36. The real reasons you’re struggling with your weight loss goals
While many people think the reason they’re not losing weight has to do with eating too many calories or not exercising enough, it actually comes back to 2 key areas... nervous system regulation and emotional health. In this episode, I speak more about the real reasons that you’re struggling to release excess weight, including: Your nervous system is fried and the excess cortisol in your system is making it hard for your body to feel safe to release excess weight. You’re carrying emotional weight and baggage from years of stress, surpassed emotions and stored trauma. Your hormones are imbalanced from chronic stress. You might not be eating enough food for your body and that’s creating added stress in your system. Emotional eating or binge eating have a hold on you and you’re eating more than you need. You’re attached to your weight loss goals and that’s adding to the stress and pressure that you feel. If you’re ready to gain the tools to heal your relationship with food, regulate your nervous system and support your emotional health, join me inside my next round of my 10-week program Mind Body Food Freedom: https://shahnasarpi.com/mind-body-food-freedom Stay connected for future updates: Sign up to my mailing list Follow me on instagram @shahnasarpi

27. I stood naked in front of a room full of people... here's what I learnt
Earlier this year I had some incredibly healing experiences that involved standing naked in front of a room full of people. I did this not once, but twice, in two different rooms, and cried both times. In this episode I break the silence on this topic and share the gifts, lessons, insights and healing I experienced from getting naked and allowing myself to be fully seen. An insight into some of the things I share in this episode: A bit about my experience at the events ‘Bridge Experience’ and ‘Extreme Leadership’, run by Alexi Panos and Preston Smiles. Deepening into allowing myself to be seen. Insight into my experience with Eclectica, particularly the body reclamation week and a healing activity we did here. The emotion (shame, guilt and anger) I was holding around my scars and the difficulty I had accepting them. The origin story of my scars. Realising I created the issue by trying to change my body. Finding something I loved about my scars. Releasing ‘the good girl’ and people pleaser. Getting naked in front of more than 80 people, not once, but twice. The limiting stories that came up after these experiences. Regulating myself from the highly activated states that I was in. Hiding my body and never wanting my scars to be seen prior to these experiences. Getting more comfortable with being seen in my emotions in front of other people. Why healing our relationship with our body is so beneficial to our overall quality of life (and our health). The many lessons I received from doing this experience. Learning how many people struggle with body image and loving the skin they’re in and how this holds them back. And so much more! I also did a 3-part instagram series sharing these stories and insights over on instagram, you can find them @shahnasarpi. I teach you how to love your body and gain the life changing benefits that come with this in my 12-week program Radiance. 26. How I healed my relationship to food as a Nutritionist
A healthy relationship with food is one where we fuel our body with nutritious real food (majority of the time) from a place of love. Where we don’t feel the need to restrict ourselves and food freedom. Over the years, I’ve gone from a dysfunctional relationship to food to a healthy balanced approach. In this episode I share my journey with food and how I healed my relationship with it and became the healthiest I’ve ever been. In this episode, I share: The way that our approach to food is more than what we eat. How our relationship with food impacts our health. Insight into my relationship with food and how it has evolved over the years. Some of the different types of toxic relationships with food. The time when I became obsessed with only eating healthy food. Learning to break free from diet culture. The benefits of understanding how to fuel our body. The link between our relationship with food and our relationship to our body / ourself. The two main things that you need to do to develop food freedom and heal your relationship to food. Why there’s no such thing as good or bad food. The way that restriction doesn’t allow us to listen to our true hunger signals in the moment. Why restriction isn’t supporting our relationship to food. The impact that guilt and shame around food can have towards our health. And so much more! To learn how to nourish your body with real foods and understand the foundations of fueling yourself with real food for optimal health, check out my program The Real Food Way. If you're ready to heal your relationship to food (by healing your relationship to your body and yourself) join me in an upcoming round of my 12-week program Radiance. Let's stay connected!
