#138: Pelvic Floor PTs ARE Orthopedic PTs - Specializing in Women's Health is the Key Difference

We both have this conversation with patients and clients so often that we are very overdue on making an episode about it! Physical Therapists all go to PT school and have the same extensive orthopedic training. The difference with a Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist, is that they completed additional, and very in depth training, to specialize in all things related to the pelvis and women's health. Therefore, it doesn't make any sense for women in their child bearing years to see a traditional orthopedic PT for their hip pain, back pain, etc - when a Pelvic Floor PT is well trained to treat all of the same ortho needs, in additional to all things related to the pelvis, hips, back, pregnancy, postpartum, etc. It saves many women a lot of time and money going right to the PFPT who is able to look at the big picture at this phase of life, and treat accordingly! We will have 3 different types of episodes and one will drop each week on Mondays!Movement and educationMom life struggles and experiencesBusiness ownershipTake us for a walk, listen while you tackle some chores, or let us join you as you hustle your crew around town! #137: Social Media Etiquette and the Negative Impact it Can Have on Small Businesses

The keyboard warriors have been out in full effect lately - posting anonymously and voicing their opinions of how small businesses choose to operate. In today's episode, we bring to attention the fact that communities need small businesses to thrive, and how easily social media comments can negatively influence how the pubic views a local business. We will have 3 different types of episodes and one will drop each week on Mondays!Movement and educationMom life struggles and experiencesBusiness ownershipTake us for a walk, listen while you tackle some chores, or let us join you as you hustle your crew around town! #136: Exercise While Dealing With Injuries - Should You Try to Keep Up Your Routine or Just Rest?

This is such a common conversation! Both of us often see patients and clients who are dealing with an injury, and also want to keep up with their fitness at the same time, and are unsure how to proceed. It can be scary, because it feels like rest is the safest thing to do. However, there is so much you can do to work on your rehab, work around the injury, and of course go harder with other body parts that shouldn't have to suffer from lack of training in the mean time!We will have 3 different types of episodes and one will drop each week on Mondays!Movement and educationMom life struggles and experiencesBusiness ownershipTake us for a walk, listen while you tackle some chores, or let us join you as you hustle your crew around town! #129: 'I Have to Ask My Husband' - Problems with Partner Involvement (and Lack Of) When it Comes to Women's Health Issues

'I have to ask my husband' is a response to a provider that unfortunately often leads to a patient/client not getting the care they desperately need. Involving a partner in health and financial decisions isn't the issue - we believe partners should always work as a team. The problem is when the partner wasn't involved from the beginning, and may not even know what issues have even come up, and therefore 9/10 times won't be on board with the solution. If this communication is something you struggle with, or are afraid to even bring up the care you need, this episode might help get you headed in the right direction! We will have 3 different types of episodes and one will drop each week on Mondays!Movement and educationMom life struggles and experiencesBusiness ownershipTake us for a walk, listen while you tackle some chores, or let us join you as you hustle your crew around town! You might be surprised to hear that 1/10 women are diagnosed with endometriosis, but Dr. Jenn believes that it is much higher than that because it takes most women 10 years to get a diagnosis. If your symptoms are making you wonder if you have endometriosis, and especially if your symptoms have been brushed off in the past, you need to get a second opinion and see an endo specialist and not just any OBGYN! Local referrals: Dr. Jordan Klebanoff on the Main Line, and Dr. Shyama Mathews in Princeton NJ, plus more in Philadelphia and NY - must be an excision specialist! We will have 3 different types of episodes and one will drop each week on Mondays!Movement and educationMom life struggles and experiencesBusiness ownershipTake us for a walk, listen while you tackle some chores, or let us join you as you hustle your crew around town! Rebuilding your core strength and stability is a full body effort! In today's episode, we are talking about how you can't only work your core if you want to really build core strength and stability - it's always a full body approach. This is something that is naturally part of a strength training program when the goal is overall fitness, but clients are not always as bought-in when they are in pelvic floor physical therapy for core-related issues such as diastasis recti or back pain.
