with what is true for you now is key to the success of us all.

  15. 133

Honoring Your Humanness When Life Feels Overwhelming

There is no road map to being human. It’s something we live into and discover as we go. So why do we as humans think we can control it all? That if we just do everything “right” then we won’t have to deal with the messiness of life or unexpected situations? Maybe get ahead of the emotional impact and avoid it? On the latest podcast I talk about staying grounded when things get crazy, and why honoring our humanness during these times, instead of judging or "escaping" is so important. I also talk about how owning the emotion of our experiences fully is what takes us from focusing on the tragedy of it, and instead, telling a story of empowerment. Tips, insights, a bit of my personal story and more - on the episode.

Inner Knowing, Growing, and Understanding the Difference Between Performing and Being Energy

Being able to tell the difference between when someone is "performing" and being their natural selves can be tricky. On the latest episode of the Flirting With Enlightenment podcast, I talk about the difference between performing and being energy, and how to recognize when you are using it as an empowering tool vs hiding behind it. I also share examples on how to notice when you, or others, are performing rather than being true to the heart, situation, and what needs to be acknowledged in order to heal and grow. In addition, I share reasons why behavioral tendencies of performing vs being can impact health, self-esteem and self-care, and how to shift towards more self-supportive habits.

  17. 131

    Turn Neutrality Into a Superpower

The energy of neutrality is often underestimated as a superpower. It’s “nothingness” vibe takes us from a place where we are stuck in our patterns, fears, expectations and “shoulds”, and places us firmly in an energy of presence, deep connection with what we feel, know and want - with clarity. Yet, with the fast pace of life we don’t feel we have time to take a beat, or a breath, and step into a neutral space to sense what we really want and need before taking decisive action. We can also feel rushed at every turn, as if we have no space to contemplate or process key information before making big decisions. Or, we habitually make the same small choices over and over keeping us in a rut we desperately want to break, but we feel unclear how to even start. On this episode of the Flirting With Enlightenment podcast, I talk about the essence of neutrality as an energy, why it’s important, key ways it serves the mind, body and soul, and why it’s one of the most powerful skills we can develop.

  18. 130

Exploring Gratitude for Challenges and Missteps

It’s not easy to explore and connect with gratitude for challenges and missteps, especially if we continue to carry the sting with us as regret or anger. On this episode of the Flirting With Enlightenment podcast, I talk about the power of the stories we tell ourselves. When we mentally review them over and over and focus on how things are challenging, hard, or ways we “messed up”, it becomes habitual. Soon it’s hard to tell if we are operating from a place of truth, or just branching out from the same story that focuses on the challenges and missteps of life, rather than an intuitive decision-making place. It also helps us cling to a story out of fear or self-doubt of change. I also discuss why it’s important to sit with emotions and experiences before jumping directly to positive story or platitude. Part of why we are on the planet is to have human experiences, and experiencing a range of emotions is all part of our growth. If we let the mind jump into explaining all the reasons why something is or isn’t true, we are allowing it to guide a heart-specific process and explain our feelings to us, rather than actually feeling the truth of them.I also share insights and tips to help you manage day to day and reach a more balanced mindset.

  19. 129

Finding Gifts and Empowerment in Loss

Everyone experiences loss at some point. Grief and emotional release are a natural part of the process, and so is transformation - taking what is no longer true and growing as a result. On this episode of the Flirting With Enlightenment podcast, I talk about the energy of loss as part of the creative and personal development cycle, and how we can find both empowerment and gifts within the experience to shape our path forward.

  20. 128

The Trap of Valuing Appearances More Than Ourselves

It’s easy to diminish the power of our own value and gifts when we focus more on what things look like than the actual truth "behind the curtain". Yet, as a society, our personal value is often rooted in gaining external validation and impacted by the fear of being judged, rejected, fear of being our true selves, and taking the reactions of others - who are dealing with their own fears and hangups - to heart. On this episode of the Flirting With Enlightenment podcast, I discuss how we can easily fall into the trap of feeling less than for various reasons, and continue to live out old patterns that keep us in a space of never feeling enough. Listen for insights and tips to explore how you can step out of old limiting mental and emotional patterns and move towards deeper self-understanding, compassion and growth.

  21. 127

Navigating the Dance Between Commitment and Fear

Navigating the dance between commitment and fear to build a truthful, happy life is multi-layered. We have the aspects of ourselves that make us afraid to commit for various reasons. At the same time, we may stay committed to doing things a certain way out of habit, even though it no longer serves us and, in a way, keeps us from aligning with healthy commitment patterns. On the latest episode of the Flirting With Enlightenment podcast, I talk about the energy of commitment and how we connect with it, how fear can sometimes get in the way of noticing or creating healthy goals to commit to, and the ways our personal boundaries can help or hinder maintaining a flexible, realistic balance of commitment energy consistently.

