Positive Projection, Grief, and the Inner Work That Changed Me

I’m back after a little hiatus—and I’ve got something new and exciting for you. I’m putting together a private podcast series (yep, a little off-the-main-feed bonus just for you!) with 4–5 episodes that go deep into the embodiment tools that are changing my life right now: breathwork, somatics, and self-awareness practices. In this episode, I walk you through how my relationship with breathwork has shifted over the years. At first, it was all about learning the tool, training, and facilitating sessions for others. But slowly, it became less about “doing it right” and more about how it was transforming me from the inside out.Breathwork held me through grief after my dad passed. It helped me sit with the messy feelings, clear the stories looping in my head, and begin to feel lighter again. Over time, I’ve discovered that these practices aren’t just about mastery—they’re about living with more presence, ease, and joy.One of the biggest shifts for me lately has been exploring positive projection. Not bypassing, not toxic positivity, but doing the inner work so I can actually feel better about myself—and in turn, about the people around me.If you’re curious about how these practices can move from being “tools we use” to becoming the way we actually live and relate, this episode is for you. And if you’re ready to go deeper, keep an ear out for my upcoming free private podcast series—I’d love for you to join me there.00:00 Introduction and Podcast Update00:43 The Journey of Self-Discovery02:02 Personal Wellness and Daily Practices03:33 The Power of Breath Work05:02 Becoming a Breathwork Facilitator12:04 Grief and Healing Through Breath Work15:24 The Impact of Silent Meditation20:30 Positive Projection and Manifestation24:50 Conclusion and InvitationMy contact info!Podcast FB group:  https://www.facebook.com/groups/859832058689723Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/rebeccahappybreaths/ Don’t forget to subscribe so you don’t miss an episode, and let’s connect on social media since I’m always looking for feedback, new guests and new friends!  The FB group offers additional content and a chance to connect further :) I’m overjoyed and humbled to have you in this community, as we can never have too many conversations about healing and blooming!

The Power of Breathwork: Brigette Gildemaster on Liberation, Safety & Starting Before You're Ready

In this powerful episode, I sit down with Brigette Gildemaster — a breathwork facilitator, 2x best-selling author, and survivor of both romantic and spiritual abuse — for a conversation that’s as raw as it is inspiring.Brigette’s story is one of unimaginable strength. Growing up in a rigid, high-control religious environment where there were no models of what it meant to be free — let alone be an authentic woman — she still found the courage to walk away from everything she knew. She left a marriage marked by profound betrayal and spiritual suppression, even as her community urged her to stay silent and compliant. What moves me so deeply about Brigette is that she began making the massive outer changes — reclaiming her body, her voice, her safety — before she had the inner tools or nervous system support in place. And that took a kind of bravery many never get to witness up close.Together, we talk about the healing practices we love (and those we don’t), the quiet power of breathwork, and how Brigette navigated single motherhood, grief, and the unknown to rebuild a life rooted in truth, safety, and sovereignty. We also talk business-building, nervous system regulation, and what it actually takes to trust your intuition when it’s been conditioned out of you. This episode is a deep bow to the women who go first — before it’s perfect, before it’s safe — and the power of reclaiming your wholeness, one breath at a time.To connect with Brigette:FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/brigettemay.gildemaster/INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/brigette_gildemaster/?hl=enYOUTUBE: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQyVDtNxDNwWMCFfLeJWFUg BLOG: https://brigettegildemaster.com/featuresPODCAST: https://brigettegildemaster.com/podcastWebsite: https://brigettegildemaster.com/Connect with Rebecca & try breathwork:I’d love to welcome you into my world with a free session for unhooking from the mind, getting into the body, healing your trauma and unlocking your magical gifts! Soulful Solpreneur Series 1: Is DIY Overrated?

As I navigate the exciting & sometimes lonely waters of launching a solo biz from my home office, I confront my own tendencies to play mental tennis about all the details. What things are worth investing in/outsourcing to others, and to what degree should I wing it & be the DIY hero of my own story? In fact, I'm a contemplative person by nature. I second guess ... everything (third, 4th, 5th guess...). Right now, as I type, I'm debating whether this should all be in my own words or if I should use my editing software's AI feature to write out a summary. So in this short episode, I go over: accepting help as a budding entrepreneurthe value of delegating tasks, whether to AI or humansmy own process of overcoming my ego & social narratives that pressure us to know & do it allDisclaimer - at this point I have still not hired a web designer, but not due to lack of funds or confidence in my own abilities. So, it's safe to use that old adage, I'm literally teaching what I (still!) need to learn in this episode.Enjoy!FREE BREATHWORK: I’d love to welcome you into my world with a free session for unhooking from the mind, getting into the body, healing your trauma and unlocking your magical gifts! Happy birthday, Bloom with a Boom Podcast!

