Do you ever stop and think about how the seconds add up? The margins you might be missing, by letting seconds go by without being deliberate about how you are using them? In this podcast, Tom and Lyds talk about how many opportunities you might be missing, by letting the seconds slip by.They share some scary percentages about how much time each year, you might be losing by not maximising the minutes, hours or even days!

    Episode 121: The function facade

The function facade - what is it? And how do you know if you have one? Do you find you perform really well in some parts of your life, for example, you are in a senior role at work, but find in other parts of your life, it might feel more chaotic and reactive? This is the function facade! Being in a state of high/ elite function, is one where every part of your life is in a place of high function, and all in balance and complimenting each other. In this episode, we dive into this topic and how to overcome this facade so you can simply, be the best version of you!

  3. 124

Episode 120: Trusting yourself & why you shouldn't outsource your destiny...

Do you back yourself to create the future you want to have? Or do you look to others, to take responsibility to make it happen for you? In this episode, Tom and Lyds share what they have learnt about their experiences of taking the time to back and trust themselves, whether this be athletic or professional decisions. Take the example of writing an individual a training plan, with the expectation that if if I do 'x,y,z', it will deliver an outcome, rather than working with a coach as a team, to develop the strategy and plan together and both know, what that could result in. Its time to trust yourself and own your destiny!

  4. 123

Episode 119: Passive Self Sabotage - what it is and why it is killing your journey...

Passive self sabotage is a BRAND NEW concept that Lyd and Tom have developed this week. It is all the things that essentially, you aren't doing and might not even realise this is the case... for example, you want to get more sleep, but always let the temptation of another episode on a box set override that? We set you guys an activity as well to do, to help you identify how you might be passively self sabotaging and to work out actions to overcome this. Awareness is the first step... In this episode, Lyd interviews Matt, he shares how he is using the Passion Fit training camp to take a pause and stop moment, reflect on his journey and the actions he is taking to elevate himself and others. This is why, this is NOT a training camp, but a personal development camp and HOW to use a sporting journey, for true growth and progression to become a better version of you.

  6. 121

Episode 117: be an asset, not an ars*ehole!

  8. 119

Episode 115: Dont be a personal best dickhead!

Lyds has a rant (ish) about the ever growing PB culture... Does a personal best even matter? Why is it a follow up statement made? Do people truly even want PB's? Its time to start choosing to have some swag about what really matters; knowing your why, the PB's that actually matter (sleep volume), not attaching your identity and purpose to one black and white number... So, next time you start to chat away about the PB you are looking to hit, stop and ask yourself why?

  9. 118

Have you got a coach or a training plan writer for your athletic journey? Do you have line managers or coaches in your working world? Tom and Lyd dive in to share their perspective of what it really means to be a coach and WHY they perceive a lot of coaches, to not actually be coaching... They share; how invested they are in individuals they work with, how they take time to understand what they need (which is different from what they want) and ultimately, see their roles as helping them to become the highest functioning versions of themselves (as people - not just athletes). What are your thoughts?

  10. 117

Episode 113: fixing holes in your performance

Are you a leak detector or a fixer? In this podcast, Lyd and Tom talk about this concept and how to recognise if you are aware of your leaks or actually moving yourself towards fixing them. This water related analogy works really well, lots of us are aware of areas we could improve on, point them out and yet, don't move ourselves to fixing them... and sustainably fixing! Do you find yourself making errors or mistakes daily? Feel like situations happen, that could have been avoided? Or worry lots about situations or events that you simply cannot impact? If you have answered yes, this podcast episode is for you. Tom talks you through a well known concept called 'control the controllables' which originated from Viktor Frankl and has continued to be evolved by others, to this day. You will learn about the circles of; control, influence, concern and how to relate them back to your every day scenarios to help you to focus on what you can control, influence what you can and stop being distracted by areas you simply, cannot control of influence. Episode 109: proactive commitment & ownership and why these may well be the foundation of a high functioning journey

This is the follow on episode from 108, which looked at your levels of commitment and how to understand where these are placed on a model called the commitment continuum. In this episode, Tom and Lyds take you through the proactive commitment continuum and ownership. Commitment and ownership are linked, without either, how are you able to move yourself towards executing a process that could lead you towards your goals? The first step towards you leading a fulfilled and accomplished journey, could be taking the time to listen to this episode, take down notes and plot yourself on both the models outlined - write down a few actions that you can take forwards to increase your level of commitment and ownership. This could transform the changes you see in yourself by taking this step.

  15. 112

Episode 108: is your level of ownership & commitment affecting your journey?

In the first part, of this two part episode, we introduce you to the commitment continuum. Often, we think we are super committed, whether that to be to set out to achieve goals we have, to hobbies, or other aspects of life, but in reality, we are actually not as committed as we think we are... This model will help you to assess your level of commitment for you to develop an understanding of where this might be and if your goals would need to change OR other aspects to move yourself towards being in a place, where you are truly committed and compelled towards achieving your goals.

It was 2022 since Lyd last had a racing season that she was proud of and had a performance level that matched her potential and expectations of herself. The plan is to be looking for a feeling of knowing when the right moment is to make a decision to enter a race (or not), to be patient with the process and not fixated on a deadline. This is quite a unique episode where there is a recap on Lyd's journey to date, starting from 2018 through to now. In 2018, Lyd had not completed a middle or full distance triathlon (and could barely run 10km without stopping). But in 2022, went onto take the overall win at Ironman Lanzarote (setting a new bike course record), racing in the professional field. This was not a trajectory that she would have predicted for herself and in some ways, was not quite ready but has learnt so much as part of this journey, including her diagnosis for Autism Spectrum Disorder. This year, Lyd is launching herself into 2025 armed with so much more of a sense of self and knowing what her journey looks like and how to nail this year on her terms.

Episode 73: The importance of taking smaller steps and not running before you can walk.

In the third episode of the New Year specials released this week, Lyds shares how in 2018 she set herself a goal that was running before she could walk... She entered Ironman Wales as a 'New Year, I need to get it together moment' and hadn't given time to think or consider whether that goal essentially was, running before she could walk. Lyd shares how she went through the process of realising that that her goal was on the delusional side but also how it felt to reset the goal and take the small steps first!