  22. 126

Knowing, Feeling and Living Your Personal Value

We all experience times when our personal value comes into question or feels diminished. Maybe it’s with a specific person, circumstance or a miscommunication, but you walk away feeling unseen, misunderstood or marginalized. And it’s a pattern. What makes it a hard pattern to turn around is that we often attribute not feeling valued to the specific person, circumstance, or miscommunication, even though it happens. A LOT.In truth, what we are really missing is clarity around why we are unable to value ourselves. On the latest episode of the Flirting With Enlightenment podcast, I talk about the roots of what our true intrinsic value is, and isn’t, and ways the external world can influence that delicate inner balance. I also offer suggestions to shift perspective away from how the outside world erodes our sense of inner identification and value, and why it’s so important for us to practice going inward to really see and sense the truth of who we are - outside of money, recognition, fame and more.

Taking Risks and Building the New

Risk levels are closely tied to our beliefs and what we value. There’s something very powerful about embracing change without knowing where it’s taking you exactly, and understanding how the power of staying present helps us build skills to always stay connected to the truth in our heart and soul.

  26. 122

Releasing What We Believe About What We Deserve - Both The Good and Bad

On the latest episode of The Flirting With Enlightenment podcast, I talk about the energy of deserving, and how the structure we’ve created in our mind from a young age around our right to deserve, or not deserve, plays a huge role in our life experience. Often we need to release a lot of feelings, perceptions, and fears around what we deserve before we can create a personal neutrality around it as a concept, or in other words, not labeling an outcome as good or bad. I also offer tips to shift your perception, and rebuild a new foundation about the idea of deserving from a place of clarity and confidence.

Power of Doing a Personal Value Review

What you value directly impacts your attitude, motivation to create, and overall mindset. This is a good thing, if what you value is being honored and in alignment with what you want for your life. If not, you can feel off, unhappy and unfulfilled. On the latest episode of the Flirting With Enlightenment podcast, I talk about the power of doing a personal value review and how it can help us to connect with what we really desire to create, while releasing values that no longer resonate or support your personal path forward. I also share specific questions and insights to guide you on doing a personal value review to enhance your inner understanding and self-care.

Signs and How We Assign Them Meaning

The signs you see in your life can come in all shapes and forms, but how you assign those signs a meaning is what counts. It’s also the easiest way to make yourself crazy and stuck in mental loops, instead of sitting in presence and appreciation to see what a sign has to offer intuitively. Which is why it’s so important to examine the different types of signs you notice, and how you process the information that comes with it for yourself. On the latest episode of the Flirting With Enlightenment podcast, I talk about how signs serve your spiritual path and practice, and help you transform from the inside out based on how you view them. I also touch on how personal life experience I’ve had with signs, and ways to work with the insights you get personally from a clear, grounded place.

Crown Chakra: Gateway to Higher Consciousness

On the latest episode of the Flirting With Enlightenment podcast, I cover insights and details about the crown chakra, and the specific role it serves as part of our inner chakra system. I also offer ways to tell if the energy in the crown chakra is flowing at a healthy speed, and specifics on how it works in tandem with other chakras to create the state of our self awareness and self growth. In addition, I share simple ways to help balance all the chakras to feel more connected and grounded in the physical body, while our energetic self opens up to all of the possibilities waiting out there in the universe. Last, but not least, I include some self-inquiry points to help dig deeper into understanding how the crown chakra may be impacting our state of health and well-being. As a representation of creative infinity and rebirth, the crown chakra reminds us we are so much more than what we see and feel with our 3rd dimensional senses. We are forever linked with the cosmos, if we let ourselves connect with the possibilities available within the universe.

Shoulds and Getting Ready to Level Up in Life

On the latest episode of the Flirting With Enlightenment podcast, I talk about how when we consciously, or subconsciously, decide it’s time to level up in life, we become challenged in different ways. Feelings of chaos, friction, impatience, boredom and more can make us believe we’ve made the wrong choice, doubting our ability and direction. It can also put us in a position to face what we fear in order to get past it for good. These types of fears and patterns reveal themselves when next-level living is inviting us to express ourselves in new and different ways. During the podcast I also discuss the interesting ways emotions can arise and toss us into protection mode, blocking the ability to see our feelings as a conduit to release old emotional patterns holding us back. Lastly, I share questions to create clarity, inspiration, and dismantle the “should talk” that keeps us from moving forward with confidence.