Happy belated Thanksgiving, and happy 1 year anniversary to my podcast!  Just like cyber Monday extends the spending, the spirit of gratitude can extend into the first week of December ... and beyond, ideally until the end of time!  In this short episode I celebrate the Bloom with a Boom Podcast, including the guests, listeners and friends who’ve helped me along the way, whether through answering my endless tech questions or simply showing support.   And…..becoming a breathwork facilitator has really been the highlight of 2024!  Even though Pause Breathwork is an online/virtual program, it’s offering me a deeper transformation and more embodied feel of what I’m learning than any in-person class or yoga teacher training I’ve ever taken and I’m beginning to offer the full range of my gifts. Happy AlbuquERSARY ... a tribute to 7 years living here & my father

Episode 51 celebrates my Albuquersary - 7 years in the land of enchantment, which of course means it’s also a tribute to my incredible father who was the catalyst for me moving here. Episode 50! Post election cultural considerations & self care

This is the third installment of this election series, and in this short episode I discuss my own experience integrating the woman who's hurt and scared by the election results with the healer and leader I want to show up as in a healing genre that places a huge emphasis on high vibe language & messaging. As I faced down my own shame at wanting to express my true feelings on social media, I was reminded of the cultural considerations we learn about as trauma informed practitioners. Those aspects of our life path that make it hard to dissipate trauma with an IG reminding us to breathe & be present. Then, in the second part of this solo episode, I offer some of the incredible self care I've been able to offer for myself in the last few days - the deepest dark morning breathwork sessions I've ever offered to myself plus other ways I've nourished my soul. It's not about abandoning our high vibe practices, just being aware of when we need a little more, when the pain and fear needs to be named - our audiences are craving to be seen and understood right now, not just assuaged. Group breathwork workshops coming shortly, so make sure to send me your email if you think I don't have it. And....join me for some breathwork, FREE while I’m a still a student! Politics in paradise & keeping it real as a space holder

I had THIS Experience on my last day in Hawaii - prompted by my emotional reaction to the state of US affairs, this short episode goes THERE. All the theres. When real life infiltrates our felt experience while on a vacation, and how we shouldn’t fight this natural occurrence of life hitting us a bit more intensely when we are relaxed and undistracted. How we can use this experience to tap into our body’s innate wisdom. Then, I go to another big THERE. When we work in the mind/body industry offering safe experiences to people, yet we are also human with our opinions and voices. How to integrate these 2 aspects of our lives and operate from a place of love and emotional coherence.

The adventure, the memoir & remembering to pack god w/ Cat Caldwell Myers

Imagine planning an adventure so wild, that a pastor says he’s praying for you and your parents are begging your closest friends to talk you out of it.  That was the energy around Cat Caldwell Myers’ epic journey cross country with 3 horses, a dog, a nanny and two young children - recanted beautifully in her memoir, “The Adventure Paradox,” also the name of her podcast. Having spent the month of June sitting on my porch with her book, I was jumping out of my seat to get Cat on the podcast!  In this conversation we explore the paradoxical nature of adventure as being at once externally focused on the world and a very internal journey of relationships with our loved ones and ourselves.  How a trip can provide growth and stories to fill up many lifetimes, then drop us off at home feeling sick and voiceless.  Until we find podcasting and start writing that incredible memoir, deepening our understanding of the adventure as we tell it.  And above all else, how life is one big adventure.  Filled with paradoxes.  Below is Cat’s bio, contact info and a link to her podcast and book! Cat is a dynamic Podcast Strategist with a knack for turning ideas into engaging audio experiences. With a flair for storytelling and a deep love for all things audio, Cat helps creators not just find their voice, but amplify it. She’s known for her innovative, out-of-the-box thinking and their infectious enthusiasm for podcasting. Whether it's crafting captivating content or devising smart growth strategies, Cat brings a blend of creativity and practical know-how to every project. When she’s not brainstorming the next big podcast hit, you can find her riding horses, working out, skiing and planning her next adventure with her family. Ready to make some podcast magic? The cosmic-incidence of this video! My last dance with Dad

