Joe Stalteri - Rescue stories, good chat, and should you join the military?

This was originally recorded in 2021 and in honour of one of our fallen; Alfred Bar (R.I.P Mar 08/2017). We talk about life, joining the military, and Joe shares some good stories. Including one of a particularly bad parachute exit. It brings in perspective the danger of the job but also the value of excellent training.Joe is to be the next course NCO, a very loving human, knowledgeable SAR tech, and good friend. There is a lot shared in the episode and i hope you enjoy it.To Al:If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,       Or walk with Kings—nor lose the common touch,If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,    If all men count with you, but none too much;If you can fill the unforgiving minute    With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,   Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,       And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!RESCUE!!!!!Support the show

#41 How to Train for Selection

This is a bonus episode where another SAR Tech and I talk about ideas and concepts that relate to training for selection. None of these are concrete and it certainly isn't the only way to train for selection but we've both been through it and decided to share some ideas. Here is the survival book Greg talks about:https://survivalbytraining.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Down-But-Not-Out-Survival-Manual.pdfhttps://www.goodreads.com/book/show/25661109-down-but-not-outI am supported by Patreon (thank you to everyone on there!) and 3 real estate agents from across Canada. #39 Paul Jackman

The following is a conversation with Paul Jackman. As many SAR Techs are, Paul was very reluctant to record for the show. We agreed on sharing a pretty iconic rescue he was involved in. After the story, we continued the conversation and I hope everyone gets something out of what Paul has to say. He was the first to support this show and I'm happy we finally made this happen. I am extremely excited to release this episode. I got the chance to sit with CWO Darryl Cattell and chat about a variety of things. One big thing we discuss is the new Fix Wing Platform "King Fisher".NOTE: we use "OTU" acronym a few times: Operational Training Unit.
