    026: Patterns with Sophie

A reflection on the patterns that keep practitioners stuck — not because they aren’t working hard enough, but because they haven’t been shown what actually drives growth in a practice. In this episode, I step back and reflect on patterns emerging across conversations with Eir Atla, Shelly Haas, Dr. Terry Daunter, Manta Landerman, and Arlana Tanner — practitioners navigating different stages of business, but facing many of the same underlying challenges. What we explored:• Pattern 1: Why more effort doesn’t equal more results — and the importance of taking the right action• Pattern 2: The gap between depth of work and clarity of business (especially for visionaries)• Pattern 3: Why this work is not just a business — and the responsibility that comes with it• Pattern 4: The “garden vs hunting” model of growth and the foundations required for traction• Pattern 5: How credibility is built through specificity, mastery, and real resultsWhen the foundations of a business aren’t clear, practitioners don’t just struggle — they burn out trying to make something work that was never properly built to support them.Sophie’s links:👁️ Book a Behind the Practice Podcast Conversation: https://calendly.com/sophiecampise/podcast-interview-ren-behind-the-practice👁️ How I help you: bio.site/ren.wellbeing👁️ Follow along on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ren.wellbeing/👁️ Everything else: https://www.ren-wellbeing.com/🤍

What we explored:• Why one-size-fits-all business strategies break down for practitioners• The gap between vision and execution for intuitive, service-driven founders• How over-delivering and building “too advanced” offers can stall growth• The shift from funnels to trust-building in today’s online landscape• Navigating confusion, regret, and rebuilding confidence after bad business adviceWhen business is built on someone else’s blueprint instead of your client’s reality, it creates confusion — not traction.Shelly’s links:→ Free Easeful Eating Audio Series: https://www.shellyhaas.com/EEAudioSeriesOptIn→ Easeful Eating Program: https://www.shellyhaas.com/easeful-eating-program→ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/shelly.haas.7/→ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/shellyhaas/Sophie’s links:👁️ Book a Behind the Practice Podcast Conversation: https://calendly.com/sophiecampise/podcast-interview-ren-behind-the-practice👁️ How I help you: bio.site/ren.wellbeing👁️ Follow along on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ren.wellbeing/👁️ Everything else: https://www.ren-wellbeing.com/🤍

What we explored:• What building (and losing) a wellness center revealed about business foundations• Why practitioners struggle with credibility in an unregulated industry• The role of community, collaboration, and face-to-face connection in business growth• How over-research and over-planning can delay real momentum• Why clarity and business skill are separate from clinical or healing skillWhen practitioners try to build alone, they often get stuck — not because their work lacks value, but because the structure and support needed to grow a business are missing.Arlana's links:→ We Wellness Directory: https://www.wewellness.directory/→ Website: https://www.arlana.ca/Sophie’s links:👁️ Book a Behind the Practice Podcast Conversation: https://calendly.com/sophiecampise/podcast-interview-ren-behind-the-practice👁️ How I help you: bio.site/ren.wellbeing👁️ Follow along on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ren.wellbeing/👁️ Everything else: https://www.ren-wellbeing.com/🤍

What we explored:• Pattern #1: Broken trust in the coaching industry — and the real impact of overpromising and under-delivering• Pattern #2: Being a beginner in business (even when you’re advanced in your craft) — and why competency is domain-specific• Pattern #3: Financial stability as a strategy — not a failure — during the startup phase• Pattern #4: The social media growth myth — why more content doesn’t automatically lead to more clientsThe practitioners I’ve spoken with aren’t struggling because their work lacks value — they’re struggling because the bridge between their gifts and the people who need them is still being built. All episodes linked directly below the show notesSophie’s links:👁️ Book a Behind the Practice Podcast Conversation: https://calendly.com/sophiecampise/podcast-interview-ren-behind-the-practice👁️ How I help you: bio.site/ren.wellbeing👁️ Follow along on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ren.wellbeing/👁️ Everything else: https://www.ren-wellbeing.com/🤍