Ok I had to record a minisode about this video of my father and I dancing together, which popped up on my Ipad at a very synchronistic time! There’s so much universal collaboration here, I decided to jump on for 10 minutes and tell the story.   For one, I had just been talking about my father a few hours prior on Siri Baruc Thornton’s podcast - how he’s greatly influenced my breathwork and spiritual journey, and his energetic presence in this new breathwork chapter I’ve opened.  There are some other incredible “cosmic-incidences” as I call them surrounding this video, which I talk about for 10 minutes!  As I watched this video of us dancing away to Bob Dylan like time and space didn’t exist, all I could do was smile and feel joyous.  It was our last dance together, but we GOT a dance together.   It’s amazing how time and space allows us to feel the unconditional love and undying light surrounding grief, even though the pain will visit now and again.   The video is here! https://youtu.be/aPpjvZ7QYOc Episode with Siri:  Apple - https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/how-to-flow-with-your-practices-with-rebecca-schlosser/id1628408288?i=1000663975647    Spotify - https://open.spotify.com/episode/1E16YyBAfoxlD1YRfKpsJU?si=c4xWpMxJRXaNNrbc7Xv36g

When the body says F-CK YES! (To that embodiment course)

This short episode runs the gamut from real talk about formal education to the knowledge that resides in our blood and bones.   I begin by examining the stories held individually and as a society around courses and going ‘back to school.’ Then I dive into the powerful role our bodies play in guiding our decisions…. letting us know, physically and emotionally, if we’re on the right path.  Which is exactly why I decided to pursue a breathwork facilitator training program - I had an embodied experience that told me that studying embodiment is the right path.  How META! And how awesome.  This process has allowed me to set down some of my shame around being an eternal student so I could tune into my body’s wisdom and my soul’s calling.  Ways to get in touch with Rebecca!  For yoga & breathwork: https://purple-firefly-12441.myflodesk.com/singleclass  Podcast FB group:  https://www.facebook.com/groups/859832058689723 https://www.instagram.com/rebecca_yoga_podcast/ https://substack.com/@rebeccaschlosser?utm_source=profile-page   Don’t forget to subscribe so you don’t miss an episode, and let’s connect on social media since I’m always looking for feedback, new guests and new friends!  The FB group offers additional content and a chance to connect further :)  I’m overjoyed and humbled to have you in this community, as we can never have too many conversations about healing and blooming!

Navigating life - and the globe! - thru daily practice w/ Jessi Meyer

In this episode I’m reconnecting with Jessi Meyer to discuss how yoga and daily practices have shaped her life as a young woman.   Jessi is an adventurous traveler - we met in Central America years ago, and she’s resided all over the world and also at sea!  She’s also a yogi, herbalist, environmentalist and yoga teacher who recently traveled to India to receive her yoga teacher training.  We kick off the conversation with Jessi reflecting on returning to Kentucky to live with her mother and grandmother after years of living overseas in New Zealand, and how this experience has brought about a profound connection to her roots in terms of both family and the land itself.  We continue onward to explore her transformative yoga training experience in India, and how a yogic daily practice has bloomed throughout her young adulthood, ultimately becoming less about a morning regiment and more about conscious awareness in all aspects of her life.  Her ongoing self journey has brought Jessi to a better understanding and practice of intuitive eating, holistic health, and the journey of continuous self-improvement.  Please listen till the end of the episode for my favorite takeaways! Cultivating a cosmic love partner through daily practice w/ Sierra Sophia Mercier