008: Tam Dillon — Why Practitioners Need Better (Not More) Systems

A conversation about building a sustainable practice without overcomplicating the "vehicle" that’s meant to carry your work. This one goes deep into the tension so many practitioners feel around systems, structure, visibility, and the quiet resentment that can build when the business side starts draining the mission. In this episode, I’m joined by Tam Dillon, a mentor, educator, and founder of the Yogic Tarot System, who supports practitioners in building ethical, sustainable, professional paths rooted in depth, integrity, and real-world business support. What we explored:Why success is better measured by value created than by bank balance aloneWhy practitioners often resist systems and structure — and how to build ones that actually fit youThe specific ways Tam simplified her business in 2025, especially around content and onboardingWhy staying lean and simple at the beginning is often the smartest path to long-term flowHow comparison and imposter syndrome quietly block practitioners from building momentumThe real cost if practitioners can’t get their businesses to work: burnout, loss of purpose, and a world that loses access to needed medicineYou do not need more clutter, more platforms, or more pressure to perform. 007: Patterns with Sophie

Every few conversations on Ren: Behind the Practice, I’m going to pause and zoom out to look at the patterns emerging across the interviews. Even though each practitioner has a different modality and path, certain themes keep surfacing once you start connecting the dots. This episode idea actually came from Heather Schirle in Episode 3, who suggested that it might be helpful to periodically reflect on what’s showing up across the conversations. What we explored:Pattern #1: Practitioners were trained to serve — not to build businessesDeeply skilled practitioners often aren’t taught how to build something sustainable. So they chase tactics instead of laying foundations.Pattern #2: Visibility feels deeply uncomfortable for many practitionersIt’s not “marketing” they hate — it’s performative visibility. Conversation-based visibility tends to feel much more aligned.Pattern #3: Practitioners struggle to explain work that creates intangible resultsThe outcomes are real, but hard to describe. Messaging gets easier when it connects directly to clear pain points + dream outcomes. If any of these patterns resonate with you, it doesn’t mean you’re doing something wrong. It usually means you’re building something meaningful in an environment where the guidance hasn’t caught up yet — which is exactly why these conversations matter.**All episodes linked directly below the show notes**Sophie’s links:👁️ Book a Behind the Practice Podcast Conversation: https://calendly.com/sophiecampise/podcast-interview-ren-behind-the-practice👁️ Learn more about Ren: https://www.ren-wellbeing.com/👁️ Follow along on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ren.wellbeing/👁️ Everything else: bio.site/ren.wellbeing🤍

006: Claudia Markovic — Holding the Identity of a Leader

A conversation about building a foundation for your business, launching from embodied leadership, and learning to hold the identity of who you’re becoming — even when old stories try to pull you back.In this episode, I’m joined by Claudia Markovic, an embodiment facilitator and founder of Spiral Into Magic, who works with entrepreneurs to strengthen embodied discernment so their inner authority becomes steady and alive. We explore what it really looks like to build a business rooted in self-trust — and what happens internally when you step into a bigger vision. What we explored:The shift from practitioner → entrepreneur (and why most of us never planned to become business owners)How Claudia’s 10+ year journey through Qigong and embodiment shaped the foundation of her workVisibility as real work: the emotional labor behind posts, launches, and holding authorityThe hardest part: owning the identity of a leader without collapsing back into old beliefsTrauma, worthiness, and the fear of being “too big” or “too important”Why seeing others with a similar message is validation — not competitionThe deeper leadership edge: coming together as autonomous leaders instead of isolatingSustainable leadership isn’t about never falling — it’s about getting back on the horse, refining, and continuing to serve your pocket of people with clarity and courage.Claudia's Links:→ Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/2749477742036081Sophie's Links:👁️ Book a Behind the Practice Podcast Conversation: https://calendly.com/sophiecampise/podcast-interview-ren-behind-the-practice👁️ Learn more about Ren: https://www.ren-wellbeing.com/👁️ Follow along on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ren.wellbeing/👁️ Everything else: bio.site/ren.wellbeing🤍

005: Megan Crouch — Why “Fake It Till You Make It” Fails

A conversation about refining your message, resisting performative business tactics, and learning how to build a practice that honors both structure and soul — without collapsing under advice that doesn’t fit.In this episode, I’m joined by Megan Crouch, a massage therapist, quantum healer, and authentic branding guide who is rebuilding her business after corporate layoff, family transitions, and years of trying to force messaging that wasn’t truly hers — all while navigating the deeper healing journey that entrepreneurship inevitably demands. What we explored:The double-initiation of healers who become entrepreneurs — answering the call to service and to businessWhy “fake it till you make it” isn’t a sustainable business principleThe trap of mimicking mentors whose messaging doesn’t align with your own nervous systemMasculine + feminine energy in business — and why structure and flow must coexistThe difference between talking about modality vs. communicating transformationWhy adding more tactics isn’t enough — and why the bar for business guidance must riseThe cost of staying stuck: returning to work that doesn’t light you up… and the collective cost when healing work doesn’t reach the people who need itIf you’re trying to build a practice that feels aligned but also pays your bills, you don’t need another tactic — you need clarity. Sustainable businesses aren’t built through mimicry. They’re built when structure and authenticity finally meet.Megan's links:→ Website: https://megancrouch.com/→ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/megan.crouch.56Sophie’s links:👁️ Book a Behind the Practice Podcast Conversation: https://calendly.com/sophiecampise/podcast-interview-ren-behind-the-practice👁️ Learn more about Ren: https://www.ren-wellbeing.com/👁️ Follow along on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ren.wellbeing/👁️ Everything else: bio.site/ren.wellbeing

004: Angela Johnson — From Employee to Solopreneur

A conversation about building a brand new virtual practice — while holding real responsibility, real family needs, and a very real desire to be of service without becoming performative online. In this episode, I’m joined by Angela Johnson, a board-certified nurse coach who moved to a Greek island and is building a business that restores what’s missing in healthcare: time, listening, and support that treats the whole person — not just a 15-minute symptom. What we explored:What nurse coaching actually is (and what it isn’t)Why “15 minutes can’t hold your whole story” — and what it changes when someone finally has space to be heardThe leap from employee nurse → solopreneur provider (and how quickly her timeline accelerated)The real 6–12 month goal: reaching the people who need her and building a financially sustainable practice for her familyThe tension of being a private person in a business model that requires visibilityConsistency as the edge: showing up even when it feels “ick” or cringeThe fear of judgment — and why it can’t be the decision-makerMarketing something you can’t “prove” with before/after photos: making intangible outcomes tangibleThe deeper truth: entrepreneurship is transformational work… and beginners don’t need more tactics, they need support through beginnershipIf you’re building something meaningful and you feel small inside the noise — you’re not alone. Confidence comes from competence, and competence only comes from being willing to be a beginner long enough to earn it.Angela's links:→ LinkedIn: www.linkedin.com/in/angela-johnson-rn-bsn-663ab331b → Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/nursecoachangela/ → Facebook: https://web.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61564450804099 → Calendly: https://calendly.com/letsgrow-kudzucollab/coffee-chatSophie’s links:👁️ Book a Behind the Practice Podcast Conversation: https://calendly.com/sophiecampise/podcast-interview-ren-behind-the-practice👁️ Learn more about Ren: https://www.ren-wellbeing.com/👁️ Follow along on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ren.wellbeing/👁️ Everything else: bio.site/ren.wellbeing

003: Heather Schirle — CEO Mindset, Not Hustle

A conversation about building a practice as a mom — without defaulting back into hustle, overwork, or constant proving. In this episode, we talk about what it actually takes to stay committed when your capacity is real, your life is full, and your nervous system can’t hold “post 3 times a day” energy. Today I’m joined by Heather Schirle, who helps entrepreneurial moms stop re-deciding their direction so they can make a whole-body yes in their business and commit long-term.What we explored:What success looks like right now: a grounded, expansive community + a course + a podcast — without burning outThe internal marker of growth: learning to think like a CEO and release the need to control everythingCapacity as a business strategy (and why pushing past it leads straight back to scarcity + hustle)Messaging clarity as the unlock: calling in the right moms instead of trying to speak to everyoneBuilding a sustainable practice as a mom: “magnetizing” content > constant output, and making it easy + doableIf you’re trying to build something meaningful while raising a family — and it feels like a balancing act — you’re not alone.Heather’s links:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/wiselyfierce?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA%3D%3DSkool: https://www.skool.com/healing-house-collective-5117/about?ref=f669ecd33b7c4837bb2bbff1b775eda6Sophie’s links:→ Book a Behind the Practice Podcast Conversation: https://calendly.com/sophiecampise/podcast-interview-ren-behind-the-practice→ Learn more about Ren: https://www.ren-wellbeing.com/→ Follow along on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ren.wellbeing/👁️ bio.site/ren.wellbeing