In this conversation we’re chatting with Sierra Sophia Mercier about her journey with Buddhism and chanting, and how she’s channeled this practice into finding love and writing a book called “How to attract your Cosmic Love Partner.” Sierra is a multifaceted artist, writer, philanthropist and beautiful human inside and out, and I’ve included her bio below for more info! Please scroll to the bottom for links to Sierra’s website & book, and for Rebecca’s yoga & breathwork program. Episode summary: As with many of us on a shared spiritual journey, Sierra went through her share of pain, betrayal and trauma.  She shares her experiences as a young woman embarking on a career as a pro figure skater, and dealing with a difficult childhood marked by instability, eating disorders, and abuse.   Finding her daily chanting practice of chanting Nam Myoho Renge Kyo marked the beginning of a human revolution  journey that would bring her to not only finding romantic love, but developing a concept of love as being the essential quality of the world.    Sierra discusses how her Buddhist practice led her to write this book that traces the steps she took to manifest a loving relationship with her husband that’s also a partnership of two people in a shared mission to make the world a better place. The conversation touches on the importance of discipline in spiritual practice, the challenges of integrating faith, and how the practice of self-reflection can turn life's difficulties into valuable gems. Sierra’s bio: Sierra Sophia Mercier is a former competitive figure skater, a storyteller, she co-hosts an altruistic travel series with her husband on YouTube called Love Set Run, and currently she is a love cultivation coach. She is a mother and a champion of conscious conception. Sierra is also the author of the book “How To Attract Your Cosmic Love Partner”, a five step guided workbook helping you tap into and reveal your most loving and self-loving Self to attract the most loving partners. How a small but annoying situation helped evolve my identity

Can you think of a recent incident or situation that triggered a trauma response? Have you meditated or journaled about it? Or did you stuff it back into a drawer of your consciousness, choosing instead to blame the stress on this current circumstance? There is no right or wrong answer! In this short solo episode I am in the middle of a current situation that feels sticky and annoying, and which definitely brings up some of my past “stuff.” It also shines a light on some false identities and limiting beliefs I’ve been carrying around like useless bricks in an emotional suitcase.  Such as…..needing a traditional employment situation to feel worthy, safe and deserving of abundance.  Or that I’m a naughty rebel, and not a suitable tenant for a landlord to rent to.  Or, that I need outside validation to prove that I’m doing the right thing in life.    Big mic drop moment - it’s a blessing in our spiritual journey when we do things we want to do and we DON’T get outside approval.   What better way to learn that we can’t change other peoples’ stories. What are some of the false identities you’ve held onto?  What is your relationship with abundance?  It’s all in the daily practice!!!! How do I turn a sucky situation into another milestone on my spiritual journey?  Through yoga and breathwork, duh.   Come join me on Thursday, June 20th, for an incredible free yoga session where we’ll move, breathe and start to move the needle on our own built-in magic so we can weave the summer of our dreams:  https://purple-firefly-12441.myflodesk.com/solsticeyoga  Below is a link to the podcast FB group and my other social media links!  https://www.facebook.com/groups/859832058689723 https://www.instagram.com/rebecca_yoga_podcast/ https://www.facebook.com/rebecca.schlosser.5 https://substack.com/@rebeccaschlosser?utm_source=profile-page   Don’t forget to subscribe so you don’t miss an episode, and let’s connect on social media since I’m always looking for feedback, new guests and new friends!  The FB group offers additional content and a chance to connect further :)  I’m overjoyed and humbled to have you in this community, as we can never have too many conversations about healing and blooming!

How Buddhist chanting has saved Amy's leg and completely changed her life

Amy Jordan is an award-winning author, keynote speaker, fitness expert, choreographer and unstoppable human who has overcome life changing obstacles.   She is also a friend and spiritual mentor to me!  Amy and I met years ago through work and she introduced me to Buddhism and chanting Nam Myoho Renge Kyo, a practice rooted in overcoming obstacles and building a life of unshakable happiness.  Around this time, Amy was met with an unimaginably traumatic incident - her leg was run over by a NYC bus, which could have been fatal.  Clearly, the course of her life changed in a single instant.  Lying on the pavement and before even realizing what happened, the first thing Amy began doing was chanting Nam Myoho Renge Kyo.  Then she vowed that if she survived, she would not only walk, but create a dance victory project.  Spoiler alert - she DID walk, and she DID create a dance victory project that celebrates its 10 year anniversary with a Florida performance in a few weeks! https://www.amyjordanspeaks.com/victory-dance-project  Some might say that what followed this horrific accident is luck or a miracle, but in Buddhism we believe in the innate human ability to optimize and reverse even the suckiest of situations.  Amy had wisdom and resourcefulness to find the right doctor who would save her leg from being amputated, and the grit and determination to get through 20 surgeries, years of rehab and not only walk again, but dance; a friend mystically proposed creating a dance show, and the Victory Dance was finally born.  Amy’s arduous journey has led to a more fulfilling lifestyle and arts career than she could have imagined before the accident, proving that we all have the power to transform poison into medicine. Creating Abundance for Yoga Teachers with Steph Purple

Did you know that teaching yoga doesn’t have to be a side job, where only highly experienced yoga teachers make decent money?  Starting any new business requires us to overhaul self limiting beliefs around scarcity or not being an expert in our craft.  In this conversation we’re talking with my wonderful friend Steph Purple, a Yoga Instructor, and Mindfulness Coach & Yoga Teach Mentor.   Steph found her morning meditation and mindfulness practices to be incredibly transformative in shifting her own beliefs around teaching yoga as being a side job or saturated market, and this inner expansion enabled her to grow a teaching business - on her own terms, at a pace that’s compatible with her lifestyle.   Steph is now utilizing her awareness and mindset strategies to help empower newly trained yoga teachers to build sustainable careers.  She is both wise and relatable, and hearing her journey of tapping inward to find her true purpose as a teacher has helped inspire me to revive my practice!   (**see right below here is the link to my yoga class next week!!!**) There’s so much to take away from this episode! Transforming imposter syndrome into service to others,  crafting our careers with intention and of course my favorite, the power of daily practice.  But Steph says it best, so please ***listen to this entire conversation*** and I’ve included my favorite takeaways in detail at the end! **Links to upcoming events!*** Kundalini Yoga and breathwork with Rebecca, May 1, 2024: https://purple-firefly-12441.myflodesk.com/kundaliniandbreathwork  Free panel discussion on launching your online offering, with Steph & another incredible teacher, Robyn Cohen:  https://purple-firefly-12441.myflodesk.com/ips14n2cml  Book references:  Hal Elrod, The Miracle Morning Michael Allen Singer, The Untethered Soul Bio and info on Steph: Meet Steph Purple, Philly-based E-RYT® 200, RYT® 500 Yoga Instructor, and Mindfulness Coach & Yoga Teach Mentor. Total Eclipse of Rebecca - a reflection on the 4.8.24 solar eclipse

I don’t know about you, but I’m over here like Okkkk, this recent solar eclipse has turned my inner world upside down, and I’m not just saying that to be cool, woke and new agey.   In this short episode I share my experience this week of having my subtle energies speak a little louder than normal, stopping my normal day-to-day in its tracks.  Very similar to how the moon blocks the sun during an eclipse.  My “doing, achieving” life has been lacking a key ingredient - compassion on self, and willingness to do things with ease and non-judgement.  If we ignore our true needs long enough, they’ll speak to us physically.  They’ll stop the go-go-go in its tracks, just like the moon blocked the sun from shining down. SOLO on being WHOLE, yo! Part 1

In this short episode I’m nerding out on how the word hole becomes whole when you add a W to it.  Just that one letter shifts something that is empty by definition into something that is complete.   Lately I’m realizing that one shift in my mindset can make the difference between always needing to be filled, and feeling organically and unconditionally fulfilled.  In this episode I share examples from my lived experience.  So what is that one shift?  We’ll explore it in part 2! Grab a comfy seat, pen and paper, because I offer a short breathing and writing exercise to complete after listening.   To connect with me, Rebecca: Wanna start a podcast, but overwhelmed by the technology? How author & coach Christy Freddo turned severe trauma into a life of love, health and abundance

Flipping the script on trauma to lead her best life, with Christy Freddo In this conversation we’re chatting with my friend Christy Freddo who is a happy wife, Mom, author, coach and successful business owner, although her story began in shakier waters.  She transformed a life of abuse, alcoholism and job burnout into one of love, sobriety and professional fulfillment, all beginning with a leap of faith she took in her darkest moments by asking God for help.  Her healing journey continued to grow through yoga, meditation and mindful practices, and has evolved into a mission driven career helping others to also transform their biggest obstacles into victory. In Christy’s words: “In 2011, in a span of six months, I freed myself from the gilded cage that was my high-paying, glamorous but horribly toxic corporate job that everyone envied, left a decade old abusive marriage to a seemingly charming man everyone loved and finally admitted to myself I was an alcoholic and got sober after 20 years of hardcore drinking.  Within two years, I had my own profitable business that allowed me to financially continue the lifestyle I had with my corporate job, had met a wonderful, kind man who I would later blend a beautiful family with and had permanently swapped cocktails for yoga without ever looking back.” Christy is now paying the healing and wisdom forward through her mindset coaching business and her E-book, “Create Your Best Life.” What’s also very potent and touching was to learn about how she helped guide her daughter through healing from the same domestic trauma they both endured from Christy’s ex-husband.  They are both thriving in life, and grateful for the experience that allows them to light the path for others. Christy is living proof that What a beautiful soul, and proof that we can all change our poison into medicine.   **Key takeaways are included at the end of the interview** To connect with Christy: For your free “Create Your Best Life” ebook, go to: https://bestlifemindset.com Follow her on socials for tips and inspiration : Facebook: Best Life Mindset Community:  https://www.facebook.com/groups/312843698315122  Instagram: @best.life.mindset Questions: Contact Christy directly at [email protected] To connect with Rebecca: Wanna start a podcast, but overwhelmed by the technology? How daily chanting makes Lauren O'Brien an unstoppable artist, performer and happy human

In this conversation we’re talking with Lauren O’brien, a writer/performer who practices Buddhist chanting on a daily basis to transform poison into medicine.  This is how she turned a tragic event into a play that won best show at the 2020 New York Fringe Festival, and how she’s been able to thrive despite many obstacles over the last several years.  Lauren is now returning to the festival  with “Lolo’s Boyfriend’s Show,” a glitzy, saucy one-woman act about dating in NYC.  Lauren and I are old friends who met through our shared Buddhist practice.  She used to visit my tiny NYC apartment and encourage me to chant and have faith in my own brilliance, even when I felt my worst, or something really crappy had happened the night before (like a bad date in NYC).  This is a very special episode where Lauren and I reunite, reminisce and celebrate this incredible victory of bringing her writing and acting to life. We also laugh, get silly, give each other virtual hugs and even reference some alien sex - you’ll have to listen all the way through 🙂 Here are my favorite takeaways! We all have this potential for a beautiful Buddha nature that’s truly and eternally happy.  Through chanting we become connected with this Buddha state of unshakeable happiness, where our life condition doesn’t have to depend on outside circumstances.  We can learn from the symbol of Buddhism which is the Lotus flower, which blossoms and seeds at the same time.  This symbolizes how the positive causes we make in life have an immediate effect on our experience here on earth, even if we don’t see the effect right away.  It is  also a beautiful flower that  grows out of a muddy swamp, proof we can bloom among the chaos. The bigger and stronger the intention, the more powerful the masterpiece.  Lauren’s first show “Jaxx and Lolo” was a tribute to her dear friend who’d committed suicide and had always wanted to create a play about her life.  Lauren’s show had not only incredible talent, but a powerful mission - to spread healing and awareness around suicide ideation.  Pertaining to Lauren’s reference about throwing logs on the fire to further ignite it, we can actually let our biggest obstacles increase our capacity for victory - transforming poison into medicine.  Survival includes ease and self care - we need to know when to retreat. If we go too hard our bodies will let us know.  Our body is our wealth, it’s our vessel.  We need to slow down to speed up! Follow your creative genius - a therapeutic piece of writing becomes a book or a play when we’re writing from the heart, and allowing ourselves to be the vessel of the words and stories that want to come through us.  Lauren’s info! From sit to bloom - How meditation transformed Tom Gubbini’s life and career path

In this episode we’re chatting withTom Gubbini,  a wellness coach who transformed his stressful lifestyle into one of self-awareness and better habits through meditation, mindful practice and energy work.  This inner shift redirected his outer course from a high paced corporate environment to a more purposeful career helping people revitalize their health. Tom leads us on a journey where one candle sparked another - a chance encounter at the gym introduced him to “The Power of Now,” a book that significantly shifted his perspective.  He subsequently discovered the energetic magic of reiki, daily meditation and other wellness practices that not only brought peace and clarity, but better nutritional habits and a significant shift in his health as a result. Here are my favorite takeaways from this episode: When we begin a meditation or any other mindful practice, consistency is key - doing the practice over a period of time helps us develop a habit and maintain long-term benefits.  Consistent daily practice changes our physiology both consciously and subtly.  Our feelings are our emotional guidance system. They're little messengers that tell us something is up.  Mindful practices bring more awareness to our feelings instead of covering them up with food, work or outside distractions, which just makes us more disconnected from our feelings.  Food and nutrition is so important. It's also such a personal journey. Mindful practices help us build a more conscious relationship with food,  especially if we suffer from health problems or grew up in a family culture that taught us to rely on food for comfort.  When we begin our own wellness journey, we can't help wanting to change other people's lives in addition to our own. This is why so many of us become coaches or educators, the healing and the awareness it's meant to be shared and a greater purpose to our life is revealed. This is why the internal work always.
